1.       The Hunt- This app is unique because it allows you to really exchange style advice between other trendy consumers who may or may not have similar style to you. It is an app that allows you to get inspired by other cultures, fashions, and ideas around you rather than simply shopping for products that you like, but buy all the time. It allows you to expand your horizons. You are able to choose from an abundance of key words that describe your fashion sense and then develops a news feed that we you would be interested in, or want to learn more about. You can also upload a picture of something that you want to find and it will filter options that are the exact item or similar to it, your budget or price you are willing to spend, and a short description.  Although this app is unique because of these tools, to me, it is equivalent to Pinterest, another extremely successful app that gives you creative advice, but this is geared directly towards fashion making it a perfect application for fashion gurus.

2.       Stylect- This app is great because it is directed specifically towards shoes, clothing, and accessories. I am extremely picky when it comes to finding the right shoes and outfits for specific occasions because I feel everything must be wearable multiple times. This app allows you to swipe left or right (like a shoe Tinder) to shoes that you love or do not like, without having to leave your home, and the best part is that they have designer wear. I love designer shoes, but I cannot currently afford them, and this app sends you alerts when designer garments and accessories that you “liked” go on sale, which are typically difficult to find. Many of the reviews claim that their orders come delivered within days while in comparison to the app, Wish, that can take months to arrive. Stylect is extremely user friendly and is easy to navigate, which allows shopping to be even easier than some online websites. Although it can be compared to Amazon, these pieces are much trendier and luxurious, so anyone with expensive fashion taste would greatly enjoy this.

3.       Like to Know It- This idea is interesting because it is geared towards bloggers, specifically on Instagram, who extremely fashion influential. I follow the blog, HelloFashion, and she tags this app on a daily basis because she is a fashion and lifestyle blogger and expresses her fashion tastes through images and hashtags. Although it is not an actual app, but an extension to Instagram, it allows blog viewers to truly copy their favorite inspirations and bloggers by guiding you to finding some or all of the articles of clothing, bags, and accessories in their posts. Personally, I do imitate styles I see on Instagram not because I want to be someone else, but because I truly do look up to them and enjoy seeing where bloggers purchase their pieces from, and this site allows me to do so in a much easier manner.

An App for Haskell Jewels: This is a little complicated because I work for a company that designs jewelry in house for brands such as Betsey Johnson, Kenneth Cole, Coach, and other licensed brands, so we do not sell directly to consumers, but to stores like Macy’s and Dillard’s. However, I feel that the app, Covet Fashion, could benefit the designers within Haskell because they can get inspiration from today’s fashionable consumers and other contemporary designs. They can also compare their jewelry designs to modern garments to visualize what Haskell Jewells shoppers would pair their accessories with. Haskell could also consider putting their designs on this app so consumers could buy these products directly while they are shopping, rather than selling them to stores first. Although this process would take a lot of time, it would be interesting to see how sales would increase.
