“King of Hearts”

Heaven was a place of glory and peace to the public eye, but Heaven… wasn’t all it was built up to be.

It had rules, as expected, but a lot of them… And some of the rulers weren’t exactly as open minded as you may think.

An example of this is when Princess Morningstar, the daughter of the fallen seraphim, Lucifer, came up from Hell to explain why sinners deserve a second shot, and how they can be redeemed by a redemption hotel of hers.

The meeting did not go as planned, Charlotte’s partner turned out to be a fallen angel, thanks to Adam, first douchebag man on Earth and in Heaven.

It had been a day since the meeting, and Adam, as well his lieutenant, Lute, wanted to meet with you, and you couldn’t imagine why.

We had a meeting yesterday? What could’ve been so important?

You open the door to Adam’s office, a bit hesitant. Adam sits at the desk casually, legs plopped over the top, shoving his face full of chips, leaving crumbs everywhere, as Lute stood beside.

“Sup, bitch.” You heard, barely audible, due to the fucking crinkling of the chip bag. ‘Wow, great start.’ You thought.

“Hi.” You said, a bit quieter than intended, as you sat down. “Look, we need to ask you a favor.” Adam said as he munched on his chips, you tried to maintain all the patience that kept you from chucking that bag of chips at his crotch.

“I’m listening.” You said, crossing your hands politely.

Lute piped up into the conversation, combing a hand through her silvery locks, “Lucifer’s cunt and her idiotic hotel are diminishing everything Heaven is built to represent. We need you to go down to that damned shit hole every week and give us reports.”

“And before you ask!” Adam started. “If you don’t, we’ll tell Sera how much of a dirty whore you’ve been, and all the filthy sins you’ve committed.” Adam said, a shit-eating grin spread wide across his mask- face? No, mask.

Your eyes widen, how the fuck did he know? “Fine.” You said with a sigh, an annoyed smile on your face, maybe you’d get to fulfill Emily’s wish of helping Charlie after all.

You stood in front of the door of the Hotel, taking a breath before knocking on the door.

Moments later what you recognize to be Lucifer’s daughter, Charlie, if your memory is serving you right. “Oh, hello again, would you like to come in?” She asks with a grin.

“Yeah.. I would.” You say, as Charlie steps aside to let you in.

You chuckle bashfully before looking to Charlie, “I know Heaven and Hell have never seen eye-to-eye, and I never really gave the yearly exterminations much though, but when I heard you at the meeting the other day, my perspective totally flipped.” You started, Charlie couldn’t have looked happier, and you saw out of the corner of your eye Vaggie eyeing you suspiciously.

“I was told to come down here to sabotage you guys, but after seeing everything you’ve built, even before that, I know I couldn’t do that to you guys. You don’t have to trust me, but I wanna help you, and I wanna give this hotel thing a shot.” You said to Charlie, well, to everyone who was in the lobby, which seemed like all the staff and residents that you knew of.

Vaggie sighed, approaching Charlie’s side, putting a protective arm around her waist, “I… I’m not so sure..” She said, eyeing you, not with hatred, necessarily, more so, caution.

“How about this,” Alastor pipes up, approaching the conversation, after being a bystander, “If you go against your word, and go against us, all of Heaven will know exactly what you told us, deal?” Alastor, or who you knew as the radio demon suggests, putting his hand to yours, offering a shake.

You shake it firmly. “Deal.”

The hotel fills with green flames and sparks, Alastor looks at you with a wide grin, “Well anywho, enjoy your stay, my dear, I’m off to visit one of my dear friends!” He says, walking off.

“C’mon, Vaggie! We gotta show them around!”

Charlie and Vaggie had shown you everything, and honestly, the progress they were making wasn’t half-bad, did it need improvement here and there? Yes. But it was pretty good considering.

The two girls had shown you off to your room, but honestly, you didn’t wanna go, it felt like your night wasn’t over. And you hadn’t really gotten to know many people, so you went to place you thought would be most lively, the bar.

Yeah… Not so lively. You go down and sit, the grumpy cat man, which you knew to be Husk looked at you. “What would you want to drink?” He asked, eyeing you.

“Oh, just a water.” You say with a smile. “Fuckin’ course.” He mumbles, pouring you a water and handing it off to ya.

You tap your nails against the glass for a moment, it was silent, awkward silence, maybe not for him, but definitely for you.

“So ya really think this whole redemption shit is possible? If you don’t, I don’t blame ya. Not like I’mma fuckin’ tell anyone.” He asked, sparking a conversation first, which had shocked you a bit.

“Oh, well yeah, of course I do. No one is truly evil, even in Hell, and with the right help, I believe all of these sinners could be up in Heaven.” You said, the same polite yet bashful smile plastered on your face, Husk took notice of it, giving a small smile, not that you noticed.

“Well… You’re right, sinners aren’t evil, but they are broken. Just because you’re broken, doesn’t mean your evil. You can be broken and still end up in Heaven, it’s just the people who are broken but don’t try to change.” Husk elaborated. Huh.

“Oh.” You said, eyes slightly widened, and a small ‘o’ shape of your lips, “I… never thought about it that way.” You mumbled.

“Sure, maybe not every sinner is gonna go up, but I’m positive most will!” You recovered quickly.

Husk let out a joking scoff as he smirked and rolled his eyes, so innocent, Husk chuckled at your naive antics.

Moving on from that, Angel eventually came down to the bar, with full plans to get wasted - so Husk made you help him out here and there.

He taught you how to make a few simple drinks, nothing too hardcore, and honestly it was quite fun for you, new, but fun.

Then when Angel drank one too many drinks, he sluggishly dragged himself up to his room, you assumed it had to do with his work, but you weren’t sure.

You weren’t ready to leave quite yet, so with no drinks to serve to you, Husk began to teach you how to win a game of cards, over the course of the hour or two you played, which was almost until sunrise, you made some fair progress.

Times like these went on till the extermination and after, Adam had found out what you had done, and you had fallen down to Hell for good, and honestly, you didn’t mind one bit.

You came down to the bar, Angel winking at you before sliding away, knowing your intentions for the night, you sat down and smiled at Husk.

“My usual, please” You said, “Shoulda known.” Husk said, chuckling softly, shaking his head, before handing your water to you.

“What’s the next topic your gonna talk my ear off about? Or are we playing cards again?” Husk asked, softly smirking at you, his gaze softer than usual.

“Oh no, I actually came down with erm… a report… of sorts?” You said, trying to not elaborate so much, not wanting him to catch on quite yet, although you have a feeling he might’ve, “And that is?” He asked, his head turned, putting away the glass he was cleaning, his full, undivided attention was now on you.

“Well- I.. Uh. I have something I need to ask you- Well more so, tell you, I guess?” You explained, using your hands to help elaborate what you were trying to say.

Husk was catching on, he always knew you had a little something for him, maybe not immediately, but it didn’t take long. “Well, Husk, I- Okay so, uh… Heheh.. We’ve spent a lot of time together.. And well, I just wanted to tell you- Wait ask you.. No. Tell? No, ask you- if maybe you uh..”

Husk sat there with a pleasant but patient smile on his face, he was more than willing to let you finish this on your own.

“If maybe… you wanted to go out.. with me..? Like uh, like a date? Or not a date, that’s fine too, well I-”

“Doll.” Husk said.

You shot up. He spoke. Shit shit shit shit shit shit…

“I feel the same way.” He said, his soft gaze on you, a chuckle escaping his lips.

You giggle awkwardly. “Oh and by the way.” Husk said, reaching into his pocket, “From that round of cards we played the other day,” He started.

“Was this your card?” He said with a smirk, sliding a card to you.

You look at it.

tomorrow won't come for those without, or exploring disconnection in the procession of mental illness and trauma

SPOILER? WARNING: This analysis assumes you have played the game's noise ending at least once. I'll provide screengrabs of things where I can. I do believe it's a masterpiece of a game, and would highly recommend it.

CONTENT WARNING: Discussions and allusions to suicide, severe mental illness, grief and religious trauma/criticisms of religion.

Tomorrow won't come for those without (TWC for short) is really... confusing. To the extent where I've got a notebook with pasted cut-outs of dialogue and imagery simply to try and... understand it.

As with much of the things I write about, I don't think it's designed to be understood - etherane's work often revolves around very personal and complex depictions of mental illness, as is evident from the hello charlotte series, so this is to be expected.

I want to discuss Rem, celestials and the Dithyrambs in this, saving conversations of Mari and the Choir for when I better understand it.

Rem is not human, he's a celestial - this is revealed in the noise ending, where he melts into his true form. We can also determine what type of celestial Rem is, from the way his form manifests.

Domain: Shadow; The Eldest. Distorts continuity, converting affected areas into liminal spaces.

Now, at first, I spent much of my time trying to associate these cards (and as such, the Celestials) to specific mental illnesses, but I realised it didn't work. While 'Domain: Post-Truth' (Card Type 3) could be associated with PTSD and 'Domain: Thighs' (Card Type 12) could be associated with body dysmorphia, many cards do not fit a specific mental illness, and much of them instead reference dissociation or other specific symptoms. It's somewhat implied Mari had the celestial present in Card Type 12.

It makes sense for a different universe to identify mental illness in a different way, considering there's little evidence that the characters have information on "pre-humanity". Instead of our current system surrounding mental health, the Choir demonises Celestials, and attempts to 'purify' them.

One particular line during the noise ending stands out to me.

"Tell me, how do I stop the noise in my head?"

Ori is not, by any means, a stable character. That's not to say Rem is stable, but Ori is somewhat less rational, losing his mind over the Choir and his Rosary. He devotedly follows the Conductor up until the noise ending, where he loses his grip on purity and reality, wanting to stay in the 'Dark' and '...play in the forest', rejecting the suppression of creativity by the Conductor.

The Dithyrambs is the noise in Ori's head - somewhat implied to be caused by the celestial. When Ori first wakes up, the Rosary insists that he must "...find the source of the Dithyrambs," perhaps implying that the Rosary is corrupt in the same way Ori and the Choir are, although it does not state to destroy the source. This noise causes Ori a lot of pain.

Alright. That is my discussion of the actual evidence present in the game. The next section is going to be a lot of personal speculation, on what I feel the game is representing.

I compare the relationship between Ori and Rem to that of Charles and Scarlett in Hello Charlotte 3, although it is framed differently. Instead of Rem being portrayed as horrific and irrational, Rem is scared, small; humanised, distrustful.

I believe that Scarlett Eyler and Rem represent fundamentally the same thing - intrusive thoughts, anxiety and OCD. Unlike Scarlett, who is fixated on tormenting Charles, Rem's representation of this manifests toward himself, and his desire to be caged for safety.

Fundamentally, OCD is a disorder surrounding fear. As much as it feels like your brain just, absolutely fucking hates you, it's as scared as you are. In a similar way, Rem is terrified of the liminal hotel that he and Ori reside in, and he's terrified of the outside world. He responds by shutting himself away - rather than Ori's desire to reach the end of the veils, Rem begins the game locked in a bathroom, and must be coaxed out.

Rem is incredibly "human" for a nonhuman being. Humanisation of intrusive thoughts is an interesting concept, especially considering the demon Scarlett Eyler was in HC3. Rem is far more disconnected from Ori, far more skeptical of the world around them. Rem isn't there to punish, but more to question and doubt, contrasting with Ori's inherently trusting nature.

Hmm. I feel like I haven't properly explained it, but I hope it somewhat makes sense.

Despite that, this is just my own interpretation of it, and I don't feel it really aligns with the game, necessarily. It's just me. lol.

i mean, i saw it in the horse. the way it was a physical form of everything that was haunting jimmy, mainly his actions. it haunts him in his escape from the cockpit, in the warehouse, in the fetus being a cartoony horse. and none of those situations exist in reality, it’s all in his mind, which like. peak tulpa scenario. in the end it even talks to him as if it has a mind of its own, as if it’s its own independent being, despite being just something within jimmy’s mind. and like yeah usually these are just themes in horror but the choice to name the ship tulpar gives it a new light/makes it feel much more intentional

so while it wasn’t as clear as like, hello charlotte 3, i think the theme was definitely there

ok im sleep deprived and rambling so this is going to be partially incorrect probably

spoilers for hello charlotte ep 2. i haven't finished ep 3, so this is solely based off of ep 2.

ok so, vinlotte is a HORRIBLE ship, especially compared to freilotte. with vinlotte, vincent often refers to himself, and is referred to by others, as "the god of this world." he also speaks to charlotte about memories of past lives in past vessels. in ep 2, there is a part where the teacher says to charlotte's class "now that you've all turned 15" or something along those lines. however, this shows that she is 15 (which is also confirmed by ane herself.) in vincent's school file, it says his age is 16, although vincent shows a lot more emotional maturity (debatable) due to living longer than charlotte in general. i would say god x devotee is kinda odd, but it really isnt in this game lolsies.

during the "happy ending", vincent offers charlotte what are basically suicide pills in order to get her to "ascend" with him. i found this behavior incredibly manipulative, especially since he was telling charlotte that she could "purify the world" by "ascending" with him, which is just a flowery way of saying if she kills herself the world would be a better place.

ill probably post smth on why freilotte is better tomorrow but for now take my ramblings about this stupid ass ship.

I haven't played Hello Charlotte, but I'm curious why there's five of them. Who are they? How are they different?

Difficult to explain without spoilers, but I'll try my best.

Charlotte Wiltshire (often referred to by fans as "Scarlotte", for spoiler reasons) is the main character of the first two games, the one playable in chapter 1 and 2. She's a puppet who lives in The House and is looked after by Seth, her Puppeteer, the player character. Usually when people talk about Charlotte, they refer to this one. Don't forget! She's the perfect girl, the perfect protagonist.

The Charlotte in Delirium (often referred to as "Delirium Charlotte" or "Delchar" for short") is from the non-canonical spinoff set between 2 and 3. In short, she's a version of Charlotte from a world where she never had a puppeteer, and thus never had a moral compass to stop her from doing fucked up cannibalism gore and having a toxic girlfriend to kill people with. The game sucks and etherane herself doesn't like it so she's largely inconsequential to the story, but she gets a lot of fanart, because she's cute and loves to do fucked up evil stuff.

Q84 (or in full, Charlotte Wiltshire Unit Q84) is the protagonist of Episode 3 (or, technically, Episode 0, which is part of Episode 3). She's a version of Charlotte who became self aware of her role as a fictional character after meeting with the "god of this world". She rebels against this by eliminating anything and anyone that might bring her harm, and attempting to remain "pure white" and uncontaminated. What her role in the story is, where she came from, and her relationship with Scarlett Eyler, is what Episode 0 is all about.

V19 is the main antagonist of Chapter 3, and explaining anything about her beyond just being another Charlotte that became aware of her role in the narrative spoils the big twist of the third game. She's also the oldest Charlotte of them all and her tits are huge.

Don't forget Frei. Everyone loves Frei.

Six of Crows Hello Charlotte AU

Because I’m obsessed with both.

Spoilers for Six of Crows and Hello Charlotte (especially Episode 3, because of lore).

Jesper is our Bennet. Seems chill but is screaming on the inside. Soap addiction. Can and will kill you with a smile on their face. I need Jesper with Soap Addict playing in the background.

Kaz is our Charlotte. Now, hear me out. First of all, I love him. I also love Charles Eyler. They also happen to look physically similar. And given that the Charlottes are all Charles’ feminine self-insert characters, it stands to reason that there could be a “Charlotte” that more closely reflects how Charles presented in life. This would, of course, indicate that this is a particularly unusual channel, but that happens. Also, they both wear gloves, so it was clearly meant to be.

This would also create a lot of weirdness between Charles and Kaz (if Charles visited this channel), given that Kaz isn’t this imagined or ideal version of Charles. Kaz, frankly, would probably be more of a Q84. Violent, scheming, rebellious little fellow.

Also, having Kaz be a Charlotte works well with Kaz being what ties the Crows all together, and Charlotte tying the residents of the House together.

Because Kaz is Charlotte, I kind of need Inej to be the Oracle. The two cannot be separated. Also, Inej forces Kaz to confront his behaviour and perspective, and so does Frei! I love them, and Inej deserves a disturbing amount of eyes <3

Now, Wylan is Felix. Because they are both weird scientists who are seen as easily replaceable and imperfect by their father figures and are cast aside.

Yay.

This, of course, means that Jan van Eck is Henry Huxley, except that I was sad and conflicted when it was revealed that Huxley was an awful person, and Jan van Eck does not inspire anywhere near the same emotions.

I’m not quite sure what to do with Nina and Matthias (so sorry to them <3). I do want them to be residents of the House.

Hi yes hello! Sorry for the late response! And how long this post is gonna be!

AU number 69 is called "Ink-Black Anxiety"! The very short version of what it is goes as follows:

It's a Kel-centric AU very heavily inspired by Hello Charlotte, an RPGmaker game series by etherane. I say "heavily inspired" when really the plot of the AU follows the first two episodes (+ Delirium for the "alt route") of hellchar pretty faithfully, even if it doesn't actually have the same character dynamics or anything. Episode 3 is not included in this AU in any way. That's another AU, a specifically Hello Charlotte fusion focused on Sunny. (...or is it?)

If you know how hellchar 1+2 goes, you probably know the plot already. I'll reveal the longer version of the plot (what I have as of writing this) below these next few paragraphs, so if you don't know what hellchar is, please check it out for yourself! Things to know about Ink-Black Anxiety: Mari is alive and well in this AU. Kel plays Charlotte's role. Kel is nonbinary. Their design quite literally uses the colours of the nonbinary flag. Proof right below (also take that as your final warning if you don't want to see major hellchar spoilers).

Ok if you're ready then here we go. Buckle up.

Ink-Black Anxiety follows closely the plot of hellchar 1 & 2. Some major scenes included. Deviates from it quite a lot as well, it's not a carbon copy or anything.

Kel, Hero and Aubrey decide to have a sleepover at the brothers' house at some point before the recital. Hero is running late to it because of some school-related things. Kel and Aubrey decide to watch TV or something while Hero's still not home, only to find that they can actually go through the screen to inside the TV. They get separated for a bit, reunite, solve some puzzles. Aubrey gets beheaded. Kel changes the channel, and Aubrey is alive. They visit a couple different channels until they find a way back home, but before they leave, a deity (pretty much the Oracle from hellchar) offers to get Kel and Aubrey home, and uses Kel's body to get them home safely.

...this is where it starts getting really messed up.

While Kel recalls that after coming back he waited around a little and then fell asleep, and simply woke up in the morning like usual, Hero remembers it going very differently.

Hero comes home pretty late into the evening, and finds Aubrey on the floor (seems to just be asleep), while Kel is next to her in midair, flesh rapidly twisting itself all over, bones cracking, gore and horror. Hero runs away and doesn't come back for a couple hours. When he does, it seems that Kel is back to normal and is asleep. Hero gets them both into beds, and stays up, unable to forget what he saw. When Aubrey wakes up, she complains about soreness in her body, as if she spent the majority of the night on the floor. Kel comes as usual, but Hero can't shake off the memory of earlier that night. He pretends it's nothing, that maybe it's just severe exhaustion, his imagination, him being unable to tell apart real from fake.

The next portion is set roughly 3 years after that, and Kel's changed a lot throughout the years. His hair is longer, implying that the haircut session before the recital did not take place. He also wears baggier clothes that hide his silhouette, and tends to prefer long skirts (wearing tights underneath) and big sweaters. The lighter purple cardigan is actually Mari's, as are the skirt and the yellow ribbon-tie whatever that's called. Kel originally wanted the one headspace Mari is always depicted having, and he and Sunny even kind of fought over it, but Mari gave Kel an identical yellow one, which he appeared to be satisfied with.

With years, Kel grows much taller, and while Mari's cardigan didn't really stop fitting him at all, he felt uncomfortable in it, so he gave it back. Hero gets him a new one, darker purple, which Kel is very happy with. Kel also gets a new skirt of practically the same style and colour.

It's heavily implied that Kel was into piano since before the recital, but he's kept it under wraps from anyone but Mari (and Sunny, but only because they couldn't exactly keep it a secret from him). Eventually, Mari lets it slip in a conversation, and Kel reluctantly shows off his skills. Not anything too impressive, but he's not terrible. Hero and Sunny are particularly fascinated by the song Kel plays, and decide to try and figure out everything about it, while Mari laughs and says she'd rather ask Kel for that directly like a normal person.

All this time, that deity oracle thing has been inside Kel, and it kind of follows the same kinda rules as in hellchar, meaning that one body can't contain it in full, that said body will deteriorate under its influence together with it, and that the presence of it in a body is indicated by the person coughing up ink. Which seems to be triggered by severe stress and panic attacks and stuff. Kel was originally handling it fine, but eventually, the mental illness won (/hj) and that, especially combined with the deity's destructive nature, made Kel more anxious, melancholic and subdued compared to what he used to be like.

Kel tried to keep himself together and be happy despite everything, but in doing that, he essentially tricked himself into thinking that every piece of attention to him was positive attention, that everyone loved him and wanted best for him, just like he did for everyone else. That wasn't always necessarily true, as Kel was very much being made a fool out of at school by certain groups of people, notably some classmates. At one point, it turned into straight up bullying, and culminated when Kel was cornered and held down while they chopped off his hair. From then on, Kel can't really ignore the state of things anymore.

Somewhere around that time, everyone finds out about the ink, and Hero starts really doubting his career choice, thinking that maybe it'd be best if he did become a doctor, since Kel's condition is something he's never seen before. (happens at maximum a few weeks before Hero and Mari's senior year graduation)

Kel has some kind of psychotic break? Question mark? Ngl the end of this au is still in the works lmao. But the main point is that this AU's equivalent of "trial day" is Hero and Mari's graduation day.

Uhhh that's about it for what this AU currently has to offer, I think! Hellchar 2 is incredibly dear to me, and I'm very happy to have this kind of AU. Hellchar 2 changed my life forever and I'll be damned you all need to feel that with me.

OCD in Hello Charlotte 3, or why Charles Eyler doesn't (necessarily) have Dissociative Identity Disorder

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR HELLO CHARLOTTE 3

CONTENT WARNING: Discussions of severe mental illness, including intrusive thoughts and psychosis. Please be warned if this may cause you to spiral out of control, and take care of yourself.

DISCLAIMER: A lot of this is coming from my personal experience and understanding of OCD. While I do not experience DID, I don't really focus much on it in this, more reframing Scarlett Eyler as a character. You can take Charles' experiences however you feel is accurate.

I feel like the fandom gets tripped up when Charles calls Scarlett Eyler a tulpa.

I've seen a lot of people state that this quote directly implies Charles has DID, and that's therefore canon. But I'd actually like to propose a different take, that Scarlett is a physical manifestation of Charles' intrusive thoughts.

First of all, a tulpa implies a sense of desire - it is willingly created through spiritual meditation. Scarlett is, in no way, a desired existence that haunts Charles. There is some debate as to whether or not the game was originally in Russian or English, but regardless, tulpa just may be what Charles refers to the phenomenon as. It's not as if this directly confirms anything, as we know in-game Charles is only diagnosed with autism, and takes medication for psychosis.

Charles experiences many symptoms of OCD, contamination OCD in particular. He is intensely preoccupied with purity and disease, insisting that the majority of the population has a "parasite", aside from a select few people (Vincent being one of them, and by the end, the only one).

OCD and psychosis have several unique overlaps when acting as comorbid conditions. It has a relatively high comorbidity, due to both conditions often suffering with heightened paranoia. I couldn't find any research which suggests it can cause the hallucination of intrusive thoughts, but OCD does make people more susceptible to hallucinatory disorders, and vice versa.

Many people with OCD, especially those who have experienced symptoms since being a child, start to conceptualise these thoughts as a being - appearing as imaginary friends which act and react negatively. It definitely happened to me - I genuinely thought I had DID for a year or so of my life, because I had this voice in my head that hated me, and it didn't feel like myself. As a child, it just felt like my own mind was trying to bully me, and I didn't understand why.

We know that Scarlett Eyler is the instigator of "punishment" for Charles' actions...

This sort of "punishing" is very reminiscent of OCD. The rule-breaking itself is confusing to an outsiders, and the punishments even more so. However, I find this rule-and-punishment system very relatable, and I'd argue that some people with OCD might have even more confusing rules and punishments - for example, I can't watch very specific youtube videos, I can't explain what the rules I have surrounding them are, and I have strange punishments for this (that which I will not disclose).

Scarlett also doesn't exhibit typical alter behaviour. She never takes over, Charles doesn't seem to lose time, she does little more than act as a harsh observer, and also physically threaten Charles. She seems very real to him, aside from the fact that he knows taking pills will make her "disappear".

For Charles, Scarlett is simply a being who threatens and instigates intrusive thoughts, but in a particular way. Charles still experiences other intrusive thoughts - Scarlett never discusses the parasites, even though that's a very prevalent fear of Charles'.

Scarlett is the manifestation of intrusive thought that Charles is a failure, rather than being a separate existence to Charles.

starting with our real toxic girls.... sombra & ashe. this relationship is summarized as "i girlbossed a little too close to the sun." tl;dr for any readers that aren't scoob: sombra fucks off to deadlock for a while after ditching talon, ashe gets dangerously attatched real quick to their "casual" relationship, sombra underestimated the situation bad. ashe is dangerous and now has it in her head that they should DEFINITELY get married cuz shes got everything she wants here and sombra like..... lol i dont believe in marriage? :3 (spoiler: that's not a good excuse.) now she's gotta worry about a white woman jumpscare when shes out and about after ditching deadlock. whoops!

now the other one that's our lil endgame for these two... sombra & satya. also messy but ultimately ends pretty great after sombra is forced to get over herself. tl;dr for any readers that aren't scoob: her and satya meet on a long term talon mission (unbeknownst to satya) and get on absurdly well. tension n all but satya's focused on her work and sombras headin out anyway so nothing really comes of it. she disappears then reappears a couple years later, out of talon and highkey trying to avoid the raging deadlock leader who's mad at her for leaving her at the altar (ashe's words, not her's.) india's a pretty good curveball. the details are fuzzy here but they ultimately get back together here which is great until satya keeps jabbing her and being like FIX YOUR ISSUES OR YOURE LEAVING and shes like ://// FINE! DAMN.

NO ES QUE NO TE QUIERA — hello seahorse! i mentioned this one in that music meme i did because it fits sombra in general in relationships but i think it especially fits with the two of them since she's extremely avoidant... runs at any INKLING of intimacy or permanence and it fits especially well after she leaves satya that first time around and is still thinking of her.
