Didn’t think I’d leave you guys hanging, right? Well since I’m so gracious how about I share a little snippet of my part in this event? You guys are welcome in advance and shout out to Bambi for dealing with my nonsense/infecting me with this au that has permeated into my life and won’t leave

I’ve rambled for too long here’s what you really want <3 (sorry it’s dark it’ll make sense later):

the date for posting is getting closer and closer!! AHH!! my regency au ‘moonflower, mine’ for @bigbangharringrove is well underway and i’ve decided to share another snippet w y’all! enjoy!!

Only two short days later, Billy finds himself roaming an art gallery with his sister and Mr. Harrington — the two of them walking side by side in front of him, feigning to keep a watchful eye. He only pretends to be a good chaperone because of the art strung up on the walls; they’ve captured his attention better than whatever conversation is going on between the others.

They stop at an oil painting and Billy keeps his eyes trained on it, admiring the brush strokes and colours carefully chosen, as Mr. Harrington takes a step over to him.

It’s something that’s been happening. Mr. Harrington will attend to Max, ask her questions and make conversation to get to know her, and the two laugh together so it must be going well — except, Mr. Harrington has a bad habit of wandering over to him and leaving Max alone.

Not far, of course, but…noticeable.

Max hasn’t brought it up as an issue so he assumes she doesn’t mind.

“–your earring,” Mr. Harrington says, breaking through Billy’s distracted thoughts.

He blinks and looks over at the other man, “Excuse me?”

Mr. Harrington has that gentle smile on his face again, his eyes shining with curiosity as he repeats, “I was just inquiring about your earring, Mr. Hargrove.”

Billy’s hand immediately goes up to his ear, where his pearl earring dangles, holding it between his fingers protectively as he eyes the man next to him. Quietly, he asks, “What about it?”

The way Mr. Harrington’s expression goes from curious to frantically apologetic is sweet, his voice dipping a little lower to match Billy’s as he’s quick to breathe, “N-Nothing! I’m simply curious – it’s quite beautiful, and I have not seen a man wear an earring in quite some time, so…” He gives Billy a sorry smile, “My apologies, if I’ve offended you in any way, Mr. H–”

“–No apology needed, Mr. Harrington,” Billy shakes his head ‘no’ and lowers his hand, interrupting the other because he hates being called Mr. Hargrove like his father. He clears his throat and says, “It’s just…something I’d prefer to discuss in private.”

10.a character who is perfect to me (wouldn't change a thing): Actually🤓☝️ no character in Stranger Things is perfect and that’s what makes all of them interesting. I can admit that even the ones I hate the most can have interesting plots as much as I might hate to say it, because a lot of the things that don’t make sense about a character are a direct fault of the writers and maybe even the higher-ups in N*tflix, given that they’re usually extremely out of touch with reality and can oversee or think that something that’s fucked up in real life (like thinking grooming a teenager is fine and/or sexy) is normal/logical or that people are going to think it’s normal as well; hell, if they hadn’t gone down that path with Karen she would’ve been one of my favorite characters but as it stands I can only say that I like my faves because they can have complex, imperfect stories, and as for other characters, I can handpick little things here and there that interest me even if I hate those characters.

11.the character i relate to the most and why: No one really lmao. Maybe Jonathan because socially awkward besties🤝

12.character i hate the most and why: Karen and Neil, no explanation needed.

13.something i've learned from the fandom: Many of the people in the fandom have really selective ‘critical’ thinking or none at all. As in, will say an abused 18-year-old who sacrifices himself for others in the end is somehow worse than a pedophile or a child abuser/womanbeater or someone who tortures kids. I wasn’t on Tumblr for this but apparently people were hating on Will when he was possessed? So… yeah.

after many months of daydreaming and weeks of plotting and writing, i am so incredibly excited to announce that i’m writing a Harringrove Regency AU for the @bigbangharringrove event!!

and even better?? my partner for this fic is the super talented @hellfirefucker 🥹🤍 we’re so excited to work on this together and bring both incredible art and writing to you all!!

for those who are curious, i have a snippet and some inspo beneath the cut!!

There, Billy sits at the writing desk by the window, penning a letter to his friend, Argyle, who is currently abroad and has been for quite some time. Heather and Chrissy sit closely on the high-back sofa, speaking just loudly enough for him to hear.

“I have very exciting news from the tête-à-tête I attended yesterday,” Heather says with a rather excited tone.

“Well, go on!” Chrissy urges, and Billy smiles to himself as he writes, amused by their gossip as always.

“Miss Nancy Wheeler informed me that there is to be an event held at St. James Park sometime during the Season by Mr. Steven Harrington!”

Chrissy gasps, “Mr. Harrington?! The gentleman from Greenwell?”

“That very one,” Heather grins, “And you know what else? Miss Wheeler also informed me that he brings in seven thousand pounds a year and his family wishes for him to marry – soon! Perhaps even this year!”
