if angel was raised on pandora it means that she and jack lived as residential settlers during dahls occupation. grogmouth likely worked for the flynts who, being a high status family at the time, in turn worked for dahl. baron flynt was the warden of thor, a dahl mining rig that doubled as a prison. the companys sole interest in pandora to begin with was to extract eridium and find alien relics, so a siren would be a priceless bargaining chip for their efforts. all of this to say its very possible that the flynts were the ones who sent out the order for angel to be kidnapped.

hi!! saw your requests were open!! I dont have anything super specific in mind but an enemies to lovers plot with a lucifer x angel reader would be very cool!
Sure! I was originally going to write the whole thing and post it as a one-shot here, but I got overexcited with this idea and couldn't resist turning this into multiple short chapters and already giving you the first one (idk, let me know if you'd rather have the whole thing when it's done).
Seven Days Til Fall (Part 1)
Part 1 – Part 2 – Part 3 – Part 4 – Part 5
Read on AO3 (you do need to be logged in, though)
Words: 2,185
Pairing: Lucifer Morningstar x Angel!Reader
Summary: You're an angel sent on a divine mission to retrieve a powerful relic that has been stolen from Heaven. The orders are clear: gain an audience with the Devil, make deals with them if necessary, anything to return that object to the Silver City. But Hell is not quite what you expected, and neither is Lucifer.
Trigger warnings: None in this chapter (let me know if you think I should add some)
In the beginning, this assembly had seemed no different from the other monotonous celestial meetings the Divine Council liked to conduct. The session was strictly organised and full of unnecessary details, as per usual, golden light shone through the large windows, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the Silver City –routine, in short.
But now the Archangel Michael was calling your name, and you weren't so sure this would be your typical angelic meeting any more. Nobody ever called your name, it wasn't among those that mattered. Why was he calling your name?
Straightening your slouched back and wings, you answered with uncertainty. "Y-Yes?"
Michael offered a fake smile before returning to his bureaucratic demeanour, his hands joined only by the fingertips on the table.
"As you know, the Cup of Eternal Grace has been missing for quite some time now."
"The… Cup of Eternal Grace. Missing. Yes."
You had forgotten about that –your mind had surely deemed that to be another 'unnecessary detail' from one of the previous assemblies. But it was coming back to you now. The chalice, made of celestial metals and inlaid with precious stones had the power to bestow divine grace upon those who drank from it, offering visions, blessings, and, for humans, even limited immortality. And indeed, the artefact had been lost for a while.
Michael's eyes narrowed at your hesitation, but he continued. "One of our emissaries on Earth had found a lead on the Cup tracing back to some… obscure cult. Unfortunately, by the time he got there, the humans had traded with a demon –they do like to do this for a reason that escapes me. We now have cause to believe the Cup is in Hell."
"I see," you said slowly after a short silence. You weren't sure why this had anything to do with you.
"Its presence in Hell could easily disrupt order or worse, be used to bargain with divine entities. It cannot stay there. We need someone to retrieve it," Michael replied as if annoyed to have to spell out the evidence for you.
Ah, now you understood. "Me?"
"Yes. You."
That Heaven could have so foolishly lost an object that had the potential to tip the balance of the entire universe when in the wrong hands was already astonishing to you. But to entrust you with the task of going to Hell, assuredly face its ruler, and retrieve the Cup? That was hardly believable, and for an angel like you, who had to Believe, that said something. Why didn't Michael go himself?
"I… don't understand. I'm merely a Dominion, and the Morningstar is your sibling, Your Grace."
"Yes, so that's your job." That was Gabriel talking down to you as if you had just uttered the most unintelligent thing in front of the whole congregation. "Besides, we're not going to waste our time when others have been designated for that kind of risky stuff. That would be…" He let out an inelegant snort-laugh.
"What Gabriel means," Uriel intervened in their usual soft-spoken voice, "is that angels among the higher ranks have other matters to attend to, but we cannot ask this of anyone with lesser powers. And well, it is your function to execute divine orders." Uriel paused, scrutinizing your expression. "Would we be making a mistake by putting our faith in you?"
You gulped. "N-No."
"Good."
Tumblr media
Plans had been made, and you were now approaching the gates of Hell. Protocol required that you banged a sort of gong by the entrance, and a dead mortal fused into the wall handed you a mallet. You had read somewhere once that the Damned made Hell what it was. At the time, you hadn't understood that meant this realm was literally made of the Damned. You winced and then, forcing the politeness out of your angelic mouth with a small "Thank you", you grabbed the tool.
The gong's echo made the other souls trapped around the gates scream and then, accompanying heavy steps, a deep voice growled.
"There's one at the door. At the gate of damnation. Is it thief, thug or–" Squatterbloat, the gatekeeper suddenly froze in his speech when his gaze landed upon you. An angel, in Hell. Quite the unusual sight. "Whore?"
"Peace be upon you, demon." As you uttered them, you realised how ironic your words sounded.
Squatterbloat chuckled. "We don't accept holy brochures."
His sense of humour compensated for his dreadful looks, and you managed to stop your wings from shuddering. "That is not why I'm here."
"Then state that business of yours."
"I seek an audience with your sovereign."
"Do you now, little cloud-hopper? I fear the Devil doesn't have time for your affairs."
You approached the gate, your wings spreading in a foolish attempt to appear menacing, your tone still polite but steely. "I am an envoy of Heaven, and the matter is urgent. Even you cannot go against God's will, demon. Take me to your master."
Squatterbloat's eyes remained fixated on yours for an instant, and then, his keys jangled.
"Mmh. Right this way… If you dare."
Tumblr media
"Oh, what a joyous day," Lucifer purred with a faint smile before relaxing on their throne with a sigh. "Can you feel it, Mazikeen? The innocence? So pure."
"Shall I ask for more guards to stand by Your side?"
"That will not be necessary. That little angel is no threat to Us."
Tumblr media
You were certain the ruler of Hell had sensed your arrival –how could they not?– and your suspicions were immediately confirmed when you entered the room. Sitting regally on their throne, the Lightbringer did not even bat an eye as they eyed you and the heavenly glow that surrounded your body. If anything, they seemed… amused.
You had heard many stories about them –though most of those tales still spoke of a Samael– but you had never seen them. Imagery was forbidden in Heaven, of the Devil more than anyone else, and you had never been down to Earth to look at the various depictions humans had made of them either. Therefore, you took a moment to marvel at their appearance, so foreign and yet so familiar, and as your gaze roamed over their leathery wings, you wondered if that was what became of angels' wings after the Fall.
In fact, you wondered about so many things at once that you almost forgot your manners. But Mazikeen's insistent look quickly pulled you out of your reverie.
"Uh, yes. Apologies. Peace be upon You, Lucifer Morningstar," you greeted with a slight bow of your head. "And upon you, Mazikeen of the Lillim." It sounded even sillier than when you had said it to Squatterbloat.
Lucifer let out a small chuckle then and exchanged looks with Mazikeen. Then, as they turned to face you again, they smiled. "It is unusual for Our Father to send His subjects down here. Almost an event, We might say. To what do We owe the pleasure?"
Lucifer's words dripped from their mouth like honey, and you weren't sure whether you found it more captivating or terrifying.
"Well?"
You shook your head and straightened your back some more to give yourself a semblance of presence, and undertook to explain why Michael had sent you here.
"Our dear brother has never liked getting his pristine hands dirty," Lucifer remarked once you were done.
They stood up, took a few slow steps in your direction with a thoughtful expression, and then stopped a mere yard away from you. The way they towered over you and the power they radiated felt overwhelming, and a shiver ran through the feathers of your wings.
"It is not a task fit for his rank," you said. And for a brief moment, you almost convinced yourself of what Gabriel had told you earlier today. Almost.
Lucifer raised an eyebrow as if seeing right through you and perfectly understanding the lack of conviction in your own words. A doubtful angel. Oh, this day could not get any better.
"Tell Us," they said, now pacing through their throne room. "What do We gain from helping you?"
The question startled you. What did the Devil gain from obeying God for once? Not another divine punishment, that's what.
"Excuse me?"
"We said, what do We gain from helping you with your task? We sure hope you did not come all the way to Our domain expecting a pretty smile to be sufficient to convince Us."
That… serpent. You clenched your jaw, resisting a sudden urge to speak from your heart while Lucifer kept on smirking devilishly.
Taking a deep breath, you chose to show yourself open to discussion instead. "What is it You wish for, Lightbringer?"
Lucifer pretended to think about it, gazing into the vastness of their realm, and then spoke firmly. "A single visit to the Silver City."
Your heart stopped. "And open the gates for You to terrorise us or attack the Creator? Absolutely not."
"Then forget about the chalice."
"The Morningstar may believe angels are foolish, naive creatures, but I assure You I'm not that stupid."
Your defiance intrigued Lucifer, who gauged you for a second. "No…" they eventually said. "Indeed. Which is why We are fairly certain you will know how to convince the Divine Council. Tell them We have no intentions of wreaking havoc in their home if that is what they are so worried about."
"Then why?" you asked somewhat harshly.
"You would not understand."
"Your Majesty, I–"
"There will be no need for further discussion, little angel. Either you manage to get Us what We want and We will do everything in Our power to help you, or the Cup of Eternal Grace remains in Hell. In which case, do not even bother coming back."
Tumblr media
"They said what?"
"The Morningstar wishes to be able to visit the Silver City, Your Grace. Just once."
You were now standing in the bright room where the heavenly meeting that had got you sent to Hell had been held a few hours ago, alone in front of the five members of the Divine Council. You felt small, but not as small as you had felt in front of the ruler of Hell.
"Yes, we heard that part," Azrael replied rather angrily.
Somehow, their tone managed to make you feel as if you had already failed your mission, and it took a lot of self-persuasion to stand your ground. You were only repeating what you had been told, after all.
"They, uh…" You cleared your throat and tried again. "They said they had no intentions of attacking Heaven, and I think their words were genuine."
"Hello, this is Satan we're talking about," Gabriel said, exaggerating their diction as if you were mentally impaired.
"My sibling does not lie, Gabriel," Michael reminded him. The other Archangel sighed. "If you will excuse us, the Council needs to consider Lucifer's offer."
Taking the hint, you bowed and promptly left the room to find refuge in the closest chapel. Once there, you dropped to your knees for the Almighty and clasped your trembling hands so tight your knuckles turned white.
"Forgive me Father for I have sinned…"
You started repenting because you couldn't help but feel as if it would be your fault if Heaven ended up needing to make a deal with the Devil. You should have resisted and told Lucifer that they deserved their banishment from the Silver City and that never would they be welcome here again. You should have fought them if needed, though you would have been doomed –you would have died a martyr, and maybe for once your name would have mattered in Heaven. But you hadn't.
Deep down, you also prayed for the Council to give up on the Cup of Eternal Grace. Hell was a terrible place, and Lucifer a dangerous monster, your sworn enemy. You didn't want to go back to Hell. Not for a stupid goblet.
But as soon as you came out of the chapel, Gabriel was standing in front of you, his hands behind his back. As God's messenger, you knew he was here to pass on the Divine Council's decision.
"So. We have deliberated and we want you to carry on with the mission. You will go down to Hell every day, do whatever you need to do, and come back up every evening to report before compline until you find the Cup. Okay?"
You opened your mouth to answer but only managed a weak, strangled sound. Gabriel didn't give you enough time to speak anyway.
"Great!" he exclaimed as he slapped your shoulder. Then he pointed at the chapel. "Is this free?" Again, you tried to answer, but he was already gone.
Feeling an irrational anger rising inside, you decided you needed a break, some time alone spent in silence, not even in prayer. Angels, like other immortal beings, didn't need to sleep, but you wanted to forget about the world for a while. So you flew back to the Dominions' quarters to lay on your soft bed.
And there was evening, and there was morning –the first day.

Chapter Thirteen: Phase One
Steve pulled up to the front of the worn-down Victorian home that sat on the north side of Hawkins. The sun setting behind it only made it more ominous and creepy as it was looming down over all of you. The moment the RV crawled to a stop Max, Erica, and Lucas quickly gathered their things and started to make their way out of the RV. But before they fully stepped off, you called after Max's name. You stood from your seat and moved to the doorway, looking down to see her standing there waiting for you, with her lantern held tightly in her grasp.
You loved every kid within the group, all of them crawling their way into your heart and making sure that they stayed there. But there was something about Max, along with Dustin, that owned your heart a little more. You saw her as your little sister and grasped onto her a little tighter when Billy died. When she tried to push everyone else away and even went as far as breaking up with Lucas, you didn't let her do that with you. Instead you held on tighter with two hands.
Except something slipped through the cracks. The headaches, the nose bleeds, the threat of Vecna right over her shoulder. Just like you missed them with Chrissy. A part of you was deeply afraid that you'd have another dead friend because of this monster.
"J-Just be careful, ok?" You stepped down a couple of steps, "If something happens...just fight like hell if he comes for you."
Max nodded her head, "I plan on it. I'm going to be ok, Y/N."
You nodded your head and stepped down to wrap your arms around her, feeling her arms do the same with you. You looked over her shoulder to see Lucas and Erica standing not too far to the front of the house.
"The moment she starts rising," You stepped back as you spoke, "You turn that Walkman on and you blast Kate Bush through her ears."
"You got it." Lucas nodded.
Max gave you one final smile before stepping to join the Sinclair siblings. You stood there till they disappeared through the front door and were out of sight. A deep and heavy sigh left your lips as you turned around and walked back into the RV. Steve stared over the back of his chair to look at you and gave you a slightly saddened look. Neither of you needed to speak to know what the other was saying. Instead, he nodded his head once before driving the car back down the road and to Forest Hills.
~.~
When Steve pulled the RV into the trailer park, the sun was gone from the sky, and the night was cast over Hawkins. You stepped forward and looked out the window not seeing a soul. Steve had parked toward the back of the park where no one really goes anymore, but still.
The only thing you could hear was the wildlife and even that was sparse. From the front, you could hear Steve and Nancy move from their spots before stepping back and joining the three of you.
"We should go through the plan again. Just to make sure." You spoke up, slowly turning away from the window and facing the rest of the group. Everyone wearing tense, yet scared, looks on their faces.
Nancy stepped up beside you and nodded her head, "That's not a bad idea. Wanna make sure that we have it all...don't miss a step."
"Phase One, we wait for Erica to give the signal at the park across from the Creel House, from there she'll signal Max and Lucas that we're ready." You stared, your hand still holding tightly to the leather belt of the sheath across your back.
"Phase Two, Max baits Vecna. Get's him distracted for us." Steve continued.
"Phase Three?" Nancy asked, but her blue eyes were focused on Eddie and Dustin who were more toward the back of the RV. Dustin sat in the booth across from Robin with Eddie standing behind him.
"Me and Eddie draw away the bats," Dustin spoke, Eddie smiled slightly and laid an affectionate hand on Dustin's head.
"Phase Four, we head into Vecna's newly bat-free lair, and...we flambe his ass." Robin finished with a smirk.
"No one moves on till we have all copied, no deviation, nothing...go it?" You spoke firmly, looking up and making eye contact with every single person.
"Got it," They all repeated back in unison.
"Let's go get this son of a bitch," You spat out angrily, turning to walk past Nancy and opening the door of the RV quickly.
There was a tense and eerie silence throughout the park you felt when you stepped out of the RV. The entire park was empty almost like no one was home. In a quick single file line, all of you moved through the park toward the Munson home. You ducked low and made sure to stay close to the back of the park till you needed to move up.
The moment the trailer came into view, your feet seemed to only move faster, leading you to the front door. You grabbed it openly quickly, it left unlocked from the last time everyone was there and held it open as everyone rushed inside one after the other.
You followed behind him with everyone else, double-checking the park to ensure no one was around to see them. The trailer was left exactly like last time you were all there, the sheet rope still dangling from the ceiling and into the Upside Down.
Steve stepped forward and grabbed tightly to the sheet, "I'll go up first, pull the mattress over on the other side so you guys will have a safe place to land."
Everyone took a step back and waited as Steve made his way up. He disappeared quickly through the wide opening at the ceiling before flipping quickly and landing on his feet. He paused for a moment before looking back at you all.
"What does he want...an applause?" Robin asked sarcastically, rolling her eyes as she looked back down at you, making you laugh through your nose lightly and shake your head.
It wasn't long till you heard Steve moving from the back of the trailer through the gate. The mattress came into view as he threw it down on the ground.
"I'll go next," You spoke without hesitation, grabbing the strap of your machete sheath from over your head before stepping directly under the gate. "Watch out!" You shouted before sending it through, watching as it landed on the mattress.
Steve bent down quickly and grabbed your weapon before stepping back to give you space. You grabbed tightly to the white sheet and moved to pull your body upward, this time seemingly easier than the last. That same feeling from before came through you as you passed through into the Upside Down. The feeling of gravity took over as your body fell forward. You acted quickly and tucked your knees into your chest so you landed swiftly on your back.
Steve stepped forward and held a hand out for you, which you took gratefully before he pulled you up.
Following close behind you was Nancy, a few more weapons, and then Robin. Another round of weapons and even a shield came through before Eddie soon followed. You stepped forward and held your hand out for him to get up from the mattress. He smiled up at you before using your help to stand. Dustin threw a few more spears through, but the moment the mattress was cleared, he came tumbling down.
Everyone strapped back on their chosen weapons before stepping out of the trailer and into the Upside Down Forest Hills.
"Hey," Nancy spoke jogging slightly to catch up to you. "I know you have the machete and everything, but thought maybe you'd want something a little more powerful just in case."
She smirked at you before thrusting what was in her hands forward. Your eyes moved down away from her face before settling on her hands. Your eyes widened slightly when you saw the sawed-off shotgun tightly in her grasp, matching very much the same as the one strapped across her back.
"Seriously?" You chuckled before stepping forward and taking it.
"We're going to need as much force power as we can get when we get in there. If Jason's...advice is worth anything...this will make sure that we don't miss."
You quirked a brow to her, before nodding your head, taking the extra shotgun shells from her and sliding them into the front pocket of your jacket. Steve and Robin started walking over to join you and Nancy before stopping short and turning around.
"Listen," He spoke talking to Dustin and Eddie "If anything goes wrong, you turn back and you run do you hear me? Stay safe and don't do anything stupid. Keep 'em busy for like a minute or two. We'll take care of Vecna. Don't be cute...or try to be heroes, ok? You're just..."
"Decoys," Dustin finished off for him. "Don't worry, Steve. You can go and play the hero."
There was a touch of sarcasm in Dustin's voice as he spoke.
"Don't worry about it, dude," Eddie took a slight step forward, "I mean...look at us...we are not the heroes."
Eddie smiled slightly at the end, his dimples showing on each side of his cheeks. It made your stomach flutter with butterflies. Amazing, even in the face of the world ending and possible death, he still made your heart race and swoon. You moved closer to step up beside Steve, your eyes only focused on Eddie.
"Keep an eye on my girl ok?" Eddie's voice changing to hold heavy seriousness, but with that playful glint still in his warm eyes. "Need her coming back to me in one piece."
"You got it, man," Steve nodded his head, before stepping away, leaving you there standing before Eddie.
"You know very well I can take care of myself, Munson," You teased as he stepped to stand right in front of you.
"Of course I do, sweetheart. We both know it's you that's gonna be looking out for Steve and the rest of them," His hand moved up to affectionately grab your chin. "But I'm serious, ok? Come back to me safe."
Your eyes softened as you looked at him, reaching up to caress his face so that his eyes focused solely on you. Seeing the vulnerable fear and sadness, the same vulnerability he showed when you all found him at the boat house.
"I'll come back, I promise." You rubbed your thumb over his cheek, before pressing up on your toes and kissing him.
Eddie pressed his lips firmly against yours and wrapped an arm around your waist to hold you tightly against his chest. The kiss wasn't long. But it was enough. Enough for you to convey to him how much you cared for him, were sacred for him, and needed him. Eddie pulled back with a shaky breath and pressed his forehead against yours.
"Y/N..." He whispered with his eyes looking deeply into yours. "I...I love..."
You shook your head and pressed a finger against his lips. Tears welled up in your eyes knowing exactly what he was going to say. The words you'd longed to hear since you were a little girl. Ever since you knew what love was. Only from him. But you couldn't hear them, not now. Not like this.
"Shh...don't...that sounds like a goodbye, and we're not saying goodbye right now." You stepped back and sniffled lightly, "You tell me when I get back. Ok?"
Eddie watched as you started to walk away from him, your eyes still looking at him in a way that felt like a fist had punched through his heart. He couldn't speak, the force of his words lodged in his throat, so instead, he nodded his head. He and Dustin stood outside that trailer as he watched the four of you run away toward the woods.
~.~
"He almost said it," You spoke to Robin, your heart still beating hard against your chest in amazement. "Like...really say it!"
"Why didn't you let him?" Robin questioned with a confused look on her face.
"When has it ever gone well when someone professed their love before a death-defying event? Never!" You exclaimed.
"She has a point," Steve shrugged from a couple steps in front of you.
"Thank you!" You shook your head and sighed deeply, "Besides I want him to tell me when it's the right time. And not because he feels that one of us isn't gonna make it. I hate that."
"I thought it was pretty sweet," Robin shrugged her shoulders as the four of you continued through the woods.
"It will be...after this is all over and done with." You sighed and moved your flashlight from side to side as you looked around the woods. "Haven't we walked past that tree before?"
"What? No!? Don't say that?" Robin spoke, her voice slipping into the highly animated and panicked voice she slips into at times. "We couldn't have."
"We didn't there is no way," Steve spoke.
"Are you sure? Cause that would really, really suck of Vecna was able to end the world cause we got lost in the woods" Robin spoke quickly, stepping forward a little more as she walked faster. You looked down and watched as the vines moved and slithered along the forest floor.
"Robin! Watch the vines....hive mind...remember!" You exclaimed as you chased after your clumsy friend.
"Guys! Really!?" Steve shouted after the two of you as you moved past him and Nancy.
"We've got it!" Robin shouted over her shoulder just as you grabbed her wrist, stopping her from stepping onto a vine that was right beneath her raised feet.
"Robin! Fuck!" You cursed with your heart jumping and feeling like it was frozen for a moment in panic. "Come on..."
"Sorry...sorry..." She cringed and stepped back to you, "I can't help it...my body jolts with energy when I'm panicked."
"Oh, I know." You chuckled, wrapping your arms around her shoulder and walking tightly at her side. "You're a klutz, and I love you for it, Robin Buckley. Most of the time, 99% of the time. It's adorable, but this is not one of those times."
"Did I ever tell you that it took me longer to walk than most baby's at my daycare?" Robin spoke.
You laughed and nodded your head, "Yes, yes you did. Many times during our shifts. Any time you tripped and dropped ice cream on the floor."
"That floor was shit and you know it!" Robin spoke defensively.
"Alright, alright." You shook your head and scoped your flashlight through the woods before halting your steps as something caught your eyes. "Hey, Buckely...you see what I see?" You spoke with your eyes still focused on the structure in front of you.
"Holy shit!" She spoke with a wide smile before turning back to Steve and Nancy. "Guys! Guys! We aren't lost! Y/N found it! Come on! Let's go!"
It wasn't long till you heard the quick and hurried steps of your friend coming back in your direction.
"Robin! Slow down!" Steve shouted after her. That only made you laugh a little harder as you heard his stern voice echoed through the woods. Robin stopped short right beside you with her breath hard and panting loudly.
"You're making dad angry," You chuckled just as Steve and Nancy walked up beside you.
"You two aren't funny I hope you know this," Steve grumbled.
"Calm down, dad" You teased further as you all walked the few steps you needed to break from the woods. The light and airy fun you felt only seconds ago dissipated the moment your eyes fell onto the Creel House. It looked as broken down and decrepit as the one back in Hawkins. But the one difference is the swarm of bats flying around the top level of the Victorian home. You felt a chill run up and down your spine as you heard the shrill shrieks they called out into the sky as the thunder rumbled through.
"Fuck," You cursed low under your breath, feeling Robin's fingers lace through yours and squeeze them tightly.
Your eyes were soon pulled away from the hell home by a soft glow coming from across the street. Everyone else seemed to catch it at nearly the same time as you did.
"Erica," Steve sighed deeply before moving toward the play structure. You all moved along the tree line to not draw attention to either of you. The last thing you needed was to catch their attention and have them coming for you.
You all dropped down to your hands and knees the moment you go to the back of the park. You moved slowly and silently, soon enough making it to the structure and hiding beneath it. You knelt down below the slide with Steve and Robin sandwiched at each side of you.
Nancy reached a hand up and moved it through the glowing lights that danced through the structure, acting as a signal to Erica.
"Erica here," Her voice echoed through. "We moving into Phase One?"
Nancy moved her fingers through the lights in a motion, acting to pulse the light Erica had in response. You sat and waited for her reply, knowing nothing could move forward until Max started her plan first.
"Copy that Lovebirds are moving into Phase One, I repeat the Lovebirds are moving into Phase One."
"That was easy," Robin sighed
"Yeah, but now we wait for the hard part." You whispered, your eyes darting across to the home knowing that he was inside. "Take the bait...take the bait you fucking asshole," You whispered.
"He will." Steve nodded his head.
"We need him to," Nancy countered.
"I want him to, more than just cause he is threatening our world. I want him dead because of Chrissy. He took her from me, from her family...I-I just want him to fucking pay for that. She was sweet and kind...one of the good ones and didn't deserve that." Your voice was laced with venom, each word coming out angrier than the last. "I want to make him pay."
I don't know about you guys...but this is my favorite chapter so far. might change with the next two or three but...oh, I had fun writing for Reader and Eddie but also building on Robin/Max's relationship with the reader cause that's going to come in a little more later.
I have seen people panicking about Eddie...he is going to live guys. That's the whole reason for this re-write. And my anger for his death has been recharged with a video coming out of Joesph getting his prosthetics for the show...Eddie could've lived through those wounds...I'm sorry. You can't convince me otherwise. Leave a comment! Give your predictions of what you think is going to happen in the bat-tle...(see what I did there, thanks for the joke Dustin!!)

Moodboard #3
Tumblr media
I was not able to make another moodboard since February because there's not much difference from what I was feeling from back then to now. It was pretty much all the same. Still wanting to get away and have freedom, yk same old shit but it wouldn't be a surprise that some things did change throughout this 5 mos like :
My lovely Calico cat Jimina gave birth to 5 kittens originally. She was pregnant at the start of this year and blessed the world with 5 cute mini jiminas on March 9 (same birthdate of BTS Suga)
3 of the kittens inherited her orange and white fur while the other one inherited the dark, striped fur completely devoid of any white fur. Only one kitten out of 5 got her triple color coated fur.
Sadly only 3 survived. Jimina hid the kittens briefly first and then abruptly one day she brought them up again already grown up, able to walk and with their eyes open but she only had 3 kittens with her. I never got to find out what ever happened with the other 2 babies with one of the missing of the kittens was the one that fully inherited the Calico cat status of Jimina which devastated me the most and I'm still heartbroken to this day that some of her babies didn't get to live like their siblings. I don't want to think that they died, I want to actually believe that they somehow survived without their mother miraculously but it's only the plausible reason why they never showed up at all 😞
The 3 surviving kittens tho is a lot of fun! They were rumbustious and full of energy. They were always playing and running around in my mom's garden. Climbing up a tree or an orchid branch, playing hide and seek through the plethora of plants. It was a treat to see them just having fun and I took lots of videos. I decided to name them after the BTS maknaes nicknames which is Kookie, Mochi and TaeTae. All 3 kittens have a very distinct personality from each other like you could immediately tell that Kookie is more introverted than the other two, his more reserved and prefers to be alone most of the time, TaeTae is more adventurous and playful but he doesn't trust that easily while Mochi on the other hand is the most extroverted and trusting out of all (FYI: I named them first without knowing their personalities believe it or not). Overall they brought so much life and extra joy in me. Now that they are 4 mos old, they don't play that much anymore, I guess it's really part of growing up regardless of what species. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Now onto my summer. I was dreading it's arrival. It's not fun when you don't have an AC at your house in the hottest season. But anyways this summer I've been having this strong desire to experience Italian summers. I just wanted to be in Italy soooooo bad. I just want to ride my bicycle anywhere in rural Italy in a summer floral dress and eating a delicious gelato after while listening to Love my way by the Psychedelic furs. Yes this strong desire got even stronger after watching the movie Call me by your name. It envoked so much nostalgia within me which is weird because I've never set foot in Italy before but the feeling of longing that I experience just thinking about spending your summer in Italy is very strong.
Additionally, speaking of bicycles I successfully finished my remodeling or rather repainting of an old bicycle we have here which is perfect for summer aesthetics. I mentioned before on my previous moodboard back in February that I was in the process of painting this bike and I included a picture of a bike that I would like my own bike to look like after I'm finish with it. And I'm very happy and satisfied with the end result overall! And I would love love to ride it around Italy!...... perhaps.
These are 3 of the most impactful things that had rocked my world within the past few months and they are in a form of a documentary, an animated podcast and an anime film!
1. Grey Gardens
I first discovered Grey Gardens when I was actively looking for any good documentary to watch so I went to Reddit recommendations and one user suggested grey gardens. Its description peaked my interest enough to go check it out and luckily the full documentary is uploaded in YouTube for free. And I must say I'm glad that I took the chance to watch this wonderful hidden gem!
Little Edie quickly got my full attention on her. She's one of the most wonderful and fascinating people to exist in our world and her mother big Edie was just as interesting of a character as well. The way they live their life, spending most of their time in a rundown mansion near a beach was truly a sight to behold in a weird, peculiar manner.
What gives me the most profound impact about this documentary is the topic of wasted youth with wasted potential and the ironic part when your very own lifeline equally imprisons you as well. And we see this most evidently with little Edie. There was a part in this doc that stuck with me the most and it's when the mother-daugther duo was sunbathing in the balcony and little Edie mentioned about wanting freedom from her mother and the grey gardens then big Edie answered:
"you can't have freedom when you're being supported"
And this has struck a chord on me so strong because I relate to it so much especially with my current situation. I also crave freedom from where I am right now but I couldn't because I'm not capable of freeing myself.
What's more tragic was little Edies rebuttal to her mother's hotknife realistic take which was you can't have freedom both ways. That you couldn't have freedom when you're not being supported as well. And it's very true. If you decide to go out in the world by yourself you will definitely be freed from the shackles of your former home & life but you will subject yourself to another imprisonment.
Basically We're never truly free in this life.
2. The Midnight Gospel
I think I've heard of TMG when it was about to launch on its release year and I remember i was anticipating for it to come out because i just took one look at the official poster & I knew I would like the animation then I learned Pendleton ward is a part of it & I'm a huge fan of his creations so it's a double treat but I didn't had the opportunity to watch it back then bcoz of my busy shitty life & I actually don't have Netflix. But I remember i downloaded one of its ost first things first.
Now fast forward to this year. I now have the time to watch every content out there that I missed from all the years of slaving my life away for absolutely nothing. one of those is TMG & it was a perfect timing. Ever since i took an hiatus from the rat race I decided to strengthen my spirituality & this time I want to try delving deep to Buddhism and certain philosophies which I don't have the time and energy to learn before and TMG was a great and perfect medium for me to learn further about this subjects as they tackle topics like mindfulness and meditation and much more other significant things, not to mention the superb, epic, psychedelical, full of awesomeness animation on top of equally superb awesome soundtracks is*chefs kiss ( I still have an LSS to the prisoner's song.. 🎵drinking blood from a stump of a prison guard that I just chopped up....🎶)
I felt like the universe intended for me to watch this later than sooner because if I had the opportunity to watch it back then, I think I wouldn't/couldn't appreciate this show as much as I do now. So thanks universe!
TMG is honestly one of the best show to ever grace the planet imho. An easily perfect 10/10 for me.
3. To the Forest of Firefly Lights
Now I've watched a lot of animes last and this year and I can tell in full confidence that this is the best of them all. I'm sure it's subjective but this one checked all the box for the most compelling story & amazing artwork for me.
Maybe I long for something similar with the characters, It was just so fascinating and huntingly beautiful to have someone or something (whatever your preference is) from a different realm to be by your side. Maybe I would also like to look forward for summer season to come for once, to get excited and get rejuvenated on a hot summer that otherwise would make my life hell. Or maybe and most definitely I just needed someone like Gin as a source of my utmost happiness and comfort.
Overall this anime had made me feel so much warmth in my heart with its unadulterated poignancy and I just couldn't get enough of it. What a masterpiece ✨
Ps: I recommend listening to Warning Sign by Coldplay after watching to the Forest of Firefly Lights 🌹Check it out ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

The Sound of Life - Chapter 4
Tumblr media
The next morning they were eating breakfast. Phoenix was still wearing her pajamas.
"Phoenix," Winslow suddenly said.
"Yeah?"
Winslow looked as shy as he had on the day Phoenix had seen him for the first time. "Ahum... Phinny..."
"Yeah?"
"Phinny... on Friday it's my sister Lucy's birthday. I...I think it's about time you meet my family."
For a second she was very quiet. Then: "Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh."
Dunphy looked just like it had when Winslow had left to look for fame. A soft summer wind was blowing over the yellow fields and playing with his hair. The sky was blue. First golden leaves were sailing across the streets, but most trees were still green. Some people passed them. Not everyone recognized Winslow. Those who did looked surprised or shocked. And they whispered.
"Look!"
"It's him! It's Winslow!"
"Harry's kid!"
"The Leach boy! The one who ran off to New York!"
"The musical one, who got lessons from Carmine!"
"My God, what happened to his face?"
"And who's the girl?"
"Yes, who's the girl?"
Before he rang the doorbell Winslow realized that Phoenix deserved a warning. "Phoenix...I have five talkative sisters."
She laughed. "Good company for me. Let's go."
He pressed the bell.
For a few seconds nothing happened. Then the door opened. The fragile elderly woman in the doorway had fluffy hair and was wearing thick glasses. She hadn't changed a bit.
"Winslow!", Joan Leach yelped and pulled him into a long hug.
"Winslow?" Suddenly a tall lanky girl with equally thick glasses and a ponytail appeared in the corridor. "Winslow, bro!" She sprinted over and joined her mother in hugging the lost son.
"Whatcha sayin... Wins'!!!"
"The lost son has returned!"
"Bro! Bro! Bro!"
"Winsy! I knew you'd come back!"
"Sonny, don't you ever dare scare your poor old dad like that again!"
In the end, four siblings and the father had joined the group hug. Phoenix was awkwardly standing next to them.
Finally Momma Leach chased her children off. "Dear God, we're gonna suffocate the lost sheeple. Emmy, Jenny...Jenny! Sandy! Ellie! Harry, don't smother your son like that, I want him to live another day. Winslow, for God's sake, what kind of trouble did you get in in New York?"
He laughed shyly. "I'm gonna tell you later, first of all-" He reached out for Phoenix and pulled her to his side. "- I want you to meet Phoenix, my girlfriend."
"We've lived to see the day, my wee lil bro got himself a girlfriend," Emmy commented.
"Emmy!", Joan hissed. The girl shrugged her shoulders. Winslow laughed.
"Why are we standing in the doorway?", Jenny suddenly asked. "Come in! Let's get in the living room!"
They sat down at the table. The twins, Sandy and Ellie, brought two extra chairs.
"Winslow, we want you to tell us everything," Poppa Leach said. "And Phoenix...if he exaggerates stop him from doing that."
She laughed. "I will."
"First things first: What the hell happened to your visage?", Emmy asked.
"Emmy!"
"What? He was ugly already when he left, but it was definitely not the pollution in NYC that made him even uglier."
"Emmy!"
"No, no, she's right," Winslow laughed. "Gosh, Emmy, I missed your salty comments."
"See, mum?" She grinned triumphantly.
"Anyway," Winslow continued. "I got my head caught in a record press."
Poppa Leach looked over to Phoenix. "I asked you to prevent him from exaggerating."
"In fact he's understating,' Phoenix mumbled.
"Gosh, Winslow you've always been one clumsy individual, but this just takes the cake."
"Emmy!"
"How is it even possible to do that?"
"Right, how do you get your head caught in a fucking record press, Winslow?"
"Sandy! Language!"
"I tried to destroy all copies of Faust Death Records printed," Winslow tried to explain.
"Oh yeah, I heard those bastards play your stuff on the radio...!"
"Ellie! Language!" Everyone laughed.
"And your voice?", Joan asked.
"Same thing."
"I've told you, son, New York is no good," Harry murmured.
"But how did you two meet, I'm curious!", Jenny burst out. Everyone else was quick to beg Winslow to tell the story. He laughed. "Well, I heard her sing Faust and..."
"Dot dot dot? Ey yo, you're not usually that type," Emmy remarked.
"Emmy!"
"Sorry momma."
"We kind of lost contact after we first met and then later Winslow found me again and we had a chat - I didn't recognize him then, because-" - Phoenix gesticulated at Winslow - "-Face. Then the next day Winslow saved me from being shot and got wounded himself and while he was in hospital we started talking and, well, became a couple."
"Awwwww," Jenny commented. "Hey, Phoenix, you're his first girlfriend, just so you know."
"Really?" Phoenix looked over to Winslow. "You didn't tell me!"
He blushed. Everyone laughed.
"Lucy is gonna marry soon too!", Ellie burst out.
"Really?" Winslow raised his eyebrows. "What'd I miss?"
Sandy grinned mischievously. "His name is Oskar. He's a historian from Germany. He's divorced and has a kid."
"They met in the grocery store!", Ellie yelled.
"I wanna know more!"
"She bumped into him..."
"...more or less deliberately."
"Less, according to her! Apparently it was an accident!"
"Sure."
"When is she coming?"
"Should arrive any minute, Winslow. Get ready for confused German mumbling!"
Everyone laughed.
"I left the cake in the oven!", Joan yelled and rushed into the kitchen. She returned with a warm oven-fresh cherry pie. A wonderful smell filled the living room. Winslow felt truly at home. The doorbell rang.
"That's them!", one of the twins yelled and sped off to open the door.
"She's gonna go flippin' when she sees you, Winsy," Jenny whispered.
"I hope she doesn't get a heart attack from your visage, bro," Emmy joked.
"Emmy!", Joan hissed. Winslow quickly combed his hair over his bad eye.
"That's not necessary, you know," Phoenix remarked.
"I was just joking," Emmy agreed.
"I know, I just thought I really shouldn't shock Lucy more than necessary right away." Winslow grinned.
A short woman of around forty with wild dark blonde hair and thick glasses walked into the kitchen, only to freeze as soon as she spotted her long lost brother. She stared at him in pure shock.
"Winslow?!"
"Hi." He grinned like a young shark.
Behind Lucy a lanky redhead of forty and a little girl with pigtails appeared.
"Hey, Lucy, what's wrong?", Oskar asked.
She pointed at Winslow, her face as pale as if she'd seen a ghost. "Tha-tha-that's my brother...and he's dead!"
"Happy Birthday," Winslow replied.
Lucy looked like she'd just been forced to swallow a rolled up newspaper. "H-h-how this possible?"
She was so shocked she'd literally forgotten grammar.
The Leaches looked at each other and collectively burst out laughing at Lucy's puzzled expression. Finally Winslow got up and walked over to her.
"Jesus was resurrected," Emmy commented.
"Emmy! No jokes about God!"
"Sure, mum."
Lucy blinked five times. Then she reached out and touched Winslow to convince herself that he was, in fact, real and standing in front of her. Then her eyes widened. "I'm not dreaming!"
"Nope."
And suddenly she launched herself forward and gave him a hug. Winslow laughed. "It's nice to see you too, Sis." Over his sister's shoulder he greeted Oskar, who looked quite baffled. "Hi, you must be Oskar. My sisters told me about you..."
"Ja," Oskar replied in confusion, then realized he was speaking the wrong language. "Ich...I mean - yes, I'm Oskar."
"Nice to meet you. I'm Winslow Leach." They shook hands and Lucy let Winslow go. She reached behind herself and took the little girl's hand. "Maite, c'mon. Winslow, this is Maite... Oskar's daughter. Maite, this is Winslow - your uncle."
Maite tilted her head curiously. "Mr Winslow, why do you have silver teeth?"
"What?", Lucy asked in confusion, followed by a "Holy shit!"
She looked absolutely helpless. "Oh my God...oh my God...I... I...I need a chair."
Sandy brought her one and Lucy plummeted onto the seat. She was still staring at Winslow like he was a ghost. Joan served the cake. "Lucy, will you drop the plate if I give it to you?"
"Wha - no." She took it. She was still staring at Winslow.
"Her eyes are going to pop out any second," Harry commented.
"H-how come you're here?!", Lucy asked Winslow.
He laughed. "Ah well... it's a long story. But first of all, I want you to meet Phoenix - my girlfriend."
"Hi." Phoenix waved. "It's nice to meet you."
"Okay, I must be dreaming," Lucy slowly and serenely uttered. "Winslow's back, he got a makeover and he has a girlfriend. I'm asleep and my brain is playing tricks on me."
Winslow and Emmy collectively rolled their eyes.
"Now you're overreacting," Jenny said.
"No, I'm not." Lucy finally managed a shaky laugh. "Alright. Winsly - you have a lot to explain." She frowned. "Hey, what's that with your eye?"
Winslow wiped away his hair and Lucy visibly paled. "Alright, the tabloids weren't lying."
"Nope," Phoenix agreed. And then Winslow started telling the wild story that had happened to him. Joan gave everyone pieces of cake. Occasionally Winslow was interrupted by gasps, either from Lucy or Jenny or Joan. The twins admired Winslow's makeover. Harry asked him whether metal teeth were more useful than usual ones. Phoenix and Emmy soon appeared to get along greatly. Ellie slid off and returned with Winslow's long-lost copy of Goethe's Faust - she'd borrowed it. It was a wonderful afternoon.
When it got dark Lucy and her new family left to drive back to Oskar's home. The twins were sent to bed, but of course they didn't even bother to go.
"It is crazy to get you back, bro," Emmy at some point commented. "Specially with that Goth upgrade you got."
Winslow chuckled. "Thanks."
"Still," Jenny added. "I wouldn't be surprised if I woke up tomorrow and it would've just been a particularly nice dream."
"Me neither," Winslow laughed.
Joan checked her watch. "It's getting late. Did you take the train?"
"Yes." Phoenix nodded.
"The last train goes at midnight," Emmy said. "Will you take it?"
"Probably," Winslow replied.
"Then you oughta hurry. It's eleven thirty," Joan said. She sighed. "Winslow, I don't want to sound like a stereotypical country mum, but I hate to see you leave."
He chuckled. "I'll come back."
"You promised that last time."
"And I kept my promise, didn't I?"
"You were a year late."
"But I came."
"I have an idea," Phoenix suddenly said. "I can just leave our phone number. And y'all can call. Whenever you feel like it."
And so they did. Phoenix scribbled down her number. Then they left. When Winslow turned around for the last time he saw his family standing in the doorway and waving.
He smiled and waved back.
