Helios: *a young ‘sun elf’ turned Aasimar raised by a sect of Shar cultists pretending to be Lathander worshippers, all of whom raised him from birth to believe he’d be sacrificed and reborn as the morning lord but in truth, they wished to spill the blood of the sun gods own in his own temple in the name of their dark lady so the shadows would consume the very source of the moon maidens silver light and the light that comes at dawn to end all darkness…, now quietly walking through the entrance of cazadors castle with a forlorn expression having witnessed astarion ascend despite his pleas* he really did it… I hope… he’s happy… I thought… I thought he’d of chosen kindness…

Gale: hundreds, thousands of lives destroyed, all to feed power to one person… are you okay?…

Helios: *flaps his wings* I’m… I’m okay… You’ve all got what you wanted now though right?… can… can we go find another temple of lathander now?… one not defiled by Githyanki or… a smouldering ruin?

Shadowheart: *knows the truth about his childhood and desperately trying to convince him he’s been mislead his whole life just like her* Helios please you can’t still be serious about this! The cultists who raised you were shar worshippers! The same as the ones who stole me from my parents-

Helios: No I won’t calm down!!! *points to shadowheart* I got her her memories back! I lost my first flight to her betrayal! *points to lae’zel* the temple where id ascend lies in ruin now because of her people! She got her prince and a dragon too! *points at gale* I fixed your relationship with your stupid goddess! *points at Wyll* I broke your pact! *points at halsin* I saved your grove! I saved thaniel! And I saved you!!! *stomps his foot as he looks at karlach* I got you your fucking heart back! And Astarion- *chokes out a sob* he… he got the power he wanted… now I’m finally going to ascend to my place as the morning lord!!! And if none of you will help me I’ll do it myself! I’ll spill my own blood if I have to! I’ll- *goes limp in shock as sharp fangs sink into his neck with a death grip to chill him to the bone*

Karlach: ASTARION NO!

Shadowheart: WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!?

Gale: HE’LL GO MAD!

Astarion: *cuts his finger feeding the Aasimar a drop of his blood, turning him into a vampire bride/consort* mm- *pulls away and catches him as he passes out in his arms* there we go… nice and quiet now… *looks at the others* What? We all wanted to stop him from killing himself. This way I can prevent him from doing so. *lifts him up, patting his wings and hair*

Gale: He’s afraid of the dark astarion! He cannot stay in the shadows he’ll go mad!

Astarion: Oh don’t worry, *smiles glancing down at the Aasimars paling face as he turns* He’ll still be able to bask in the sun… I wouldn’t dream of taking that away from him. *Carries him off into the palace, knowing he’ll hate him for his decision, even if the only reason he did it was to keep him safe*
