okay I have to admit I am DEEPLY interested in ur ocs and their whole...thing, because I keep getting little tastes in ur notes and I am getting more and more obsessed. just sayin...if you want to elaborate on it a bit, I will HAPPILY listen because it sounds so cool
teehee. honestly unless asked anything specific my brain goes ????? but i can at least elaborate on the most recent babble in the tags in this post
it's the quickest thing despite being the most drawn out thing. Helimire as a city when Christopher stumbled upon it was nothing more than a nameless fishing village on the coast of Astor. But there was something that pulled him there after he ended up making his way to that side of the continent of Astor a few centuries past the passing of his first husband.
It's still unknown as to what force pulled him there, but now, he's been there so long that if he leaves, the longer he's gone and the farther away he is. The weaker he becomes, magic wise and physically wise. But he firmly planted himself in that city, had a home built up in the nearby mountains (later he buys another home in the city proper), and watches a city grow rapidly. Helimire wasn't the first large city in the world, but it became the quickest growing one, and soon, the most important city in the world.
His love for the city is akin to family, he watched it grow, he helped build parts of it. His entire self in some manner is apart of that city from the dirt to some of the books now in the library/museum. His love for it is both detrimental for himself and others, while he wants progress more than some other members of The Red Moon Council are holding back on certain technological advancements (mainly a train)
But his adoration for a city is mostly seen as charming by anyone outside of his personal circle. They just think this long lived man has a love for the history of the city (and he does) and knows more than anyone else. They don't know that if something horrible were to happen to this city, this strange man would stop at nothing to make sure it was fixed. No matter the cause. They also don't know that if something were to happen to him (when he was still immortal) the city would be rocky and... less than it was before. Once his immortality was taken away (he wanted that) that part of his spirit was put into the city to make sure it would be okay. And after Christopher's death, he returns to his deity duties to look over the city, without interference.
[There's also a little au/divergence I have for Helimire where Christopher basically has worshiped the city for so long that he ends up making a new deity manifest. A million different ways that can go and I think about it every once in awhile]
#oc shit#helimire my beloved#while i love all my stories and ocs the helimire crowd is. so so special to me#simply because Christopher. while different now. was my first oc. from when i was like 10

Andiiiii You flatter me, truly.
Blogs I would recommend include the following:
@alistonjdrake writes gay court intrigue low fantasy works. Some are about pretty princes falling in love with pirates (ORG) or people in brothels who go on an adventure (The Night Court). Also, if you like sad wet paper bags (complimentary) for men, he has wrote a couple of speculative short stories that absolutely fuck.
@asablehart writes fantasy of all types and has recently branched out into sci-fi as well with their last short story about gastrous birds in space. In general they have several publications and continue to garner more. Also in general if you want Animals But Wrong, they’re your person. And their art is absolutely amazing.
@flowerprose is one Andi mentioned already but she deserves a second mention. She has been writing a Hades and Persephone story and it’s absolutely beautiful and dreamy and everything I could hope for considering I hate 99% of stories centered on the Greek myths. Absolutely worth a read.
@nectargrapes is preparing to publish her first in a trilogy of absolutely gorgeous fantasy books. Her prose is like the most decadent meal at a 5-star restaurant and has Old School Fantasy vibes to it. I’ve been so excited to follow along on her journey. She's gone the extra mile in her pre-release and it shows.
@magic-is-something-we-create writes awesome fantasy and is an amazing artist as well! He’s also a super sweet dude and I love attending his writing streams.
@westcountrygothic has a project with dark academia vibes (Wormwood) and is generally your gal if you want 60s/70s aesthetics and more modern fantasy. She also wrote a really dope short story about bats (Maternal Colony). I love chatting with her, just in general.
@andromedaexists , the man the myth the cryptid legend himself. He has two main projects: Call Me Icarus and Desecrate. Both are definitely worth checking out. Also, Desecrate features a god trapped in a church basement. What’s not to love?
@kjscottwrites has wrote a really fun novel about geologists who get trapped in an underground world. I've had a blast with beta-reading! She's also just. Super sweet.
@ink-fireplace-coffee Carmen my beloved. She's started a Writeblr of the Month event this month and in general she's a super sweet person. 100% guarantee a conversation with her will brighten your day.
This is getting long so… others worth mentioning super quick: @faelanvance @saintedseraph, @queenslayerbee, @encrucijada, @lady-redshield-writes, @cwritesfiction, @k–havok, @linaket, @vcaudley, @isthiseva (moreso an artist but her writing FUCKING SLAPS), @spirit-of-helimire, @menagerie-of-monsters, and @ceph-the-ghost-writer
Got a (different) friend joining writblr, making up a list of blog rec so if anyone has any feel free to let me know

Seeing audio drama creators be very on board with people making original characters for their thing is so very good and it makes me, a chronic oc maker, so very happy.
#audio drama#while i haven't made an audio drama oc in a long time for reasons that make me kinda mad/upset. i really wanna do it again#main one being a kingmaker oc pair that i've had on my brain for a bit. nothing concrete but like. it exists#/especially/ when they make guides on how to make ocs. that's so fun!!#bc like if a creator is mad or weird about someone making an oc for their thing. idk. that's??? so wild to me??#if someone made an oc for a thing i made i'd be jumping for joy#(like my friends who've played my helimire dnd campaign(s)(2). those ocs my beloved <3)

Huzzah! Thank you for the tag! :)
Last song: Technically this mashup between One Day from the Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Kraken from Pirates of the Caribbean, because I heard it in an animation by sixofclovers and then I had to listen to it approximately ten thousand more times.
Last show: The Legend of Vox Machina! I've never watched the first campaign of Critical Role. But. I do know some things, and I'm going in with my eyes wide open vis-a-vis my utterly predictable attachment to the character who has "doomed by the narrative" stamped all over his raven-feathered armor. Haha. Ha. Haaaaaa. 0_0
Currently watching: The Last of Us and hoooooo boy. I am. Uh. Usually not capable of watching shows that are this scary/depressing. But the writing and the acting are just so so so good!
Currently reading: Nona the Ninth! Although "reading" is a generous term - really I just I crack it open and tempt myself with the first few pages every so often. I got a little frustrated while waiting three hundred pages for the context of Harrow, so I'm suspiciously eyeing Nona, thinking, "Is this really a story? Or is this a jigsaw puzzle with pieces missing?" I might have to put it down and read something else until I'm in more of a puzzling mood.
Current obsession: The Goblin Emperor and The Murderbot Diaries, my beloveds!
Breaking the tagging rules and mostly tagging people who I already know because I want to hear what they're up to, if they feel like it! (And also because @calaathmaza already tagged many of the people I want to get to know better, and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to tag them again or just wave cheerily from the replies, so hello tge people, I think you're all great!)
@helimir @theshakesbeare @tubularfox @emeraldhyacinth @largeseamonsters
I was tagged by @carlandthepassions-sotough <3<3<3 Thank you my dear friend
Rules: tag 9 people you want to get to know better
Last song: Vackert väder by Jakob Hellman
Last show: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Currently watching: Breaking Bad
Currently reading: Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett! I'm very nearly done with it though, and afterwards I'll continue reading Crime and Punishment by Fjodor Dostojevskij. I found that book in the living room and started reading the first page x) I liked it
Current obsession: Ough.... . . Hard to say! I think I'm dipping my toes into a lot of old fixations at the moment. I should find something new, I think! My brain thirsts for it.
I tag: @corvimalice @roger-s-maracas @simoneandgarfunkelle @limitededitionautism @adw520 @bibyt76 @nekopatch @music-dreamers @makestheworldtastegood and anyone else who would like to do it :]

Can’t do a read more but I did 500 words just of a short scene bc why not and I’ll do a read more when I get home on a computer. Anyways. Soft stuff with Christopher and William, here we go
William entered the dimly lit room, now only lit by a few candles mounted into the wall behind a large dark wood desk, on either side of towering windows, that in the evening, showed off the most beautiful sunset anyone has ever seen. On the desk there were a lot of things, but all organized to the owners taste. Messy, but the owner knew exactly where everything was in any given pile or in any drawer. And the owner in question was slumped over the desk, head pillowed on his arms and snoring ever so slightly in the quiet room. The prince couldn’t help but to chuckle as he walked farther in, his footsteps light on the solid stone floor of the large library slash study.
Will puts a gentle hand on Christopher’s back, rubbing softly after a moment, the flowy fabric his beloved was wearing shifting like water against his back. For once the elder man was dressed down, as much as he could be. A simple pair of deep black pants that were soft with use, a shirt that was something akin to silk, but so much more, in a deep red, that flowed off of the politicians body, puffing out at the wrists. William leans down to press a kiss to Christopher’s temple, gently touching the bright purple diamond shaped earrings that he wore, a gift from William years ago that he cherished ever so much.
“You’re goin to hurt yourself if you keep at this my dove.” William whispers into Christopher’s ear as he begins to wake, making a slight confused noise as he does so. He rubs his face with his hands, pressing against his eyes for a moment as he wakes more. Christopher opens his eyes and adjusts to the new light, turning ever so slightly to look up at his partner, a soft, contented smile on his face.
“Have I been here that long again?” He asks, his Helimire accent much thicker with sleep.
“Once more I find you sleepin at your desk, when in all technicalities, you’re supposed to be relaxing for the foreseeable future. As said by…. well many.” Christopher gives him a sheepish smile, his hand reaching up to tug gently on deep brown curls.
“I do apologize. You know how I have never been able to be away from any sort of work when I know there is something to do.” He stands and stretches, back popping in a few places. “But I think I can come to bed now, I promise this time-“
“That I will stay in bed for a vacation.” William finishes, making the other man scowl half heartedly.
“Now there is no reason for that.” Christopher shakes his head and chuckles softly after a moment, pressing a hand against the taller man's chest. “But fine. And if I do try to leave this time around, you have permission to do anything in your power to keep me relaxed.”
“Anything?” William asks with a curious tilt of his head and a cheesy grin. Christopher rolls his eyes and stretches his neck to kiss the prince softly.
“We shall see.”
“I’ll take that over anything.” William hooks his arm around Christopher’s, the older man grabbing his can before walking out of the study, extinguishing the last lighted candles with a snap of his fingers as they leave the study, the heavy wooden doors shutting tight behind the two.

10 and 11 for the writing asks?
Has a piece of writing ever “haunted” you? Has your own writing haunted you? What does that mean to you?: Oh easy answer. This one. It means so much to me in that I feel like I haven't wrote anything like it since, and how I wanna get back to that and also that version of Christopher, who is oh so slightly different than who he is now. And I miss that version of him, cynical and mean when he wanted to be. I loved writing that, and I need to get back into practice writing him like that again.
Do you believe in the old advice to “kill your darlings?” Are you a ruthless darling assassin? What happens to the darlings you murder? Do you have a darling graveyard? Do you grieve?: Some of my well beloved characters are ones long dead, Vitalis, Ilias, lovers of Christopher's he loved more than anything in the world. Vitalis died of old age, but Ilias was murdered. Killing characters is a thing I will do and find cathartic in its own way if done well. In a version of Helimire, Morgan is killed because Christopher couldn't save her. In another version of Helimire, Christopher is killed because he let it happen. Sometimes for a story to be good, there's a death to be had.
(The most cathartic and most painful death I've ever read about was a character in what is now my favorite book The Stagsblood Prince, how I was crying in my bed at 3am but it was also just done SO well I loved it at the same time.)

I wish I could like stay active or w/e on my writeblr but I just can’t but more than anything I think it’s because I need to more or less make it an oc blog and or follow more ‘doing this for fun’ styled ones that aren’t super serious bc Helimire is just. It’s for fun, I don’t think I’ll ever write anything to publish for it, but it also quite simply is my baby beloved creation that I want ppl to see
