TF2 Fantacy AU

This is based on a TikTok Video i found of the mercs drawn as Fantasy character so i will using that for what the character look like.

Backstory - In the land of Teufortia, it was a semi peaceful land with the only problem being dragons, evil sorcerers, wild creatures and other things, the main part of Teufortia was the big town and the castle run by a queen called 'Lady Helen the Adminiatrator' with her right hand apprentice, 'Miss.'Fiona' Pauling the Magician', One day, The Lady had a meeting with a Lord named 'Lord Grey Mann' from another land called 'Graymeania', Grey was the new lord to the throne of Graymeania after his 2 older brothers Redmond and Blutarch passed away 'suddenly' (Grey killed them) and now, he was here to threaten the lady to give up her throne so Grey could explains his land and 'make it a safer place from the bad things' which in reality, Grey wanted the land so he could turn into a factory for making robots to defeat all the bad things, the lady didn't like this and she was kidnapped one night by Grey leaving Miss.Pauling to save her but she couldn't do it alone as the land was a dangerous place so she decided to find some people to help her out and save Lady Helen.

Scout the Theif - Scout grew up poor with a single mother and 8 older half brothers so he became a theif just to feed himself and his family, he didn't know who his dad was as he was a one night stand baby who his mother decided to keep despite his half brothers complains and the brothers ended up liking him but they were also starting to leave the home to travel only leaving scout alone with his mother by the time he was 13, Miss.pauling bumps into Scout after seeing him successfully steal a whole bread from a bread shop without getting notice so she decide to recruit him being the second member of her team, Adout fell in love with Miss.Pauling like a girl seeing her seeing her high school crush so he was constantly flirting with her even if she wasn't interested in him or men for that matter, Scout is a great theif and he main weapon is a staff with a hook on the end which help with stealing stuff.

Soldier the Knight - Soldier is a wild Knight who does his own thing, the other castle knights don't like working with him as he is so wild so he became a outcast from the castle knights, he was a good, loyal knight though and he has managed to protect the castle from so many things trying to attack it, his story was that he grew up an orphan with no location on where he parents went and he grew up on survival instincts and using people, the only friend he did have growing up was the blacksmith's son, Engineer and the pair were inseparable being seen together daily, the pair soon realise when they were teens that they had a massive crush on each other so the pair end up dating when Engineer turned 18, the pair soon got secretly married 3 years later and they been together since, Miss.Pauling finds Soldier outside the castle and he ends up being the first one she recruits which was easy as all she had to do was ask if he wanted to come be a hero and he was happy to do it.

Pyro the Goblin - Pyro grew up alone in the woods not knowing anything only that fire was amazing, the area he lives is completely burnt from how much he loves watching fire and he also somehow gained the ability to make fire himself, Miss.Pauling finds Pyro in his home territory and she was about to fight him as he was getting hostile but then stopped getting fascinated by Miss.Pauling's magic as it was sparkly and fascinating, Pyro ends up being the fifth recruit and he ends up being a good fire user.

Demo the Bounty Hunter - Demoman grew up outside Teufortia with just his mother while his father passed away in a tragic accident but moved to the place as his mother kicked him out to get a job, Demo took up the jon of being a Bounty Hunter as it was easy money and it was both targeting humanoids and creatures, Miss.Pauling finds demo at a pub after visiting a new town and after watching fight off a beast that attacked the town, demo became the fourth recruit to Miss.Pauling's team.

Heavy the Orc - Heavy was the strongest orc out of all the orcs, he grew with with a single mom and 3 sisters after his dad died protecting them from the enemy of the orcs, the ogres, when heavy was 15, since then, heavy has been protecting his mom and sisters like his life depends on it which his sisters don't like as he's like a strict dad to them, Miss.Pauling finds heavy after he protected her and the others from a giant boulder and heavy invited them to his hometown, he looked after the group and after some convincing from Miss.Pauling and Heavy's Sisters, heavy decides to join Miss.Pauling's team being the last member of the team, also Miss.Pauling ends up falling in love with Heavy's sisters as they were strong and very attractive in her opinion.

Engineer the BlackSmith - Engineer grew with with his single father, Fred and his grandfather, Radigan, his grandma passed a few months before he was born and his mother passed during childbirth leaving Fred and Radigan to raise Engineer together, Engineer loved both his dad and grandad and he was devastated when Radigan passed away when he was 8 leaving the BlackSmith shop to his dad, Engineer met Soldier when he was 3 and Soldier had just turned 4 after Soldier accidentally caused damaged to the front of the blacksmith shop making Engineer interested in him and when Soldier heard the news that Engineer's grandad passed away, he comforter Engineer untill he fell asleep, Soldier then took Engineer back home carrying Engineer brial style and when Fred sees Soldier holding the sleeping Engineer in his arm, Fred know that Soldier wasn't as bad as he thought he was, When Engineer had his 18th birthday, Fred passed the BlackSmith shop to Engineer as he wanted to retire and Engineer was stunned by the gift and thanked his dad crying happily, Engineer has since run the BlackSmith shop with his childhood friend and husband, Soldier by his side and he had a really good buisness, when Soldier came home one day with Miss.Pauling and Scout, he told Engineer about what was going on and Engineer decided to tag along being the third recruit as his family had history with the Lady Adminiatrator making Soldier happy he was coming along, Soldier then made it his mission to be husband of the decade and protect Engineer like his life depended on it and Engineer really apprenticed it.

Medic the Wizard - Medic is from a land of expert wizard and he was also a expert wizard knowing every magic spell known to wizard kind, the problem with Medic was he was also a little insane as he loved to use his magic to experiment on people making him get kicked out of his hometown when he was 18, Medic traveled around trying to find his place but he never did untill one day he was saved by Sniper after a big scary creature tries to attack him, Medic thanked Sniper for saving him and the pair decided to stick together as both of them were wonders, the pair soon grew to like each other romantically the more they stuck together and soon, the pair were married and have been ever since, Miss.Pauling ends up finding both Medic and Sniper after watching the pair fight a dragon type creature and she decided to recruit them making medic the seventh recruit to Miss.Pauling's team, Medic was not only the wizard of the team but he was also the healer too as his magic could heal anyone from anything.

Sniper the Creature Hunter - Sniper who was a elf grew up with his 'adopted' parents but he preferred to be a lone wolf, he ended up leaving home at 16 a few days after he finished school and went off to train, he was training to be a creature hunter which he ended being really good at getting him loads of money for it, one day, he was sent out to kill a creature and this ends up being the mission where he finds Medic being attacked by the creature he was send out to find, Sniper dealt with the creature then helped Medic as he was a little injured, the pair then decided to stick together and the rest was history for the pair, when Miss.Pauling approached the pair to see if they wanted to join her team, Sniper happily joins as he hadn't had a job in a while and it made him the sixth member of the team with Medic not far after agreeing to join, Sniper was very good using the bow and arrow but he was also good with big knifes as well as a defence

Spy the Assassin - Spy is a mystery character as there was not much about him other then he was a really good assassin and he was hired a lot by people, he was originally hired by grey to kill Miss.Pauling and her team which he would happily do but when he saw the team and saw that one of the recruits was his son, Scout, he decided to change sides being the eighth member of the team, spy was a really good assassin and he got his job done easily and quickly, he hides knifes in his sleeves and he was also a bit of a lone wolf like Sniper but Sniper was now less of a lone wolf as he had Medic, Spy knew about Scout being his son after his girlfriend and scout mom told him he was pregnant, Spy was also there for most of Scout's life but he kept himself hidden to support Scout from a distance.

Miss.Pauling the Magician - Miss.Pauling is a magician in training that was hired by Lady Adminiatrator to be her right hand apprentice, Lady Adminiatrator thought Miss.Pauling many spells and Miss.Pauling looked up to Lady Adminiatrator as a teacher and somewhat a mother figure, Miss.Pauling grew up looking after herself as her mom was always busy and her dad was most of the time absent as he was busy at work, Miss.Pauling was about to learn this powerful spell and also learn some backstory about Lady Administrator but then Lady Administrator gets kidnapped so Miss.Pauling goes to rescue her after reading a letter from her and Miss.Pauling hopes she doesn't fail her teacher.

I would like to know what happened with Dior and Helene before she died

For sure! So with Dior his background is basically just spoiled rotten French Prince. The Beast with no character development + a downward spiral into despotism.

But Hélène 's story is that she was a child from the Everrealm traded to Rumplestiltskin, one of those "I'll help you out of the dark woods you're lost in if you promise to give me the thing you have that you don't know you have" fairytales where it turns out the thing is a baby on the way. Oopsies.

She's kept as a servant by him in his castle, and she isn't treated horribly but she isnt really loved either. She's a tool in his arsenal to be used for later, whenever having a random beautiful girl on hand might be useful.

I feel like there were a few times she played the fairytale role of "beautiful girl kept in the monster's castle that helps the hero steal the thing he needs o learn the secret he needs to learn to fulfill his quest" and she was swept off her feet each time thinking this time this prince/millar's son/theif would sweep her away to her Happily Ever After--but they never did.

So by the time Rumplestiltskin asks her if she'd like to be a queen for a man who'd prize her like a precious jewel she readily agreed, and took her place as Dior's wife. Realizing soon after that he'd only ever value her for her beauty and the fact that he could possess it.

By then she was convinced that True Love as talked about in stories didn't really exist, and was resigned to her life. Even when she chanced to meet a wandering Enchantress, this powerful being could not summon a up a True Love for her. (Though this was more due to Rumplestiltskin's magical bonds over her obscuring the Enchantress's magic then any true lack of potential for her to find one)

Her happiest moments were when she could spend time with her son, Adam. She often took him with her to their summer palace where they could be with the kind staff she'd chosen herself and away from the backstabbing gossiping court life her husband prefered.

But unfortunately when Adam was 9 she fell ill from a sickness crossing the land and died, leaving him to fall under the sole care of his father, who eventually stuck him in the summer palace permanently until he could be old enough to be useful.

Due to his grief from his loss of his mother and rejection by his father Adam began to lash out at his caretakers, and to act more like his father in hopes this would meet his approval and he'd be taken back by the only parent he had left.

Unfortunately his worsening temper landed him afoul of a powerful Enchantress, who in her own grief over discovering the loss of her friend lashed out and cursed the young prince and all within his palace...

Also it wasn't intentional to have her be all dressed in gold and Belle having a gold dress, Hélène 's gold was meant to be reflective of her link to Rumplestiltskin and Dior, but I kinds really like the idea that Belle's ballgown once belonged to Hélène

So yeah that's the backstory for the Beast's mother!

Behind the Fic: Canon and Beyond - The Trappola Family

I'm still working on my college assignment, but I decided to take a small free time before my afternoon class. I'm currently trying to build the Heartslabyul boys' family member, so far only Deuce left.

This note is for our Ace Trapolla. Remember, this is borderline Canon-Divergence.

The Trappola family is a high class family. However they are not the same level as Rosehearts-almost-noble-family. They are just rich

The Trappola family is based around playing-cards, more specifically the heart-royal flush in Poker.

A personal nickname for the family is "Heartbreaker", which is an alternative name for flush-heart in poker. Mostly because nearly every member of this family had done something out-of-place

The royal flush consist of five cards: ten, jack, queen, king, and ace. So, Ace's family has five members: a father, a mother, two sons, and a grandmother.

All of the Trapolla family names is related to a playing-card nickname.

Father: Charlemagne Trappola

Charlemagne Trappola, or just "Charles", is Ace's father. 

He is a well-known author. However, his works are a bit controversial. Within the wackiness of Rose Kingdom, Charles' work centered around suicide, sex, and many depressing theme. Now, he works as a translator.

The name "Charlemagne" and "Charles" are alternative names for "King of Heart".

In addition, for his many suicidal stories, Charles gained the nickname "Suicide King"

I imagine his mannerships are similar to Bungou Stray Dogs' Dazai Osamu

Mother: Judith Trappola

Judith Trappola (nee Troy), in Ace's mother.

She's often known as a beautiful woman. Though, underneath that mask, is a wicked witch.

During her youth, she was kind of a black widow, breaking so many hearts with her charms and looks, and leaving so many ‘pigs’ after a one night stand. But she always got away with it, acting so innocent, sometimes even tricking that she was the victim.

Judith is actually quite good at sewing. 

She works as a boutique, making beautiful dress. Said boutique is the royal family's favorite.

The name "Judith" is an alternative name for "Queen of Heart". 

Her last name 'Troy' is from "Helen of Troy", which is also an alternative name for "Queen of Heart". 

First Son: Hook Trappola

Hook Trappola is Ace's older brother

Hook, during his years in Night Raven College, became the vice prefect, and later the prefect of Heartslabyul

The boy is charismatic and has a handsome face, able to charms many women and men

He's probably a theater kid too

He's also quite a genius, able to stay in the top five rank of all students.  The only thing slowing him down is his loves for card tricks.

Hook teaches Ace everything he knew about card tricks and magic tricks. He's able to point out the secret behind each tricks and what spell they uses.

If you ask him what he want to do, he might say that he wants to be an actor.

But, in reality, he already has a job

He's a freelancer, gentleman theif by the nickname "La Hire". If you need something to steal, just call him and he'll hold a grand heist that not even the Rose Kingdom's knight can catch him

The name "Hook" and "La Hire" are alternative names for "Jack of Heart".

The main inspiration for Hook is Kaito Kid/Kaito Kuroba

Second Son: Ace Trappola

Mostly around Ace, we already know from canon.

He once had a girlfriend, but broke up. Though they still have good relationship as friends.

Ace wants to be a royal detective when he graduates, mostly because he’s quite good in analyzing magic and tricks, thanks to the private teaching from Hook

He already knows about Hook’s other persona and declare himself as his big brother’s ultimate rival: the detective and the thief (a reference to Shinichi Kudou/Conan Edogawa and Kaito Kid/Kaito Kuroba’s dynamic) 

He’s pointed by as the Heartslabyul Vice Prefect when Trey steps down in his forth year.

Later, Riddle steps down in his forth year and hands the role as prefect to Ace in his third year. Ace later points Deuce as the vice prefect

It’s all depend on what will happen in canon, whether he will Overblot or not. However, he can overblot, however the reasoning is still unknown.

Maybe the Ace Trappola we know and love is all just a facade...

Grandmother: Dime Trappola

Dime Trappola is a 100 years-old-lady and Ace's grandmother

A tarot reader, he can see one's part, present or future. Whether you want to believe or not, it's up to you.

A lovely lady, but a bit harsh with young kids. Anytime some bunch of kids running pass their house when she's on the terrace, she would glare at them, scaring them off. Even Ace was scared of her when he was a child

The name "Dime" is an alternative name for "Ten".

Note that both Dime and Ace are the only members whose name doesn't technically related to a heart-card

Also, compare to Charles, Judith, and Hook, Ace and Dime seemed to be the most innocent of the members.

It's almost 3am & I'm emotional about the VM wedding so naturally I've just started thinking about a Perc'ahlia Queen's Theif AU. I just... can't decide who I want to be Gen. They've both got enough "impossible is for other people", but Percy is more the jackass. On the other hand Percy as Attolis having had all his family die & being shuffled into a political marriage feeling trapped and angry is v good. Also Vax would make such a good Helen "are you SURE"ing at Vex about the plan

ooooooh that’s so tough. On one hand, the Keyleth-Percy dynamic would work REALLY well with Keyleth as Eddis and Percy as her Thief? But I think such a core aspect of Attolia and her plot is that she’s alone, or at least, she thinks she is (even with Relius, Teleus and the whole guard, all her ladies...) and I can no more separate Vax from Vex than I can call down the sun, so...yeah. And then there’s the issue that Vax is really the thief, isn’t he...but in terms of characters, it’s by far better that Vax is Eddis and Percy Attolis, his whole family killed around him, building these terrible weapons because anything he can do to protect his country...and Vex the Thief of Eddis and Keyleth the young and untried heir of Sounis...maybe not a bunny but a kitten, and a killer at need...

For gender dynamic reasons, I don’t like to take the thrones of Eddis and Attolia away from the incredible queens, but g o d wow okay just...

Vex: I’m not my brother. People don’t just give me their hearts.Keyleth, internally: ??? I would hand you my heart on a toothpick??

oh no, oh god. Vex with a hand to her side to hide the blood, meeting Percy in the courtyard and pulling him down into a kiss, and he lets her, leans into it like a man happy only to kiss his wife. Vex (one-handed) pulling Percy into a dance, spinning him around her, and plucks the pins from his cloak with each turn until it it spins out with him (the mercurial queen the weight at the center of the earth, the king in his red cloak a fire in the wind)

Queen’s Thief Fic Recs

For @little-berenice who just finished Megan Whalen Turner’s Queen’s Thief series and loved it and wanted to know if I had any fic recs to tide her over until May. I may....have a few. :) All links to AO3.

Letting Go by Ghostie (Queen's Thief, Gen, Eugenidies the God, Moira, Queen Thief) The Queen Thief is dancing on the rooftop, calloused toes flipping deftly across the slates. Eugenides stands invisible beside her, watching her spin and twirl against the sky. She’s beautiful like this, he reflects. So graceful, so joyful, so human. So much more than just another mortal tool.

Her Lovely Face Gleaming Like a White Poppy by loathlylady (Queen's Thief, Attolia, Eddis, Gen, Sophos, Phresine, Magus) The paths which Attolia and Eddis take are both paved with loss, but the ways they walk those paths are very different. An amazing non-linear fic about the lost brothers of both Queens and the way they remember them, and the path that lays before them. Great backstory for both.

The Servant by jadelennox (Queen's Theif, Attolia, Phresine, Eugenides) Post-Queen of Attolia. Phresine!!! a book unfinished by VegaOfTheLyre (Pre-canon, Minister of War/Queen Thief) When the minister of war meets the King's Thief's daughter for the first time in years, it is not under the most favourable of circumstances. Oh, man. Great look at what Eugenides' mom might have been like, and how the serious, stable Minister of War might have fallen for a Thief. The Princess of Eddis by TL (Pre-canon, gen, Helen, Irene) Helen's only experiences with princesses come from herself and the histories. An imagined first meeting between Helen and Irene. I love the tension here of how different they are, and yet similar, and how in different circumstances, maybe they could have been friends. A Temporary Inability to Go Up or Down by lightgetsin (Queen of Attolia, gen, Eugenides, Eddis, Magus) Eugenides was not stuck. This is a missing scene of Eugenides making his decision to go up or down after Attolia's punishment. Eddis' understanding of him and Eugenides' conversation with the gods as he clings to the side of a tower are just fabulous and so well-drawn. Lovely, lovely, lovely. The Best Interest of Nations by pendrecarc (Mid-'King of Attolia', gen, Magus, Eddis, Minister of War) In which a story is told, swords are drawn, and adventures are planned, but nobody arranges a cart. This fic has a great voice and style. I could easily imagine it as a cut-scene from the books. I think I would have sub-titled this fic 'How the Magus got his groove back'. It's a nice look at how he comes to make his choices in 'A Conspiracy of Kings'. Plus, Eddis and the Minister of War are particularly well-drawn as well. Epithalamium by yunitsa (King of Attolia, Attolia/Eugenides) A Pindaric ode in honour of a wedding. All you need to know about this glorious, painful, beautiful, lovely fic are these lines: "She had been frozen and the thawing hurt, like a hundred stabbing knives. He spoke her name, drawing away for the space of a breath, and in his mountain accent it sounded like ice breaking." Guh. The Landscape After Cruelty by elanne (King of Attolia, Attolia/Eugenides) A story, say the people, of the god Eugenides, how he came down from the mountains – not in a blaze of flames, but with an outstretched hand. This is not a simple pairing. They have guilt and pain and cruelty between them and will perhaps never be fully easy with the lives they have to live. All of which is why I love them to bits. This fic does such a great job of dealing with all of that, not glossing over anything, but still leaving them intact with their personalities and affections. my secrets are doors by Fahye (Attolia, Attolia/Eugenides) As a young girl, the queen of Attolia thought about the manner in which love might strike her. A look at Attolia's uneasy relationship with love and growing up and where Eugenides fits in. A Token for a Token by Miri Cleo (King of Attolia, Attolia/Eugenides) Gen is still a thief at heart, and it is best not to offend the gods or one's wife. A fun little romp, with Eugenides being Eugenides and Attolia being Attolia. Everybody Rolls With Their Fingers Crossed by redbrunja (King of Attolia, Attolia, Attolia/Eugenides) The most inept assassination attempt of Attolia's reign occurred three days after her marriage. Ha! Attolia kicking ass and being generally awesome. With bonus Eugenides. The King's Guard by Lesserstorm (Post-King of Attolia, gen, Costis, Teleus, Relius, Aris, Eugenides, Attolia) Costis is just glad to be a squad leader again, even if Aris does say he's starting to think like a politician. I love Costis, and this is a great look at how and why Eugenides chose him. And how he's kidding himself if he thinks the king will ever be done shaping him into a useful tool.

Ere by chalia (King of Attolia, Attolia, Eugenides, Relius) “Ere translates as love, a rather ruthless love, not mercy. . . The Great Goddess of Eddis is not known for her mercy.” Attolia would never confuse love with mercy. Absolutely amazing in every way. This is why I love Attolia. THIS.
