What if Seidr is Gullveig and Heidr is a red herring? It might explain why Gullveig is the icon for book 7 despite her being the antagonist.

Besides the fact that Seidr did not recognized Kvasir as Heidr.
Oh I didn't think of that part. Yeah Kvasir does look a little more like Seidr. The only trait she seems to share with Heidr is having the orange eye on the right, But we don't know what color Kvasir's other eye is since it covered by her hair.
Though it is understandable to speculate Heidr is Gulliveg based off design elements. Heck, turns there were people who figured out Lif was another version of Alfonse based off design elements back in Book III. Not to mention Gulliveg and Heidr's Norse counterparts are the same person. So Heidr seems like a possibly if they're trying to reference myth. But Heidr becoming Gulliveg would be a backwards version of myth, since in the myth Gulliveg was reborn as Heidr after her third time being burned.
Though for all we know Gulliveg could be pulling a Xehanort. But that's probably not likely. Kvasir did talk about needing to complete her mission so there the possibly there might be a different big bad behind her that set her on this path.
But I have seen a post where someone thinks Heidr is a red herring and Seidr will be the one to become Gullivieg. Though it was based on the fact that Gullivieg is the current game icon instead of Seidr. Though one other possibility is that could back that up is the fact that Seidr is a green unit. And most final boss feh villians tend to green units. But one the other hand they did mix it up a little in Book VI by having Embla be red.
But another detail that could back up that theory is when Kvasir gives you the choice she tells you not to lie and Seidr has a castle quote saying you should never lie to a goddess.
My first thought about the gold Breidablik was wondering if was what it looked like in the past. Though there is a chance it might have some kind of rite performed on to give that look. Since I think it was the heart's rite that made Lif's Breidablik black. I'm wondering the gold one has power up that can kill Gullivieg and prevent her coming back via rewinding time. Now I'm wondering whoever becomes Gullivieg performed a rite on it wanting the Summoner to have a way to stop them since they know they know they won't be able to stop themselves if they become Gullivieg. Though that's a just theory and I could be wrong.
I don't really have ideas on who could have left it there. Though with it this being a time travel plot there might be time line where the Summoner had it and lost it. But yeah there is a chance Veronica could play apart in all this since she always joins in at some point. So she could be another possible candidate for performing a rite on Breidablik to make it that gold color.
Questions on the new chapter.
This chapter leaves me with more questions than answers of course. I see that many people lean for Heidr to be Gullveig or for Gullveig to be our daughter , but I see no one remembers some points Seidr has told us herself. Besides the fact that Seidr did not recognized Kvasir as Heidr.
Not long after she meet us she says and I am paraphrasing here because my game is in Spanish. " You remind me of someone I met in my childhood." Later on she obtains the power of light and proceeds to use it to Ta Ta!!... travel back in time.
Then there is Kvasir. She sounds like her memory has been erased. She does not remember who told her what she commented to the Summoner, but she knows about the future of course. Did she came to that conclusion when the Summoner told her about what was going on or did she have a vision of the future like Seidr?
And look at her appearance! She looks more like Seidr here than she looks like Heidr or Gullveig. The hair, the crystals!
So what if Heidr has the curse but Seidr being her loving and protective sister goes on to take the curse on herself thus becoming Gullveig?
Still I would be so funny is that hood she is wearing is because she inherited that from the Summoner, if she ends up being their child!
Me to Alfonse: Aww how cute! Look! She has my hood!
Then there is the question of Breidablik . Since our Breidablik is white and gold and Lif's is black and gold...Why does this girl has the two of them and makes you choose one of the two?
Someone else has gone back in time. My first thought was: Veronica of course because she always does end up in the same place we are no matter where we are. Loki may have taken her...but!
Who else do I know that has gone back in time and has become evil and has wanted to end his own self? Lif. He may be dead but he is still well, a mortal and not a God. So...is it him or Vero? Is the picture of the two sacred guns a foreshadow of Seidr turning into Gullveig and trying to do a Lif on her past self?
Is the black Breidablik Lif's and he is trying to take it back?
I know I may most probably be wrong but it is so much fun to speculate and make up scenarios form what I see are mostly forgotten pieces of information.
Pretty sure Alfonse knows who it is by now but...he is keeping it a secret.
