I know I’m not the only disc nerd to be baffled and annoyed at the number of fans who recently revealed themselves to have missed the point of the books by a mile or so, but now I think about it we shouldn’t really have been surprised. This platform supports many large groups of people who have impressively and creatively misunderstood basic morals in children’s media. It’s not really a shock that there are people who looked at the multi-layered narratives in Discworld and went “heehoo, funny name go brrr”. Annoying and disappointing, but not shocking.
