The room remained silent, otherwise. Even Kazui and Shidou, who’d been struck themselves, continued their card game in peace.

“Why is no one else upset about this?”

Kotoko turned a page. “Because we’re not scared of a fifteen year old.”

“Tch, neither am I!” He said quickly. “That doesn’t mean they have the right to do it. Cruel, sexist brat…”

Mahiru’s cheery tone wasn’t the best to soothe him, but that didn’t stop her from trying. “I think they’re doing their best for being in such a frightening situation themself. They’re probably afraid of us as murderers. Though… what makes them sexist?”

“All the men got hit in their interrogations!”

Mahiru flashed a reassuring, and completely oblivious, smile. “They didn’t hit you.”

Fuuta's ears went as red as his uniform belts.

He muttered, “that’s not important,” before raising his voice once more. “What really matters is that this stupid prison is making them drunk on power! Next trial, I swear I’m gonna…”

but the three of you wouldnt be close….

donghyuck literally had to choose you or mark bc,,,

when you and mark were together you guys would be so awkward and borderline hateful

it seemed to donghyuck like you were competing for his friendship

but it was never something he’d confront

like it all started when donghyuck over scheduled himself MEANING he had to decide between chilling with you or mark

so then the jealously began

and every time you saw mark you got a little hostile

and mark wasnt nearly as mad as you BC HE GOT TO SEE DONGHYUCK MORE OFTEN

so he would just feed in to the nonsense by saying something equally as mean or worse

and after a while youd literally ignore mark

eventually youd tell donghyuck how upset it made you that he forgot about the arcade plans 

he was one of your closest friends and you depended very much on his company  WOW SOft hours have BEEN ENTERED

like he was one of the people you could talk to about anything

AND THE MORe he saw how marks presence affected your mood the more distant he got from you both

bc he didnt want you sad

so one day mark would see you commencing your walk home and hed storm towards you

MARK WOULD BE SO MAD n hed snatch your headphones out for your attention

youd be so shocked and your eyebrows would furrow

lemme tell you he’d go off on you

youd have tears in your eyes bc you missed him but mark had a point 

donghyuck was human and he literally made one little mistake that you blew out of proportion

and it made mark seem like a bad guy even tho donghyucks the one who chose to hang out with him

SO all you could say was “sorry” before you start to walk away and cry

AND MARK WOULD JUST STAND AND WATCH WITH HIS DOE EYES BEFORE FOLLOWING YOU

and youd be so done like ‘IS HE SERIOUS?”

SO HED MAKE YOU TURN AROUND

and hed go “Also why couldn’t I establish the relationship I wanted with you? You ruined it for us in so many ways.” hed drop his arms to his side

before you could speak again he’d go,,, “I thought you were cute and I was gonna ask you out but you treated be so viscously, I got quite defensive and I’m sorry but I still don’t know why you hate me so bad.”

and youd start to feel bad,,, wondering if you and mark played nice would donghyuck return

SO THATs exactly whatd you do….

and mark would tell you to disregard the stuff about liking you bc hed just “say that was for the dramatics”

 youd literally feel so strange

but donghyuck would notice you two getting along

and now the both of you managed to hang out with him at the same time

BUT one day when donghyuck sets up movie night mark would catch you in the kitchen alone

n you’d be super confused 

but hed tell you that he seriously did like you 

he noticed how soft and caring you can be

and he saw how well you took care of yourself and how kind you can be

and hed even kiss you like hed always wanted to

definitely the type to secretly hold hands under blankets and sneak glances at you

initially donghyuck would not pick up on it

but later hed see mark cupping your face in a V NON-PLATONIC WAY

but hed keep it to himself bc you guys came a very far way and this means less fights over him looool
