i do really love that the only actual interaction henrydeclan have beyond the Implications is when Henry IMMEDIATELY airs out declan's carefully kept secrets to gansey after a whole speech about how he's been keeping his mom's secrets for years and knows their value. unbelievably petty behavior to the extent that there HAD to be beef do you guys hear the voices too

Is there a universe in which we both get chengsey pre canon exes and heclan post canon ??? happening? If so do you think they compare each other to one another

wym "is there a universe" heclan & chengsey occur simultaneously in 85% of every known universe, the major difference is the sequencing and whether there's overlap

I think they do compare but it IS also mostly declan seething in rage at henry picking gansey over him (he would not pick henry over Jordan either) + henry kind of wishing gansey sucked more so he could be like declan . if I must house md metaphor it, declan and henry are house and Cuddy, perpetually locked in a workplace harassment lawsuit; and gansey and henry are like, a normal relationship or as normal as one can get for henry

OH sorry I reread it and you ARE correct in that it is statistically rarer for heclan to occur AFTER chengsey. let me think for a sec. OK I would say this depends on when the chengsey relationship occurs. if it's exes precanon then I think heclan goes on relatively uncontested because sarchengsey are mostly just friends. if chengsey become exes after the ROAD TRIP though... hoo hoo hoo. that's one of my favorite heclans because gansey is in the back clutching his glass of mint vodka TIGHT and gloomily blaring silver springs while henry minds his own business. nobody is more salty about heclan than gansey. he CANNOT pretend to have a moral high ground. either way henry is not comparing declan to gansey beyond trying to irritate declan but declan himself is CONSTANTLY comparing himself to gansey. something something truth and honesty given freely and a debate about its value

anyways i hope you know that in that one bllb scene with bluesey randomly running into Henry in the middle of the road... he was absolutely about to do some insanely shady shit & panicked so bad at being caught out.

imagine youre doing your mafia day job at ass o clock at night youre already annoyed about it and what else do you hear but that godawful WHIRRRRRRRR of the famous Pig car engine down the road. now you have to pretend youre here for totally normal reasons except this beautiful stupid white boy is so insistent on helping you so you take his phone so he can feel better. you are sweating so bad.

notes: declan was also there to help with body disposal & at aforementioned WHIRRRR his two options were to swan dive into a ditch OR get into the trunk with the Suspiciously Human Shaped Taped Parcel. obviously he chooses the former & the second gansey drives off declan scrabbles back up just covered in dirt and spitting leaves
