True to the forecast, several areas, including Sion, Dadar, Andheri, and Kurla, witnessed inundation. Transport Woes

The waterlogged tracks forced the cancellation and delay of several local trains, the lifeline for millions of Mumbaikars. The Central Railway and Western Railway services were particularly affected, with many trains running significantly behind schedule or being halted altogether. Commuters stranded at various stations expressed frustration, with many unable to reach their workplaces or return home.

BEST buses, another critical mode of transport, faced severe disruptions. Multiple routes had to be diverted due to waterlogged streets, leaving commuters to find alternative means of transportation. The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) officials stated that they were closely monitoring the situation and making adjustments to routes as necessary to ensure passenger safety.

In a move to ensure the safety of children, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) declared a holiday for all schools in Mumbai. The decision was taken early in the morning, following reports of severe waterlogging in several parts of the city. Rescue and Relief Operations

The BMC, along with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), has been actively engaged in rescue and relief operations.
