I'm curious- what are the non-dateable characters aside from Diavolo like in this universe? If they're different at all.
They are very much different, and I love them with my whole and entire heart. Barbatos is detailed in the ‘Demons as Demons’ post, so I’ll skip him. There’s also a demon!Simeon post, and demon!Simeon is available for requests. However, for this post, we’ll do what the undateables would be like if directly translated.
Simeon
Cherubim.
Friendly reminder that angels are terrifying beings.
MC literally never gets a break from the constant barrage of horror in their lives.
Simeon definitely does not help that.
His human-like form is ethereally beautiful, MC can’t help how they stare, lost in the warm brown of his skin, the gentle curve of his plump lips. and by God, they could stare into his eyes for hours without noticing the time pass. They wish that was exaggeration. They’ve been punished for such distraction.
His true form is less appealing. An amalgamation of two sets of wings, four faces (a lion, an ox, a human, and an eagle), with bull-like hooves, and a body so brightly outlined in Heaven’s glow that it becomes impossible to make out what the center of him is meant to be.
It burns MC’s eyes and leaves them bleeding from every orifice in their face to glance upon his true presence for more than a quick moment. Simeon does not seem to notice. MC struggles to look away.
He is loyal to Heaven to a fault, and carries out all orders given by God or his superiors without hesitation.
Because angels are warriors. Simeon is a warrior. There is no room for doubt, or pause, or weakness. The ranks of Heaven have killed more than any demon, and MC would do best to remember it.
But he’s kind enough, in that he is not actively trying to have them killed, and in the Devildom, that is the best you can ask for.
Will not make an alliance with MC, as they have nothing to offer, and will not protect them. In conversation though, even such slim safety as his presence is reassuring to the human.
“Pray for salvation, MC, and perhaps God will grant you mercy here.”
Luke
Currently the lowest level of angel, which is referred to as, well, Angel.
He is still young. Thousands of years old by human standards, but still a child to Heavenly creatures.
His human form is small, and gentle. Skin so pale it is nearly translucent, hair so blonde that it is the same. His eyes are a pale blue, he could almost be blind. But he will grow to be beautiful, MC can see it, in a way that does not hold any edges.
Luke’s angel form is still so simplistic, not yet earned his full body. He appears as only a large eye, with a set of wings, ringed in pale light. It does not hurt as much, to see him, but they always awake the next morning with a headache that feels as though it could split their brain in two.
He is still in training. Spending his free time with Simeon learning angelical history or practicing with weapons for when he is finally named a full fledged warrior like his mentor.
Luke refuses to interact with demons, and follows Simeon as if he was his shadow. This keeps him out of trouble, and away from those that would manipulate or corrupt such a young angel.
When MC speaks to him, he tries to be kind, but kind is not simple for an angel borne for battle. They are known for being blunt, and straightforward. There is no time in war for prose. Luke has yet to learn that lesson in its entirety.
MC will ask him for help, an alliance, knowing Simeon will have to follow to protect the young one. But MC isn’t even seconds to Luke’s age, and he is not so foolish.
“You? I can’t help you. I’m in training to serve God.”
Solomon
King Solomon the Wise.
Not yet to the full power he is destined to have.
After all, one day he will have 700 wives, and 72 pacts.
He spends most of his time forging deals and contracts, studying, or spending time with demons.
In fact, he’s really the only exchange student to take full advantage of a year in the Devildom.
His agenda is furthered more in the first few months than it ever had been before.
Solomon’s appearance is the same, really. A gorgeous man with white hair and a soft laugh that makes MC’s knees buckle.
But something isn’t quite right about him.
He’s always up to something. Not that MC would know what, he mostly ignores them unless they have a good reason to gain his attention.
Solomon has a collection of magical artifacts that invoke him. No one has gotten close to them, despite numerous and ridiculously elaborate attempts.
The magic he knows only seems to grow stronger every day. Most fear it is already too late to stop him. He is scarily intelligent, there just hasn’t been a question he could not answer, or a problem he could not solve. More than that, he is wise. He does not just have the information, he uses it.
Actually can cook, considering he gains one of his wives through cooking, but doesn’t desire to waste time with his turn every few days so he just occasionally makes something terrible to keep people from asking him.
Is often seen with Asmodeus or Barbatos, who provide him insight as he works to build his kingdom, even while knowing that it will not survive past him. But what matter is that? He’s been alive much longer than nature allows.
“I don’t have time for this. I’m afraid I have obligations above your petty fears.”
