{ ☽ } Only a few months had passed since the Diviner had been saved from Xehanort. He hadn't been out of the room Yen Sid had offered him in the tower aside from doing mission work. He'd been socially awkward growing up, but now it was heightened, especially since he was rather sure he wasn't even truly welcome or trusted here, at least not by all. He didn't expect forgiveness for his actions as Saïx, whether they'd been influenced by Xehanort or not. They certainly weren't forgivable but... he wanted to help them in the fight against him, whether he was a light or not.

That night he happened to be out of his room. After another sleepless night, he'd given up and made his way outside. It was nearing the full moon, and Isa soon made himself comfortable against a tree to watch it, his gaze soon distant.

The Space Between

The space behind the door was dark and cold; an inky blackness that consumed all light that filtered through. A chill ran up Zuko’s spine as he stood before the gaping, ethereal void. The longer the fire prince stared through the brass door frame into the darkness behind, the large key in his hand grew heavier and heavier.

Not even a week ago this door had appeared before the Gates of Azulon. As a crowd of curious onlookers gathered, the brass door swung wide open, and dark creatures flowed out like an inky-black wave. They soon swarmed the Fire Nation, bringing with them mayhem and chaos. 

Zuko and his friends helped Aang enter the spirit world, and he brought back with him the large key that Zuko now held. This key was necessary in restoring balance to the world. 

The fire prince shook his head, his yellow eyes glancing at the key. This job really should belong to Aang, but as the Avatar, he was the only one capable of holding back the creatures, the heartless, the spirits called them. So here he was. Taking the advice of an ancient spirit and stepping into a seemingly endless void to who-knows-where. Taking a deep breath, Zuko returned his gaze to the darkness, and stepped inside. As he did, the copper door slammed shut behind him.

Zuko didn’t know how long he wandered in the darkness before he saw the light. It was dim and distant, but its presence brought Zuko hope. Gritting his teeth, he picked up the pace, desperate for answers... direction... anything! Stepping into the light, Zuko heard a sharp crack at his feet. He barely had a chance to glance down before the ground beneath him shattered, and he plummeted downwards, landing hard on stained glass pillar. Groaning, he pushed himself into a sitting position, rubbing his head. It was then that he realized that he wasn’t alone. Zuko’s eyes widened as he observed his companion, and the ancient spirit’s final warning echoed in his head, “Beware the silver-haired man.”

Riku stared deadpan at the wall, enduring the poking. Actually, he was surprised at his own patience even after watching over Ven under house arrest for this long.

“You’re here until Master Yen Sid gets back from the mission. If anyone can help your friend, it’s him.”

In the meantime, Riku had to make sure Ven didn’t do anything stupid again. Though apparently he wasn’t entertaining enough. That wasn’t really fair, since he’d made a couple attempts at conversation. Riku wasn’t much for small talk so it died whenever he didn’t have anything to say anymore.

“Something you need to talk about?”

                        ✣ 「 ヴェン」 ❦❧ ─ If Ventus wasn’t pouting before, he certainly was not. Ashamed it went lost on the young Keyblade Master staring holes into the wall. Blue eyes staring in defiant at that statement. “You’re wrong. Master Yen Sid may be powerful, but he won’t bring Terra back. Not when he’s missing something.” Placing his hand onto his chest; his H E A R T , it was a touchy topic when it involved his stray friend, the one they lost to darkness. “It’s something you’re familiar with Riku. Because Sora brought you out of it.” Or had Riku forgotten, Ventus had twelve years of memories being within Sora’s heart?

              “My bond with Terra. Aqua’s bond with Terra.  It’s only us, who can reach into him,” Into that cluster of Black Abyss and pull out their lost friend. from happy, the blond frowned and bites onto his bottom lip. “I know everyone is helping.” But no one here can to the fallen Earth Master like his two best friends. Their Hearts were  C o n n e c t e d  after all.

             Clenching his fists onto his pants, glaring down onto the fabric, visionary staring to blur and glazed over with on coming tears of frustration. “I .. I understand I’m not strong enough yet,” Darkness deals much more damages to him than to others as Ventus, a being of purest Light, lacks a spec of Darkness within his heart, a Yang without a Yin, of course he would have no resistant to the opposite attribute as others. Rendering him at his weakest and yet strongest against it. “And that my Heart is only half.  Xehanort would all but readily to destroy me,” and how easily it would been too, especially when he had been searching for Ven in Castle of Oblivion before. Only to let out a sigh, a soft smile made its way onto his lips.

                     “But I’m not giving up... I just.. have to strengthen my Heart, right?”

The problem is that the other Princesses of Hearts aren’t fighters. They’re brave, certainly, but I don’t think they can help Kairi develop any special abilities that being a Princess of Heart has...”

The masked woman stood before him uncrosses her arms as they summoned their keyblade. She inwardly sighs and thinks, So that’s how it is.  Her right-hand is lifted up and the Heartsickness keyblade is summoned to her hand. If the boy wanted to fight through her then a fight he would get and the masked woman is not going to hold back her swings.

“You can say that.” answered the Ghostly Guardian, readying herself into her fighting position, exhaling a low whistle. Two enormous wolves, one with a body of darkness and the other a body of silver flame, step up behind her and stare him down with amber eyes. The dark wolf lowers his head and loops under her free arm so that she can absentmindedly scratch his head. 

It is the silver wolf who visibly growls at him before throwing in her own telepathic input, Do you have a death wish, boy?
