Simmer - Is your f/o a coffee or a tea person?

Vitae prefers black and herbal teas over coffee. I don't think I have ever seen them consume it.

Tether loves tea as well, but I have seen them drink coffee from time to time. Especially if they're working on a project for Deadman.

Baste - Does your f/o like sweets?

They adore sweet things. Cakes, pastries, candies, all of them.

Tether loves dark chocolate and sweets that aren't too over baringly sweet.

Roast - How spicy can your f/o handle their food?

I have seen Vitae consume peppers so high on the scale and not flinch. So I would assume to say they can handle any spice you throw at them.

Tether loves eating spicy food. Personally, it is too much for my pallet. But they will usually order the highest spice level to foods if it's available. They'll be tearing up and sweating but enjoying it just the same.

Well hello there Val! It is good to hear from you again, friend. Thank you for the ask!

Good Afternoon, the ask is appreciated. We apologize that it has taken us this long to answer.

World Formula - does your partner have any unique abilities or powers? Tell us about them! If not, tell us about a power you think would suit them.

Goodness, yes! Tether has DOOMs on the same level as our good friend Fragile, and is a repatriate. They are a very unique individual I would say.

Codi does not have abilities per say, but they do have the tendency to attract ghosts who need help if that counts.

Senate - do you confide in your partner or are there some secrets you can't share with them? Are there other people you confide in besides your partner?

It used to be before we fully accepted our fates and moved on from our trauma that we barely spoke about certain subjects. But now, we both confide in each other almost everything and anything. The three people I can say I truly confide in besides Tether would be Sam, Fragile, and Deadman. I think they would say the same.

Secrets are something I generally do not tend to keep. I tend not to share some information with others that aren't suitable for conversation. However, I do converse with Codi about specific things more so than my fellow Ghostbusters. I tend to confide in both them and Ray over Peter and Winston however, since I would say I am closer with those two.

Altus - what is your home life with your partner like? Do you two live together? If so, where? How do you split up chores? What is an ordinary day in your home like? If you don't live together, do you want to?

Home life is generally quiet nowadays post the Amelie incident. We're both extremely domestic and it's been lovely spending time together with them. We do live together in my lab up in the mountains. Since we're both extremely clean people, there's barely any chores for us to do besides dishes. An ordinary day is simply: breakfast that either I or Tether prepare, lab work/research, lunch, catching up with our colleagues, more research, dinner, relaxation time.

Codi and I have been living together long before we started our courtship due to them getting hired as a Ghostbuster. We currently reside in the firehouse Peter, Ray, and I had bought in the early beginnings of our paranormal investigating. All of us have assigned chores for the week that we switch between. Our home life sometimes is non-existent since we usually are out on jobs and we barely get time to ourselves at the moment.

Heartman, What do you do to comfort them when your s/o is down?

Well hello! Nice to see you in our inbox for another year yet again. It's always a pleasure to see familiar faces.

There are a plethora of things that I do to help comfort Tether when they aren't feeling like themselves.

1. I will sometimes pull out one of their favorite record and slow dance with them until they come back down to Earth.

2. Wrap them up in blankets after giving them some tea, and lay in bed with them for a while.

3. cuddling up on the couch and putting on one of their favorite films.

4. Trying to make them laugh with the corniest jokes I can muster. It usually works if it's a downright horrid one.

& 5. Just letting them vent or talk out what they're going through. Letting them know that I am there for them. Sometimes that's all they need.

How Tether's eyes light up and their excitement when an experiment goes the way they want it to.

The little snores coming from them that I hear when I wake up first.

The sound of their laugh when playing in the snow with Sam and the little one.

The snorts that follow when the laugh gets out of control.

How at peace they seem to be when visiting my lab.

I could go on and on about the things I adore about them, but I'll leave you all with those for now.

Crêpe : Do you have a sweet tooth ? If so, what is your favorite sweet ?

I do have a bit of a sweet tooth, but not too much. I prefer things such as taffy or pastries. I adore the mint brownies Tether makes when we can get our hands on the ingredients.

This is a follow-up fic to the Valentine’s Day letter I had received from Heartman. You’re probably gonna see a ton of mistakes because I suck at writing but whatever.  Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! ♥

Fragile and Tether landed a bit roughly at Heartman’s lab delivery room. It was Valentine’s Day and Tether couldn’t say no to the invitation for a nice date prepared by their partner. They both stabilized themselves, chuckling softly, as Sam stepped out from the lab itself heading down the hallway to the two.

“Tether, Fragile. Good to see you two.”

Both of them turned towards their friend, seeing a slight smile on his face. 

“Good to see you too Sam.” “Likewise Sammy, Heartman just got back I assume?”

The porter nodded, “Just got back actually. He wanted some help moving some stuff around and I was in the area for a delivery so I figured I would help. You’re going to like what he’s done, Tether.” The comment made the BT scientist’s heart flutter. He really did take the time to make this special didn’t he? Tether looked up at the deliverers, smiling. “You both better head out before everyone gets worried about their packages.” They turn to Tether, pulling a medium sized wrapped box out of their backpack. “This is for you and Phos, and Malingen and Sulfur. They’re spa kits based on the info you all gave me about your partners. Hope you all enjoy it” Fragile nodded in thanks before saying her goodbyes and heading back to HQ. Sam was on his way out before Tether called out to him. He stopped, hoping to get out of the gift giving situation but turned to their friend, scratching the back of his neck nervously. 

“Don’t you think you’re gonna get out of getting a gift too, Sam Porter!” They pull out a small dream catcher, very similar to his, out and hand it to him. “It’s for Lou. I know she’s too little to be handling something like this but it’s for when she’s older. So you both will be watched after and match.” 

Sam smiled, impressed at the handiwork. “Thank you Tether. I’ll keep it safe. Now go have dinner with Heartman before he gets impatient.” 

Tether nodded, waving goodbye as they walked down the hallway into the lab. As they walked into the main room, they noticed how everything was rearranged. The BT statues were moved to be out of the way, the lights were a more pinkish hue than the combo of blue and pink Heartman always had on; and right in front of the window looking out at the heart-shaped lake was a nice dinner set up with candles and what seemed to be blue and red carnations. They walked down the small stairs to where Heartman was waking up what they assumed to be the second time, sitting down next to his chair; flipping the hourglass back.

“Good Morning sleeping beauty. Welcome back to the world of the living.” 

Heartman smiled hearing their voice and turned to look at them, “Glad you made it Tether, hope the trip wasn’t too jarring.” He swung his legs off the padded chair to stand and stretch out a bit. Tether followed suit, immediately walking into Heartman’s arms to hug the scientist. “Wasn’t too bad, landed a bit off though. Probably since your lab is so far from Lake Knot City.” 

Heartman hummed in agreement before kissing their forehead, stepping out of their grasp. He looked at the little dinner get up he did for the two of them, “I hope you enjoy the set up I prepared. I wanted it to be as comfortable as possible. Even moved all the BT statues thanks to Sam. I know they can be a bit uncomfortable to look at, even for me. Do.. you like it?” 

Tether rolled her eyes at the man, a smile on their face regardless, “Of course I love it Heartman. You went through all the trouble of doing this for me, for us even on such a cheesy holiday. I appreciate everything you do for me, love, and I do mean everything.” They leaned up and kissed his cheek to emphasize their every word for Heartman just to smile brighter. “Now let’s eat before dinner gets too cold, my dear.” They both sat down at the table and began eating dinner. Discussing everything and nothing all the same. Just for once not worrying about any responsibilities, focusing on one another’s company since they rarely get to do so after the so dubbed “Amelie incident.” The sound of the scientist’s AED broke them both out of their conversation, Heartman muting the damn thing before trying to continue before the interruption. Tether shook their head in disapproval, “You need to lay down Heartman. I’m not having you die at the table. The wooden table where you could hurt yourself.” They stood up from their seat, going over to him to usher him out of his seat and to the couch with little complaint from her partner. They sat down first, leaning back as Heartman laid down perpendicular to them; his head resting in Tether’s lap as they have done many times in the past. Their fingers absentmindedly running through his short brown hair, humming a small tune before kissing his forehead. “When you wake up, we’ll exchange gifts and talk more about the projects alright?” Heartman smiled as his protection protocols started up, “You have a deal there Miss Tether. See you in three minutes.” 

Once he was “gone”, Tether continued to play with his hair, and scrolled through their messages they had received during dinner as they waited. They smiled at the excited little drawing that little Lou had sent them through Sam, thanking them for the dream catcher. The next was from Phos and Sul (and their respective partners) entailing that they owed them something special for both Tether and Heartman, but their partner already had that covered. They tilted their head confused by that statement but shrugged it off as being they sent their presents to him already and that’s what the surprise was. They spent the last minute or so mindlessly scrolling when the AED administered the shock and Heartman shot up from their lap. “Sorry about that, where were we?”

“Valentine’s Day, dear.”

“Yes, right.” Heartman cleared his throat, before sitting correctly on his couch. “Should I go first? You go first?” “I think I should since yours is this grandiose surprise according to the Jackal twins from HQ and Sam too.” They got up from their seat to grab a medium sized box from their bag before sitting back down, handing it to him excitedly. They had Sam, Malingen, and Deadman all help to try to find this specific item way before Christmas. Heartman took the box, peeling off the wrapping to reveal the Dalmore whiskey box. He looked up at them in shock, “How on earth did you find this Tether? This is one of the most expensive and rare liquors in the world!” 

They brightly smiled, pleased with his reaction, and shrugged, “I had some help from a few friends of ours to track it down. Didn’t cost too much. Just a few pieces of my tech sufficed.” Heartman gently set the box down next to him and peppered kisses over their face before fully kissing them. “Thank you Tether. I absolutely love it. Now, for your present, I have to go retrieve it since I can be forgetful and thought I had it on person. Close your eyes, and don’t open them until I say so.” Tether nodded and obeyed the orders given as Heartman went to go retrieve said gift. After a minute or two or rummaging, they were going to call out to him before they heard a soft ‘there you are you little bugger.’ and foot steps back in their direction. They heard a bit more movement in front of them, then Heartman speaking in a shaky voice, “Alright now, you can open them.” As they did, Tether saw the beach scientist on one knee, looking severely nervous then before he left. They tilted their head, a bit confused. “Now I know what you’re thinking: ‘What on earth is this crazy man up to?’ Well… It’s been a while since we made our relationship official, after my decision to stop looking and… I’m happy that you have been with me through this entire journey Tether. I thought I could never love someone else ever again in my life and yet here you are. Right in front of me, so what I’m really trying to say before I get too off topic here, is…” Heartman pulls a small blue suede box seemingly out of nowhere, opening it up to reveal a beautiful dark metal blue ring with a strip of what seems to be gold chiral crystals in the center; an opal as the centerpiece carved out in the shape of a small heart, “Tether, Sam, will you do me the honors, will you marry me?” 

Tether sat there in shock for a brief moment, staring at the beautifully crafted ring in front of them before looking up at Heartman, “You silly man, yes! A thousand times yes!” 

Almost immediately as the ring was placed shakily on their finger, they lunged at the man, kissing him fiercely. “Of course I’ll marry you Heartman, you’re the only one who has brought me happiness since my parents left.” 

He smiles holding them close, “Good. I can officially say now, you have mended my silly heart-shaped heart. I love you Sam.” “I love you too.”

Dragonfly Wings: Is there a certain item that symbolizes your relationship?

HOO BOY HAVEN’T THOUGHT ABOUT THIS BIRD BOY IN A HOT ASS MINUTE! Korryn and Pingua’s relationship is a bit strange but if I had to pick a symbol between this ocelot and albatross, I would probably go with Pingua’s white scarf. I can see Pingua (when he’s visiting of course) just visiting Korryn at their place of work or hanging out with Michiru and just wrapping the fabric around his partner. Probably let’s Korryn keep it until he returns if they’re missing him too much. now I wanna draw that FUCK

Piano Roll: How does your f/o act differently around you compared to around others? 

Heartman is a very knowledgeable, formal speaking individual albeit a bit oblivious to people’s reactions around him when he speaks. That’s when he’s around others. Very quiet unless needed for more information or to further instructions given. However, around Tether, he’s a complete nerd who will just go on and on about various things (mainly fossils and the Beaches and various alcohols he loves to splurge on). Also is more relaxed and tries not to ramble on too much about topics; but really Tether doesn’t mind and enjoys seeing the more carefree Heartman when no one else is around. Makes them smile. 

Rockfort: What is the greatest adventure you and your f/o have been on? 

I guess I would have to say the greatest adventure that Wren and Tifa have ever been on is gonna have to be destroying the Mako reactors with Avalanche and obviously Cloud when he comes into the picture. Not to be gay or anything but according to Wren, just experiencing life with Tifa is the greatest adventure to them.

rose - how many brain cells would you estimate there are between you and your f/o?

Between Tether and Heartman, they have a ton of brain cells but when relaxing at home, they have like 2. 

Laurence and Alexandra have 15 lol

There are no brain cells between Benny and Rocket. None. Zip. 

I would say between the two Yoruichi has like a ton and Hiroji has 0 when around their hot cat wife.

I could go on and on about Heartman and his character development throughout DS; how dedicated he is to his work and how knowledgeable he is about Beaches and fucking EVERYTHING. God, I could listen to him talk about anything and everything for hours. Just sitting there, conversing over a cup of tea that was delivered by Sam; staring as Heartman excitedly talks about the fossils and the Death Strandings from times long gone. To help him fall in love again after letting go. To show him not to stay in isolation anymore and to find his footing after everything. I just really love Heartman, he deserves the world and I want to be the one to give that to him.

NOW TO ANOTHER BOY SINCE YOU GAVE ME TWO:

THIS STINKY FORMER CAPTAIN JUST- AGDJFKBDNSKAIFBEK!! Kisuke is such a little shit head and such a softie at the same time; it makes my heart swell at his form of chaos. I absolutely love his training methods and how fucking SERIOUS he gets when training Ichigo for the Soul Society Arc GOD ITS SO GOOD. Also his fighting style with Benihime (also complete side tangent I'm a huge fucking sucker for hidden swords especially cane swords and Jesus Christ Benihime's reveal did some shit to me) and how he handles his zanpakutō with such elegance and how connected he is to his zanpakutō AAAAHH it's so good!!!!

I love Kisuke Urahara so fucking much dude. I don't get to talk about him a lot but fuck I love him and Yoruichi so much!!!!!

“Good Evening Fragile, hope the company is doing well with all the deliveries you have to do and all that.

Regardless, to your question-  I don’t really spoil Tether that much actually but I enjoy it when I do. I usually spoil them with knowledge with the B.D.S. (Before Death Stranding), since they do get curious and I do spoil them by getting more records delivered. Tether does rather enjoy music more so than I. I also love trying different types of wine with them as well although they do have stop me from indulging too much due to the whole dying every twenty-one minutes thing. 

Tether usually makes the two of us breakfast and is a fantastic cook might I add; I could go on and on how they can cook a traditional english breakfast from scratch (when we both have the ingredients of course). They remind me about the increments of time now since we’ve been living together after Sam’s interaction with Amelie... Bridget? The chiral hourglass is still useful when I’m here by myself but it is nice when Tether reminds me by leading me to the couch and putting my head on their lap, stroking my hair all the while it happens. While they do this for me, I am the one who constantly reminds them to both eat, keep themselves hydrated, and sleep. Thank to whatever deity is out there we are finally starting to break out of this habit but I am pretty certain Sam has already told you since he keeps up to date with all of us as well. We both tend to keep one another grounded which is a nice change after... well.. you know.. 

I actually need your help with something special when the time comes Fragile if you don’t mind. I hope to catch up in person with you soon.”

Who sleeps on which side of the bed?

♥ : The bed that Tether and Heartman share is pushed up against the wall (left side - wall; right - open) so Heartman doesn’t fall off the bed during one of his trips to the Beach he sleeps next to the wall. ★ : Hux sleeps on the right, Onofre left since its closer to the door.

What are some of your sleeping habits that your F/O finds endearing?

♥ : thinks its cute that Tether gathers all the pillows in their shared space to make a small nest before flopping on them to go sleep.  ★ : Besides Onofre making some tea for the both of them before bed, there’s really nothing Hux finds endearing.

What position do you and your F/O usually go to sleep in? How about your positions you usually wake up in?

♥ : Definitely they cuddle when they go to sleep but sometime during the night, Heartman will try to stay asleep while on his back while Tether is curled up around their pillow. 

★ : Both Armitage and Onofre will sleep as far away from one another but Armitage will wake in Onofre’s arms every. single. time. Do you or your F/O sleep with a stuffed toy? If yes, what is it? Does it have a name?

♥ &★ : Nope

What’s you and your F/O’s nighttime ritual?

♥ : Both will start their nighttime ritual by having a small cup of sleepytime tea, brushing their teeth and then getting changed into comfortable clothes before getting in bed for some small talk and cuddles.  ★: Hux will usually have a cup of tea before getting ready for bed (folding all of his clothes, putting them in their rightful place before sitting in bed, reading over reports much to the dismay of Onofre). Onofre will just brush his teeth after having a hot quick shower before plopping down on their huge bed and taking Hux’s data pad away so he can actually get some sleep

How many pillows do you and your F/O sleep with?

♥ : So many fucking pillows. Like the rooms already padded but its essentially a nest of soft squishy rectangles. 

★ : Hux sleeps with 2, Onofre sleeps with one that for some reason gets thrown off the bed at some point during the night. 

Do you and/ your F/O sleep with some kind of background noise (ex. music, white noise…) or do you/ they prefer silence?

♥ : Both like listening to a more softer record from Heartman’s personal collection to sleep to; sometimes Tether will suggest soft rain sounds to help them sleep despite having a slight fear of the Timefall. 

★ : Hux is used to sleeping in silence but doesn’t complain when Onofre puts on some sleep ambiance sounds to help him sleep.

When/ How did you end up sharing a bed with your F/O for the first time? What was it like?

♥ :  It just sort of happened?? Neither of them complained about it since they were both pining after one another for a while and it was nice for the both of them to have physical contact and a decent night of sleep. 

★ : Onofre was a bit drunk due to his escapades with Phasma on leave, Hux found him and invited him back to his quarters where some.. things happened. Bit embarrassing come morning but it just stuck. 

Do you or your F/O sleeptalk? If yes, what are some memorable things that were said? What about snoring or drooling?

♥ : Heartman neither talks, snores, or drools. Tether however drools a bit when they sleep. They a heavy sleeper. 

★ : Onofre sleep talks if he’s slightly tipsy, but he snores softly. Hux is fucking quiet in his sleep. 

Who’s usually the first to fall asleep: you or your F/O?

♥ : Tether tries their hardest to fall asleep after their partner. It doesn’t work. 

★ : Hux is first one most of the times because Onofre refuses to fall asleep first since he is the General’s guard. Gotta keep on his oath. 

How early/ late do you and your F/O wake up? Who’s usually the first to wake up?

♥ : The try to go to bed fairly early but it never ends up happening. Heartman wakes up first due to his travels to the Beaches. 

★: Due to stubbornness and insomnia, late late late nights; Hux is always the first up due to his duty as General. 

How does/ would your F/O wake you up? How would you wake up your F/O? Is it easy for them or you to wake up?

♥ : Heartman will get up, make a small breakfast with Tether’s favourite brand of coffee and wake them up with several kisses to the temple and face. Tether would do the same but will set the tray down on the side table and cuddle Heartman, kissing every part of his face until he stirs awake. It’s easy to wake them up unless they didn’t sleep well then good fucking luck. 

★ : Hux wakes Onofre up by shaking him awake after a shower before getting ready to leave for the bridge. Onofre, on the other hand, would take his time stirring his precious General awake by other handsy means not caring if they have duties to attend to; the General is his to take and he’s going to revel in it. Onofre wakes very easily due to his formal training.
