Best News of the Week!!!!! 📸 @joewesley I been pretty open with my “healing” journey & now I’be been tasked with being a Healer 🙏🏾 I been asking the Universe to lead me in my divine purpose to give back 🫶🏽 I’m so excited to partner with the @healingandjusticecenter >> a project of @thedreamdefenders @miami_dreamdefenders ✨ After I big chopped in 2010, my self-perception was a rollercoaster until I got a grip & rebuilt my confidence. It wasn’t easy back then rocking a 3in fro - the societal “stares” + “snarls” made me feel so little and undervalued. People thought I was having a mental breakdown (Britney Spears moment) b/c I had chopped off my dead permed hair & opted for my kinks. “Your perception of me, is not my reality” At that moment (2014), I realized our black & brown youth were going to experience the same trauma esp our girls. So I started speaking at middle & high schools. I wanted to leave little nuggets to enrich & empower…. We are MORE than our kinky coils & melanin ✊🏾✊🏿✊🏽✊🏻✊🏼 ���I start during the summer.
