Takers- 707 Fic Chapter 1
Holaaaaaa babes~ DID YOU GUYS MISS ME LIKE I MISSED YOU. Seriously, though, I missed you guys so much. You guys are so incredibly sweet and supportive. I am so sorry I haven’t been active like at all, as you all know I was super sick. BUT GUESS WHO’S BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER :D NOT ME :( Well, I’m back, but my writing skills are super rusty which is why I am super hesitant to release this fic. Just like the JuminxMC fic, this one will be for 707xMC. Unfortunately, MC has not been introduced yet so I guess this will be a prequel IDK?
Honestly, IDK yet. I have two chapters of this fic finished. However, I am not confident of it AT ALL. Like the entire time I was writing it, I was like WTF THIS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS. So depending on how this does well I post it, I will decide if I want to continue this series. PLEASE GIVE ME FEEDBACK GUYS, OR I WON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THIS. Anyways, thanks so much for being amazing. I also have a Jumin Fic update coming out this week and the long-awaited Unknown Child will have the sequel released a week from now (so next Sunday).
Seriously you guys are the fricking greatest and don’t forget to show ya girl some lurveeeeee FOLLOW/LIKE/REBLOG THANKS, KIDDIES I LOVE YOU GUYS SO SO SOOO MUCHO<3
Need a master list? I gotchu
Beads of sweat were profusely running down his face, down his neck into his shirt; the wind from the harsh winter making him shiver thanks to his cold sweat. It had been a while since he had received an active mission that required him to leave his humble tech abode.
Seven had already hacked into the mainframe and had disabled the security for approximately 47 minutes and 17 seconds and counting. And here he was, fumbling with picking the locks to get into the museum. He didn’t understand the mission completely, but from what Vanderwood had instructed, it seemed that there was some rare Jewel in this museum, worth millions and he had to steal it before anyone else could.
Being a hacker, it didn’t faze him, carrying out illegal activity. He simply did what he needed to so survive, so that his needs and his boss’ needs were met. He couldn’t risk making them unhappy, not when they had taken the most valuable thing he had as collateral.
He gritted his teeth, cursing himself because he was running out of time. If he didn’t get the Jewel this time… then… No, he couldn’t even think of what they would do.
His ears perked up as he heard the lock click. He needed to hurry, word on the street was that the most notorious thief also had his eyes on the Jewel. They called themselves “Ace” and they left their trademark ace of spades card whenever they had successfully accomplished their task.
Unfortunately for Ace, there would be no accomplishment for them today. They might be good, but Seven was better. He had to be better. He couldn’t risk being the opposite. He was a shadow, always there but never noticed, until it was too late and he was gone.
He rushed into the museum stealthily, silently trying to recall the blueprints that he had memorized last night to memory. He made his way down the hall, completely concentrated. “This is going to be a walk in the park,” he thought to himself smugly as he finally had the Jewel in his line of sight.
All he had to do was make his way over quickly, grab the Jewel and run before the cops could come running. If his calculations were correct, then it would give him approximately 120 seconds to escape once the alarm was set off and all hell would break loose.
His mind was running all possible escape routes in his head, as he made his way into the hall. “Tsk tsk tsk, and here I thought you would be smarter, I wouldn’t move a muscle if I were you, darling.”
Seven was frozen in place, he heard a clearly altered voice and committed it to memory. It was high pitched so the perpetrator must be a guy, he doesn’t seem to have a large build but must have a deep voice. As he kept analyzing the disfigured voice, his blood ran cold, there was no way he could have made it in before Seven, not when it had taken him so long to get in himself.
He turned to see a lean, masked figure, leaning against the wall of the museum, casually eating a snack. Completely relaxed, as if they were in some public place and not robbing one of the most precious and prized artifacts known to man.
“At least I know you’re good at following directions,” the masked party said cheerfully, pleased to see Seven following his orders. It only pissed him off more. He went to take a few more steps, deciding that it would be best to simply grab the Jewel and run when the masked man pulled out a powdered substance and threw it at Seven.
He was flustered, not knowing what he was just assaulted with when he finally saw them, hundreds of intersecting infrared lines just blocking his path to the jewel. Had he taken just a few more steps he would have triggered the alarm system completely.
He silently cursed himself for not thoroughly disabling the security system. Of course, they would have extra precautionary measures for a Jewel worth 24.3 million dollars. He was mentally kicking himself for being so stupid.
The notorious delinquent let out another laugh, “The look on your face is priceless. You looked so confused. You must be asking why? Why did I help you? Why didn’t I take the Jewel when I was here about an hour before you? Why, why, why, why, why? Right?”
Seven gritted his teeth as he heard the smile in their disfigured voice. He hated being the butt of anyone’s joke and he was a trained special agent. Taking a deep breath he carefully and swiftly maneuvered himself through the laser sensors. He concentrated, knowing that everything was riding on this ticket and that he could not blow it, he had reached the pedestal the Jewel was a top when he felt a presence behind him.
The masked offender quickly brushed off his hands, “Wow now that was some stretch huh? Why work out when you can just steal for a living am I right?”
Seven gave them a hard look and went back to deciding what to do with the Jewel and the rather burdensome situation he now had to deal with.
“Jeez tough crowd huh,” the masked creature said whistling.
Seven didn’t know how on earth they could be so calm. He had had enough finally snapped, “Why the fuck are you joking around? What do you want? The jewel? Because I hate to break it to you I’m taking it.”
The masked person turned and simply shrugged, “Because it’s fun and you’re funny. That’s why I haven’t taken the Jewel and took off. It was fun watching you struggle at the door for 23 minutes when you could have simply used an infrared laser to cut a hole into the glass ceiling and lowered yourself down. It was fun watching you, with that goofy smile on your face as you waltzed into the room where the most valuable Jewel in the world was, thinking you could just pick it and walk off, that there would be no way they wouldn’t have anything that the untrained eye couldn’t see that wouldn’t alert the security team. That you have about 2 minutes and 3 seconds and counting until that security system that you oh-so-cleverly disabled kicks back on and you are caught red-handed for stealing the jewel yet you’re wasting that precious time yelling at me.”
He gritted his teeth, as he was clearly made a fool of. He went on a limb and decided that there was only one option. He wanted to laugh, sure he had been outsmarted up until now however he prepared himself, in case any opposers had decided to come and ruin his mission. He let out a forced laugh ad glared at the masked jester, “You think you’re so smart right? Well, have fun with the police.”
Without a moment of hesitation, he grabbed the Jewel and the sound of a loud blaring alarm filled the room. He quickly hit a button on the side of his belt and a rope shot up towards the ceiling quickly. He quickly threw the last piece in his ingenious plot to escape, a card; more specifically the ace of spades.
He had finally made it up to the drop ceiling where he pushed a tile to the side as he began to make his escape. He felt the adrenaline rush through his veins as he glibly called down, “It was great meeting you, but let’s not do this again, “ With that he was gone, on the run but he had successfully completed his mission. He was placing the tile back when he heard over the blaring alarms, the disfigured voice slowly getting louder, “Oh sweetheart, that, now that, you shouldn’t have done. “
He began to run, with everything he had. He somehow had to make his way back down to his car so he could make his getaway successful. He heard sirens and hundreds of police cars filled the streets. He heard a chopper in the distance and realized that he was quickly running out of options, time was quickly ticking away. He had to act fast.
He turned to run, but it was too late. He quickly pulled the hood of his hoodie over his eyes. The doors to the roof burst open behind him, police officers rushed in, demanding him to surrender because there was no mistake. How you he have messed up? He had to accomplish the mission, there was no surrender, not for him. He racked his mind, for possibilities but he was up against a wall. He slowly took a few steps back, “Don’t come near me, I’ll jump off this ledge, I swear and god only knows where I’ll throw the jewel” he threatened.
“Son, don’t make another move, We will shoot you” the police officer yelled. Seven gritted his teeth. He despised himself. He knew what would happen. He would be taken into custody, the jewel would be back in its place, and that cocky bastard would come back and steal it. Not on his watch, not if he could help it. Left with no other options, he turned, ready to jump from the top of the building, accepting that this was the end of the line for him.
He had heard the shot before he actually felt it. But when he did, boy did he feel it. It was like the heat has just consumed his body and all the air had been knocked out of him. He clutched his stomach in pain, as he felt himself fall over the edge. He closed his eyes, not able to gain the strength to reach into his pocket to throw the cursed jewel. When he felt a pair of hands grab him.
His body snapped as he felt himself hang from the side of the building. He slowly opened his eyes to see the masked man, holding onto him, clinging to the side of the building. He heard the chopper coming closer and groaned, “Just let me go, they have aerial support, just let me die and save yourself you cocky bastard.”
“Aerial support? Oh, hun, that’s not aerial support, that’s our ticket out of here.” The masked wonder said every word emphasized with a cocky smile that Seven could only imagine was on his face.
He couldn’t think or even react. He felt his consciousness slipping from him. He had so many questions he wanted to ask, but he had no time. He couldn’t muster the strength to utter any words. That was the last thing he felt before succumbing to the exhaustion and darkness.
So who’s awesome for reading this long ass fic that most likely sucked? UH YEAH YOU GURL. Yeah so, as I said my writing skills are a tad rusty... OK REALLY RUSTY. I am not confident with this one but idk. Lemme know what you guys think :D Thanks so much for being the amazing person you are and reading my thingies. You are the greatest :D MUAH XOXO

Week of Rimini Protokoll
This week I hand the extraordinary chance to visit three performances by my favorite theater group Rimini Protokoll. Getting so much input was like yoga for the brain - you feel stretched, enriched and full of energy.
Tuesday: Uncanny Valley at Kammerspiele, Kammer 3.
The uncanny valley is a theory from robotics science and describes how the feeling of unease or fear takes a sudden peak when something becomes close to a human shape, but then declines again when the shape is very human-like. Rimini Protokoll consequently played on this relation and the only performer on stage was a robot with a video screen. It could move almost naturally, you coudl hear the servo-motors of his arms, it is able to do gestures and mimics. It could walk or get up though. Its head was open in the back and you could see the wiring. The robot started the narration and explained bit by bit how it was created to help the writer of the play Thomas Melle, Melle has a bipolar disorder and being able to send a robot to do the repetitive work of lectures and book reading is adding to his personal comfort. On screen the creation of the robot was shown bit by bit. Also the biography of Alan Turing who was named ‘the first robot’ for his discrete way of thinking. Turing had developed the Turing test to define who is human and who is machine. Quoting this famous example of computer science, by a robot, is a good example of Rimini Protokoll used the technique of shifting the meaning. What was said is simple and one focused example, but the setting on the stage is giving it a broader frame of reference. This continued: the robot explained how theater is a machine, fist by showing an actual ‘theater machine’, a light machine, but obviously that triggered the thought of how the arrangement of actors on stage following a program, no feedback possible by the audience etc. is very much machine-like. The robot also presented how his function is to take over a machine-like flow from Thomas Melle. “The questions and answers on book readings are always the same. Often your answers are no longer true and you understand the difference between the condified self and the individual.” Important notes in the play were projected discussion with Enno Park, who wears a cochlea implant, per say already is a cyborg and loves technology as it opened new possibilities - but the most favorite function for him was to unplug the connector and be completely deaf for the purpose of calm or concentration. The other important notion was the tale of how Alan Turing, after being force-treated with hormones and suffering a body transformation, starts writing a scientific essay on the subject of biology where he outlines how coincidence is responsible for most of the structures in nature. Those two for me were hinting at the counterweight of all the technogical prowress: while it might be easy to start a evolution of prosthesis and defer more and more problems to the machine, and even answer the problems created through mechanical situations (e.g. repetitive situations for authors on stage) through new machines (e.g. sending a robot), to refocus attention to the human element, feelings, conditions and needs (e.g. the bipolar disorder) and face them with consequence. In the discussion with a friend after the performance we felt that the best example for this development is the human space program - we try to reach ever further, dream from other planets etc. but only to evade the reality that we have only one planet and run out of resources.
Friday: Society under construction, Kammerspiele, Kammer 2.
This performance was part 2 of the tetralogy ‘The state‘ where Rimini Protokoll looks at four stages of post-democratic society. In this case it is the frequently discussed hyper-constructions in the public sector, e.g. the Berlin Airport, the Elb-Philhamonie. The audience was divided in 8 groups with around 20 participants to start at 8 different starting points in the parcours. At each station there was a topic narrated by a real expert from this field, who provided insights but also used the bustle at the construction site as props. This way the presentations nicely fit together and always provided a reinterpretation of the activity of the other groups. Those were the stations:
Transparency international - here we learned from a lawyer in the field that almost every construction project has big time corruption activities - from hiding dangerous garbage, to speculating with the construction land or signing the reception of material that was not delivered. All at the cost of the public.
Urban development - a professor of urbanistics put us in the role of a political delegation from a developing country who want to learn about how to face the problem of growing cities. He explains the example of Singapur, a city who has reached enourmous wealth and high quality of life, but on the other side is a model that reproduces their own problems - gaining land from the sea requires a tremendous amount of resources that drive sand prices high, the use of air conditioning systems increases the average temperature by around 7 degrees which encourages more people to buy AC’s. So the export recommended instead of looking up to western cities that constructed using fossile resources to look into close by resources, modular way of building and the use of sustainable materials.
Building technology - this was probably the most explosive expert as he was the guy made responsible for the delay of the completion of the Berlin AIrport. He explained to us how the desmoking facility he had constructed and blamed for was never tested and he was mainly small sacrifice in a bigger game of contracts and money.
Legal - using and demonstrating the metaphor of martial arts, a lawyer explained how the different parties on the construction site all blame each other, use blocks and counterattacks when something is delayed. The bad thing is a cascading delay through all tracks at the cost of the public hand.
Illegal employment - a romanian brick layer told his tale of dependency and exploitation in illegal employments in construction sites, while we were building a small tower using wooden bars.
Pest control - the owner of a pest control company invited us to a philosophical excourse into the construction philosophy of ants - starting small, growing as needed, using materials at hand, working stream-lined and well-informed and constrasted it with the irritations and confusions at a human construction site.
Nomadic workers - a chinese dancer told us about the origin of the nomadic workers on construction sites, with little rights 12 hour days, no insurance, being instructed by computers. While she explained she compared the activity ot dancing and instructured the crowd to get moving.
Investment - a real estate specialist explained how the zero interest policy of the central banks compared with inflation is putting a lot of pressure on instituational and private investors. Real estate projects in this context are offered as ‘concrete gold’ and promise gains up to 10 %. It became evident how this situation of risk, urgency and uncertain future is a game where you can only lose.
In the end everyone came together and the experts put out a few assumptions - e.g. “let’s assume real estate projects would be as per need, and not as per gain” or “let’s assume politicians would be held accountable past their time of duty”. Then the chinese dance invited everyone to dance together and there was free beer.
I left this performance with less of a feeling of emotional strike but more with intellectual perfection. The presentation was very deep, the orchestration of all the groups fit perfect together. At the least the society that came together in the theater was not lost in chaos.
Saturday: Dreaming collectives, Tapping Sheep at Marstall
This was part 3 of ‘The State’ and this time dealt with the digitisation of government and democracy. Every participant started sitting on a cube in front of a smart phone. Two facilitators of Greek origin guided us through. The setting was that everyone was part of a time leap experiment into a future where humanity has handed over control to an artificial intelligence called IRIS (nice pun on Siri), which drives developments based on digital traces, profiles and preferences. Throughout the evening we were asked to give our vote through the smart phone screen on certain issues. The facilitators would then comment and sometimes fill in a anekdote or little excoursion. The experiment put up the question of how much influence we actually have in our society and if voting is really the means to change something in our lifes for the better. The facilitators exemplified how votes were completely ignored in the case of the Greek debt crisis. The conscious challenge to provide constant flow of votes was interesting though, like a mental work-out. It was also discussed whether votes should be secret or not. We had to switch places with the person in front of us and answer a few question in their stead. The game of tapping herds was addressed with a game of who voted always with the majority, thus became the top sheep. Data matching and analytics was a topic too, as we were asked to first find the person in the room who we think has answered mostly the opposite and then were directed to the person who has answered mostly the same. Those were surprising encounters as you do not often start a discussion with someone who has opposing views - and more then you start liking the open and constructive exchange. My machine-calculated match then proved to be less like-minded to me - at least I developed a feeling of doubt and discomfort in the conversation. In the end IRIS had calculated and divided us into clusters who needed to take a decision together. The smart phones were always our companies and blinked in the color of the answer we had chosen and also made a beeping sound which all together created a sinphony of sound and lighting.
This performance left more question open then it answered. The technological opportunity of AI, of the data masses available and the growing request for more direct democracy made this a valid experiment - yet it become very obvious that the crowd (and society) first need to discuss the conditions and realms of technological influence. Also the question was there who is actually the sheep and who is the shepherd.

We live in a world where crimes are committed on a daily basis. Crimes of all shapes and sizes are always taking place, each with their own backstories and motivations. Some crimes are just for financial gain, while others have some emotions attached to them. Especially in urban environments, crime is just a part of the people’s daily life. It’s unfortunate. But, as long as there are laws, there will be people breaking them. Especially for those who have paid attention to the recent leaks that have come out, the government seems to always want to be spying on us. There are fair reasons for this, such as the crime and terrorism stated above. But, most of the people in this country are simple law-abiding citizens. Massive surveillance projects seem like an endeavor of the future, but there are multiple ways in which we’re being spied on every day. Google Earth may not be the same as rigging a Samsung smart TV to appear as though it’s off and record your conversations, but it can certainly be deemed as an invasion of privacy. These 15 crimes happened to be caught on Google Earth, which is no small feat. Despite the “keeping tabs on us” mentality, Google only updates its services a few times a year. Unfortunately for these people, they were caught doing some unsavory activities when the Google van passed by. Some even had to pay the legal price for their crimes.
#1 Bike Thieves Having your bike, phone, and wallet stolen from you as you’re just trying to get home is one of those inconveniences that will ruin your entire week. You’ve lost most of your important items, and crimes like these are usually ones that go unsolved. Six months after a 14-year-old from the Netherlands experienced this theft, he believed he would never see his bike again. That was until he took a look at the Google Earth image of the street where he was robbed. The image the victim saw was of himself riding his bike, flanked by the twin brothers who stole it from him. Police were able to catch up with the thieves–who were already well-known to authorities–and get the young man his bike.
#2 Jewel Heist Google Earth has been able to catch some excitement while canvasing the streets of the world. Added to its portfolio is this shot-by-shot police chase in Serbia. Two men were about to rob a jewelry store as police arrived. They booked it when they saw the flashing lights, and police had to chase them down. The chase was caught by the Google Earth cameras and enshrined in the internet forever. These pictures aren’t as exciting as a live-action police chase, but the fact that Google was lucky enough to capture the drama is impressive. Pedestrians can be seen marveling at the scene as they go about their daily activities. The chase ended favorably for the police, as they were able to catch the would-be robbers before they could get away.
#3 Drug Deal In Action When Reddit user wowurdumb, a recovering heroin addict, took a trip down memory lane by searching his former favorite dope spot in Camden, New Jersey, he got a peek at what he might have looked like from the outside. The user posted a picture of what he saw, saying that he was neither surprised nor disappointed. The Google Earth picture showed a drug deal taking place at the exact spot where he used to buy all of his drugs. The user says that he’s clean now and that he’s turned his life around since his days of buying heroine through a fence. Nostalgia never hurt anyone, though, and the user found some comfort in the fact that he is not alone in his struggles.
#4 Shooter The reason this one didn’t make it to the top of the list is because there’s some dispute about its legitimacy. This appears to be a picture of a young man pointing a gun at a passing boy. Some have claimed that this picture was taken moments before a shooting, but there doesn’t appear to be any correlation with this picture and any adolescent shooting in the area. If this is a real photo, it doesn’t mean that the older boy shot the younger boy. He could have been pointing a gun until the younger boy ran away. Some people seem to think that the gun is fake, but it wouldn’t be the first time a teenager got his hands on an illegal firearm. Looking at the younger boy’s motion, he appears to be terrified either way. Regardless of whether or not this picture resulted in a serious–even fatal–crime, it was still a shocking snapshot taken by Google Earth.
#5 TP Nothing like a good old-fashioned toilet paper attack to get your day started. Many of us have gone through the ding-dong-ditch/TP phase of our lives. It’s the phase where we just do mischievous things just to do mischievous things. This was probably the first time we truly realized that getting in trouble wasn’t all that big of a deal. TPing someone’s house isn’t a master criminal move, though. In fact, it has to be one of the lowest crimes imaginable. But, it’s still against the law. Almost all of these malicious attacks are done by someone under the age of 14 and likely for no other reason than those trees looking like they could use some decoration. Thankfully, Google Earth was there to take a picture and enshrine this work of art for years to come.
#6 Quick HJ This is what we in the biz call “a crime of passion.” Get it? Well, these two may not be participating in a malicious crime, but there are at least a few laws being broken in this picture. For one, I can’t imagine it being legal to whip out your junk for a quick stroke on the side of the road. This was taken in England, and I’m not well-versed in English law (more of a bird law specialist), but there has to be a law against things like this. It’s not necessarily the case–these two individuals could be in the midst of a loving, passionate, long-term relationship–but there are a few indications that this woman may be a prostitute. Her outfit is nothing concrete by itself, but when your wanking (a little local flavor for you) a guy in public, especially one looking the way that he is, I think it’s fair to speculate. Regardless, this was an A+ capture by the team over at Google Earth. And for that, we have to be grateful.
#7 Murder…ish One Google Earth user in Scotland was terrified when she saw what appeared to be a murder taking place in full view of the Google Earth camera. They called police to report what they had seen, and police were dispatched to Thompson Motor Company in Edinburgh to investigate. When police arrived, they found the victim of the “murder,” Dan Thompson, alive and well in his shop. Thompson works as a mechanic at the shop, and he and “perpetrator” Gary Kerr explained to police what had happened. The two of them saw the Google Street View car roaming down the street and decided to make the most of their opportunity. Instead of making a sign or a funny gesture, the two decided to stage a murder scene. They had actually forgotten about their stunt by the time police questioned them about it, as the picture was taken months before it was uploaded. At least they saw the Google Street View car passing by, which is more than can be said for the next group of criminal masterminds.
#8 Grand Theft Auto Google Earth seems to be around at unexpectedly perfect times, and this is one case where it helped police identify the perpetrator of a crime. In 2010, the above car was stolen from the owner’s lot. He had no leads as to who had taken it, but eventually saw his location on Google Earth. As it turns out, the Google Street View car was passing by at the exact moment this man was stealing the victim’s car. The man was in the process of the theft as the car passed and can be seen adjusting his pants. It wasn’t until two years after the crime was committed that these pictures surfaced, so the identity of the man responsible still eluded the police. Fortunately, for everyone involved (except the guy who did it), police were able to arrest the man two years after he stole the car.
#9 Indecent Exposure The Google Street View car is like a little child. It doesn’t know any better, so it’s going to see everything that’s in front of it. Unfortunately, that includes the times you pull over to have a quickie on the hood of your car. While there’s nothing maliciously wrong with this photo, there are rules about banging people in public like this. Not everyone is a fan of these rules, but I can see why they are in place. This happy couple was enjoying a good old-fashioned shag on the side of the road when the Google car drove by with a camera. Instead of attempting to hide their shame, the couple owned it by waving and chugging a beer right in everyone’s face. We can only hope they’re still together, as you don’t see a connection like this every day.
#10 Google The Narc This story should serve as a message to all drug dealers out there—keep your head on a swivel; Google is watching. I know it’s hard to spot the bright-white Google car with a camera mounted on the roof. But if you don’t see it coming, you may wind up like these guys. This and a couple other Google Earth pictures assisted police in identifying the members of a Brooklyn heroin ring, as well as where they operate. This area was known to police as a hotbed of drug activity, and local businesses even shut down at odd times to keep themselves out of the drug world. With the assistance of Google Earth, police were able to identify and apprehend six drug dealers in this area—three of them are pictured above.
#11 2nd Amendment Right This picture taken in a Detroit neighborhood must have given the driver of the Google Street View car quite a scare when he saw it, as a group of teenagers appear to be pointing a gun directly at the vehicle. The Google cars are anything but inconspicuous, and sometimes, people who don’t want to be photographed will take notice. There isn’t anything inherently illegal about this picture. If the person holding the gun is of age and has a license, then he is allowed to protect his property with a weapon. No one could tell the specifics of the photo, so there wasn’t any legal trouble over this photo. The creepy part of this story is that a month after this photo was taken, a 1-year-old girl named Zyia Turner was found dead in the closet. She was reported missing by the family, but police dogs later found her at the bottom of a pile of clothes in the closet.
#12 Prostitution Prostitution has to be the number one illegal activity caught on Google Earth. There are so many pictures of prostitutes doing their business on Google Earth that they could probably make up a list of their own. Just because a scantily-clad woman is pictured on the side of the road, that doesn’t mean she’s a prostitute. That said, it’s not an unfair assumption that they are prostitutes. And, nine times out of ten, you’re going to be correct; especially when they’re caught negotiating with clients or stepping into a large truck in high heels and half of her a*s sticking out of her skirt. She could be a simple hitchhiker, but I think most people feel comfortable assuming that they are the ones getting paid and not the ones paying the truck driver.
#13 Burglary In 2011, an Oklahoma City woman was robbed at gunpoint in her home. The perpetrators held her for hours while they ransacked the place, stealing everything of value that they could find. The woman was obviously petrified by the experience and says that she was convinced that the pair were going to shoot her before they left. They didn’t shoot her, though, and the victim considered herself lucky for that. But, the two robbers got away and weren’t able to be tracked down by police. Three years after the incident, a friend of the victim was searching the victim’s street on Google Earth. She stopped at her friend’s house and saw that there were two men who fit the descriptions of the robbers standing outside the victim’s house. Police were alerted and were able to find the suspects who were inadvertently captured on Google Images.
#14 Illegal Logging For a few years now, countries such as the Philippians have been using Google Earth as a tool to fight illegal logging in certain areas. Using Google Earth’s aerial view, these authorities are keeping track of those who are illegally cutting down trees in their countries. The Philippine National Police issued a statement thanking Google Earth for their services, and they’re only one of the countries using this tool to combat illegal logging. An aerial view of the area allows authorities to detect when a certain place is being cut, and authorities are often able to catch up with the perpetrators before they get away. This element is universal and has made the detection of illegal logging in tropical areas much easier to detect.
#15 Brazilian Killings As many people know, certain areas of Brazil are notorious for violent crimes. Police and criminals often clash in the streets, leaving dead people on both sides of the conflict. Innocent bystanders are sometimes killed, and gang-related deaths are extremely high in some areas. This and a few other pictures were captured by the Google Earth car back in 2010. They weren’t on the site for long, which gives further authenticity to the images. If Google hadn’t taken them down, then there would be some who claimed they were fake. This photo shows a chilling image of what appears to be a body in a trash bag. It was accompanied by at least two other photos of dead people on the same street, giving a glimpse into the stark reality that many local residents face every day.

The Daily Tulip – International News From Around The World
Thursday 23rd March 2017
Good Morning Gentle Reader… Lots of thick clouds cover the town of Estepona where I live this morning, and we have a promise of rain this afternoon by the weather office on my phone, funny how we have become so reliant on this device we keep in our bag or pocket depending on your gender… read the news, read Facebook, I expect some of you are reading The Daily Tulip as we speak on your “Smart Phone” ..it tells us the time, tells where we are when were lost, tells us the weather, tells us the news, and believe it or not we can even make calls on it… I hate the Dam Thing! I pick my wife up from work, she’s texting her sisters, she’s texting a colleague at the clinic, she’s texting to the university about a course she’s doing, I get home, both son and daughter are holding their phones texting… have we lost the ability to speak or does it have to be discussed via a text?.. here endeath the rant…..
LONDON ATTACK: FOUR DEAD IN WESTMINSTER TERROR INCIDENT…. Four people, including an armed police officer and a man believed to be the attacker, have died in a terrorist incident near the UK's Houses of Parliament, Scotland Yard has said. One of the victims was among several pedestrians hit by a car on Westminster Bridge, before it crashed. An officer protecting Parliament was stabbed by an attacker, who was shot by police. At least 20 people were injured, including three other officers. Acting Deputy Commissioner and head of counter terrorism at the Metropolitan Police, Mark Rowley, said a major terrorist investigation was under way. He said the attack started shortly before 15:00 GMT when the car was driven over Westminster Bridge, hitting and injuring a number of members of the public and the three police officers, who were on their way back from a commendation ceremony. Mr Rowley said after the car crashed, a man armed with the knife "continued the attack and tried to enter Parliament". Witnesses say there was what appeared to be a warning shout and then the crack of three or four shots before the attacker fell to the floor. Foreign Office minister Tobias Ellwood - a former Army officer whose brother died in the Bali terrorist bombing in 2002 - attempted mouth-to-mouth resuscitation of an injured police officer. Prime Minister Theresa May is to chair a meeting of the government's emergency Cobra committee later. Speaking ahead of the meeting, a Downing Street spokesman said: "The thoughts of the PM and the government are with those killed and injured in this appalling incident, and with their families." Metropolitan Police Federation chairman Ken Marsh said: "We offer our deepest sympathy to the family of the officer who has died. This incident shows the dangers our colleagues face on a daily basis." The French Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said three French school pupils were among the injured and offered "solidarity with our British friends, and full support" for the wounded students and their families. The Port of London Authority said a woman has been pulled alive from the River Thames near the bridge and was being treated for serious injuries.
SHAQ JOINS KYRIE IRVING IN FLAT-EARTH THEORY…. Apparently science is losing ground around the world of sports. Coming to the defense of NBA star Kyrie Irving, who last month stated against all evidence that the Earth is flat, Shaquille O’Neal has become the fourth basketball player to fly the physics-defying flag. Shaq declared on his podcast, “It’s true. The Earth is flat.” He cited as evidence an impressive string of non sequiturs including Christopher Columbus, long distance drives, building angles, China and “all that stuff about gravity.” For the record, the Earth is not flat.
ALMOST HALF OF CANADIANS WANT REFUGEES ILLEGALLY CROSSING INTO CANADA DEPORTED…. Nearly half of Canadians want to deport people who are illegally crossing into Canada from the United States, and a similar number disapprove of how Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is handling the influx, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released on Monday. A significant minority, four out of 10 respondents, said the border crossers could make Canada “less safe,” underlining the potential political risk for Trudeau’s Liberal government.
YOUNG WOMEN’S PUBIC HAIR GROOMING PRACTICES ‘CONCERNING’ TO DOCTORS…. For many young women, getting their pubic hair ripped out has become a monthly (and often costly) ritual. According to a new study published this week in JAMA Dermatology, 83 per cent of over 3,300 women surveyed across America do some form of personal grooming. The practice appears to be most common among white and college-educated women between the ages of 18 to 34. What’s troubling for lead author and gynecologist Tami Rowen is how early some girls start the habit. “I just saw a 14-year-old this morning who’s not sexually active… [already] grooming. She doesn’t typically see a lot of teens, but her colleagues who do say, “this is very regular.” It’s partly what made her want to do this study. Her other worry is why women choose to go bare down there. Nearly a third of those surveyed believe grooming makes their genitals “more attractive,” while 21 per cent admit they do it for their partner. A whopping 60 per cent of them claim they do it for “hygienic reasons.” “I think the idea that women think that this is somehow hygienic is pretty concerning,” said Rowen. “Because I don’t think there’s any medical reason to believe that.” Aside from reducing the risk of pubic lice (aka “crabs”), Rowen explained that getting rid of pubic hair can actually lead to a whole host of problems, including lacerations, burns, allergic reactions and abscesses.
ARKANSAS TO EXECUTE 8 PEOPLE IN 10 DAYS, SLAMMED FOR ‘KILLING SPREE’ BY ACLU… The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is taking the state of Arkansas to task for its unprecedented plan to execute eight inmates in 10 days between April 17 and 27. Arkansas hasn’t put an inmate to death since 2005 due to roadblocks in procuring lethal injection drugs after a sales ban by major pharmaceutical makers. But last week, a state corrections spokesman said authorities had procured a new supply of the controversial drug midazolam, allowing for the executions to go ahead. Midazolam is intended to render the inmate unconscious before two other chemicals are administered to paralyze the lungs and stop the heart. But death penalty opponents say the drug is ineffective and causes undue pain and suffering. “By racing to use a drug known to play a part in botched executions, the governor risks debasing the state of Arkansas, its citizens, and the very American traditions of justice by torturing prisoners to death,” ACLU attorney Brian Stull wrote in a blog post. Stull cited the botched execution of Arizona man Joseph Wood who, after being given 15 doses of a lethal drug cocktail that included midazolam, gulped and snorted for nearly two hours before dying. He also noted the case of an Alabama man who remained conscious and responsive several minutes into his execution last December. The suffering caused to inmates by midazolam could be further compounded by human error as a result of a packed execution schedule, Stull wrote, with two inmates slated to be executed on each of April 17, 20, 24 and 27. Only on one occasion has a state attempted to execute two prisoners on the same day using midazolam — and it didn’t end well. In 2014, Oklahoma authorities aborted the second of two planned executions after the first was severely botched, with victim Clayton Lockett succumbing to a heart attack after squirming and groaning for several minutes, even attempting to rise from the execution platform well after he was declared unconscious.
