on the right, we have spoon, who has won every match of wave 5 so far, managing to beat out fork, snowball, pizza, button, and even key.

and on the right, we have headphones, champion of wave 3, who survived their match up with the winner of wave 4, and is now competing to be the champion of wave 5.

you all have 1 week to decide which is the better object, and who will be crowned champion of the fifth wave. Best of luck to both competitors.

Headphones will make a reappearance as the reigning champ in wave 4, but they will be getting some well-deserved rest until then. in the mean time, wave 4 will begin tomorrow with 16 new contestants, with 2 matches per day!! hope yall are ready, because I know I am :3

on a more melancholy note.. Wooden Owl's loss was truly tragic; cue the sad piano music. however, as a headphone user and enjoyer i fully understand the decision that has been made. farewell wooden owl, you will be greatly missed </3

tot2023: WE HAVE A WAVE 4 WINNER

HEADPHONES, THE REIGNING CHAMP OF WAVE 3, HAS WON THE FINAL MATCH AND WILL MAINTAIN ITS PLACE AS THE CHAMPION GOING INTO WAVE 4!!!

with wave 4 done, its now time to move on to wave 5, with 32 new contestants!!! the bracket will be posted shortly, and the first matches will go up tomorrow, June 13th 2023.

just as a reminder, at the end of wave 5, the winner of the next 32 objects will go against the reigning champ, aka headphones, wave 4 champion, and the better of those 2 objects will be crowned the winner of wave 5.

and final reminder: submissions for the tournament are still wide open! were currently at just over 200 submissions, and we need 256 if wave 7 is going to happen. so if you have any objects youd like to compete, submit away! thanks for reading, and i hope you have a great day :)

welcome to the Tumblr Object tournament 2023!!

intro:

"tot2023" is a lot like your average tumblr tournament, except instead of your favorite characters its your favorite things!!! tools, toys, trash, any physical object that you might use in your day to day life.

The first couple waves have already finished, with the winner being a pair of headphones. but don't worry, the tournament wont be stopping any time soon!!

tournament info:

the bracket to this tournament is unique, in that it will expand as the tournament goes on to accommodate new contestants, while still keeping the bracket fair for every object. more info on the bracket here.

The submissions for the tournament are still open and will remain open throughout the competition!! you can submit your objects here or in an ask.

there are a few rules on what does and does not qualify, but theyre all pretty loose, so dont worry too much when submitting. just keep in mind that it must be small enough to hold, non-living, and non-lethal. if needed, the specific rules for submissions can be found here.

other important info:

this tournament was inspired by (or is related to) a bunch of other silly or unusual tournaments, such as @who-do-i-know-this-man, @janmisali 's best number bracket, @ultimate-poll-tournament , @the-nobody-tournament , @thing-fight, @sans-au-sillyman-tournament, and BFDI and BFB by Jack n Jellify (although i didnt notice the similarity until afterwards).
