omg yes, I'm stupid because I saw the header but yk, wanted to confirm lol. I'm from brazil and my team is flamengo, which is funny because just the other day (actually 2019, I think? the time really went by so fast) flamengo and liverpool faced each other at the fifa club world cup :P anyway, thanks for the answer and can't wait for the story!! <3
Haha, that’s no problem! I love that someone asked. And yess, I remember the game because I watched the whole thing—plus, Brazilian players have really blessed Liverpool FC.
Brazilians and football are such a good mix, so I obviously needed a Brazilian ro and created L! Can’t wait to bring the story to you <3

When you look at Benzema for Al ittihad , benzema took a year and a half, near two years to get back to where he is now. Neymar had been injured , playing against Uruguay:( , and then again and that led to him needing time. For the record his comment didn't clap back at Jorge Jesus but his comment exposed that Jorge Jesus didn't believe in Neymar , considering Jesus's time at Flamengo, Jesus has not shown a faith to brasilians which as a portuguese is interesting, but Neymar didn't insult him just spoke the truth. He will need time. I admit I still wish he would had stayed at al-hilal but if he would had stayed, then no chance of the selecao next year. These six months is to see if he can get into the selecao. If he doesn't i argue it is a waste of time but I imagine MLS is next.
For his five a side he played side Messi or Mbappe but I always felt PSG needed to get Pogba. I really think that was a galactique that PSG for whatever reason was unwilling to pay for. and Pogba in defense is another player like Neymar who had rough injuries. I would love Pogba to come to Santos or maybe join Neymar in an MLS adventure. Sadfully, I don't know where in MLS as all the teams in Los angeles or New York city are taken or corporate. With that being said, maybe Neymar+Pogba playing for a Liga MX side will happen, I think that will be huge cause Liga MX teams are better but which one?

Neymar makes his comeback for Santos and then takes a shot at his former coach Story by MAURICIO SAVARESE, AP Sports Writer SANTOS, Brazil (AP) — Neymar took powerful shots from the edge of the box and ran above his own expectations in 52 minutes on the pitch for Santos on Wednesday in his first game for the Brazilian club since his return last week.
Then he took the opportunity to hit back at his former Al-Hilal coach, Jorge Jesus, who had cast doubts over Neymar's form to play.
The 33-year-old striker wasn't able to cap his night at Vila Belmiro Stadium with a win on his birthday — Santos drew 1-1 draw with Botafogo Ribeirao Preto, a team fighting relegation in the Sao Paulo state championship. “I need more minutes, more matches. I am not 100%, but I didn’t expect to run as much as I did tonight,” Neymar, who is still recovering from ACL surgery, told journalists. “I will be much better three, four games from now.”
He replaced Gabriel Bontempo after the break and was immediately the center of attention. He became the most fouled player, with five challenges from rivals, in the second half. Neymar also took six shots on goal and gave 22 passes, some as sharp as those in his prime. Saudi club Al-Hilal terminated Neymar’s contract by mutual consent last week, six months early, after he played only seven matches since September 2023. The ACL injury sidelined him for a year until October.
Speaking after the match, Neymar said his performance was also a response to the negative comments of his former coach. “I knew that I was going to show something different on the pitch,” Neymar told Brazilian channel CazeTV at Vila Belmiro Stadium. “The pitch is the only place where I can defend myself from that criticism, those comments.”
“I said (at Al-Hilal) that I was ready to play. Not for 90 minutes, I had a super serious injury and then I had another injury,” he added. “I need fans to have some patience.”
Neymar has signed a six-month contract with Santos, which he said could be extended.
Santos opened the scoring before 20,000 fans when Tiquinho Soares converted a penalty in the 38th minute. Alexandre Jesus equalized with a header in the 67th.
Santos wasted several scoring opportunities, including two clear chances after Neymar passes. Once the final whistle was blown, players from the visiting team raced to take pictures with the star.
“I left here at age 21, I travelled the world, made history in the clubs I played for," Neymar said. “This (taking pictures with rivals) is the respect I get back home.”
Neymar played 225 matches for Santos in his first spell. He scored 138 goals, many of them key to winning six titles at the club, which was relegated in 2023 and returned to the top division last year.
As promised, Neymar did not wear the No. 11 that was his during his first spell from 2009-13; he had Pelé’s No. 10.
Neymar was the most expensive player in soccer history when he transferred from Barcelona to PSG for 222 million euros (then $262 million) in 2017. He was sold to Al-Hilal in 2023 for 90 million euros ($94 million). Neymar's true feelings on Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe revealed as 'dream' five-a-side team named Neymar recently spoke about Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe. Published 06:30 13 Feb 2025 GMT Marcus Chan Neymar has spoken about Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe as his 'dream' five-a-side team is revealed.
Brazilian superstar Neymar is one of the best players of his generation, having played for the likes of Santos, Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain and Al Hilal.
Last month, the 32-year-old's reported £1.6 million per-week contract at Al Hilal has been terminated by mutual consent amid reports of a return to Brazil. He has since returned to former club Santos on a deal worth approximately £135,507 (R$1 million) per month, according to the Daily Mail – which works out at around £32,500 per week.
Recently, the Brazilian spoke about his relationship with former PSG teammates Messi and Mbappe during a sit-down interview with former Brazil striker Romario. “Mbappe was not annoying. When Messi came, I think he became a little jealous," he said, as per Fabrizio Romano.
“I had my things with him, we had a little fight. He was a boy… that in the beginning was key, I used to call him ‘Golden Boy’, I spoke to him, played around with him, told him he’d be one of the best, I always help, always had conversations with him.
“When Leo [Messi] arrived, he became a little jealous. He didn’t want to share me with anyone. That’s how the fights started, the change in behaviour." Back in 2020, Neymar included both Mbappe and Messi when he was asked to pick a 'current' and 'legendary' five-a-side team. The one rule was that he was not allowed to pick any Brazilian players. As reported by The Sun, Neymar selected Mbappe, Messi, Paul Pogba, Eden Hazard and Luis Suarez.
For the legends team, Neymar picked Thierry Henry, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Xavi and David Beckham.
When speaking about ego, Neymar said: "It is good to have egos," he said. "But you have to know that you don't play alone. There needs to be another guy by your side. (Big) egos were almost everywhere, it can't work." https://www.sportbible.com/football/football-news/neymar-lionel-messi-kylian-mbappe-284155-20250212
