hello friends! i have been slowly learning how to bind, a real journey! after binding False Dichotomy by chamel, i took the leap and bound my longfic, proposal au!

it has been very satisfying to immortalize something i wrote!!! i had a lot of fun making the typeset and becoming ungovernable in Canva, from the covers to the endpapers to the bookmarks. canva pro...dangerous game...

the cover may be minimalist...but inside i am hiding many Secrets...mechanical bulls...copious amounts of introspection...riding jokes...a marriage of convenience...snarky henry...😏

the chapter headers were so fun to make, it was my first time getting a bit more creative with the design of the typeset and i really like how it turned out.

also love an exposed spine and getting to see the stitching! a bit different compared to the hardcover binds, but i am a fan! MAJOR respect for people who can make hardcovers, i absolutely cannot. the amount of detail and glue involved...i know my limits fjaksldjflkasdf.

i made two bookmarks, double sided. this is one, the other is secret and will be sent with the binds as a fun surprise for my betas :)

anyway. it feels like the end of a very long, cathartic journey. this fic was the first thing i started writing in this fandom, and i continue to be very proud of it and incredibly happy that people enjoy it :) this fandom and writing and putting myself out there has gotten me through a rough year, and i am so so grateful for everyone i have met in my wonderful community!!! thank you for reading, engaging, and supporting. much love!!!!

I was tagged by @heytheredeann​, thank you! This is gonna be a little embarassing because my blog is only less than a year old, but whatevs.

1. Why did you choose your url? - It’s a variant of chamel (my AO3 username) and refers to Charadrius melodius, the Piping Plover

2. Any side blogs? - Nope, this is my one and only.

3. How long have you been on Tumblr? - Since July of 2020 lol.

4. Do you have a queue tag? - Nope. I freely admit I barely know How To Tumblr, and the queue is one thing that I just don’t understand the point of lol. I reblog ad hoc.

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place? - Looking for fandom community. I knew some other writers who had tumblrs, so I joined because I felt like I was missing out on something by only hanging around AO3.

6. Why did you choose your icon/pfp? - I strongly identify with Carol so when I wanted to choose a character to represent me I chose her. Also this particular shot of her with skeptical face and short hair particularly encapsulates me, lol.

7. Why did you choose your header? - Napoleon and Illya on the vespa is preeeetty much my favorite. Gotta have my OTP up there, watching over things.

8. What’s your post with the most notes? - This fanart I commissioned of a scene from one of my fics.

9. How many mutuals do you have? - Around 20

10. How many followers do you have? - Uh, 123 apparently? Which I know is small potatoes, but it’s a lot for me, lol! I feel honored that many people put up with me. Thank you all!

11. How many people do you follow? - 30

12. Have you ever made a shitpost? - Hmm. Maybe? Idk the strict definition of a shitpost. I may be too old for this, lol.

13. How often do you use Tumblr each day? - I check in a few times a day

14. Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once? - Not on tumblr, though I participated in a flame war or two back in the day *shakes my cane at you*. I’m too jaded to get in arguments on the internet anymore, lol.

15. How do you feel about “you need to reblog this” posts? - I agree that no one should feel pressured to reblog anything. My blog is my blog, and it’s also my sanctuary against the outside world, so I’m only going to reblog stuff I like. But if people think it’s important to reblog on THEIR blogs, more power to them.

16. Do you like tag games? - Obviously, lol. I almost always respond to tag games unless I feel like it’s going to jeopardize my anonymity in some way.

17. Do you like ask games? - I LOVE ask games, lol. I reblog them a lot, usually ones about writing. And I’m thrilled when people ask me things!

18. Which of your mutuals do you think is Tumblr famous? - Obviously Ely! But really I don’t have any idea lol.

19. Do you have a crush on a mutual? What mutual don’t I have a crush on <– stealing this answer lol.
