Soy Rufus Shinra Headcanons

Because its new years.

Rufus always gets to drunk on New Years.  Champagne makes him giddy super quick and it goes down so smooth.

After two years of him being a wreck, Tseng or Cissnei are always on guard with sparkling water to exchange his glasses so that he is still drinking with a glass in his hand, but doesn’t end up sleeping with his head in his toilet. 

Rufus doesn’t like being without Dark.  Dark is left at home, which is why he is drinking so much.  Dark doesn’t like being without Rufus.  Reno is often the one watching her and he gets bit or shocked at least once in his stay in Rufus’ condo, waiting for the drunk man to return.

Rufus hates the whole company party and shaking hands with people.   He was very good at faking that he was happy to be there.

On his eighteenth birthday, he didn’t even show up.  He took off to Junon with Reno and spent a week drunk on the beach and gained a tattoo is well hidden under his layer of clothes.

Before he goes through the plan of trying to kill his father he was engaged to a woman that he tolerated.  He planned on marrying her, to keep up appearances at least, but since his plan to kill his dad didn’t really work out all that well, she married someone else that he had Tseng stalk for him.

Rufus tried cocaine once.  It made his heart beat so fast that he thought he was going to die.  He doesn’t like weed because the smell would get in his clothes and he hated smelling like the weed.  He just sticks to alcohol.
