How many hobbies have they attempted to have over their lifetime? Is there a common theme?
All of my muses grew up connected to their cultures, so they all know how to do two of the most important crafts in Hoennese cultures: beadwork and bone carving. This especially goes for Asteria, Zinnia and Zíniya who were raised being trained to be Lorekeepers--one thing Lorekeepers do is make regalia to honor people in society who through bravery and kindness have earned the right to wear such precious works of art. At that point it's beyond a hobby, it's part of their religion. But they all have amazing skill at the craft which does serve Asteria and Zinnia well when they want to do fun things like beading characters from their favorite books and shows onto household objects like backpacks, wallets and purses.
Unfortunately for Asteria, her ambition left her little room to pick up other hobbies until later in life when she matured and realized that winning & being the strongest wasn't everything. Brendan on the other hand has tried picking up lots of hobbies during his break from the spotlight. He loves playing wholesome video games that were created specifically with children in mind but that are really for all ages, games similar to Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing. He tried writing fiction and poetry; he really is still a novice at it, but at least he enjoys it. He also loves doing different sports like swimming, skateboarding, badminton, etc. He got into woodworking and picked it up pretty well, seeing it as similar to bone carving. And of course he loves Coordinating, though he never saw as much success in it as May did. The only common theme to his hobbies is that he's willing to try anything and he usually ends up being decently good at it. He's a jack of all trades and master of none.
Wallace was in a similar boat as Asteria--his ambitions left him little room to develop hobbies on the side. But unlike Asteria who deliberately withheld herself from hobbies that weren't battling and Coordinating, Wallace just never did much outside Coordinating (which like art is to most artists is both a hobby and a job) because he was genuinely never interested in branching out. Apart from Coordinating, he would swim, dive, draw and make crafts in what little spare time he had, but it was only Steven who convinced him to branch out into other things. Thanks to Steven, spelunking is now one of his hobbies. Wallace eventually hopes to go cave diving with Steven once the guy learns how to swim better; for Steven, the promise of being able to eventually dive in caves (and with his husband, no less) is a huge motivation for him to overcome his hydrophobia and learn how to swim.
As far as Steven goes, though, he's like me in that his AuDHD hyperfixation on his already existing hobbies is so strong it's super hard to get him to accept new hobbies as well. Just like my other main hobbies (video games and drawing) tend to fall by the wayside because I'm so hyperfocused on writing and researching for writing, Steven likes to obsessively devote all of his free time to geology and time spent with his Rock-, Steel-, Dragon- and Ground-type Pokémon. However, being Archchosen of Groudon on top of being a secret Sootopolitan comes with a huge heaping dose of its own responsibilities: Groudon, as the Pokémon representing the Earth, has a surprising green thumb, which means their Archchosen needs one as well. Steven is thus currently in the process of taking up gardening as a hobby. Despite a very rocky start (he couldn't even properly care for a cactus), he is slowly getting the hang of it…though Wallace will always teasingly hold it over his head that he accidentally killed his first cactus, which Wallace had gotten him knowing cacti are some of the easiest plants to care for and thinking he couldn't possibly mess it up.

Pspsps CaFae Latte fans share your most out there headcanon pls I beg
I shall start, Lindsey and Nancy are both part siren. They were originally from a place that was very anti fae, vampire, demon, etc so their parents put a permanent glamour on them. Nancy knows and has been trying to figure out how to use any possible powers she has, Lindsey has no clue but is starting to become aware that there is some sort of spell on her.

~🌸~ Zinnia! ~🌸~
@meadow-roses and I have had this headcanon/AU for awhile where Ava is Lauriam and Strelitzia's sister (she's the middle kid). She went missing (was kidnapped) when she was young and was raised by The Master. But here's what she'd look like if she grew up with her flower sibs!
Ava headcanon over here for reference

My headcanon is that while the party travels Astarion and Tav, when they're in a romance, spend their time snarking about the party and the different quests like the old muppets in the box

Hehe I want to return the favor and ask which of YOUR blorbos (Pokemon or not, your choice) would get way into a snowball fight and which would be watching from inside, cozy and warm
Okay so let's start with the Pokemon blorbos and see how many others I remember off the top of my head after that.
Cynthia: She's a Sinnoh girl born and raised, woe to anyone who faces her on the field of snowy battle. Fortunately for the children of Eterna City, she doesn't engage in snowball fights too often. (Though she did teach Gardenia and Candice a few things) Her Garchomp, nesting for the winter in heated blankets and pillows, needs near-constant attention due to being a spoiled little shark baby. Sometimes a Luxury Ball just isn't enough.
Courtney: Team Magma is no stranger to the art of snowball fights. Each winter in Hoenn, Pokemon battles for territory and glory against Team Aqua are often substituted with elegant volleys of frigid projectiles. Courtney studies optimal formations, develops methods of constructing advanced snow forts, and brews the finest hot cocoa to keep their troops' morale up while in the trenches. Despite having long since established the rules of engagement for their winter warfare, both sides cheat. Shelly is irritatingly skilled at sabotage and subterfuge.
Guzma: The only place where snow happens naturally on Alola is on the peak of Mount Lanakila, and Guzma's specialty is Bug-types. Safe to say that he and the rest of Team Skull would be staying inside if they were ever caught in a snowstorm somehow.
Zinnia: She gets way too intense about it after Lisia teaches her the basics. Snowballs with gravel inside, snow-sludge balls aimed between the gaps in her opponents' "armor", close-quarters grappling while threatening some poor teen with an icicle dagger. Zinnia respects opponents who fight back, and enjoys the chase when they try to flee. She'd probably try to use Rayquaza to summon a hailstorm if she ever found herself on the losing side. Meanwhile Lisia got too cold after 5 minutes and went back inside to have hot cocoa with her uncle Wallace while she waits for her GF to finish annihilating the competition.
Drayden, Iris, Looker, and Drasna would all stay inside, not much more to say about them. Moving on to the non-Pokemon blorbos, beneath the cut because this post's already long.
Normally Entrapta's fine with staying inside in her furnace heated science-castle and eating mini-cookies with her hot cocoa, but if Frosta invited her to a snowball fight she'd probably find some way to enjoy it. Building some sort of automatic snowball packing machine, maybe. Unfortunately she probably couldn't use her hair as throwing arms since that'd just make her get cold even faster. Hordak definitely isn't leaving the house, his scrawny ass can barley handle autumn.
Speaking of scrawny dramatic nerds who can't handle cold temperatures, Dirk Strider is from a distant future bad ending Earth that flooded due to global warming, spending his childhood living in the ruinous seascape that used to be Texas. No way in hell that guy's staying outside once it dips below 60, maybe 50 degrees F.
You'd think Princess Rosalina would be solidly in the "Goes hard in a snowball fight" category, since she has magic telekinesis-gravity powers and her Mario Kart maps indicate that she enjoys winter weather. Only one problem: She's used to being almost entirely alone. Lumas can't pack snowballs with their tiny stub arms. Thus, Rosalina is firmly in the "enjoying hot cocoa indoors" category, likely cuddling on a couch next to Samus Aran.
Lastly, Hunter Noceda would definitely take a snowball fight way too seriously. He may or may not win, but he'll certainly have fun doing it. Willow might not have full access to her usual plant magic in a winter climate, but that won't stop her from winning.

Why do I care so much about deciphering character ages in Pokemon?
Simply put, angst. Or in long terms-
The art of storytelling is not so cut and dry, anyone with basic media literacy knows this. There is so much subtext and unspoken information that rings loudly in the implications of a story, something as simple as the age of an MC will dictate how heavily their experiences will affect them. Using the Gen6 games as examples (XY and Omega Ruby specifically)
By figuring out where to place Calem Serena and Zinnia in age, the story they live through gains added context. They all share the same bracket of 18-19 meaning they are in they’re late late teens and budding into the incoming subconscious weight of young adulthood, the subconscious urge to be stronger and reckless to prove yourself as capable in the real world; while still being young and having so much to learn. They have further motive to get involved in the heavy actions they take and will fall and break down even harder when they fail. Such is the right of growing up.
And for more adult characters, the same still holds true.
Doing the same thing I did with the kalos protags age by calculating off of a canon characters official age (emma) and then taking into account mannerisms dialogue and design; Admin Tabitha from team magma is officially 27, stated by himself. So going off of the work place hierarchy, Leader Maxie with his experience and status should be in his late 40s to maybe early 50s, making him the prime age for an early onset midlife crisis, linking that to his past relationships with Archie and the reasoning for making his team, his clear strong sense of justice even if misplaced, you have a man who can quickly spiral into a rather pitiful sight if pushed too hard in the wrong direction. First he bares his teeth, then he whines. Like a scared dog trying to protect itself and the image he has made for himself.
Meanwhile Courtney who is evidently more experienced than Tabitha is confirmed to have been with the team longer than him, as his paperwork is still seated on her desk, seems to be in her early 20s, I originally assumed she was in her mid 20s but then she released in pokemon masters and I was able to study her behavior more closely, she has this uncanny glimpse of childlike wonder at times that makes me believe she’s maybe younger than Tabitha, that added to the fact Tabitha seems to look out for her with her social struggles, almost taking on a brotherly role it seems.
Her being in her early twenties adds more weight to her codependency on Maxie as well as her reckless devotion, she’s younger and somewhat impressionable, she’s not against violent action to protect her passions.
And because I was able to gather Courtney had more experience while being younger I can come to the conclusion that it’s very possible Courtney was a science prodigy of some sort, as she is known in her field. And seeing she’s been with team magma longer and has evident close bonds with Maxie, it’s even more possible they worked together when she was younger.
Originally that led me to the thought she might have worked in relation to the Devon corporation, but with the art of visual storytelling in Sea Mauville, it’s not insane to assume Archie and Maxie may have worked together with the Mauville Corporation and that’s what makes them so jaded in modern day, a bad work environment being a stepping stone to their fall from grace. By Sea Mauville’s writings alone I don’t see them being against overworking a young teen prodigy. It’s possible maybe leader Maxie knew Courtney from his time there and brought her onto his team when the company went under. (This also means I need to retcon tf out of my in character Courtney blog.)
This also can explain Courtney’s role playing more into a team disciplinary, her time in Sea Mauville so young could’ve taught her to be more aggressive in order to earn her respect and get better outcome from rookie labor, as it’s heavily shown grunts seem to fear Courtney in some respects.
And ALL of this is merely the writing on the wall I can read when I take into account the age of our cast

Todays IDK-where-that-came-from headcanon:
The village of dragons in pokemon - a place we never visit and only know one person from - is somewhere in middle America.
The people there are also distant relatives of the draconid people of Hoennen, sharing distinctive red eyes.
(I know where that last bit came from; me noticing how similar Iris and Zinnias eye color is)

I've really been Going Through It these past few days and I'm not really in the headspace to write anything relating to loss/mourning, but someday when I do have the energy/headspace I want to work on bonfire letters that Asteria and Zinnia wrote to their dead sister Aster, and that Volo wrote to his deceased child.

What are your thought on Minior?
Bulbapedia link for reference if you've never heard of it: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Minior_(Pok%C3%A9mon)
Big fan. Little meteor guys. Like big meteors but small so I don't have to worry about them.
Little known fact, but you can actually find them around Meteor Falls back in Hoenn. They just like to hide.

once again, i am asking for the general consensus on how old everyone thinks a pokémon character is. this time i wanna know about ppl's headcanon age for zinnia, bc i feel like the interpretations of her age varies even more than lear's.
( again, this poll isn't meant to invalidate anyone's personal headcanons. i'm just curious about how old others think zinnia is. )

Dragon Age & Subconscious Magic
This is a headcanon I'm borrowing & expanding on from this wonderful fan fic (suggestive, read its tags).
Magic responds to its users, and it affects the environment around them in subtle ways. Typically reaching for the speciality of its owner, so a practiced plant mage would affect the plants around them for example.
In most circumstances this is rather minor; flames flickering in a specific pattern, a flower wilting or perking up, a bit of frost on the grass. However in places with no veil or in the fade it becomes far more noticeable; flames taking shapes, plants blooming, the air temperature dropping a few degrees.
Circles train this out of the mages they instruct, making it even less noticeable with them usually, though even then not fully gone. It's taken as a sign of poor control and in a rare few extreme cases was used as justification to make a mage tranquil.
Even those with the same elemental leanings are likely to express that differently based off of their personality and magical training.
My Muse's Ambient Magic
Anders (Fire)
Pre-DAI: Thanks to the circle his magic has become withdrawn and rarely out of his conscious control. Rarely when he's feeling something intense very vague shapes can be made out in nearby flames, almost like an ink blot test.
Post-DAI: Now with the proper time and ability to heal from the damage done to him, his magic has slowly let itself become more visible. The ink blot like visages appear with less intense emotions, and with more intense emotions discernible shapes can be made out.
Justice (Ice)
Being a creature of the fade and not having been in a circle, he has little control of his subconscious magic. Water tends to freeze or thaw around him when feeling an intense emotion with no outlet.
Dorian Pavus (Fire)
Being a Tevinter Altus he was taught to hide his tells when around those he doesn't trust, as such only when alone or around friends does his magic show itself. Flames flicker, grow, or shrink in response to strong emotions of his.
Zinnia Lavellan (Ice & Arcane)
Pre-Inquisiton: Her clan did not interfere with her magical growth, as such it readily shows itself. Mostly when she's afraid to things nearby get a bit of frost that quickly dissipates.
With The Mark: The mark makes her magic only more apparent, making the air around her cool when angry or fed up. Also the fade itself starts reacting to her, manifesting as sparks of green energy when especially excited or nervous.
Post-Mark: With the mark gone the fade related manifestations go away, though the ice related ones remain. Also when angry or fed up her magical arm goes cold to the touch.
