so just saying i was thinking about it a lot at work. yusuke barely finished middle school at, 18, between all his duties coming before his actual education. that he didn't really want to strive for. in my opinion i think yusuke isn't dumb academically except that is another headcanon for another day. yusuke doesn't become a ramen stand owner, as for why it's really quite simple, but i think it's neat if yusuke opens up his own paranormal investigator. there is a peace between spirit world, demon world, and the human world. though as togashi never intended to further the lore and only through the ova did we get something new. yusuke is at least 25 when a stirr starts again. the demons are getting more stir crazy. yusuke solves cases similar to the days when he worked under koenma. except that he is an independent operator that is sanctioned by spirit world, and maybe yusuke has trained others? hard telling...but he does try not to make a living off of this. i doubt with the vast land left to the group by genkai that they would ever need to worry. yusuke uses this position to try to continue relations between all parties. yusuke institutes to all those that work with him ( as how large this venture of his goes ) if it's a budding agency, or what though the biggest order is that there is a strict: no killing demons, humans, or spirits policy.
it's a job that neither his mother or keiko aren’t very fond off. kuwabara helps out in his free time, kurama assists with anything in relation to using that big brain of his, and hiei helps simply whenever he feels like it. yusuke however did get japans equivalent to an american ged, but i didn't want to relay it's full name because it's long. this can kind of stand as a headcanon and canon divergence explanation for yusuke.
