“Hey, Tae, be honest with me-”

“Yes, shaving your head when you were 15 was a bit much.” Your best friend retorts, not even look up from his phone.

“Okay, first off, irrelevant, secondly, I was trying to make a point.” You defend, pursing your lips at the lanky man lounging on your bed.

“You mean the one on the top of your head?” He asks, blinking at you innocently before he finally registers what you're wearing. His face brightens at the blue sundress and its sunflower pattern, something you almost never wore. “What are you doing looking so cute for?”

“I've got a date,” You grin, twirling slightly. “Do you think its too much?” You turn to fully face him, gesturing to your makeup and the loose bun on the top of your head. He leans forward, gaze turning into the judgmental one you were used to him giving other designers.

“Don't wear the hoops, and definitely not a red lip.” He decides, “Oh, and wear those white sandals I bought you last year.” You nod in agreement, skipping off towards your closet to fetch the shoes. “By the way, who are you going out with?” 

“Hoseok.” You call and you can practically see the wheels turning in his head.

“Which one? Lee? The bodybuilder looking dude?”

“No, the dancer, Jung I think.” You answer coming back into your bedroom, spinning for your best friend to see. “Anyway, we're going to get coffee and maybe to that little music festival in the park.”

“Oh, hey, what are you doing dressed so cute?” You sigh as Jungkook lets himself into your apartment.

“Why are you here, Kookie?” You ask, turning to the boy who grins, “And when am I getting that key back?”

“Uh, cause Tae asked if I wanted to go out today and never.” He answers, planting a quick kiss on your cheek and flopping onto your bed. “Anyway, answer my question.”

“Our beautiful bestie here has a date.” Tae answers and Kook's eyes go wide.

“Ooooh. With who?”

“Jung Hoseok.” You answer, picking up your phone and a little bag, “And he's supposed to be here soon.”

“The bodybuilder?”

“No the dancer.”

“Oh, Namjoon hyung's friend.” Kook realizes.

“The bodybuilder is Lee Hoseok, and he's actually a singer, he just works out a lot.” You defend, as someone knocks on your front door. You stride over, finding Hoseok waiting for you on the other side. He smiles brightly, almost blindingly, and you can't help smiling back.

“Hi, you look really good.”

“Thank you, you look really handsome.”

“Are you ready?” He asks, holding out a hand and your smile widens.

“Absolutely. One sec.” You lean back to where Jungkook and Tae are peeking around the wall. “Lock the door before you leave and don't eat all my food.” You order, shouldering your bag as they nod at you.

“Was that your roommates?” Hoseok asks, offering you his arm as you begin to walk.

“Oh no. I mean they pretty much live with me, but they don't pay rent.” He giggles, actually giggles, at your comment, and your heart flutters. God, he's cute.

You don't end up getting coffee before the show. You do, however, end up with funnel cake as the first artist takes to the stage. Most of the performers are rappers or dancers, and you can tell Hoseok is a little shocked at your love for rap.

“Hey, I'll be right back.” He whispers as the next group, some kids called 3Racha begin their set. The sun is long set, and you had been enjoying leaning against him for warmth.

“You're gonna miss the show.” You pout, and he only chuckles.

“You'll have to tell me about it when I get back, here.” He pulls his leather jacket off his shoulders, draping it over yours instead. “So you don't get cold.” You pout at him again.

“Hurry back.” You demand, which makes him smile again as he leans down to kiss your cheek. You're thankful for the darkness as your cheeks heat up, and before you can say anything else, Hoseok is picking his way through the crowd and out of sight.

3Racha's set is great, the boys are super talented and their lyrics are more meaningful than most songs about money or sex. You make a mental note to look them up on SoundCloud as the lights dim for the next performer.

“Up now, Suga, Rm, and Jhope, performing their songs Ddaeng and Cypher 4.” Your head perks up at this, you knew about those three, they didn't really have a group name, most people just called them “The Rap Line” but their music was great, a fantastic mix of hip hop and rock, combined with their killer rap styles. You hadn't known they were performing tonight, if you had, you wouldn't have let Hoseok walk away, wanting to expose him to one of your favorite groups. As the three came out on stage you felt your soul leave your body. In all the years you had been a fan, you had never seen their faces, they always wore sunglasses and hats in an attempt to hide, but today, they had chosen to finally expose their identities to the public. The initial shock came from RM, with him being Namjoon, aka the man your best friends' had known for years. Suga was his roommate, which once you knew who Namjoon was, knowing he was with Yoongi just made sense. Then J-Hope, your favorite, came out, and your jaw fell.

Jung Hoseok.

The man had run off to go perform, and you had literally been a fan of him for years. This was a fan-fiction right? There was no way the cute, funny, dork that was Jung Hoseok, was also the charismatic sex god that was J-Hope. What duality.

When their set was over, you made your way towards the stage, finding him chatting with a few others as he cooled off. Somehow it wasn't shocking to find Kim Seokjin and Park Jimin there, they were Namjoon and Yoongi's boyfriends, respectively, but also finding Tae and Kookie there made you want to kill them. They didn't notice you at first, but when Hoseok finally did, his whole face lit up, and he jogged over to you, grinning like a kid.

“Hey, what did you think of the show?” You blink up at him for a moment before lightly smacking his arm.

“Are you kidding me? Why didn't you tell me you were performing tonight?” His grin somehow broadens.

“So you liked it?”

“Liked it? Are you kidding, you guys are her favorite rappers, ever.” Tae interjects.

“And you, why didn't you tell me you knew them?” You turn your glare on your best friend.

“Cause I wanted to see how you'd react to your favorite rapper asking you out.” Your face heats up and your heart sinks a little, of course, they would try to embarrass you on your date, but why did it have to be your date with him?

“Why are you two even here?” Jimin asks, turning to the two youngest boys. “You said you weren't gonna come.”

“The stars aligned,” Kook says, trying to be mysterious.

“Y/n told us she was coming here on her date and he is the biggest Namjoon Simp on the planet.” Tae shrugs, earning a glare from his boyfriend.

“That is true.” Namjoon nods, making everyone laugh. Your laugh, however, is short, and despite best efforts, you're having trouble keeping the smile on your face as dread creeps into your thoughts.

“Hey, can I talk to you?” Hoseok whispers in your ear, tugging you away from the group. This is it then, you think, first and last date. You nod, allowing him to lead you away from the festival and back towards the food court. It's quiet between the two of you until he reaches a small bench under a street light, something like that one scene in La La Land. “Are you upset with me? Cause I didn't tell you who I was.”

“No, of course not.” You assure him, sitting down beside him, “Its just,” You hesitate, unsure why you're even saying anything. “I'm a little embarrassed.”

“How come?”

“I've been a fan of you guys for a while, and of course Tae had to say something, and now I feel like you're just going to think I'm a crazy fan.”

“Not at all.” He immediately counters, making you look at him. “I was actually hoping you were a fan, Taehyung and Jungkook had been telling me about you for years, it took a lot of courage to finally ask you out.”

“Those little shits.” You gasp. “They kept acting like they barely knew you, kept asking if I was going out with Lee Hoseok,”

“The buff singer?”

“Yeah.”

“Wait, does that mean your not roommates were those two?”

For the rest of the night, you and Hoseok strategically avoid your friends, instead dodging through the carnival and strolling along the beach. For the first time in a long time, you're genuinely having fun, and you're greatly enjoying the company your best friends schemed to get you. So when Hoseok pauses outside your door to kiss you goodnight, you make a mental note to thank them, even though you probably won't.

Get to know my character

Taking this for My Stranger Things OC!

01. What does your character’s name mean? Did you pick it for the symbolism, or did you just like the way it sounded? I just like the way it sounded. Plus when I thought of Billy I thought of Mandy from The Cartoon lol Her Full name is Amanda Leigh Moorington. Which I half got from Mandy Moore’s name half got from Steve’s last name. 

02. What is one of your character’s biggest insecurities? Are they able to hide it easily or can others easily exploit this weakness? Her Temper,Her Pride,Her general Insecurities. I can say Mandy is able to hide it better in public and with The Popular Crowd then in Private or around Max,Billy and Steve. 

03. What would be their favorite physical trait about themselves? They’re hair (which has been Brown,Red and Blond) Probably her lips too,Steve says they’re perfect for Kissing and Billy thinks they’re perfect for well...other things ;)

04. What are their favorite traits about their lover? (one psychological and one physical)  Have you seen Billy and Steve? I mean ♥ 

Starting with Billy,Mandy initially fell for him because not only was he hot but he litterly saved her. Twice. But who can ignore that Charm and Sexual Magnitude for long...Plus that Butt! When they first met in California Billy had short hair so it took awhile for her to adjust to the new long curls.But She finally did when she realized that Billy liked it when Mandy played with his hair. Billy even allowed her to braid it into a Rat Tail once but it didn’t end up good. (It was a Rat Tail though so...) 

Personality wise even though Billy can be a prick,Billy’s Private emotional and Caring side outweighs their many Jealous fights in Mandy’s eyes. 

Physically Mandy loves Steve’s hair,I mean who doesn’t?! plus with those caring eyes and preppy but cool fashion sense,If Billy is An 80′s Heartthrob of The Bad Boy variety,Steve would be The Main Popular Boy turned Hopeless Romantic. Plus he’s got killer dance moves lol

 Mandy has liked Steve since Childhood growing up in Hawkins,so She was immediately drawn to him. She prefers him better now though as he is done trying to be Mr Popular Cocky guy and is more Sweet and a dork in public. She also loves how Protective he is with The Kids in their neighborhood. 

05. Are they sexually confident or more of the shy type? Mandy used to be not really Shy but not super confident either,until she moved to California. 

06. Do they have any hobbies that their lover finds unusual, odd, or otherwise annoying? No I don’t think they really pay attention to that. tbh. Steve hates when she smokes though,reminds him of when he tried doing it to be cool. 

07. Is there a catchphrase or sound that they tend to make a lot (likely without being aware of it)? Well Billy can make her make lots of sounds ;) sorry he’s a Perv :p lol No,there’s not.

08. What is, perhaps, their biggest flaw? Are they aware of this or oblivious to it? Mandy would have to be seriously delirious and in denial to not realize she has/had a Drug problem. Also her flirting with other guys in front of Billy would be a flaw too I think,but Billy does it too so...

09. Do they have a favorite season? What about a favorite holiday? Mandy really likes Summer because that’s when she can strut around in her best Bikini when Billy is on Lifeguard duty also when her and Steve can sneak quickies when he’s on lunch break at The Mall. I don’t think she really has a favorite Holiday,maybe Valentine’s Day. 

10. Is your character more feminine or masculine? A bit of Both,she loves being Sexy and wearing makeup,being a Cheerleader but she also just likes lounging around the house,also she can dish it out as good as she takes it. 

11. What is something that would make your character fly into a rage? Billy’s Dad abusing Billy,because then it’s usually taken out on her, unless Billy is feeling unusauly emotional that time then he’ll just let her hold him while he cries. When either of them take it on Max.

12. Is there some particular talent, skill, or attribute that they simply could not give up? Her Book Smarts and her Crossbow Skills,have to fight those Demi Gorgons somehow. 

13. What are your character’s sleeping habits? Heavy or light sleeper? Light sleeper definitely,unless she’s at Steve’s. 

Blanket stealer? Only when she sleeps with Steve lol

One that always rolls onto the floor? Pushes their lover onto the floor? Sleep talker or walker? No,Billy is though. 

14. Do they live alone or with family? How do they feel about their family/roommates? Well...Mandy grew up with just her Parents but awhile after moving to California they died coming home from a business trip,Mandy was already dating Billy at that point and was like a Big Sister to Max so They asked if she could stay with them. despite the combustible home life Mandy moved in. Mainly because she had no where else and she loved Billy and wanted to keep Max safe. Despite she herself not being. 

Mandy has no respect for the Parental Guardians of the house though,she listens to them when she has too but otherwise She thinks Neil is just a terrible person and Susan isn’t much better. 

15. Is there a certain person in this world that they cannot stand? The very mention of this person’s name makes them tremble with anger or fear. Billy’s Parents. 

16. Is your character the athletic type or more of a couch potato? What are some sports/games that they like? Besides Cheerleading and Dance no. Mandy prefers reading to watching TV though,but Billy can convince her to watch Pro Wrestling with him. 

17. Does your character have dreams of getting married and/or having children? Maybe. Mandy is still a Teenager so that is still,thankfully,aways away. Steve is definitely Marriage material and great with Kids. Billy she’s not sure about,but he could definitely surprise her. 

18. What kind of home would they want to live in? Where would they place this abode? Any place but her current situation. Mandy would have loved to leave with Billy and Max back to California. 

19. Would your character be the kind to get into fights? (physical or verbal) Would they be a good fighter or cave in rather easily? OH YES. Mandy has always been one to stand up for herself and vocalize her feelings,sometimes not in the best way. Mandy has had to become good at defending herself,she only caves in private when it becomes too much for her to handle,emotionally. 

20. Does your character like animals? What are some of their favorite animals? Would they want pets? What about mythological creatures? Yes,Billy wants a Big Dog and Steve wants a Cat. Mandy likes both lol

21. What is one of your character’s biggest fears? How would they react when dealing with this fear? Mandy has already dealt with her biggest fears,losing her Parents then Billy. (SPOILERS,GO WATCH ST SEASON 3)

22. What kind of tattoos, piercings, birthmarks, freckles, and other such unique physical features do they have? Besides what I mentioned previously Mandy doesn’t have any other unique features. Surprisingly Mandy doesn’t have any tats or Piercings (besides her ears.) 

23. What is your character like when it comes to school? What subjects are they good/bad at? Do they get in trouble a lot or are well behaved? Mandy used to be very good in school,was a talented Writer and had to keep her grades up so stay on The Squad. Until she started Dating Billy,she has sense rectified that.

In their own words, how would your character describe what their lover is like? in Mandy’s words: “Steve Harrington is Sweet,Funny,great at comforting me when I’m down,The voice of reason when I’m falling apart,He was My Childhood Crush for a reason,he doesn’t hide his feelings and is very Protective over everyone,regardless of his well being,which is why I love him.  

”Billy Hargrove is almost the complete opposite. Billy is Charming,Dangerous,Controlling at first,Hot tempered,Jealous but a flirt. Billy is also Charismatic,Emotional,Strong yet Vulnerable. I’ve seen his softer,gentler side that cares if I’m upset or feels bad for hurting me and I think that’s why I still love him. We do enable each other’s Vices though,but Billy hates when I do hard Drugs. 

25. Is there something traumatic from your character’s past that greatly affects them even to this day? Besides her Parents Death,I would say Billy’s Death was very hard on her,until Eleven let her talk to him from the other side and Mandy was finally able to move on. 

26. What is their lover like sexually? How do they feel about their lover’s quirks, needs, etc?  Physically Steve is very attentive and affectionate, Romantic,I thought he might be a bit too safe until I called him Daddy once...” 

As for Billy our love is all consuming,sometimes very Rough,sometimes very Passionate,sometimes were Sober sometimes were not. Billy is very into PDA and not afraid to let others know I’m his girl and Vice Versa.

27. If your character was going to get arrested, what would be the most likely reason for it? Stealing something like Alcohol or doing drugs. 

28. If your character became a celebrity, what would they be famous for? Writing or Acting. 

29. What is one of the most courageous things your character has ever done for a loved one? Stood up for them and to them. Almost getting killed fighting a Demi Gorgon. 

30. When it comes to the arts (music, film, theater, etc), what does your character like? She prefers writing poetry,or essays. Reading Fashion Magazines in public and Romance or Teen Drama Books in Private. Mandy’s Favorite Book and Movie is Valley of The Dolls. Later on her favorite Movie becomes Heathers. She loves Hair Metal Bands like Poison,Ratt and Bon Jovi also Jerry Lee Lewis (because he’s Steve’s favorite) If she hadn’t met Billy, Mandy would have seriously become a Groupie. 

31. Would your character be the kind capable of killing? Would they enjoy killing or only use it when necessary or, perhaps, refuse to kill no matter what? Not unless they’re Monsters. 

32. If your character’s lover offered to take them out on a dream date, what would they want to do? Steve would probably take her to the Movies and then Ice Cream after,maybe The Fair if it were in town,winning her a stuffed animal,they would then go back to his place and go Skinny Dipping in the pool. 

Billy would take her driving in his Comero they would take a road trip to California,stopping to have Sex in the back seat on the way over,They would hang out on the Beach and Billy would teach her how to Surf,they would make love on the sand and then spend the night in a Hotel eating take out,drinking and maybe Partying the next day.  

33. If your character wanted to be alone, where would they go? Her Room with The Door locked. Or The Library,no one would think to look for her there.

34. Does your character have favorite foods? (breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, snacks, etc) Waffles!

35. Is your character afraid of death? If they got to choose how to die, how would they want to go? Not so much anymore,Mandy’s pretty Fearless but she always thought she’d die at the hands of a loved one. 

36. Does your character have any medical conditions? Are they serious or minor? Do they affect their day to day life? Not really. Though Depression and possibly Bi Polar? yeah. 

37. What are some of your character’s pet peeves? What are some things that annoy them or disgust them? Billy flirting with older Women,Steve acting cool to keep up appearances. 

38. What kind of weather does your character like? Cloudy skies, rainy days, sunshine, etc? Rain or Sunshine doesn’t matter much to her. But she hates Snow. 

39. When people look at your character, is there some assumption they might make about them just by appearance? Is that assumption correct? A Bitch,A Snob,Slut,Lost Cause,Burn Out,Nerd. (When younger) all of which Billy would kick the shit out off A person for calling her. 

40. Does your OC have any guilty pleasures they enjoy? Hobbies, past times, music, etc that they wouldn’t want known by others? Reading actual Books lol Mandy also wants to appear tougher on the outside then she actually is on the inside. Also doesn’t want anyone in California knowing about her past in Hawkins.

41. Does your character’s family affect your character in any way? Um No Duh,When you live with Assholes and your real parents were mostly absent off working....you tend to develop an Independence and thick skin at an early age. 

42. Is there anything in your character’s past that they regret, haunts them, or they wish they could change? Billy finding out about her and Steve. Not being able to save Billy.

43. Does your character have a switch that changes aspects of their personality whether they are around friends, family, etc. Is there someone who gets to see their true self? At times. Mandy is definitely more ON in front of the more popular kids in Cali and wants to appear more carefree and wild while in Hawkins. Only Billy,Max and later on Steve get to see her with her guard down. 

44. Is there a particular event that would emotionally devastate your character? Already happened. 

45. Is your character the kind to hide their true emotions or do they wear their heart on their sleeve? Both. 

46. What is some random affectionate thing that your character always does to their lover? Mandy likes playing with both Billy and Steve’s hair while sitting on there laps. 

47. Is your character outgoing? Would they be the leader of the friend group, or the quiet one that gets dragged along? Depends on the group but she’s definitely come out of her shell more now. 

48. Is there anything in particular that would ignite your character’s jealousy? Or does your character not get envious? um BILLY,we’ve already went over the fact that they Flirt to make each other Jealous. Mandy also dislikes Nancy because of the way she Broke up with Steve. 

49. What is something that your character has nightmares about? Are these frequent? Do they heavily affect your character’s mood? Mandy used to have Nightmares about her and Billy fighting,especially after he found out about her and Steve. Also had Nightmares about The Mind Flayres when Billy was possessed by one.

50. If your character confessed love to their crush, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc, what would they say?

I took this as how The Crush would react so,I’ll start with Billy. Mandy would have waited for Billy to tell her he loved her,in fear of being rejected,once he did,in that same cocky tone,but softer and in private,she would smile in contentment and tell him she loved him back.

With Steve it took awhile for her to tell him she loved him back,mainly because of Billy finding out,once she finally admitted her feelings though Steve would definitely be relieved and over joyed,he would probably pick her up and kiss her.

I love My Hero Academia, there a lot of reason for it (and I’ll post some of them as the series goes on) but right now, the biggest one, is just the pure joy of watch and wait for the chapters of a shonen action series. It’s a simple reason (Although not the only one and, again, I want to talk about them in the future) but a goddamn powerful one, the actual experience of watch a shonen series, the sense of discovery, the excitement of wait for new episodes, is a rare feeling (Because I don’t read manga…and the ones that I read don’t give that experience because HxH is to darker (And it’s in hiatus) and Gintama is…well Gintama it play by its own set of rules) that I got to experience very little, in fact the only ones that come to my mind right now were Jojo’s (Because Jojo’s) and Kekkai Sensen…But regardless of everything, the main point here is that I love Hero Aca…and it’s new comer, the greedy, manipulative, totally selfish, charming, adorable, passionate, indisputable best girl of the season, the pink-haired tech genius Hatsume Mei.

So Mei it’s fantastic, but the question remains, why is she so fucking great? And why this type of character appeal so much to me? (We’ll go deep into my psyche so…)

I’ve always loved stories, in any of its forms, narrative in general.

I was big into movies during my teenage years (And I’m still into them just not as much) but once I entered college, six or seven years ago, (And yes, I’m still in college because I drop my first career for mmmm, how put it?…Crippling depression? Yeah that works) I also start to watch anime far more diligently that ever before…this is also the time that I started to write my thoughts and opinions about what I watched (Which are mostly in Spanish for the record)…and I began to take some perspective about what look for, not just in anime, but in narrative in general.

I don’t wanna say that you need to write in order to have clear mind about your likes and dislikes, but it really shows a new perspective that just the mere thought or even the discussion process can’t reach, the actual materialization of what you think and the process needed to reach that point.

Introspection, interpretation, analysis, etc. etc.

In a short time, write even the littlest thought became a part of my watching anime experience with the added of concrete feedback of all my opinions. A lot of my thoughts, likes and dislikes, were define trough that process …and the moment when all the piece falls down, the genesis of the realization of my love of the pure selfish of a characters was, ironically, with the creator herself Haruhi.

I knew the series before sitting down and watched it, in all its famous and infamous glory, so I’ve not real idea of what except, I mean I knew that I would get some fun of it (Cause Ace Attorney parody) but how much? And it would be worth it?…So I saw it, the two season and Disappearance, and I liked it, a lot actually. I mean it wasn’t a masterpiece but still, it was great.

I love the first season, as a setup for The Disappearance the second season is fucking brilliant (watch it not so much, although that was the whole point) and I thought that Disappearance was a really heartfelt close for the all series (despite the ongoing light novels)…my original review was mostly about the pure madness of the first season, how good Disappearance was as a closure and “Holy shit, Kyon is voiced by Sugita”

The original post was made in a Spanish community on google+ (It’s an even longer story and you certainly don’t want to hear it) and sooner than later the question finally pop out in the comments.

Translate it from the Spanish…it goes something like this.

“Yeah, I know…and it was awesome.”

I want to have a good time, I don’t care about what you think about me, I would use all of you to satisfice my selfish desires of live and excited an abnormal life…I have this big, deep passion to make this awesome looking and incredible gadgets, I have the desire to improve in my work for the pure joy of self-improvement, I want to be acknowledge by the world, to scream to all of you out there “I’m here, this is my work, I’m the best”…and I want to live do this thing that I love.

I believe that we’re capable of selfless acts (I’m not that cynic…yet) however I’ve, may be not a problem but definitely an issue, with characters motivated by pure altruistic goals (Which doesn’t mean that they can’t be great characters with this description, Vash, Kotetsu and Saber are some of my favorite characters and all of them are huge selfless dorks…but in that case a lot the “Greats” of their characters comes from how their respective shows plays with those aspects. Vash is the nicest guy that you can come around and self-proclaimed hunter of Love and Peace which lives by the philosophy of never taking a live, however he has his amount of carnal desire, flaws and all the shit that happens post the introduction of Legato who pushes him and his ideology to their extremes. Kotetsu, in the other hand, it’s kind of similar to Deku and Almight, from the setting to their themes and, of course, a selfless hero who genuinely want to make his world a better place, however he has a lot more going on that just his superhero persona, he’s a widower, a single father with all the issue that it entails, he’s disappointed because he’s not as popular with the their audience as he would want (he’s also the greatest DILF in the anime world and yes that is a crucial part of his characters) etc, And even Saber, the character that embraces this very ideal, a King that dies for those which for her ideals and the ones that are under her command, is characterized as this stubborn girl that loves to eat, that is heavily competitive, that enjoys a good and honorable duel and the general mundane marvels of the modern world, which arc concludes (at least in my own interpretation of her arc) with her coming in to peace with both sides of her and finally able to moving forward. All three are nice, good and selfless, nevertheless they still have these edges that gives them so much more, flaws, desires, wishes, contradictions, they are still great heroes but these elements help to humanize them and gave to their arcs a lot more weight and meaning that they would have if those traits were removed…and fortunately HeroAca has something of this too, Todoroki has an interesting conflict going on with his father (His father alone and his brief interaction with Almight was interesting point that I want to explore in a future arc) I’m hyped to see the resolution for that, Ochako, Bakugo…and even Deku (As it showed in his fight against Bakugo and his genuine passion about heroes) again I love HeroAca), a certain disconnection, again, I think that we’re capable of selfless acts, nevertheless make a paragon that exist you to be that “Perfect Jesus-kun 2.0” really turns me off because it lacks one of the most important trait to any character, the human element.

All of this can be traced back to the subject of see the “Flaws” as an element of humanization, and I agree with that statement, for me the best characters are the ones that contradicts themselves, the ones that make mistakes and the ones that are riddled with faults, however make flawed hero that is still human is different of make a selfish character that is likable and relatable because his or her own selfish motives…Enter Hatsume Mei.

Her deep passion for her work is something that most of people can relate to, specially here, with people writing or drawing (Or whatever you do here in Tumblr) just for the fun of do it, nevertheless a lot of us are also here to improve in our fields (Fuck the reason that I’m here is because I want to improve my English) same as Mei, always self-critical, always searching for improves and in the end, she want to be acknowledge for the work as the best, and of course, I think that all of us are melted on joy every time that someone likes or reblog one of our post.

Passion, the wish of self-improvement, the quest for recognition.

They’re just very human emotions, feelings that almost everyone can relate on some level and that is the charm of Mei and what makes her so endearing as character (And of course, having an awesome design, a funny and eccentric personality and a nice sense of humor obviously helps, after all, are all those trait that make great character)

So Mei is best girl, she is amazing; I want to see her more in the future…but is she in my god-tier of characters?

No, sadly. She is great and I really enjoy her character but we are still talking about a minor figure that has a limited time of screen-time and hasn’t been allowed to explore her character far of her original characterization. I think that she has potential and I’ll love to see her in a more important role in the future or having an arc centered of her because, again, I really believe that she could become an amazing character of your own…

However even if that’s not the case, she is still a funny, charismatic and relatable character that just do what she loves to do, and something that’s the only thing that you need…
