I loveeee this ending. Visually, it is definitely my favourite ending. Twinkles and sparkles seem to be a theme this half of the season and I like it! It’s veryy New Year’s Eve and all the lights and colours feel like fireworks, it’s beautiful :) 

I don’t have a ranking yet for the endings but I can tell you that the first place is either the 2001 ending or the Season 1 Ending 1 (there’s something about seeing a group of people sleep in one environment that feels eerie and yet peaceful, I dunno). Maybe next time, I’ll figure out a list.

This was a great intro episode for the season! I had fun! I do wonder if the coronavirus will somewhat delay the simuldubs on Funimation/CrunchyRoll... I know they’ve got these first three episodes covered, for sure. But, I hope the rest of the season’s dubs will be able to be released on time. I have no problem watching the sub but I just really love the english dub too.

robert going all “just give her time” like he doesn’t understand what’s happening here at all. he clearly plays the “good cop” in the lightwood’s abusive dynamic tbh, like people often brush him off as being just spineless but i honestly think that he’s just the other side of her manipulative coin. specially with izzy, like, when izzy said fuck it and completely let go of maryse’s hold on her? that’s where robert came in, being the accepting, “nice” parent who listened to her and cared, and making sure she’d keep her loyalties. because he didn’t really stand up for izzy either and in the end he kept her still glued to the lightwood family through that, and kept defending maryse and izzy listened to him because he was robert. and i think that’s what’s happening here too, him trying to frame this as “don’t worry, she’ll come around” because he knows right then that alec is absolutely going to turn their back on them if that’s what it takes for her to be happy so he immediately slides in and reframes this under an affection light where everything will be alright! even if honestly i don’t think that’s what alec is really thinking about at all, i think he was 100% ready for a showdown

I do think it’s reasonable to assume being thrown around by Zhan Tiri, the suit, the stone being ripped from her, her generally seeming rly pale, etc. added up so that the blast finished her, but the way it was done was still kind of random. Just give me a shot of her being blown back harder or something, it’s not that HARD TO MAKE THIS NOT SEEM SUPER RANDOM.

I lowkey expected Rap’s hair to turn turquoise when she activated it again. I realize now that’d be kind of dumb considering the moonstone activated her hair in the first place, but I just don’t get why the moonstone brought her blonde hair back. I mean now the sundrop power isn’t in her anymore as it was at the end of the movie / beginning of the pilot. I assumed it was just reawakened but now there’s nothing to reawaken, it just gives her power by itself SO I THOUGHT IT HAD TO BE TURQUOISE

Now I get my happy story in which Dean wasn’t stupid. (No, I wasn’t thinking about the fact that Sam might have died.)

Summary: Despite Zeke’s threats, Dean doesn’t tell Cas to leave the bunker. He revels in their burgeoning relationship, content to end his day with Cas asleep on his shoulder, even if they’ll always sleep in separate rooms. Cas is it for him. But when Cas begins to experience physical urges he can’t control, he asks Dean for a hand—metaphorically, and later, literally.

Summary: In 2009, a man who claims to speak to God gives the not-quite-an-angel-anymore Castiel his Polaroid camera. “Use it wisely,” he warns. “Cameras are a strange sort of magic. They hold on to the energy of the moments they capture and keep it alive past its time. That’s why we should only take photographs of our happiest moments. There’s no sense prolonging our pain or sadness, but love and joy are worth saving.”

During the next five years, Castiel superstitiously takes nine photographs of his happiest moments. When a second Dean arrives from the past, Castiel knows he’s been sent to witness something catastrophic, something so terrible Zachariah believes it will scare Dean into accepting his destiny. He senses the end is near, but Castiel can’t quite bring himself to take the final photograph. Dean does it for him.
