cheeks flush in embarrassment when his father laughs, though he knows it isn't in cruelty. still, it embarrasses him, his ears turning a light shade of red as well. "the force pull and the force push," he repeats those words, tasting them on his tongue. he intends to get it right, for both his and his father's sake. he wants to make him proud and he intends to do just that, even if it may take him a while to get there. the intent was there and that was all he really needed, he knew; his father would be proud of him for even trying.

he looks up at his dad as he crouches next to him and frowns, eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he listens to what he says. "no, i guess not." he was too excited to do it, he thinks, maybe if he calmed down he would be able to focus better. he takes a large calming breath just like how his father had taught him and exhales slowly after he counts to five.

he watches as his father grabs the spheres, head tilting slightly in curiosity. he resembles some sort of animal in that instance, adorably so. he takes the sphere into his hands, holding it like his father had told him. he closes his eyes and concentrates as hard as he can, trying to connect with the ball like he'd been told to. when he opens his eyes, his frown has deepened. "i'm confused, father," he says, gripping the ball harder as he tries to understand what his father is saying. "how do i do it ? how do i connect with the ball ? my hand - it feels . . . i don't know," he's clearly stumped, bottom lip jutting out into a pout. he looks at his father for answers as he loosens his grip on the ball and tries to do as he's told, allowing himself to think about the way it feels, but he simply can't seem to understand what his father means by that. for a moment, he thinks that maybe he's just too young to understand the meaning behind it, but he squashes that thought immediately. no, he will learn the force pull and push; he will make his father proud. "can you show me?"

"The Force thing?" he asked with a laugh. It only highlighted how informal Luke's training was. "The Force Pull is to bring it close, Force Push to push it away." Obi-Wan would be pleased to know he was teaching his son the proper vocabulary at least.

He crouched beside his son and rested his hand on his back. It was cute to see him mimic the movements, but the physicality was the least important aspect. "Right now, you're not focusing, are you?" he asked, gentle. "You're thinking of the goal instead of the process."

He pulled away from his son quickly, taking two small metal spheres he used to test droid's grip from a drawer. They were light and small, making it the perfect, easy object to use. "Let's try something first." He held one out for his son to take, letting his other hand hold it up to demonstrate. "Just... Feel it. Connect with it."

He didn't raise it from his hand yet, but not doing so was hard. To Anakin, it was second nature. He always used the Force more casually than he should. "And try to notice how it feels in your hand... Not the ball, but how your hand feels."

I need chris to have a Rory Gilmore arc. What I mean by that is, I want him to realise that his grandparents are totally using his fued with his father to have a 'redo' of raising a son, the way they couldn't have with Eddie. I need him to get super frustrated and call Eddie or even Buck to come rescue him.

she's pretty, is the first thought that comes to Obi's mind. and it's true, Beverly is a very beautiful woman, even at seven years old Obi understands that. he likes her hair and immediately he wants to touch it, brush it with a comb like he does with his mom's sometimes. he doesn't ask her though---he's too shy yet. he smiles brightly when she agrees to hang out with him, bouncing on the balls of his feet in excitement. "yay! i can show you all my drawings! daddy bought me a book for all of them! it's big! i like drawing!" he's usually not this excited, but new people are exciting, he can't help it. he holds out his hand for her to take. "i'll take you to him and you can see he hasn't burned down the house yet---" "hey! i heard that!" Obi giggles.

The trip over to Bill's place hadn't been hard. It wasn't that far from the hotel. She wasn't about to put them out by staying at their place. It was different now, here with them. She wasn't sure how much he had told their family about her or how much they knew about their past. The monster that plagued their mind, the vow they all had made and what they had lost. But she was happy to see Bill and his growing family. Standing there looking down at Obi she nodded. "I'd love to hang out with you. I'm sure your father is busy and has it all under control." She gave him a small giggled. "Do you want to check on him before we go hang out? Just to make sure he doesn't need anything?"
