They gave a name to Cousin Itt, they went there and gave a name to Cousin Itt. I have excused several things in this series, but I cannot excuse this. This is a crime, a sacrilege, somebody has to pay, somebody has to suffer.

Watching 1986's Children of the Corn cause it's actually my third all time favourite Stephen King film and it's been a rough couple of nights, I work in childcare with children who come from many backgrounds and face many challenges. So after long hours of dealing with crisis and hard revelations (also sometimes being bullied, nothing bad, some of them have a hard time expressing themselves and aggressive, loud and/or expolivsive might be the only way they know how they could be heard). It's different for every individual case, but it can be very hard. I have a HUGE soft spot for children and it can be emotional and tearing sometimes, so as comfort, strangely enough I love to watch Children of the Corn. I am absolutely devoted to horror and Children of the Corn was always one of the films that freaked me out the most when I first seen it, now I am always looking back at how great it is and so relevant and dare say, realistic in a case? Like not saying that there a corn cult do in my profession we take kids who may deal with traumas, mental disorders, etc. in a prepare them for life basically)
Though I do wanna say one thing
It is a little depressing that the town of Gatlin BIGGEST problem was the fact they couldn't grow corn and not the fact that the weird well dressed kid who was preaching all time about some spirit speaking to him through his dreams, and seems to be a very persuading person.
Tumblr media
That's all it takes though to start a cult

The Origin of the Addams Family
Tumblr media
The Addams family has always been goth and enamored with the macabre. But did you know they didn’t always have names?
They started as recurring characters in New Yorker cartoons by Charles Addams in 1938. They were a mother, father, uncle, grandmother, two children, and a butler in an eccentric family. (Occasionally others joined them. It's a big family.) They weren’t all officially named until the 60s, when dolls were released of Wednesday and Morticia, and the TV show debuted in 1964.
Charles Addams made a LOT of cartoons in his lifetime, about 1,300 total*. Only 58 of those in The New Yorker featured the Addams family, but they are what he became best known for. He also published some collections on his own, eventually creating 150 standalone, single-panel comics featuring the Addams family.
You’d expect Charles Addams to look like Gomez, but he didn’t. He actually looked like this:
Tumblr media
He based the father of his strange family on this guy:
Tumblr media
That’s Thomas E. Dewey, the 47th governor of New York from 1943 to 1954. He ran for president in 1940, 1944, 1948, and 1952. He had a reputation for honesty, but he was also kind of a weirdo. It was said that he had "a personality that attracted contempt and adulation in equal proportion." Maybe that’s why Charles Addams based a character on him. Or maybe it’s just because he was funny looking.
Addams, who signed his name Chas, was only somewhat involved with the TV show. The rights to it belonged to his second wife. He earned residuals from the show, which placed him in dire straits once the show was canceled after only two years. At that point, he had come to rely on the income, and The New Yorker wasn’t publishing him enough for him to live off of.
The show had more tropey, goofy plots than their later adventures, since it was a sitcom. Charles Addams criticized the show because the characters were only “half as evil” as they were in his comics. They had run-ins with neighbors and local politicians. Gomez ran for mayor of their small town. They recommended Cousin Itt for a job at the zoo and he was mistaken for an exotic animal. Wacky hi-jinks that never rose to the heights of pouring boiling oil on carolers, as the family did in a Christmas strip Charles drew, which was later sold as greeting cards.
Still, the show expanded upon the original comics and established much of what became canon for the Addams family and its members to this day. They have a dungeon in their mansion they like to relax in. The front gate has a mind of its own. No one can quite explain where their money comes from. They try to help others, even though their help is rarely received well. And they can't understand why other people don't live like they do.
In the next few weeks, I'll be posting character profiles of the various members of the Addams family throughout the years, from what I can find of their inception up through the Netflix show. I hope you will enjoy it.
*edited to clarify that his 1,300+ cartoons were drawn in his lifetime, not exclusively for The New Yorker.

Steddie Bigbang Weekly Round-up: November 5 - November 11
The Pizza Box Pact Author: 96tears/pizzaqueen / Artist: Cousin Itt / Artist: goingsteddi3 Eddie and Steve have been living together, working together, and raising their cat together for a few years, now, but they’re not together together. They’re friends—the best of—nothing more, and they’re happy.
At least, Eddie is, and he thought Steve was too. But then he finds a pact they made, one drunken night ten years ago, where they pledged to ‘marry’ each other if they were still single by the time they’re thirty, and everything changes.
Steve isn’t amused by the reappearance of the pledge, seems almost upset by it, and Eddie figures it’s because he’s going to be thirty soon and doesn’t have a girlfriend. So, he does what any best friend would do: promises to find Steve his perfect woman, setting him up on a series of unsuccessful blind dates.
But somewhere along the way, Eddie rediscovers feelings that he thought he’d put aside years ago. He just hopes he hasn’t discovered them too late.
Suitcase of Memories Author: sidekick-hero / AO3 / Author: legitcookie / AO3 / Artist: luna-fortunaa / Twitter / Instagram / Artist: maikaartwork / Twitter / Bluesky/ Instagram  In a bygone era, two men overcome all societal norms and find an instant, powerful connection that defies all odds. Their secret love blossoms in the shadows, forming an unbreakable bond. However, fate eventually intervenes, cruelly tearing them apart.
Fast forward to the present day, Steve awakens from a startling dream that feels surprisingly real, like he was really there. The memory of it haunts his every waking moment, making him question if he somehow recognizes the mysterious, curly-haired stranger playing his guitar at a street-corner, although they have never met before. Steve continues to cross paths with this enigmatic figure, Eddie, until they surrender to fate and their instant attraction.
As their relationship deepens, Steve’s dreams become increasingly vivid, detailed, and intense, leaving him with an uncanny sense of familiarity. They also strangely reflect the growing romance and struggles of his newfound relationship. Is it all just a coincidence, or is there a deeper connection that defies the boundaries of time and fate?
I’m Shy & Shameless (Nocturnal & Nameless) Author: theeblackplague / TikTok / Artist: @kaspurrcat / Twitter / Instagram / Artist: Marie.melancia / Instagram Bodies are washing up in the Chicago River and the newspapers say there’s a serial killer on the loose. Steve Harrington is new in town and in his dump of an apartment, he’s found a box of tapes under the floorboards. They appear to be the video diary of the previous tenant, some guy named Eddie Munson.
Paint the Devil on the Wall Author: @museumgiftshoperaser / Artist: @melonalemonade & @dreaminginpencil If Eddie had known that sharing his New York City art studio with Robin would include her buddy Steve, he never would’ve offered it in the first place. There. He said it. If that makes him a bad friend, so be it.
Because Steve is around all the time. Pastel and prissy. Sculpted from marble, yet dressed like a Macy’s mannequin. Always hovering.
They got Robin’s potters wheel up the stairs last week, a three man effort he can still feel in his lower back, and now she’s fucking teaching him. Full on, arms wrapped around his waist, hands guiding hands. Someone grab him a bucket, ‘cause Eddie’s about to throw up.
He’s not even good at it. Steve can barely get the hump of clay centered on the wheel and he refuses to get stains on his clothes. It’s fucking clay. It comes out in the wash. Steve’s shirtless approach to pottery is borderline offensive to the arts.
The Eddie Munson Hallucination Crisis Author: @feryerhealth / @FerYerHealth (ao3) / Artist: @protosstar / @protosstar (twitter) Eddie was concerned, but not 100% sure that he died. He had to be dead if he got stuck in the Upsidedown. Except. Sometimes he got out. Sometimes he flickered about topside and enjoyed his new favorite hobby: Haunting Steve Harrington.
Steve was concerned that he lost his mind. He kept hearing things. Seeing things. Smelling things. And by “things” of course, he meant Eddie Munson. It’s enough to drive him up a wall. Or at least out of the closet. With help from Robin, of course.
The Party was concerned. Steve’s behavior of late, was… weird. He started talking to himself. Max saw him breaking into Eddie’s trailer in the middle of the night. Lucas noticed some pretty questionable hickeys when they played basketball. How could he be hooking up with someone when Steve never left the house? One thing became clear: it was time for an intervention.
all of me changed like midnight. Author: @antithetical-dream-girl / Artist: @hellfiredemon / Artist: @steves-strapcollection In the fall of 1986, Eddie invites Steve and Robin to one of his shows at the Hideout. Steve is mesmerized by Eddie’s performance, captivated by the way Eddie’s hands move up and down his guitar, by the way Eddie’s measured breaths that deliver a strong and confident lyrical performance. When Steve compliments him after the show, Eddie offers to teach Steve to play the guitar. Steve is completely taken by the whole project and a romance blooms, tender and soft, as they begin to speak through the music they play for each other.
Shortly after Steve confesses his love for Eddie, Eddie flees Hawkins, determined to live out his dreams as a rockstar and convinced that’s not what Steve wants for himself. Steve and Robin move to Indy, where they begin playing open mics at the coffeeshop Steve works at. Steve finds that songwriting is the perfect way to give voice to his feelings of grief, love, and abandonment.
The fic spans ten years as Eddie and Steve weave their way in and out of each other’s lives, writing songs that can only be meant for each other.
Damocles Author: @wingedquill / Artist: @calxeria / Artist: @yelenaboiko Ever since Eddie was a kid, he’s known that he would die at nineteen. He never really came up with a plan for how to spend his last year. But if he’d had to guess, it would have involved spending lots of time with Wayne, and his band, and the Hellfire Club.He certainly couldn’t predict that he’d fall in love with Steve Harrington over a summer of early morning swims and smashing shit in the junkyard. Or the whole monster fighting thing.(Or: Eddie and Steve navigate a little-to-the-left world where technology exists to predict the age a person will be when they die. Don’t worry, no one stays dead.)
‘Cause I’m still seeing colours that are red (If I close my chest and let it take me) Author: @callmenewbie / callme_newbie / Artist: @inflomora-art/ inflomora_art / Artist: @acidicbarkbeast They were almost at the trailer park when Eddie finally broke the silence. “You know for a second there, I thought I wasn’t gonna make it.” He said, still looking out the window, voice low and even, like he wasn’t even speaking to Steve, just airing thoughts out into the heavy space of the car. “What?” Steve peeked at him from the side, while still keeping his eyes on the road that was shimmering in the night; millions of tiny drops illuminated by the streetlights and the moon, distorting his vision. “That’s what you think about, right? When it rains.” He clarified. Or Ever since they came back from the Upside Down, Steve has been struggling on rainy days, but Eddie’s there to provide support and a maybe even a little more than that.
Mistakes Were Made; We’re Ending Retrograde Author: @salamandergoo / SalamanderGoo / Artist: @pink-luna-moth / @pinklunamoth In November of 1983, Steve is forced to confront a few realities. One being that monsters are real. They steal people from their homes and from pools and come out of ceilings. The other reality being that he’s an asshole. And well, he can only change one of those, so it’s time to ditch the friends that make him the worst version of himself and find some new ones.
After a mishap at school, freshman Gareth Emerson ushers Steve into a world he’d only been partially aware of, full of fantasy and laughter. He’s unsure about senior Eddie Munson, who doesn’t seem to believe he’s changed. He hopes to change his mind and avoid more monsters, and maybe along the way he’ll learn to love himself too.
Ready to Grow Young Again Author: @bonitabreezy / Artist: @thidwickdoodles / Artist: @sailing-through-hawkins  As a baby, Steve Harrington is gifted a ragdoll. Were he to ask, no one would remember who exactly gifted it, but Steve doesn’t ask. Eddie is his best friend, his partner in crime. Eddie is always there for him. As Steve grows older, Eddie becomes more than just a doll to him. He’s a personality, a force of nature. He lets Steve cry on his shoulder and protects him from nightmares.
No one else seems to notice that Eddie can speak and move and grow larger in a way a doll shouldn’t.
But why would that matter? Everyone has an imaginary friend.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY (II)
Tumblr media
The inside of the Addams residence was truly a scenery of a horror movie, if Matthew was there, he would certainly made jokes about murder and would be definitely afraid when she wouldn’t deny it. Morpheus always thought Y/N would make a wonderful queen for the Dreaming and him, but right now he was surer of it than ever, especially at being the Queen of Nightmares.
- Our house is as old as the Addams family itself, it passed to generation after generation. It belongs now to my uncle Festus and my father, Gomez. We all live here together, well I don’t anymore but the rest do. Now aside them there are also my mother, Morticia, my siblings Wednesday, Pugsley and Pubert, grandmama, Lurch and… - a hand came running down the hall and threw itself at her legs. Y/N stooped to its height. – Thing, oh I am deeply sorry for taking so long. We have a new guest for the wedding, please do inform Lurch of it, we do not want another incident like the last one. – after endless years nothing should surprise him anymore and yet seeing his beloved talking to a very alive hand was strange to Morpheus, especially because both appeared to understand each other well. – Yes, he is indeed very handsome, and I would like to keep him this way, so if you could please check if Wednesday took my crossbow, it would be very much appreciated. – after he responded to her, something that only she could understand, Thing went upstairs.
- What is that thing? – Dream asked her while looking at where it went.
- That’s Thing, he’s also family. – after seeing his face, she grinned. – For someone who’s lived an endless life you surely look surprised.
- It looked like it was talking to you.
- Thing was talking to me, we all understand him. Is his language too difficult for you? Also, please, do not call Thing “it”, we actually have a cousin named Itt and it would be very confusing. – reaching the backyard, he noticed that the outside wasn’t different from the inside. – There they are, come with me, my dream. – Y/N pulled him by the arm towards her parents.
- Y/N, dear, we were looking for you. The wedding is about to start, and your uncle would be very upset if you weren’t here. – her mother said and then looked at the man at her daughter’s side. – And who might that be?
- This is Morpheus.
- Oh, the Morpheus. I see.
- I brag about you every chance I got. It is not every day you found someone who’s equally devoted to their beloved as you, my dream. – Y/N said after realizing he was surprised that she talked about him to them, Morpheus expected them to know only of his existence and nothing more.
- Our daughter has high standards, so if she is allowing you to meet us it is because you are special. – Gomez said, most fathers would be jealous of their daughter dating someone, but he just wanted his little nightmare to be happy.
- You both set the bar too far, I would not accept nothing less than what I saw you two have my whole life. – no matter how odd they were, no one could say that Morticia and Gomez weren’t deeply in love. Y/N poked Morpheus side to bring his attention to her, motioning to the bouquet of stems still at his hand.
- These are for you, Miss Addams.
- Oh, how thoughtful of you. – one of the thorns pricked her finger, but the only person slightly worried about it was Dream. – Please, call me Morticia. We are family, after all. – excusing herself to put the bouquet at some vase she left being followed right behind by her husband.
- Now you’ve already met my parents and Thing. Oh, there is Lurch, he seems busy so we can talk later. – he saw her wave at someone, or something, that looked like the Frankenstein monster. – Let’s search for Wednesday, she’s probably with Pugsley trying to get rid of Pubert.
- Is that not your youngest brother?
- Yes, there was this old tradition, or so grandmama say, that when a new child comes to the family, they must get rid of one of the oldest. When Wednesday was born, I left her at the doghouse for a full day…and the funniest part is that we never had a dog. Mother talked to me, of course, and made me see reason. She will probably do the same with them.
- You are a very peculiar family. – he closed the little space between them and putted his arms around her. – Against all odds that only makes me love you more. I must admit that I was nervous about meeting your family and Matthew although with good intentions did not help with it.
- I, too, was nervous about the day you would meet them. As I told you before, you are the first that I bring home and even knowing they would love you as I do, it still got me nervous. We are indeed a peculiar family, and most people don’t like us. – Y/N remember all the times other kids would be mean to her but being the way she is since forever it didn’t matter, and she never cared for them, but she knew that it wasn’t that easy for Pugsley. Y/N and Wednesday were tough and too cold to care about what others thought of them, but they would defend their family until the end and no matter the means to the end. – It is important for me that they like you.
- It is a relief that they do not dislike me then.
- Oh, my dream, let’s not celebrate before you meet my sister. Now she will be hard to impress, Wednesday's at that very special age when a girl has only one thing on her mind.
- Boys? – the question didn’t come from Morpheus, but an unknow woman to her that didn’t seem to fit at the place, probably some outsider.
- Homicide. - Y/N smiled wickedly at the stranger before she left. – Let’s sit down, the ceremony is about to start. – and indeed, it did. It was like the bride couldn’t wait to get out of there, and while her parents told her that Debby absolutely loved the family, especially her uncle Festus, she couldn’t help but think that something was wrong. She was too perfect, she came at the exactly right time and always knew what to say. Festus was an Addams, but much like her father he was very naïve about other people. Debby was lucky and got her wish, but only because of Wednesday. Just like Y/N, her sister knew something was wrong and was determined to prove it but could only do so if they remained there. Wednesday Addams gladly stole her sister’s crossbow with the intention of only hurting the bride a little bit…or at least make it look like it and after extracting the information she needed then Debby could rot in any way she deemed better, and no one would know it. She had a good plan and a lot of determination, but unfortunately her aim wasn’t at her side and instead of Debby it hit Y/N’s thigh. In a second Dream’s arms were around Y/N’s body making sure she wouldn’t pass out because of the blood loss, the bride was a mix of furious knowing it was meant for her and happy to use this as an excuse to leave that family and never come back. No one looked shocked at the situation.
- Oh, Wednesday. – Y/N turned to face her sister with a very disapproving look. – How many times shall I tell you to not fire the crossbow inside the house?

Transmasc Wednesday Coming Out Headcanons
Wednesday was 16 when he first figured it out. It was just after the battle with the pilgrim and she was with Enid in the same bed.
She only figured it out once Enid was teaching him how to use google and asked if Wednesday had any questions, to which he asked 'How to know if you are transgender?'
Enid was shocked before she smiled and searched it, letting him look all over the web before he nodded.
'I want to be a boy' Wednesday would say. 'No name change however, just pronouns and body'.
Enid would then measure Wednesday's chest and order a binder for Wednesday with her own money
When school broke out, he hugged Enid hard and thanked her for getting him a binder and also confidence to come out to his parents.
It took 2 weeks before Wednesday came out. Everyone was at the dinner table. Gomez, Morticia, Grandmama, Fester, Debbie, Pugsley and Pubert. Cousin Itt was also there with Margaret.
'Everyone, I have an announcement. I am a boy, I want to be called Wednesday still but have he/him pronouns used'. Wednesday was acting calm but it was clear he was nervous
That's when everyone would get up and hug him, thanking him for letting them know. That's when they would have a celebration for the coming out, but would treat Wednesday normally still.
Wednesday would tell Enid how it went and how he was feeling at home now, and how grandmama was using a potion to help him switch genders, she was sure there was one after all.

TEA SET PLACED BETWEEN THEM; the finest china the family owned, filled with – Earl Grey. She had asked for it, not belladonna or foxglove, but this. Only had it in the house because Cousin Itt and his wife had been visiting not too long ago and Margaret seemed to prefer this too. And Addams were known for their hospitality – a tradition going back decades and generations. Couldn’t ruin their good name by not offering the stranger a hot drink of their choice. Especially after the mess the children had made.
Tumblr media
“ – I’m afraid I haven’t even asked your name yet.” The spell book Pugsley and Wednesday must have grabbed from Mama’s private bookshelf was placed on the table as well; one page marked – one page he had glimpsed at when he had picked it up from the chalk circle the children had drawn in the adjacent parlor. Not a demon they had wanted to summon. A goddess of death and destruction. Oh, this had to be Wednesday’s idea; always had so wonderfully creative and complex ideas. Clever child. Effigy of her mother. | @ventureheart LIKED.

My WednesdayGAY Predictions / Things (..) I Want To See
(enid)joy
Tumblr media
I'm going insane but im 75% (more like 30%) sure that the fire in Wednesday's eyes reads "Fire Walker" referring to the mayor of the town in which Nevermore is located, and the investigation is taking place. (My friend added William/Willow as a possible name, maybe theyre burning wednesday ...)
I would like to place a bet he has some sort of connection to the killer. Also the killer was a former student at Nevermore. Maybe expelled for some reason, though that goes against the school moto, the killer is a nightmare.
tyler is not a "normie" normie. he's gotta have like powers or is related to the killer (maybe he is the killer)
the killer has got to be a werewolf/lycan/shapeshifter of sorts
xavier is gonna get scratched, he literally does in the trailer. hes an almost victim i GUARANTEE you.
the killer possibly went to nevermore with Tish and Gomez?
Wenclair canon
cousin itt (he's >>>)
the whole family
i would absolutely burst out laughing if there is a joel reference.
Just for giggles Joel WhatsHisFace is the killer. (Pictured below)
Tumblr media
Wenclair is one-sided (id die)
There is a Taylor Swift song somewhere in the whole show. At least a Taylor reference.
ok nothing else

More stuff for the Character Art Challenge on ComicFury. Prompts and whatnot follow.
Car Wash - I didn't want to draw a car but drew my robot Perverto trying to get washed. JJ and Xen (pink hair and green/black hair) are unhappy about this and will likely do violence upon him. Dior (red girl) is from a world which does not have hoses so she's distracted.
Cosplay - Subject M and Xen are cosplaying Godzilla and King Kong though Xen is far less into it. Subject M's jewel/crown thing can be used to fire beams so he's rigged it up for accuracy.
JJ has convinced her brother Ollie to do an Addams Family thing, with Ollie as Pugsley and herself as Wednesday. Hankbert is, of course, Cousin Itt.
Wizard of Oz - My persona, Lord Myk, has taken the role of the Wicked Witch of the West. Dior is Dorothy, Hankbert is Toto, and Perverto is the Cowardly Lion. Subject M is the Tin Man because several years ago there was a Crossover Exchange where characters were putting on a stage production of the Wizard of Oz and he was given that role. The Scarecrow is a new character whose name i haven't decided upon yet. I also put these up on my Art Dump through which you can find the comics most of these characters are a part of. The hooded one hasn't shown up in anything yet.

"Wednesday had to admit, you did well. Meeting everyone, remembering names, remembering to compliment them as only an Addams would. Surprisingly, you got along well with cousin Itt and Margaret. Well, more so Margaret, she was an Addams by, marriage instead of blood, much like yo-
Damn, Wednesday! Planning the wedding to Birdy already. She better let Thing be the Flower Girl!
Wednesday Friday "Simp" Addams, she can deny her feelings but she can't deny her DNA. Thing would be the best Flower Girl, it's what he deserves 👋💐

have some ideas for cousin itt
1. his backstory is sort of like bigfoot. the family has reported sightings and whatnot but he's mostly a reclusive dude who owns a little plant shop.
2. a short shaggy haired guy who, like the other addams, went to nevermore.
3. with all that transpired, he recieved an email from thing saying the family was in trouble.
4. he shows up at the school and is offered a job as groundskeeper and security by happenstance. literally just showed up looking for his family and gets offered a job. when asked for his resume the only thing it says are the references and its thing and grandmama.
5. he got his name from wednesday because she had trouble pronouncing his name and the only part of it she could say was itt. and it stuck to the point where everyone basically forgot his full name.
6. his powers are called something like "the missing link" because he has various forms of connections like telepathically/empath/etc with other monsters and people with their various supernatural powers. super rare like the hyde. his most notable is basically being like a tracking dog with scary insticts
7. theres a running joke about his actual parents being bigfoots. he is related via gomez's half brother.
8. another running joke is that no one remembers him attending the school or never knows where he is because he's like bigfoot. looking through the yearbook you can see maybe 1 or 2 pics of him in the background. very blurry and barely able to make out that its him.
9. kind of a dumbass but super nice and chill.

Character Profile - Cousin Itt
Tumblr media
Cousin Itt was created for the 1960s TV show, so I don’t have a quote from Charles Addams saying what he should be like. He was fashioned after two drawings of a man completely covered in/made out of hair and wearing sunglasses:
Tumblr media
In his first TV appearance, he was a little person wearing a suit and gloves, who simply had a tremendous amount of hair. You could clearly see his legs, arms, and hands. Here he is performing a magic act for the family:
Tumblr media
That first costume was made using real human hair, but since everyone everywhere smoked all the time back in the 60s, the costume was later changed to synthetic hair to be less of a fire hazard. They also added more hair, glasses, and sometimes a hat. This became the iconic look of Cousin Itt.
Tumblr media
He was played by Felix Silla (above right), who at 3’11” tall was the perfect height to wear the costume. While he performed Itt’s actions, they did not use his voice. Itt’s signature meeping sounds were created by the show’s sound engineer, Tony Magro. His way of speaking was replicated in various ways in every later incarnation, even when he was voiced by a celebrity. In the 2019 and 2021 3D animated films, his voice was provided by Snoop Dogg, but it sounds like it was played backwards and the pitch was raised and possibly sped up. Despite his speech being indecipherable, the members of the Addams family can all understand Itt perfectly.
In the sitcom, Itt will ring the doorbell when he arrives at the house, but if they take too long to let him in, he’ll climb up the walls and enter the house through a window or the chimney. Itt doesn’t live in the house, but he has a guest room built to his dimensions. The others have to stoop to fit inside of it. It’s played for comedic effect, but it’s kind of wonderful that there’s at least one place where other people have to deal with everything being built for his size, rather than the other way around.
Tumblr media
The plots for Cousin Itt’s appearances in the sitcom centered around him finding a job or, at one point, losing his hair. In the 1991 film, he falls in love with Margaret Alford, the wife of Tully Alford, who was scamming the family. This sort of establishes Itt as a ladies’ man, which carries over into the 90s animated series and the 3D animated films. Though in the 1993 movie, he’s happily married to Margaret and they have a hairy little child together named What.
Tumblr media
Cousin Itt has not yet appeared in the Netflix show Wednesday, though an ancestor of his has. In the seventh episode, Fester, Thing, and Wednesday break into a safe behind a painting of Ignatius ”Iggy” Itt. The way that Fester refers to him makes it clear that this is not the Itt that they both know today, but a different, earlier relative. In addition to that, the dates under the painting are from 200 years ago, and we can assume that Cousin Itt is not over 200 years old. Though it is hard to tell with this family.

Will Cousin Itt make an appearance in Wednesday? It’s unlikely to happen in season 2 unless it’s a surprise. None of the guest stars listed are under four feet tall. There is the possibility that one of the new actors with an unnamed role could be the voice actor for Itt, and a little person would be hired to do the body work, but it’s far more likely that they would hire someone famous for the role.
We are already meeting Grandmama in season 2, and there will be some amount of plot happening in the Addams family mansion, so we can’t completely rule out the possibility of Itt making an appearance. However, they may also wait until a third season to introduce him, and hire someone like Warwick Davis to play him. Right now, only those involved in the show know for certain.

In your personal opinion, which adaption of the Addams Family is a good adaption?
Wednesday feels like it could be better but the chemistry between Gomez and Morticia is just not as iconic as the 1991 and 1993 movie version
I never got around to consuming the original material, in this case the comics, however, I believe I have read enough about Addams to give a not-so-dumb opinion. So, considering what they say about the original comics being much darker than the '64 series, I would say that the films are the adaptations that perhaps come closest to Charles Addams' original idea. Yet, it's always good to remember that the Addams only became the Addams when the original series was produced, as until then the family had no name, save for Morticia and Wednesday who needed to be named for the licensing of a line of dolls. Everything we know about the Addams, the family dynamic, the love Gomez has for Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Lurch, Thing and Itt, all started with the original series and not the comics. The comics introduced us to the Addams, but the original series shaped and named them. That being the case, I would say that the '64 series is the best adaptation, or at least my favourite, as it is responsible for the best marriage in human history.
Now, I'm not unfair and I know that most of the people out there loving the Addams Family grew up with the Sonnenfeld's films, me being one of them. The 1991 and 1993 films are wonderful and deserve all the love they get, Juilá and Huston were able to hold the weight of Astin and Jones' crown and they deserve to be recognised as Gomez and Morticia, because they are Gomez and Morticia.
About Guzmán and Zeta-Jones, I'll be very honest, I don't know much of Guzmán's work, obviously I've seen him around, but I can't tell you two movies he's done off the top of my head. Zeta-Jones, on the other hand, I've watched several films with her, though I've never connected the name to the face and only became aware of who she actually is after I became slightly obsessed with her (I'm only human). What I can say about their Gomez and Morticia is that the script of the series is terrible, especially when it comes to the characters on the edge (a term I just made up, not sure if it actually exists). The script focuses on Wednesday and hopefully those closest to her (Enid, Xavier, Tyler and Weems), the rest is just that, the rest. And, unfortunately, the Addams fell into that category. Gomez and Morticia (and Pugsley) appear for two episodes, in the first with only five minutes screen time, and in the fifth where everything is just bad. Personally, I enjoyed the fifth episode from a point of view of 'oh my gods, my family finally showed up'. However, if I'm a bit critical, the poor quality and mischaracterisation of the characters becomes something glaring. As several people have pointed out before, making Wednesday angry because her father is supposedly a murderer makes no sense at all. Just as it makes no sense for Gomez to feel ashamed of that fact, especially when Juliá's Gomez was also suspected of killing his own cousin and talks about it with a smile on his face. Of course, every adaptation is an adaptation, but we are talking about characters marked in the popular imagination and from whom people expect something in particular. The Addams way of being is something that cannot be lost or changed from one adaptation to another, and Wednesday fails badly in showing the Addams way.
I was going to say something else, but I lost my train of thought. Anyway, the original series and the Sonnenfeld movies are the best versions of the Addams. Vernon and Tiernen's animated films are good for passing the time (and I'd say the look of the characters comes close enough to the original), but they have the same family dynamic problem as Wednesday, the difference being that Wednesday made everything infinitely worse. There's still time to fix things in season two, hopefully Ortega can do that for us.
I remembered what I was going to say. One problem with recent adaptations, in my opinion, is the focus on the main core family, ignoring those close to them. The original series is about Gomez and Morticia and their shenanigans, most episodes involve some craziness from the two, but still, the secondary characters had their time to shine. Lurch, Thing, Mama, Cousin Itt and Fester all had episodes focused on solving some problem of their own or where they were the centre of the whole mess. Pugsley and Wednesday, even though they hardly appeared much in most episodes, also had episodes reserved for them. Nowadays, that doesn't happen any more. Pugsley being the one who suffers the most from this, because with each new adaptation he gets dumber and more invisible. The original Pugsley was curious and creative, an efficient inventor and an enthusiastic pyrotechnician. Apart from his love of explosives, every other part of his personality has been transferred to Wednesday, plus the fact that he's the oldest and has an octopus.
I've talked a lot and I don't know if I've managed to answer your question, but this is it.

Very Punny
A self-indulgent drabble with Lester Sinclair.
The most "fun" thing about generalized anxiety disorder is when you suddenly get anxious without an identifiable trigger. This drabble is about Lester comforting me during an anxiety episode.
Also posted on my ao3 under thirstyvampyre
My hand shook as I reached out. I needed Lester's comfort but my anxiety roared even louder when I began trying to wake him up. I'd gone to wake him a few times now and had chickened out.
We'd gone to bed as usual. Lester had fallen asleep soon after. I felt myself drifting off when I noticed my heart racing. I'd tried to calm it with breathing exercises but it wouldn't ease. A restless, frantic energy overtook me. I had to get out of bed. I tried watching YouTube videos but my cell service wasn't steady enough.
I shook his shoulder and called his name. It took a couple of tries for him to stir.
He groaned and mumbled "What is it?"
"Um, I...my anxiety..." I said, struggling to say anything.
He sat up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes, "What's wrong?"
I bit my lip and shrugged. "It's just a flare up."
He stood and wrapped his arms around me. I buried my face in his chest as he held me close.
"I'm here darlin'," he said, touching his head to mine.
Lester kept one arm around me and led me to the living room. He sat on the couch and pulled me onto his lap. We cuddled there and watched some late night variety show as he occasionally cracked jokes.
After a couple of episodes I felt calm enough to try to sleep. I giggled when he insisted on carrying me to bed. He even spread kisses all over my face before settling beside me.
The quiet provided a stark contrast after that. I squeezed Lester tighter. He pulled me closer.
"You know what they'd call the hairy guy from the Addams Family riding a scooter?" He said.
"What would they call Cousin Itt?" I asked.
"A mop head on a moped," he said before we burst into laughter.
After a few more jokes I felt better. My anxiety hadn't gone away but it wasn't as oppressive as before. I fell asleep in Lester's arms knowing he would be there for me.
