happy holidays to those who celebrate and merry days regardless to those who don’t! hope you all have fantastic times ahead. ♡♡♡ here’s a cute and kind of funny headcanon to make your day even sweeter, though: 

aether loves giving out gifts and souvenirs of his journeys to others. his gifts may look and sound strange to most, but his reasoning behind them can be quite endearing. if he sees something that reminds him even slightly of your muse, he’ll get that so he can send it as a gift. for example, if he finds an odd rock that doesn’t have any gleam to it and looks more like metal, but isn’t really metal, he’ll send it to zhongli, thinking he ought to appreciate it. did he find a fairy tale in a very old notebook, handwritten by what seems to be a child of decades ago? he’ll send it to nahida. a porch with just petals inside? ningguang must see how ironic and fascinating that is, right? he’ll send it to her. oh, what about this multicoloured leaf here? that reminds him of kazuha. an apple that doesn’t rot and seems extremely sweet? venti. more often than not, he won’t write letters explaining his gifts or why he sent them when he did, he’ll just send them through the mail, and that’s it; he’ll do so without uttering a single word, even when he meets his friends again. mostly, this is because he has some trouble holding a pen and writing (it feels very unnatural for him since he’s so used to only handling weapons, rather than indulging in artistry), sure, but part of it is also because he doesn’t think it’s necessary (even if, c’mon now, it probably is). all of this to say that… if your muse gets a package from aether with just a single feather inside the envelope or even just a tiny rock or seashell, don’t be offended. it’s his special, alien-esque way of saying he cares about your muse, more than he can ever express it! it’s him silently saying: you’re in my thoughts, even if we’re apart. i see you everywhere. i remembered and i’ll continue to remember. until next time.
