for my next move i'm going to think about spike being made by angel vs spike being made by dru and why i think both of these scenarios are actually sexy enough that it's hard to choose. it is important that regardless of who did the actual literal deed spike is like that because of both of them because
a) subsuming himself into his relationship with Dru and making it his whole identity is a key aspect of their whole deal. insofar as he's steering this ship it's a 24/7 themed party cruise celebrating the specialest girl in the world.
b) every time spike is a thorn in angel's side it's gotta be a believable own goal. i should be able to sit back and laugh at him knowing he did this to himself.

Obviously in general the Collector’s reign is bad/harmful, but I think he should be allowed to continue utterly humiliating and destroying child abusers. As a treat. He’s doing such a good job <3

As an Absolute shock to no one, I accidentally made my first Baldur’s Gate 3 play through into a personal tragedy.
As a shock to myself, my obsession with this game made me want to draw again so someone take this thing away from me before I stare at it too long!!

Idea I'm too tired to write properly:
Larryboy's driving through Bumblyburg on the trail of the Milkmoney Bandit (that one scallion mugger from the cold open of the Rumor Weed), whose been acting unusual lately. Not only is he doing more high-profile thefts than usual (he's got a very specific range, you know? it's in the name and everything), and not sticking to the shadows as well as normal, but he's been doing more thefts instead of fewer despite it almost being summer vacation (again, he's usually very particular about specifically taking milk money from school kids, so summer's his off-season). Larryboy managed to plant a tracker into the change the Bandit took in his most recent heist, and is following the signal to the warehouse district (it's a superhero city, gotta have a warehouse district).
He sneaks in, corners the Bandit with his usual theatrics... only to pause when he realizes that the Bandit looks really pale and wobbly. And then he glitches and says that his recent crimewave happened because "they" said they'd give him The Antidote if he did what they said. And when Larryboy questions this, one of Garyboy's plungers wraps him up and the virus comes out of the shadows.
As he's an eggplant of his word, he gives the Bandit a syringe containing the patch that'll purge the low-level malware in his system and tells him to skedaddle. Once the two are alone there's some hero-villain banter exchanged, they catch each-other up on what they've been doing lately (within reason. neither of them is about to reveal anything actually useful to one of their worst enemies), and eventually Larryboy manages to get loose.
The fight commences, during which it's revealed that Larry's suit has been reinforced to the point where Gary can't bite him through it. Larry's the more skilled fighter and Gary's stronger and has his Hydra powers, which makes them pretty evenly matched, at least until they've been fighting for a while and we're reminded that Code-Level entities don't get tired as fast as Character-Level entities (at east on average), so Gary gets the upper hand... metaphorically speaking.
Thankfully, he's not here to finish the job this time. Instead, he's here to show off a new trick he learned. He shoots a plunger (on a stick instead of a cord. that is something the super-suction ears can do even if it's only happened once in the Fib from Outer Space as a slapstick thing) at the Larrymobile, causing it to transform. Obviously it switches to Garyboy's color scheme, but it also gets a bit bigger and changes its signature smooth cucumber-shape into something more angular with segmented armor plating.
And, of course, once it's fully become the Garymobile Garryboy gains the ability to control it remotely. He takes it for a spin, knocking Larryboy around in the process, before portaling out. Communications come back online (because of course Garyboy was jamming his signal on top of everything else) and when Alfred asks if Larry's alright all he can think to say is that he needs a new car.

the way russ explains things, i swear
this is another way he reminds me so much of bruce dickinson sometimes, they both have that thing where they can explain things in a way that literally anybody could understand it
bruce with planes for example, when i hear him talk about them, he makes me feel like i've been a plane mechanic for 60 years despite knowing nothing about planes besides what he's saying(and i have not been alive for 60 years)
russ is the same, not about planes, but just the way he words things. things about life and his perspective on things. they're both so smart in similar ways and they both have that same drive in doing what they want to do. they both have an amazing outlook on life. the love for music. the love for the fans. just beautiful people all around.

ok but what if artemis chose the name artemis after he got out of hell and started on his rampage not because he was being spiteful to the gods.... though he will very much say that's probably the reason... but rather because his memories were warped and his mind and body literally melted and twisted into something else so violently different (demon yk yk) and so, he literally just....can't remember why he liked the name artemis.... he just did... he just. chose it. for "no reason". maybe!! maybe artemis was one of the very few gods he actually LIKED and so, the name stuck out in his frayed and wrecked mind. more on that line of thinking.... maybe he doesn't even remember his own daughter, Hedone (daughter between eros and psyche!)

At this point I think I have to accept we’re not getting anything until Indigo actually comes out or very close to, sometime after the 21st. One part of me has reached the whatever stage while the other part of me is still like, what the fuck?!
Do I get it? Not really. But I haven’t been able to make sense of a lot of shit that’s been happening since the summer. I don’t think they do either given how last minute everything has been.
I hope someone makes a documentary years after BTS disband that does an insane deep dive into them that includes this era because I would be fascinated to know what the game plan was. Since we’ll never know from the company and I don’t see any of the members doing a tell-all. Even though I would live for that, a book or otherwise. Specifically from Namjoon’s perspective ‘cause I think if anyone would write a good book it’d be him.

It's sad Sakujun hours on this blog, someone quick play an erhu.
i.e. I made the conscious decision, myself, of rewatching his episodes as background noise and now, predictably, I am sad all over again, who could have foreseen this

ok time for some knb Sorting opinions
akashi the kid who broke after years of pressure because he realized he was going to lose his friends if he wasn't the strongest and then did all he could to make sure some versions of their friendship still existed even if it was unfeeling antagonistic rivalry - the kid who never said 'i want to be the strongest' but 'i have to prove that i am the strongest' - the kid that in the depth of despair still believed his friends would get through and above all believed in the one who most represents teamwork and hard work?
that kid's an hufflepuff.
aomine the kid who loved loved basketball and believed that someone who worked as hard as kuroko would necessarily have something to contribute, that kid who enjoyed being part of a team, that kid who was broken when he realized he didn't need other people in his team to win, he could do that on his own, he didn't even need to work ?
also an hufflepuff
kise, kaijo's kise, the kid who wanted a challenge and stayed because he liked the team and started giving up not because the challenge disappeared but because the team was breaking apart and offered no warmth anymore, the kid who bonded with his new team at the fist sign that they had structure, that was the first of the GoM to appear because he was the first to reach out, that kid whose arc most of any of the GoM is about his team as a whole....
that kid is a hufflepuff
and kuroko ? the one who said 'it doesn't matter if i don't score i play so we can win'? the kid who joined a team that only accepts your application if you prove your determination to reach your goal? the kid who didn't say go from 'victory at any price' to 'well, no actually' but instead redefined victory? the kid who goes 'i want to win but winning is not enough i also want winning to feel good, and also to change my ex teammates entire mentality. also my goal is to defeat said old teammates who are the strongest and undefeated.' the kid who get on the court and see paths no one else does ? the kid who manage from a single suggestion from akashi to invent something that surprised akashi ? the kid who wants more, and is always able tocreate a path to victory ?
kuroko is a slytherin.

The books are more vague about how they're raised. But at least Alicent tried. Viserys is the true parent to blame.
I'm aware. The book is vague about a lot of things. That commentary was about the show please let's not act like that wasn't heavily implied.
In any case: They're both to blame. Alicent doesn't get off the hook just because Viserys was also a shitty parent. She literally physically abuses and emotionally abuses Aegon onscreen.

During the 2008 recession, my aunt lost her job. Her, her partner, and my three cousins moved across the country to stay with us while they got back on their feet. My house turned from a family of four to a family of nine overnight, complete with three dogs and five cats between us.
It took a few years for them to get a place of their own, but after a few rentals and apartments, they now own a split level ranch in a town nearby. I’ve lost track of how many coworkers and friends have stayed with them when they were in a tight spot. A mother and son getting out of an abusive relationship, a divorcee trying to stay local for his kids while they work out a custody agreement, you name it. My aunt and uncle knew first hand what that kindness meant, and always find space for someone who needed it, the way my parents had for them.
That same aunt and uncle visited me in [redacted] city last year. They are prolific drinkers, so we spent most of the day bar hopping. As we wandered the city, any time we passed a homeless person, my uncle would pull out a fresh cigarette and ask them if they had a light. Regardless of if they had a lighter on hand or not, he offered them a few bucks in exchange, which he explained to me after was because he felt it would be easier for them to accept in exchange for a service, no matter how small.
I work for a company that produces a lot of fabric waste. Every few weeks, I bring two big black trash bags full of discarded material over to a woman who works down the hall. She distributes them to local churches, quilting clubs, and teachers who can use them for crafts. She’s currently in the process of working with our building to set up a recycling program for the smaller pieces of fabric that are harder to find use for.
One of my best friends gives monthly donations to four or five local organizations. She’s fortunate enough to have a tech job that gives her a good salary, and she knows that a recurring donation is more valuable to a non-profit because they can rely on that money month after month, and can plan ways to stretch that dollar for maximum impact. One of those organizations is a native plant trust, and once she’s out of her apartment complex and in a home with a yard, she has plans to convert it into a haven of local flora.
My partner works for a company that is working to help regulate crypto and hold the current bad actors in the space accountable for their actions. We unfortunately live in a time where technology develops far too fast for bureaucracy to keep up with, but just because people use a technology for ill gain doesn’t mean the technology itself is bad. The blockchain is something that she finds fascinating and powerful, and she is using her degree and her expertise to turn it into a tool for good.
I knew someone who always had a bag of treats in their purse, on the odd chance they came across a stray cat or dog, they had something to offer them.
I follow artists who post about every local election they know of, because they know their platform gives them more reach than the average person, and that they can leverage that platform to encourage people to vote in elections that get less attention, but in many ways have more impact on the direction our country is going to go.
All of this to say, there’s more than one way to do good in the world. Social media leads us to believe that the loudest, the most vocal, the most prolific poster is the most virtuous, but they are only a piece of the puzzle. (And if virtue for virtues sake is your end goal, you’ve already lost, but that’s a different post). Community is built of people leveraging their privileges to help those without them. We need people doing all of those things and more, because no individual can or should do all of it. You would be stretched too thin, your efforts valiant, but less effective in your ambition.
None of this is to encourage inaction. Identify your unique strengths, skills, and privileges, and put them to use. Determine what causes are important to you, and commit to doing what you can to help them. Collective action is how change is made, but don’t forget that we need diversity in actions taken.
