speak no evil au papyrus headcanons:

he has become obsessed into creating an unsolvable puzzle that'll entertain the player without them needing to kill anyone! he knows that's what they're after! right?

he's extremely empathetic towards the anomaly because he can to some extent understand what loneliness feels like and the need to constantly rove yourself to others so you may have friends...

he remembers now so... maybe he can be friends with them now? he feels they are hurting. he feels they are at conflict.

after all. if they really didn't care they wouldn't bring this world they destroyed back... there HAS to be a good person in there still. maybe a bit twisted and sadistic but... despite everything it's still them? the old human that became his first friend once? tried his puzzles and ate his frozen spaghetti against all odds... he sees little point in violence.

maybe he WILL actually go all out on them and even KILL them beche loses control over his magic but it's not malicious... they... they love it? they like his attacks? he feels a bit strange letting go of his controlled magic but... something about it feels... like a friendly spar despite the sheer danger of it...

and ... they've actually STOPPED decapitating him their blade will stop a few inches away from his neck as they announce their "win"

he feels like he's making progress on convincing them to stop...

unlike sans he will go through the extra mile to understand and maybe even help this being. maybe they can all be happy one day?

he knows they both have one thing in common. a strong desire to be remembered... he will assure them he will not forget. and they don't need to act like a villain to solidify their image. of course he can't exactly break "the script" his foolish brother instilled on the new timeline. he WILL die no matter what even if neither the anomaly or his brother kill him...

the world is broken... and more violence will not fix it. he believes in them. he will do everything he can to change fate.

if the script for him replacing sans next deems it so he will try to resist. he will cry for help. he will ask THEM for help.
