cyrus's character as a victim of abuse isn’t really talked about much tbh considering he’s the first major character who's got it very involved in their story but it’s hidden away in a random npcs dialogue. like he thinks emotion is bad bc he was neglected and heavily pressured into getting high test scores and always felt he was letting his parents down and so thought the world would be a better place without emotions to get in the way. like which makes perfect sense knowing his backstory like that is in fact child abuse even if it’s a more subtle kind and he’s basically projecting his trauma response onto the whole world. but his goal is definitely confusing without knowing that.
