I’m so glad i’m not alone in loving and defending nandor! Sometimes i catch myself wishing nandermo was never a thing so that people would leave my poor babygirl alone!! He’s a complex and wonderful character on his own, he doesn’t have to only matter when guillermo is concerned 😭

I think most people don’t realize that by the s4 finale, Guillermo wasn’t upset about the whole freddie thing anymore. He was just chilling out with nandor and the rest of the vampires and wasn’t even thinking about leaving. The reason he actually made the decision to pack up his stuff and ask Derek to turn him was because he realized 15, 20 years for a vampire is the equivalent of 15,20 weeks at most. And he couldn’t stay with nandor for 20 years until he finished his books and turned to another hyperfixation. He’d be too old. That’s why he decided to leave to become a vampire. And also he realized that nandor was going to be boring for a long while. So he decided to become a vampire in the meantime to have some shenanigans of his own.

Hello!! Love your "what we do in the shadows"au bit but um I sadly had never heard of wwdits before so I have no idea where this is going! Is eddie like manipulating Steve? Do they end up in love or does Steve realize eddie will never turn him?? I'm so interested I love your writing and I think this is so fun

hi! thank you! that au is based off of the show version of wwdits and the steddie dynamic is modeled after the characters of nandor, a 760 year old vampire, and guillermo, a former panera employee who became nandor’s familiar ten years before the start of the show. guillermo also discovers in season 1 that he’s actually a descendent of abraham van helsing and is himself a very skilled vampire hunter 🙃 i think this would be very funny for steve!!!

on the show, it’s very much a slow burn type thing and season 3 has left a lot to be desired in terms of the ship (nandor is extremely disrespectful in a lot of ways! but he seems to be realizing he can’t really live without guillermo at the close of the season! we’ll see!). if i continue the au, i would definitely depart from how they did it on the show, because they’ve actually made nandor almost irredeemable at this point imo and im not sure how nandor/guillermo could really be end game… (nandor uses djinn wish to turn his resurrected wife into a clone of guillermo’s boyfriend and then the clone and the bf run off together???? funny!!!!! but also horrible)

in my lil headcanon for this au, i definitely see eddie as totally in love with steve (and vice versa, though steve is a little bit at his wit’s end with the whole thing tbh), but he’s afraid that if he turns steve, steve will no longer have any reason to stick around and so eddie continues to string him along and in front of the cameras, really wants to appear as a cool and aloof vampire who has everything under control and can manipulate anyone he wants. his cool persona is very important to him!! i don’t know if steve will ever get turned (i forget what the lore is in the show for vampire hunters lol) but they are very much in love and pining and being big idiots about it!! and everyone knows and sees it, especially robin and nancy but they think it’s exceedingly funny and continue to encourage just absolutely unhinged behavior in the two.

so that’s kinda where i see it going, because i don’t think i could do the whole nandor/guillermo thing, nandor is so mean lol

Disclaimer: Conceptually I’m trying to add my own twits on White Wolf’s World of Darkness’ universe, in order to avoid any kind of problematic themes and contexts. I do acknowledge that, while seemingly innocent world-building for entertainment, the Kindred of the East supplement has a lot of problems, and I’ll do my best to avoid any kind of controversial inconsistencies.

PRELUDE

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ever since he can remember, Yu has always felt that people around him were prone to being weaker, sometimes mentally sometimes physically, sometimes in various aspects combined. This, in one way or another, was perhaps one of the reasons why the young man, in addition to nourishing a certain arrogance and distancing, also developed a strange sense of responsibility towards other people, even in a relatively simple peasant community ----------------- or at least that's how he remembers it. Right at his early years of living, social disparities and disregard for simple people from the lower classes began to arouse the fury of this already hot-blooded and short-tempered young man.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Thanks to his physical strength and willpower, it was not long before the young man was noticed by an important general who was on the rise at the time, looking for new strength and willing men to join the rebellion against those who held power ------------------ just to take power for himself. However, the beautiful words and a cause for which he was able to fight quickly ignited a flame in the young Yu's heart, causing him to quickly join the rebel forces against the empire. Proving to not only be a promising soldier, battle after battle, conflict after conflict, the young man was soon able to ascend to the prestigious position of a General, using his cunning on the battlefield and his strength to crush enemy forces without failing. His strength and performance on the battlefield quickly became a reason for both fear and fascination, granting him the nickname “Jade General”, who fought with all his soul’s power.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, the glory wouldn’t last as long as he expected and soon the general who first noticed him began to grow paranoid and to become a potential threat to his own allies. And one of them was young Yu himself, who was from time to time victim of attacks within the rebel forces. Still, due to his loyalty and even bluntness, he was unable to see the real reasons for these attacks, how could he have known his beauty, strength and charisma could be a problem for his superiors to ascend to power? Until finally the very general he trusted so much ended up handing him over to the imperial forces on a suicide mission, where Yu ended up being captured and tortured for days until finally meeting his first death. Little did any of his opposers that, instead of having him dead, this only caused him to accumulate too much resentful energy, and instead of going to the spiritual world, his souls actually got back to his body, making him reborn as a completely different creature a fallen warrior Wan Kuei. 

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At first, he rose from the pool of war cadavers like a ferocious corpse, devouring living creatures on the way, and after a few comings and goings, he was finally able to regain some consciousness just to realize that he had become the same monster his enemies feared so, having to run away from his own thirst for blood, even if he wanted to continue walking among mortals. He did try to go back to his family, but after the rebellion, his family was forced to either flee to a safer place or they were killed during the war; He was never able to find out which. After realising there was no chance of finding again them, Yu eventually gave up and sought for high priests and cultivators for help and little by little start to understand empirically the idea of becoming an actual living corpse and all its implications; Rotting under sunlight, the conjuration of chi-fueled magic. Things that no mortal would be able to do. 

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Weeks became months, months, became years, years became centuries in a blink of an eye, and since no answer was obtained he decided to move forward and to travel to other places for answers, only for Yu to realise he had awakened in a completely new world, full of creatures that only mortals would only dream about --------------. or rather, have nightmares about.

Meat and the Moon

So, this was inspired by a talk with @justapalspal! I really like paranormal aus... vampire Ryou and werewolf Bakura. (I have an idea for a deathshipping one with werewolf Ryou too...) Can be gem- or tendershipping, I didn’t really specify what Bakura looks like.

Ryou had been sixteen and a half for four years now.

All vampires weren’t hundreds of years old- he’d been turned recently enough that it was still odd realizing that the scraps of baby fat on his cheeks and the smattering of freckles across his cheeks and the burn on the back of his thumb would never fade.

He was still young enough that he fit in with teenagers just fine, but old enough that sometimes he felt like one of the movie vampires that who hid in castles had the right idea.

Of course, they didn’t have the certain someone that he did.

“Get your face off my counter.”

“Get your counter out from under my face.” Bakura’s ears flicked, beanie hat tossed over to the coffee table like it always was when he came home. It was the day of the full moon, so he was more wolfish than usual. “Tell me you brought-”

“Yes, I brought the meat.” Ryou held up the bags full of raw steak and ground hamburger, as well as a few blood bags he’d managed to sneak out of the local hospital that were a day from expiring.

Bakura grinned with large teeth. “Have I ever told you I adore you?”

“Usually after I feed you.” Ryou said, but he was smiling too. Bakura’s pack had been split up by a forest fire, and Ryou had found him scavenging for scraps and taken him in, curious about another paranormal creature.

He dropped the bags on the counter, and Bakura’s tail wagged, drool leaking out of his mouth. Ryou pulled out his bags of blood, placing one in the freezer, then took a bite out of the steak, chewing and wiping at the red droplets that slid down his lip. “Dig in.”

Bakura did, having enough foresight to at least grab a fork. He always processed raw meat better just before the full moon, and Ryou laughed to watch him him dig in. As Bakura enjoyed his dinner, Ryou carefully opened one of the blood bags and began to suck at it.

“Mmm, it’s more frozen than usual…”

“I hurried home.” Ryou said. “The clouds looked like they were about to clear up and I didn’t have a good enough umbrella.”

Bakura licked his lips. “Still fresh, though.”

“Of course, I don’t want you getting poisoned. The butcher thanked me for helping him to get his daughter to college. With how much we buy, he’d hate to lose us.” Ryou said, watching as Bakura packed away as much meat as he could as the clock ticked towards sunset. They kept the blinds closed in case the sun got too bright for Ryou, so they had to rely on the time.

Ryou headed over to the couch, his own dinner finished and waiting for Bakura. He managed to finish most of the raw meat, draping himself over Ryou’s lap and snuggling up to his midsection.

“How much longer?” Bakura asked, and Ryou checked his watch.

“Two minutes.”

“Nailed it.” Bakura grinned, licking his red teeth.

“You did.” Ryou agreed, running his fingers through Bakura’s thick, shaggy hair. It was nice to have something living on his lap- blood temporarily filled his belly with a bit of warm comfort, but it was nothing compared to an actual heartbeat.

Ryou counted Bakura’s breaths as he waited for the sun to set. As it fully sank below the horizon, Bakura shifted under Ryou’s touch, clothes melting away and hair growing over his body as his entire skeletal structure moved around. Ryou continued to rub soothing circles on his back, and when the transformation was done, Bakura looked up and licked at Ryou’s face.

Ryou grinned- it had worked again. They’d found that if they kept Bakura full just before a transformation, he’d be more docile as a wolf, not frantic for food or territory. If he was content before a transformation, it would carry over.

They’d even tried using tiny doses of Ryou’s tranquilizing venom, but Bakura had later said it had caused paralysis even in such a small dose, so that hadn’t been repeated twice.

Ryou buried his face in Bakura’s soft fur. His enhanced smelling made the cinnamon shampoo Bakura used even stronger, and the intensity almost made his head swim.

Ryou had popped a documentary in before he left to get the food, one about creating crayons so it wouldn’t have any animals for Bakura to freak out over, and hit ‘play’ before settling back on the couch and enjoying the moment.

Yes but also most of the times people think he’s being an asshole, he’s just trying to make a joke and being funny. It’s not his fault his sense of humor is weird 😭. The other times he’s just being a 760 year old vampire who has forgotten all about human ethics, which is understandable. I mean, I’d willingly throw away all i know about humans and their ethics after the first month of becoming a vampire and having to see them as food. Really, there’s no reason not to love him.

he's 760 years old. hes 6'1. hes a war criminal. he was a military general and ruler of an entire country. he's a legendary warrior. he's killed countless people. he had 37 wives. he's bisexual. he's a vampire. he has clinical depression. he has a heart of gold. hes gorgeous. he has a face that was carved by angels. he has a big dick. and he's Just Some Guy.

nandor is like. the first devastatingly handsome vampire warlord ever to be Just Some Guy
