guys have we ever discussed the fuckass way matthew wears his ?? shin pads (?) over the tongue of his skates? and his socks do not go over them all the way?

#i've spent an hour and a half squinting at his skates on getty.#it's not a shot blocker — they're not that bulky and they tend to be custom molded to the skate #(and he does have clear ones fitted!)#i guess it could be extra ankle protection? like an extra piece of gear i haven't seen used?#otherwise it really is just like. him wearing his shin pads kind of weird LOL #i've seen other guys tuck their tongues below their socks or pads but like.#he wears his shin pads (assuming that's what they are) soooo low?#have we considered he can't skate because his feet fucking hurt bc of the way he's wearing this stuff??
