her zanpakuto is one of the coolest and most unique out there, ngl. also she’s just a badass in general. she, without hesitation, wanted to cut off her own arm to save her life, that’s so metal! (also, whenever other characters manage to calm her down and ease her harsh attitude, she’s really cute.)

kubo really put soi fon’s clear lesbianism in a negative light, much like characters like chizuru. it still bothers me immensely how disrespectful he was in his portrayal of lesbians. soi fon, you deserved so much better!

soi fon keeps her office space bare and immaculate because she thinks it looks professional. and while her personal quarters are kept clean, she has a huge problem with clutter due to keeping decades worth of products with black cats on them. but she never allows anyone in her personal quarters except yoruichi anyway, so her cluttering problem seems to not matter much.

soi fon is a good fun cool character and the reason why people are hard on her but not characters who are way worse but still on the side of good is literally just misogyny.

"Alright, before we visit Gen's grave, we gotta stop and pick up the daffodils I ordered for her." Grimmjow walked into the room and tossed his phone aside. He didn't mean to just call out her nickname like that, especially since Nnoitra probably had no clue of it. But, oh well. "I was also thinkin," he looked at his boyfriend with slight curiosity. "Did ya wanna stop by yer mom's grave, too? To pay our respects?" It just felt like the right thing to do. "Maybe we can get some flowers for her?"

     ‘ Gen ‘. It was the first time Grimmjow had mentioned his sister by name. At least Nnoitra assumed it was her name, or - probably a nickname, now that he thought about it. The way Grimmjow talked about her, it was almost like she was still alive. That was kinda nice, Nnoitra thought. It meant he remembered her and he probably treasured the memories they had together. Obviously, he didn’t want Grimmjow to be SAD, so… Yeah. He tried to remember what daffodils looked like. They were yellow, right? Or blue? He didn’t know much about flowers, okay? Nnoitra just nodded, thinking that he was probably going to have to carry the flowers, so at least he’d be useful in that sense. Honestly, ever since Grimmjow asked - after he’d gotten some time to think - Nnoitra had been a bit nervous about going to visit Grimmjow’s sister’s grave. Simply because he wouldn’t know what to do or say. He was worried that he’d end up saying the wrong thing. And what if Grimmjow got all emotional? What was he going to do then? How was he supposed to comfort him? Grimmjow HAD said that it would just be nice to have him there, but that didn’t stop Nnoitra from imagining that his boyfriend was expecting something from him. He just didn’t know what.

     It really surprised Nnoitra when Grimmjow then proceeded to ask about visiting his mother’s grave. And if they should bring flowers. Sometimes, Grimmjow was so pure hearted that it made Nnoitra heat up. Too cute. ‘ Stopping by her grave ‘ wouldn’t work out though. She was buried in Nnoitra’s hometown, and that was what? Eight hours away? Going there would take an entire day. He liked to pretend that that was the reason why he had only been to visit her grave once. It had nothing to do with him not respecting her. It was more about him feeling fucking shitty when he went there. At least he had last time, because he hadn’t cried. You were supposed to cry when you saw your mother’s grave, right? Especially considering how much she had done for him. Would it be different if he went there with Grimmjow? Maybe. But, he couldn’t go there with him. While Grimmjow would think that that would be to ‘ pay their respects ‘, it really wouldn’t. It would, in Nnoitra’s mind, be to dishonor her and her memory. Because she would NOT have approved of their relationship. Nnoitra could tell himself as much as he wanted that she would’ve been happy for him, but deep down, he knew that she never would’ve accepted him being happy with another man. Mah, Grimmjow didn’t need to know that. His boyfriend didn’t know much about Nnoitra’s upbringing ( just like Nnoitra knew next to nothing about Grimmjow’s childhood ). The other did know that Nnoitra was raised to be a Christian, but he didn’t know just how religious Nnoitra’s mom had been. 

     ❝ Mah. ❞ He rolled his shoulders in a shrug, playing this off as no big deal. He didn’t think this counted as LYING to Grimmjow? It was just too much to explain, and too difficult a subject for him to even attempt at making a conversation out of.  ❝ Her grave ‘s in my hometown, ‘s like eight hours away by train. Maybe we can go another time. ❞ Did he mean that? Yeah, he did. He WANTED to make up a reason for it to be okay to bring Grimmjow there. He wanted his mother to accept them. That was just a dream though. She was dead and he would never get to talk to her again, and if she was in Heaven, she was probably fucking judging him right now. He let out a small breath, strictly speaking a sigh.  

     ❝ ‘S pretty cute that ya’d wanna bring flowers ‘fer her grave though. ❞ There was a smile on his face now, as he looked at Grimmjow. Too cute. When he looked at him like this, it was really difficult to imagine his mother not liking him. How could ANYONE not like him? He was so fucking perfect. Maybe if she had been alive, and just… Gotten to know Grimmjow, she would’ve approved of him? Nnoitra wanted to believe that, and since it really was difficult to imagine someone not liking Grimmjow, he was able to believe it, without feeling like he was lying to himself. Grimmjow was funny and thoughtful and handsome and brave and loyal and HIS. And Nnoitra fucking adored him. He realized that he was feeling much calmer about visiting Grimmjow’s sister’s grave now. It was strange, that just thinking about how much he loved Grimmjow and how GOOD they were together, could calm him down like this. In the past, he had never been able to fight off the negative thoughts. Now - he was mentally strong enough to do that. Because he was loved, and Grimmjow could take ALL the credit for that.
