My grandpa is a really great cook, esp italian but at some point last year or maybe two years ago it was. He got really into japanese food for a while, the issue is that hes like. Not cooking it like youd cook japanese food normally, hes kinda using his italian skills. So he made like ramen with tofu and the tofu was fried on olive oil. And he makes like pasta but the noodles are soba. So soba noodles with tomato sauce with oregano in it and olive oil fried tofu in it. I tried to cook for him a bunch of times like the chinese food that i usually eat and show him soy sauce that doesnt taste like plastic and stuff but he just trucks on.
