So today I learned more about John XXII's personal vendetta with witchcraft, including the fact that he had been the victim of an assassination attempt via witchcraft (and poisoning, probably more importandly) and ngl it make his absolute nonchalance regarding Hugh le Despenser's own murder attempt via witchcraft even funnier to me
