I have read one fic where he just thinks of wanting to be somewhere safe -- and finds himself in the palace not far from Frigga's chambers, And she sees him before he can teleport anywhere else. I would love to read more 'Loki tesseracts back to Asgard' fics, if anyone knows of any others out there. I mean, where is the last place they'd think to look for him? Right under their noses seems a plausible answer; it seems like he'd be more than capable of illusioning himself as an ordinary citizen if he wanted to remain incognito while he rested and recovered from his ordeals in the place he felt safest. Or if he doesn't, if he actually wants to see and talk to his parents? Even better yet.

brb just thinking about the deliciously angsty possibilities that could come from Loki taking the Tesseract at the beginning of The Avengers and then just. going home. like just suddenly showing up in the middle of the throne room and falling to his knees and sobbing because he never should have left. if he'd known what was out there, he never would have left.
