love and light to all who are enjoying but the problems I felt like were latent within TLOU adaptation have really started to come to a head and it’s such a bummer!
#highlights are the scenery/setting capturing the vibe so perfectly and bella’s performance#like it’s still fun to watch it’s just fun to see this recreated on my screen!#but….i don’t really think it’s that successful as an adaptation sorry#i’m finding i just really don’t like craig’s writing it’s very ‘telling not showing’#he trades in organic dialogue unfolding naturally within scenes (with space to breathe) for long contrived monoloues every time#the pacing is frankly bizarre and really takes away from the odyssey-like feel of their journey#many moments feels crammed and rushed with no space to breathe#and i’m sorry but i just really hate craig’s conception of the characters#if he says ellie is ‘activated’ one more time i’m going to start biting
