I think the idea of telling parts of the story via music videos or theatrical sequences is really interesting, and it could work really well, but I hope we get some memory-based flashbacks too! I know they said there will be less emphasis on memory (especially on the unreliable narrator/memory is a monster theme) and that the story will be more focused on the present day, but have they said anything to suggest that they're completely avoiding flashbacks? I really hope not! There are certain parts of TVL I'd be disappointed if they skimmed over tbh, especially the in-depth character stuff between Nickistat, Armand, Gabrielle etc. Rolin said he really put Joseph Potter through the ringer during the audition process to ensure he's a good fit for Nicki, but there's no real way for Joseph to appear on the show at all, other than flashbacks. I'm not even a huge Nickistat fan, and I suspect that relationship will be a bit less prominent in s3 than some fans are hoping, but I do think it'd be a waste to only depict it through a music video sequence or smth? Lesmand flashbacks would be a good way to keep Assad prominent on the show too. I wouldn't be surprised if things like the Wolfkilling, Lestat's childhood, and maybe his abduction by Magnus were told through music/theatre though?

I do think we‘ll get flashbacks. But I think part of the story might get told in musical numbers. I don’t think it’s a coincidence Rolin gave us Rocky Horror and Hedwig. I think not only the style but also the narrative parts might be reflected.

Nonetheless, I do expect flashbacks as well, maybe in direct discussion with Daniel?! And/or Louis? And the broader strokes running as music videos in stores or whereever? I‘d love that tbh.

Armand will feature heavily next season. He hinted at it all already, that will definitely be expanded. And… it will be very interesting- and likely very dark.

They already gave us parallels to Nicki that were intentional. Armand gave us the basics, too. I don’t think that part of the story will be overly cute, tbh.

And that might be explicitly why Rolin put Joseph through the wringer. Because… Nicki… (and his story and everything connected to it) is going to be (as) hard to watch (as everything else) I bet.
