Idk call me crazy but Max's decision to step back from certain social media activities has absolutely nothing to do with Daniel. He never tried to hide how much he dislikes media duties, especially forced ones he doesn't feel fully comfortable with, and given his status within the team it is well within his right to opt out of stuff he doesn't care for or deems unnecessary.

Not to mention how the onslaught of negativity and hate towards him over the past year must have only intensified his distaste for social media and solidified his stance about not wanting to give people who are already too parasocial for their own good more material to pull out of context, mock or use against him.
