ough. jjba star wars au. i have not thought this out much yet im going off of this insanely gorgeous art so this is what ive got so far

option 1: joseph joestar is han solo (duh). reasoning for this is the aforementioned art and also just like... the vibes. p2 joseph is so hansolocore. and i think caesar and suzi q as luke and leia is really funny but i havent settled on which combo is funnier. i think im settling on caesar is leia (i think he is more the rebel diplomat prince type guy) and suzi is luke (some random girl from buttfuck nowhere who is going on some adventure and is soooo cool). other than these three i have absolutely no fucking idea who would be who. i love this trio but if i do anything with them i will probably just doodle them and not think too hard about everyone else <3 ok?

Ya know how Anakin’s first language is Huttese (along side Basic) in the actual franchise?

What is in 50 Shades, Shmi’s first language is French, meaning Anakin’s is as well (I say French cuz Hayden is Canadian)

It’s not something he mentions/uses bc it’s just one more thing that reminds him of his mother/no one else in his life knows French so there’s no point

BUT

Meanwhile, on the sidelines, Obi-Wan is STRUGGLING. He’s not entirely sure if it’s French but the accent is so he just assumes. But that’s not his issue. His issue is ANAKIN CAN SPEAK FRNECH AND ITS HOT

The time Anakin finally realizes he started speaking his mother’s tongue again, it’s while he’s talking about cucumbers of al things. (“What’s that food called again? It’s green-“ “… grapes? Apples?” “No… it’s concombre in French- oh my god.” “What? What’s wrong?” “I need an emergency meeting with Plo.”)

(Meeting cuz he has sudden big boy emotions about knowingly using this language that was strictly between his mother and him during bad nights/story time/talking in general around people they didn’t want to hear)

Idk, just been sitting on this. Like, in the movies and comics, he very rarely/if ever uses this language. Obvi there’s deeper reasons (being a slave and thats the language his master used) but I highly doubt Shmi and him never whispered about silly things in it as another language not many people know (even in Tatoonie)

I love that Obi-Wan thinks Anakin speaking it is just really endearing, but also very hot haha. Plus, Obi-Wan clearly likes learning more about Anakin, so the fact that something this big is coming out probably feels like a big deal.

And Anakin realizing what's happening and when he finally gets to see Plo about it, he comes to the realization that maybe he started using it not because he's trying to exclude Obi-Wan but because he feels particularly close and vulnerable with Obi-Wan.

You know I was thinking people always ask what if Qui-Gon trained Anakin? Or Mace, Yoga, Dooku, any other number of Jedi but I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anyone actually go into what if the force wasn’t honestly a dead beat parent. Like it decided he needed to be born and just dipped on poor Ani… Didn’t call, didn’t write, didn’t teach him nothing just let him spend a decade enslaved with Shmi without even calling on his birthday. The Ahsoka novel hurt my heart in a good way, here are some of the highlights:

Anytime Ahsoka reflects on what she should do in a tough situation she reflects on what both Anakin and Obi-Wan would have done and usually lands on something in the middle, she considered them both her teachers almost equally :’) and she didn’t seem to have specific resentment toward Obi-Wan for his role in her trial, it was about the council/order as an institution

She still talked to artoo as if he were still there and bantered in battles even though no one was there to respond 😭 and at multiple points has to say to herself something like ‘when are you going to accept they’re gone? It’s just you, and they’re dead’ 💔

She has kept her distance from the force but doesn’t struggle to come back to it when she needs it and these scenes are beautiful

She really couldn’t stay out of the fight for long

She turns to mechanic work because of what she learned from Anakin :’)

A flashback showed that a big part of why Anakin never requested a new padawan was because he recognized that jedi typically work in pairs and he didn’t want it to seem like he was pushing Obi-Wan aside 😭 he ‘didn’t know how he felt’ about Obi-Wan requesting a new padawan but he was already thinking of how to incorporate the new one into their strategies

Female character is attracted to Ahsoka, at one point says she could kiss her in a banter-y way and like, mood

A family Ahsoka stayed with while undercover had a force sensitive child that fortunately was not detected by the sixth brother and seemed to be well protected. At one point she returns to that planet to make sure the young one was safe because she felt bad about leaving abruptly earlier

The way Bail found her was equally 🥹 and hilarious because he tracked her down through a series of reports of undercover rebellious activities and didn’t tell the pilots he sent to find her they were looking for a jedi so she knocked them out and only stayed because Bail had sent artoo with them and the reunion was so 😭 anyway she sent a coded message to Bail and then broke into his house to meet with him

Also Artoo didn’t 100% erase the footage of their reunion so Bail found a tiny shot of her montrals and was immediately like ‘!!!!!!’ when he saw her. He wanted to send Obi-Wan a message to let him know but decided against it for the safety of the children 😭😭 and I respect that but I still hate it i just want them both to know the other survived

Baby Leia 😭 who Bail was afraid to open classified docs around because he was afraid she knew how to read at one year old lmaoo he also had actual conversations with her at that age even though others like Ahsoka couldn’t understand what Leia was saying

Artoo souped up her shitty ship that she ‘acquired’ and made it run so much better

The way Ahsoka got the crystals for her white sabers was so lovely 🥹 she took corrupted crystals from the sixth brother and purifies them

Brief section from Obi-Wan’s POV from Tatooine, which shows him trying to reach out to find other jedi in the force and not being able to sense any 😔 but he is making progress toward connecting with Qui-Gon (not totally canon anymore tbh) and also he went to Shmi’s grave to apologize for losing her son 💔

Overall very good and very enjoyable

Another great pod episode this week! If Qui-Gon shows up in the Kenobi series, he better be the one doing some apologising IMO. That man gets too much of a pass just because Obi-Wan chooses to blame himself for what were Anakin's bad choices and obsessions and overlooks the fact that the failure to free Shmi was Qui-Gon's; have never understood why anyone thinks Obi-Wan should be apologising at Shmi's grave for that.

Oh my....yes some Qui-Gon apologies would be validating, that's for sure. Although we all know Obi-Wan isn't to blame for Anakin's destiny, I certainly understand why he would feel responsible for the terrible things that happen. It's so common for people to blame themselves first. Emotions make it so difficult to step back and see the full picture. It totally breaks my heart to think of Obi-Wan apologizing to Shmi...but I totally can see how he would feel the need to do that. Poor Obi-Wan. He deserved so much better 😭 😭 😭

Sta wars Revenge of the Sith reviews!

So i didnt realize that I'd get so emotionally invested in Padme that I'd start ugly sobbing when Vader force-strangled her. I did and it felt like shit because the one person whose protection made him turn to evil, the same person he claimed to love was the one he hurt with his own hands. Like he was so warped in evil he didnt think his wife, one who Mind you, he sorta forced into a relationship with him, manipulating her to act on her feelings, was the person whose love he believed but ended up doubting in the time when she needed him the fuckin most. She warned him he was breaking her heart, she told him his love was all she needed but ofc he was shrouded in dark power he couldnt master in such a short time...when he threw her away, i thought she was dead! It felt like Obi Wan was having a dilemma, wanting to save him but knowing he shouldnt. Poor thing had to decide between heart and mind! Remember his nightmare where she kept saying 'i cant'? Well that prolly was what she was thinking while unconscious, pleading him to help but knowing it wont work. She, in a way, died in childbirth but we all know she was killed by Vader the minute he broke her heart and the reason she didnt die right there was the babies. So his nightmare, the one wanted to avoid became a fuckin reality, following nearly the entire dream sequence! Like i said previously, Shmi's death was the catalyst for Vader's loyalty switch while the premonition about his wife finalized his decision. He became evil for the two women he loved more than anything... It seems Padme passed down some info to her newborns... Remember Leia saying she remembers her mother? That she was very beautiful but sad. I think this refers to when she held baby Leia who was staring at her. Leia always remembered... And then there's Luke who even despite his nonexistent age remembered he words 'there is still good in him'. Luke subconsciously followed his mothers pleas and ofc he didnt magically know Vader was redeemable even thought he saw proof later... And ofc Vader would hesitate to follow the order where he had to kill his son, the little part of his beloved wife that was still alive, the little part who was one of the reasons he converted in the first place, because admit it or not, he loved his wife and kids😭😭 In a funny way, it came full circle. He changed sides for the love of his wife and unborn child and he ended up killing Palpatine for his children, sacrificing his life for the good of his children and ending the reign of evil. It was so twisted, evil yet beautiful and its why  I'd call Anakin and Padme 'star crossed lovers'... So is this path of immortality the transformation into force ghosts? And i cant see how Anakin became one when he didnt know the Jedi knew that...i cant find the connection I found between Yoda and Obi-Wan. Those two died and their bodies disappeared. Vader's body was cremated, he didnt vanish like the other two yet he became a force ghost...i really dont get this part...🙄 What i dont know is how R2 and 3PO survived everything, especially R2, he literally got out nearly unscathed! I like to think R2 was the smartest being in the series since he had no force, was slow in moving and barely had any weapons yet he knew what to do. He helped Qui Gon, Obi Wan, Anakin and even knew how many messages he had to show Luke, not revealing anything except something that'd lead him to Obi wan. I wonder if obi-wan pretended not to know R2 since he obvs fought many battles with his assistance. Also explains how he knew to get the complete message... I love R2! He passed down to people fighting for good like a fuckin prophecy! A true fuckin legend. Whats ironic is how 3PO was in Leia's protection, the robot her father built with his own, kid hands! I'd say my mom and @vittra88 are 100% right. Revenge of the sith was the best movie from the prequel trilogy. The editing was fuckin badass!! And the story it portrayed was the most interesting!! P.S. R2 is my fave chara from the original and prequel trilogy! And iI cant wait to start watching

So fucking amazing.

Fic where Dooku takes Obi as his Padawan and Qui-Gon giggles like the grown child he is and calls Obi-Wan baby brother and Obi is invited to tea with the whole fam where Qui valiantly tries to protect his new padawan brother from master Yoda’s ‘special’ cookies cause it seems like Obi-Wan wont like a tadpole cookie thanks??? Fuggin GUD stuff my bro.

Fic where Yoda takes Obi as a Padawan and suddenly tea time with the lineage is less likely to kill everyone cause whenever Yoda has a human Padawan he teaches them to bake (probably with the force cause Yoda is short and has many aches in his joints) so the Padawan can help him make soup and sweets for tea and Yoda is always somewhat kind to his padawans taste buds if he can (rip Luke for not having a supermarket nearby he could have had actually decent food lmao) but he’s more likely to teach them to make their own and Obi finds out he likes cooking cause he hates cafeteria food so Qui-Gon keeps slipping him fancy ingredients the day before their bi-weekly tea time so Obi-Wan makes good stuff and also he brought Obi-Wan a pet lizard one day and no one knows why but Obi loves it to pieces that’s his little buddy now.

Fic where Mace takes Obi-Wan as a padawan and Qui-Gon soon becomes Obi-Wan’s favorite sparring partner when he hits his last growth spurt cauee Mace has made him a somewhat dangerous fighter and Qui-Gon is all ‘I don’t want to tell him he’s beating my old bones to death because he always takes going up against me as an ultimate challenge but I feel like I’m getting the shit kicked out of me by a child’ and it’s absolutely hilarious. Mace keeps telling Obi how much Qui LOVES sparring with him. Asshole. Qui-Gon keeps bringing Obi-Wan tea but it’s always decaf in the hopes of making him mellow the fuck out.

Fic where Plo is Obi-Wan’s master who drags him off on search missions for months out of the year and one time Obi and Plo bring back Shmi and 2 year old Anakin and Qui-Gon ends up utterly enchanted with baby Ani and decides he needs to spend time in the creche with the little gremlin more often so he takes a bunch of creche shifts. He just thinks that Obi is a good little searcher 🥰

Just give me fics where Qui-Gon is stupidly fond of that kid and keeps giving him presents and such because he’s not bitter over being forced to raise a child he begged not to. Let him raise his own daughter eventually or just help Clee and Tahl with their kids.

Fics where Obi-Wan ends up with a different master and Qui-Gon thinks Obi is a good boy and brings him presents or meditates with him or gives him nice advice because he’s not being forced to take care of a child he’s not ready or willing to be a parent to? Fuck ya.

Yeah there is definitely no way that Anakin doesn't have that date imprinted in his brain forever and ever. Maybe they bring her lilacs and lavender (I imagine that's Shmi's favorite color too). I'd say that they bring it to her from their garden, but I don't know that they would have it grown by then so maybe from Qui-Gon's garden 🥺
