The day's been long. Lots of paperwork, lots of souls to judge, it makes one wonder what is happening in the mortal world for so many to show up to the Underworld. It turned Kore's mood a bit sour, & it seemed like a blessing Apollo & Vulcan were off doing whatever it is they do elsewhere in her realm rather then being at the palace. That simply left the Queen with her with her right hand.

Such a good & caring man Thanatos is, & someone who knows Kore far to well, trying to raise her spirit with endearing & respectful affections, something Kore come to adore. A kiss upon her hands, be it palm or knuckle, perhaps even both. And it just... seem to awake many things within her mind. How long she's known him, how much they endured together at the hands of the same tormentor, the pain, the tears, the scars, & the looming agony of knowing that even if they died it would not free them... how he watched Astra become Kore. He's been with her longer then even Apollo & Vulcan, & been through more.

"... Thanatos...." A soft call, hand wiggling free from his grip, only for the two of hers to reach & grasp for his softly. Bringing his digits to her lips, & gracing cold knuckles with kisses. A queen kisses the hands of her servant... no, a wife giving a husband a long overdue affection.

"Thank you for saying by me, despite all the torment & difficulties."

His heart leaps a thousand miles to her words. Faithful, like a worshiper to a god. That’s all he had ever been and all he planned to be, but now, being able to show his love and devotion in a different way? Of course he would partake with no questions asked as he takes a step closer.

Step.

A hand moves around her waist. He could see her eyes so clearly and the memories of all the days she was in so much pain flood back into his mind.

Step.

Thanatos was there for it all, since the beginning, he remembered the days those beautiful eyes of hers would flood with tears, the days where hope seemed so far off and giving up would be but a mercy.

Step.

And the day she had given up hope that anyone would be coming for her. That day, he had vowed, no matter how long it would take, he would never see that look ever again from such a beautiful maiden such as herself.

His eyes shut and he leans in, pressing his lips against hers after ever so gently pulling her closer to him. He loved her. For how long? He didn’t know. Maybe since the beginning, maybe after she attained her seat or maybe after he had gifted her with the shiny ore. None of it mattered as he felt the feelings in his soul warm his body slightly and the feeling of being newlyweds and yet being married for so, so long would soothe his mind of any and all negativity.

When the kiss breaks, it is only broken by an inch, when he talks next his lips are brushing against hers as he speaks. “You mean so much more to me than life itself. I am in love with you and I am happy to be by your side. Remember that, will you?”
