(Almost Solid) Proof That Dan Ran PhilsLion

I'm convinced that Dan was the person who ran the PhilsLion twit and I have receipts.  For anyone who doesn't know, PhilsLion is a twitter account that tweeted from the POV of Lion. It's commonly thought that this account was run by Phil. Besides the fact that he would interact with the account, there are multiple tweets that seem to be about him and dan. Unfortunately there's good reason to believe it wasn't Phil running it. HOWEVER there are many reasons that lead me to believe it was Dan who was tweeting from it, some of which is evidence based and some of which makes logical sense.

DISCLAIMER: All tweets I've included that are ostensibly about dan and phil's relationship are in reference to things that are confirmed by d&p themselves (e.g. the fact that d&p were romantically involved when they first met). I will not discuss anything that is not supposed to be public knowledge.

First let's look at when the Twitter was created. (Note: I am in UTC-8 so all screenshots will be in that time zone. I will say what time it would've been in UTC+0 (d&p's time zone) for clarity.)

Dan’s twitter account was created in May 2009. The first tweet from him (assuming he did not delete any older ones) was May 15 at 1:18pm. Presumably this is the day he got twitter.

On May 16 2009 at 3:19am Phil tweeted that he uploaded “I was kidnapped.” 

In this video he mentions his own personal twitter account, and there is an annotation of Lion saying “i want a twitter” (20sec into the video)

About 3 hours after the video was posted (6:26am UTC+0), we get the first tweet from PhilsLion (presumably this was right after the account was created)

May 16th 2009 was a Saturday. We know from Dan’s video “THE POWER NAP” that he worked at ASDA on Saturdays and Sundays from 5am-10am. So he would’ve been awake shortly after Phil posted the video. Also note that Dan presumably had an iPhone at the time (he tweeted something about iPhones in June 2009 and had no previous tweets before that about getting a new phone). He specifically tweeted in Sep 2009 about tweeting from his iPhone. Based on the fact that Dan literally showed up to work drunk and took a nap, I don’t think he is above going on twitter at work.

While this is not proof that Dan created the account, we can see that it’s definitely possible for him to have created the account. We know he would’ve been awake at the time the account was created, and it was approx. a day after he created his own twitter account, so making a twitter account would've been fresh in his mind.

We do have proof that Phil did not create the account. First, he edited the description of “I was kidnapped.” to say that someone [else] created PhilsLion:

He also tweeted May 16th (10:35am UTC+0 if that matters to anyone) basically saying the same thing as the video desc, implying that someone else made the account:

Finally in “AmazingJason” (posted May 26th) he mentions, again, “someone [else]” creating the Twitter account (about 20seconds in, the timestamp is linked). He encourages everyone to follow it and links it in the description of the video:

So unless Phil was really pushing that someone else created it even though he himself made it, it wasn’t him.

If you want to skip to Proof™ scroll down to the next photo of Phil. Before that, I’d like to debunk the 11:11/different time zone thing–I think this is the biggest reason people have claimed that the account was not run by Phil or Dan but rather some other random fan. On May 30th at 4:12pm UTC+0 and June 3rd at 4:19am UTC+0, PhilsLion tweeted about making wishes at 11:11. In order for these tweets to be made at ~11:11 local time, they would need to have been made in either UTC-5 or UTC+7. UTC-5 is US Eastern Time. UTC+7 is a time zone mainly consisting of Southeast Asia. This includes parts of Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. I have an explanation for this, which is certainly the biggest reach of this whole thing, but it is a plausible explanation :p

It’s very possible that it was Dan who tweeted this if he was on vacation with his family at the time. We know Dan and his family have vacationed in Asia many times (at the very least they went to Thailand in 2006, India in 2010 and 2013, and Sri Lanka in 2016). So while there’s no proof (that I know of) that Dan was on vacation at this time, it’s certainly possible that he was. The location of the tweets would fit with where we know his family likes to go on holiday. Additionally, the second tweet talks about water skiing, which tends to be a fun vacation thing rather than something people do regularly (note this tweet would be at 11:19am in UTC+7)

There’s further proof that PhilsLion was not always in UTC+7. On Christmas 2009, PhilsLion tweeted “goodmorning” at 6:21am UTC+0. This would be 1:21pm in UTC+7. It makes a lot more sense for this to have been tweeted in England.

Then fast forward to January 8th 2011. PhilsLion tweets “I was up all night” at 8:05am UTC+0. This would be 3pm in UTC+7. So again, it seems that PhilsLion was not in UTC+7 at this time.

Okay, now onto much more solid evidence. First, the handwriting of PhilsLion. This is the most tangible piece of proof. On June 25th 2009 Phil posted “AmazingAlex,” where Lion can be seen behind him in one of Phil’s shoes:

Lion tweeted a photo the next day, saying “I’m on a boat :)” in reference to being in Phil’s shoe

Note that the drawing/writing does not appear in the video and therefore was done by whoever runs PhilsLion. Here is some of Dan’s writing (found in TABINOF) for comparison:

This is from the “how to draw cat whiskers” page. Notice how the As all have the crossbar quite high up, just like in the twitter picture. Additionally, the top loops in the Bs are all very skinny compared to the bottom loop. Here’s another one of Dan’s capital Bs from the blindfolded portrait page, which is similar to Lion's writing:

I’m not a handwriting analysis expert, and yes it’s different drawing on MSPaint vs. a piece of paper, but the handwriting certainly has similarities.

And now, the more circumstantial evidence, but things that seem (imo) to be too big of a coincidence to not have been written by Dan (FYI these are going to be added in order of how much of a reach they are, not chronological order, lol). First we have “I month you”:

This tweet is proposing an alternate word for “love” and ends with “I month you” (i.e. is replacing the word love with month), and was tweeted on November 19th 2009. AKA exactly a month after dan and phil met IRL for the first time.

Another one that seems very related to Dan and what we know of his situation is this tweet about “Lion’s” dad:

In Dan’s own words in BIG: “I didn’t think I could ask my family for help or share my feelings about this, mainly due to my dad. Funny guy, kind of a woke hippie who did and said a lot of things I did respect but at the same time used to walk around the house saying how he hoped someone he had a problem with at work would 'die of bum cancer.' Yep, so picked the one area to be a bigot that would further traumatize your child. Nice! This experience coming from a childhood hearing the word gay meaninglessly thrown around as an insult at home[.]” 

Note that Dan was still living at home at the time, so if this tweet was made by him, it wouldn't have meant literally “getting away.” Also, Dan was at home when this was tweeted but it was 3 days before he was going to see Phil.

Next there’s this tweet:

The “admirers” thing could be referring to anything really, but was tweeted during the time that Dan (and Phil) were in the Clipstar video contest. Also, Dan posted this dailybooth two days before this tweet, and most of the comments are just gassing him up, so lol (the pic doesn’t load but based on the comments I think it was a screenshot from his clipstar vid).

Many things to note here. The song linked is called “When I See You Again.” It’s by Dave Bullas (one of the founders of SiTC), whom d&p were/are friends with. (They had other friends who were friends with him as well. PJ has the top comment on the video.) The lyrics of the song are not really happy as they insinuate a breakup. But it’s interesting to think about them in the context of wanting to see someone who you are not able to. This tweet was 3/4 days after the “I wonder how biology…” tweet and 3 days before Dan went to see Phil.

Also, Dan just LOVES recommending music to people. He does it a lot.

Now a tweet exchange which doesn't technically prove anything, but I thought was curious. Phil tweeted December 29 2010 about getting a new camera:

Lion tweeted in reference to this 20 minutes later:

I find this interesting because Phil made no comment anywhere about manuals or ignoring them. So it could just be PhilsLion making schput, but a lot of the other Lion tweets are in direct reference to something Phil said/did. It would make sense if Dan ran the twitter acc and he was talking about something that he witnessed Phil do that we don’t know about. Also note “my new camera is here” vs. “phil picked up his new camera” (Lion giving more specific detail than Phil in terms of the manner in which he obtained the camera).

Some Tweets (1, 2, 3) which aren’t proof of anything but just sound like things Dan would say:

For context, this is about floods that happened in Queensland. Again, I have no way to prove Dan said this. But if you’ve ever read, like, anything Dan has said in a print interview ever or watched any of his liveshows, you know that he often tries to say stuff with superfluous/pretentious language and then ends up not making a whole lot of sense. Things that he’s said have been misconstrued so many times, or just outright don’t make sense to anyone but him. So this series of tweets checks out, if it is Dan who ran the account.

Note that two weeks later (October 23) in “Life without the internet!?” Phil says the internet led to him “meeting the best friend of [his] life.” The comments all assume he is referencing Dan, but in the video he holds up Lion, so presumably that’s actually who he’s talking about. That is, unless Lion represents Dan :p

Lastly, this tweet which is a Fall Out Boy lyric, but again would be cute if it was Dan:

There's a few more tweets that are interesting to think about being from Dan but don't actually prove anything so I won't put them here lol.

So, at the end of the day, could it be some random fan* who made the twitter account? Yes. But in my opinion there isn’t really anything proving it’s not Dan. On top of that, there are enough things that fit with what we know factually about d&p now, but were not well known at the time, that make it seem much more likely that Dan ran this account vs. a random person.

*technically when the account was started, Dan himself was a random fan. So there’s that too ;)

"we're home!!" satoru called out to the apartment, holding flowers, followed by a young megumi and tsumiki for the nth time, who held their own bags of food from mcdonalds - with tsumiki carrying an extra one.

"what's this?" you ask, as he hands you the flowers.

"nothin', just thought you would'a liked 'em." he started. "do ya?" he asked.

"yeah, i do, they're lovely, but i was asking about the food." you said. "i was about to start cooking."

"i'm gonna check theirs too. what? you don't want me to check for poison?" satoru retorts. "do you really think i would just let you die if i can do something to prevent it?" he says, trying to persuade the child.

"okay..." megumi says, not fully convinced but handing the bag to satoru anyways.

"great!" he exclaimed, taking a bite and eating almost a quarter of the childs food. "tsumiki, you too!" he says to her, doing the same thing.

"and you, pretty." he says to you, taking a bigger bite out of your food than theirs.

"okay! no poison, you guys can eat." he states happily.

after finished the food and cleaning up, it was time for bed. after tucking in tsumiki and megumi, you both head to your own bed. you lay down with the comforter over you and rest your head on satoru's shoulder as he pulls you close to him.

"you know.." you start, "if you were hungry, i could've shared with you"

"i wasn't hungry! i was checking for poison." he retaliates with mock offence.

"okay.. but i don't think they'll believe you again." you say, leaning closer and sealing you lips together into another soft kiss.

oh how wrong you were. this whole "checking for poison" act lasted until megumi started the 6th grade, as he decided he didn't need to check for poison and "if he dies, he dies."

"told you it wouldn't last." you said one night, as you laid in bed.

"hmph, whatever, he can die. i don't care!" replied satoru, upset at megumi's new-found independence.

Astruc once tweeted that Adrien is Ken for Marinette's Barbie.

Idk about the Barbie movie so I'm not gonna say anything since I've never watch it but I think that analogy pretty fit for the dolls. because for many of the young girls who play Barbie doll (my young self especially) Ken is just an accessory, he was never a necessary. I have many Barbies back then and zero Ken, I never even think about buying him. My Barbies are just fine the way they are.

Perhaps that was why when he tweeted that I feel a bit sad. Because Adrien wasn't just an eye candy, an accessory for Marinette the way Ken was for my Barbie, he was a character of his own who has a personality and goal... Until the writers said he's not.

"Miraculous : Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir" is a big click bait when the show itself barely do anything with Cat Noir despite the lore is basically all about his family, even more so from season four onward. Marinette? She didn't seems to be bothered by the whole Superhero thing if Transmission showed her that she'd rather left her post as Ladybug and chase her love life than actually stay and collect back the Miraculous like she's supposed to do because she's the Guardian.

At this point the show should either just be called "Miraculous Ladybug" or "Miraculous : Tales of Ladybug and Rena Rouge" because Alya has been promoted from minor support character to deuteragonist since the show's slogan seems to support it what with "The power of love is so strong" and we've seen the power of Alya's love is the final.

I've heard about that tweet. It was not a good look and it came out before the movie, so I don't think it had anything to do with that. If anything, it was a reflection of the marketing for the Barbie movie which had a bunch of character pictures with lines like, "This Barbie is president!" and "This Barbie is a doctor!" While Ken got, "He's just Ken." Which is actually not what the message of the movie was. It was about Ken and Barbie learning to be valid people in their own rights, which is arguably a lesson the love square needs to learn after the disaster of season five.

As a fan of Barbie, Life in the Dream House, I'd be lying if I said that I can't stomach a show that really leans into "Ken's job is to be Barbie's boyfriend," because that is literally the "lesson" of an episode in that show. But even Life in the Dream House understood that Ken needed a personality and talents beyond arm candy if they wanted him to be a main character, which he is. And Barbie clearly respects him, too, which makes the bit work. If she treated him with disdain, then the show would be unwatchable.

Basically, your frustration/anger is valid as I really have no idea what the writing team is trying to do with Adrien. They did not set him up for the kind of role he has in season five. His season five role would make sense if Adrien was just the pretty boy damsel-in-distress that Marinette had been crushing on for five seasons, but he's not. He's a main character with power and agency. It's honestly impressive how much they failed his character because male love interests are rarely treated this poorly in "true" magical girl shows (aka, stuff where the main characters are the girls and the boys have minor supporting roles).

Way to completely ignore my point that IF Sonic remembered the events of Sonic 2006 then there's no reason he couldn't freely share that knowledge with everyone else. It's not like there's any risk of creating a time paradox. This isn't like Dragon Ball where if Goku shares knowledge of Trunks' parentage there's a chance that Bulma and Vegeta wouldn't hook up which would erase Trunks from existence. If Sonic just told Silver "hey when we first met you tried to kill me because you came from a destroyed apocalypse future!" there would be literally zero negative ramifications to literally anything. And it's not really in Sonic's nature to "keep secrets" from his friends especially when there's no reason to do so. He's not exactly a very enigmatic type of guy.

Blaze's dialog in Sonic Generations is much more like what I'd expect to hear from Sonic if he did remember the events of Sonic 06. Blaze says "I never expected to be in Crisis City again" very casually like it ain't a big deal to reference that she's been to Crisis City before. And she doesn't "awkwardly segue into a different conversation topic" either. Why wouldn't Sonic be the same way? Why would he need to hide his knowledge of those previous experiences? What POSSIBLE reason could there be for Sonic to keep a lid on that information?

And again: if Sonic did remember the events of Sonic 06, surely there would be ADDITIONAL proof to indicate that fact? Why is the ONLY evidence to support that conclusion a piece of fourth wall breaking joke dialog from the Japanese version of a spin off kart racing game developed by a completely different studio? That is the most grasping at straws I have ever seen. If Sonic remembered the events of Sonic 2006 then why hasn't that ever been brought up anywhere else anywhere ever?

The condescending tone and nonsequiturial attempt to move the goalposts is extra annoying because a reasonable argument for Sonic remembering the events of Sonic 2006 absolutely exists. The events of those games still HAPPENED, the experience of that story still exists in the characters kokoro

Sonic as a character has a very pure heart and thus would be more sensitive to these lingering deja vu nostalgic feelings based memories, so it is actually REASONABLE to argue that Sonic remembers the events of Sonic 2006 because of that fact. I'm trying to find the tweet where Oshima said Sonic can communicate with any language because of his kokoro but I can't locate it lol whatever.

There's also the fact that Sonic is a very meta character who is aware of the 4th wall

Sonic references the fact that he's in a video game constantly.

You could argue that Sonic knows about the events of Sonic 06 because he read the script and... Yeah. That wouldn't be invalid as an argument.

But instead of those arguments which would be based on sincere analysis and acknowledgement of consistent portrayals and themes of the franchise, we're going to hang the entire theory on a piece of joke dialog from the Japanese version of a racing spin off game that wasn't developed by Sonic Team. "Hey." A voice catches your attention. You look in front of you and see a black car with its window rolled down, Scaramouche in the driver's seat.

"Hi, Scara!" You smile at him innocently, walking closer to the car.

"Get inside, we'll be late if we don't go right now." He demands of you.

"Ah, that's not how you treat your date." You tease, snickering silently.

He groans, "Fine, stay there for me, alright?" Without a second thought, he rushes out of the car with a bouquet of roses in his hand. 

"Would this suffice?" He shows you red roses, hiding his red face behind them. 

"You're adorable, Scara." You say as you open your camera app and swiftly taking a picture of him.

"Wh- hey! Delete that." He says, the blush on his face increasing.

"No! You're very very cute." You say, opening twitter to flex your very very cute date.

"Here." Scaramouche utters as he opens the door of his car, inviting you in.

"Why, thank you, my charming knight." You say some pet name dramatically, he shouldn't be even blushing about, yet he finds himself as red as a tomato. You chuckle at his expression, why so red, hmm?

"Say, Scara. How far is Liyue?" You ask. From what you know, Liyue's not that far from where you live.

"An hour or so." He answers you, keeping his eyes on the road.

"Oh, alright." As you look at your surroundings, you take an interest at the sunset view that can be found in the sky, more specifically, the one behind Scaramouche. You couldn't lie, he was breathtaking. His features are adorned by the sky's soft glow. Entrancing.

"Take a picture, it lasts longer." He snaps you out of your daydream. 

"Alright." Within seconds, you take a picture of the alluring driver and the sunset.

"What- I meant that as a joke." He clears up.

"Well, I don't."

"Woah." You say out of surprise.

"What?" He asks, still looking at the road.

"Kaveh and Alhaitham are gay and dating." You tell him.

"Really?" He's taken aback. From what he sees on his timeliness, Kaveh wants to date you. Was that some practical joke?

"Yeah… I feel embarrassed." You confess. You genuinely didn't know they were dating.

"Why?" 

"Scara, have you SEEN my tweets? It's literally me wanting to date Alhaitham." You hide your face in the bouquet He gave you.

"It's fine, get over it." He tries to comfort you.

"Well, that's fine, I guess." 

For the rest of the car ride to Liyue, you were both silent. It wasn't awkward though. The car was wrapped in a comfortable atmosphere, you didn't feel the need to talk or do anything. You felt like you could sleep.

(timeskip; 6:04 PM, Liyue Harbour)

Turns out, you did sleep. 

"Hey, wake up. We're here." Scaramouche gently sways you awake, your eyes fluttering open as you hear the many citizens of the Harbour chatting away.

"Oh, wow! It's beautiful at night here. I wonder what they did for the Lantern rite this year." You say.

"I heard they're doing a music festival." He informs you, straightening his jacket.

"Ohh, cool." You quickly get out of the car, leaving your roses in your seat. You're excited to go into the Harbour, it’s been quite a while since you've last visited. 

"Hey, wait, [Name]." Scaramouche says, catching your attention once again.

"Yes?" He comes closer to you and fixes your collar and such because it was messed up while you were sleeping. You couldn't help but notice the close proximity of you two, inches away from each other's face.

"There, you're more presentable." So cocky.

"Shut up, Raiden." You were annoyed, but didn't care so much. You didn't care, you were used to his antics.

"Ah, last name basis now, are we? You hurt me." Was he an actor or something? If so, he'd better quit his job 'cause his skills were second to anyone.

"You suck at being dramatic." You say, trying to hide your already obvious laughter.

"Whatever. Do you know where we're going?" He asks.

"No?"

"Well then, keep your pretty eyes open and try not to fall behind." 

"Hmm, you think my eyes are pretty?" You ask mischievously. 

"You're a nuisance." He insults you. He grabs your hand and pulls you into the crowds of people on Lantern rite.

To say that the music festival was amazing is an understatement. You met Aether and Yun Jin among the many people watching Xinyan and Hu Tao's performance. It was spectacular. 

The person from Fontaine was magnificent as well. The sweet melody the people played, along with a zither from nowhere, worked with perfect harmony. It was a night unforgettable to all.

"The fireworks were beautiful! It was like seeing the prettiest person alive for the first time. So colorful and lively." You describe the alluring fireworks in the sky, still sprouting out arrays of color. 

"It sure does. Let's explore Liyue for a bit, yes?" He invites you to roam the city of lanterns. You accept, wanting to see more.

Liyue is at its finest this year. Kids running around the streets, vendors selling Xiao lanterns, and the aroma of food in the air. An extraordinary sight to see, really.

"Scara, let's buy a lantern. We write our names on it!" You suggest, already pulling out money from your wallet.

"Alright." With a simple answer such as that, you drag him to the other side of the street where they sell lanterns.

"Hello!" You greet the vendor.

"Ah, hello, dear. Would you like to buy a lantern? It will give you and your boyfriend prosperity and luck." She says with a smile while both you and Scaramouche turn red. How could she make such an assumption?

"Yes, we'd like to buy a lantern. We're not dating though, haha." You awkwardly say, scratching your head.

"Oh? I'm sorry, dear. It's just that friends don't hold each other’s hands so much around here." She explains, giving you your Xiao lantern. You didn't realize your hand was still intertwined with his. You remove yours from his embrace, giving the money to the vendor.

"It's quite alright. Thank you!" You get your lantern and wave goodbye.

"She was nice." You say, trying to get rid of the uncomfortable atmosphere.

"Here." Scaramouche says, handing you a permanent marker. Why the hell does he have this?

"Oh, thanks." You thank him, getting the marker from his hand, brushing it in the process. You write both of your names on the lantern, making sure it's readable.

"...Alright. We can- uhm, set it free?" You stutter, having a hard time phrasing what you want to say. Though, you managed to make Scaramouche laugh, so that was good.

You go to a secluded area where you can freely set your lantern out. "1…2…3…go." You let go of the flaming light. It floats up, your names quite visible on the lantern.

You and Scaramouche have tired yourselves out, running around Liyue and trying out splendid food. You both sit down on an empty bench.

"...Hey, Scara?" You call for his attention.

"Yes?" He turns to look at you, giving you his undivided attention.

"Why did you leave before?" Oh.

"..." He stayed silent. He felt guilty, leaving you with no goodbye, no reason. It was wrong and he knew, yet he didn't do anything about it.

"It's alright if you don't want to say anything, the last thing I want to do is make you feel uncomfy." You reassure him, even though it meant not getting your wanted answers.

“No, it’s ok. We moved away to Snezhnaya because Ei thought it would give us a better life there. It did the complete opposite, it was a hellsite. Always snowed, even if it was summer. And the people there don’t come close to the weather. There was always going to be someone fighting because of something stupid like parking their cars a foot from their house… Ah, sorry for rambling, haha.” He quickly apologized. You didn’t care though, you got your answer.

“No, it’s alright. So, why didn’t you say anything to me?” You ask another question once more.

“I didn’t want to upset you or anything. I know how sad you’d be if I told you I’d be moving, I wasn’t thinking then.” He explains, his voice getting quieter, as if he was ashamed. He looked at his shoes, afraid to look at you. Why was he scared? Just then, he felt your arms wrap around him.

“Scara, it’s not your fault.” 

“I know, but-”

“No buts. It’s not your fault and it will never be, alright? You were young, you didn’t know what you were thinking.”

“You didn’t deserve thinking that I left you for no reason.” He says.

“I might have not, but I also don’t like seeing you saying it’s your fault for leaving. You were a kid, you had no choice but to follow your mother, alright?” You whisper, pulling apart. 

"Ok…" Thank you, [Name].

This may sound bad, but I don't think the loaning money story is that bad. Like you have pjms and armys out here relating it to face off and the clip of him talking about feeling like he had to pay for his friends when he was younger but I don't think it likely affected him that much. The amount loaned is probably 1% of what he makes every year, I think fans forget how much money bts/jimin has because they don't really act like they're wealthy. Jimin donates this amount often and has watches and earrings worth more. The most likely story to me is that a respected sunbaenim with whom he has mutual friends came to him and asked him for money to help his parents. I feel like if Jimin was actually close with this person, he wouldn't have received a loan agreement, thankfully he did, and he would have given the money as a gift. I doubt this event emotionally affected jimin the way people are implying it did by using all these clips of him in the past. Jimins net worth is probably 50-100 million dollars, he is not gonna miss 75,000 dollars. He probably wasn't happy about it, but I don't think he went and wrote, "gave you all my money, gave you all my heart" afterward.

It doesn't sound wrong; it's what think of the whole thing as well. It's not bad at all, and getting scammed is not an insult at all.

He even said okay, you can't pay me now so you can do it in 10 years time. Someone who really needs their money back won't wait 10 years for it.

So, yeah. I won't really be talking anymore about this because it's not an issue at all. He lent money, he didn't get it back because the other end has serious problems. That's really all there is to it. It's not like we know this was a super close friend, or another BTS member with a gambling addiction, or like the man used the money for some terrible crime(s). I decided to watch Void Paradox

I'm about five minutes into the first episode and I'm still not entirely sure if this is a good idea or not, but Laurance has already spoken like three lines of dialogue and I felt my heart wrench at just one of them, so clearly I'm in too deep now.

This post serves as my live tweeting/mental break down that I am currently having as we speak. It is very incomprehensible because it is literally just my thoughts as they happen, and given how much I have to say, I'll probably make proper posts out of a lot of these points once I finish the series.

This mess is just giving you a taste of the madness I truly posses.

I am only three minutes in before I have to pause and feel the urge to scream about how bad the dialogue in Aphmau series can be. Like this series is fairly okay, especially based on the standard set by her other shows but man... something is just not working here. The whole thing feels very clunky and while I can get the gist of what Jess is going for, the execution of said gist is leaving a lot to be desired.

Literally nobody talk to me I need to scream about Laurance Zvahl because he is EVERYTHING in this series. The way he very softly says Aph's name when he sees her, the immediate instinct to hug her because he's so relieved to see her, the fact that you can hear the smile in his voice the minute he registers that she's there and alive!! AUGH I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!

And I literally screamed when he revealed that he was transported to this AU right at the end of season 1. Oh my Irene, I screamed. I collapsed. I was truly defeated by a single line of dialogue. I don't know where this series is going to go but I am here for it. And the fact that he knows Garroth did it and hid it from her???

I can't overstate how genuinely healing it is to hear Laurance fully voice acted. I know Sebastian Todd is retired from voice acting, but when he retired, he took down all his posts, including what I considered to be a comfort video. That video of him reading iconic Laurance lines from before he was in mcd/lines he just didn't act? That video was my everything when I was trying to hold onto this version of the character I knew I loved who was different to what Jess made him. When that video got taken down it was a major cowabummer bc there's so little properly voice acted Laurance content that isn't mcd Season 3 or My Street stuff (and I can't stand My Street like 80% of the time)

Hearing his voice, hearing him get to be properly expressive, it's just doing things to me man. I missed this character a lot. I've mostly been enjoying him through fan content or my own work. It's nice to say I enjoy a piece of canon content involving him, at least so far.

Still not sure how I feel about literally anything else. The whole relationship between Aph and Tommy feels very... weird. She describes herself as "basically his mother" after she's left with him, and treats him like it in the opening scene. But then when he's mocking her for being attracted to Laurance (so relatable), it seems really weird for a [checks wiki] 14 year old kid to be calling out his mom for finding someone hot. Feels a lot more like sibling dialogue to me? Which I guess they could be seen as siblings, but the series explicitly stated that she views it like motherhood??? But I don't think Jess is even thinking that deeply about it, I just over analyze her work for fun at this point.

Okay what the actual fuck is going on with the inside of this house???

Why is the color scheme purple and yellow? And not in any kind of flattering way which is possible with opposite colors, it just has both of them. The wallpaper changes when you get into the living room except not entirely on the windows, and in an earlier scene it looked like it wasn't even put onto all of the walls. And the wood that she used as supports just does not compliment either of these colors as they are. Just make it all purple, you know you want to Jess.

Also is the texture on the table and the glass the same??? I don't know a damn thing about modding or making texture/data packs for minecraft but that just seems. odd.

I really truly try not to be mean to people for no good reason on this blog, but this theory is literally one of the stupidest fucking things I've ever seen in my entire life. Showbear is not a character in The Walten Files anymore. Showbear was fully retconned and is never going to appear in the series again. He was effectively just a cameo of ThunderingStatic's (one of Martin's friends) OC, but when The Walten Files blew up and people started assuming Showbear was Martin's character, Static decided to withdraw his character from the series and focus putting him in other projects.

The moment the opposite is proven, they'll be thrown in prison and whatever career they have kind of end there. Now I don't know about any other kpop group but I do know that in no world BTS will go to a place like that, which we know dang well stress them out and they want it to be over as soon as possible, and make two of them who are supposedly a couple, enlist, while they plan on coming back as a group. This is a risky and stupid move. A big one at that.

So... the translation on X says "a page of youth and romance". I did read in the comments that it can be translated as "bromance" though.. which falls in line with what we've seen I think. My Korean is level zero, so I'm always hesitant when it comes to these things.

Your "feeding" actually inspired my former post about Jm and Jk feeding Jkkrs. I think we've all been talking a lot about fanservice, feeding, real connections, company content, etc.. a lot these last couple of months. No wonder with one side of fandom wanting the JmJk travel show to be a romantic private getaway, and the rest of us seeing that this wasn't that. I mean, there's obviously a team with them, plans were made.. there is no way around that.

I think what's most likely, is that Jm thought about what he wanted to do for army. Somehow the idea of doing a travel show with Jk reëntered his thoughts, he got excited, Jk got excited, the company got real excited and made it happen. That's not a bad thing. It does not undermine their friendship if this is what happened. Things can easily be two things at once. So this being for army doesn't mean Jk and Jm aren't also actually close. It being recorded inbetween Jk's promo is perhaps ill timing, but it's also still very possible that Jk really wanted to do it. He loves Jm (platonically.. don't get excited Jkk lurkers), he loves doing stuff for army, he's a hard worker. I think that literally is it.

Now the company involvement is a different thing ofcourse. Because we know they don't shy away from editing stuff a certain way and adding captions that might be suggestive. I think the company definitely plays into shipping and shipping wars.

I mean, as Tkkrs we don't really expect content like this. It's the same way I never expected Jk and Tae to enlist together the way Jm and Jk did. There's just boundaries to what they can do, we know that. Aside from Jkk shenaniganse, I love that Jm and Jk enlisted together. I think they are such a huge source of comfort to each other, and I think knowing they would go together probably soothed some of the unease they were feeling while preparing for this.

saw Dune 2 (2une?), and since I don't have my dune blog anymore I'll post here, since blah blah this is my place for posting about Dynastic Weirdos. This is long but NO MAJOR SPOILERS, except about like, small detail things that aren't plot things but whatever

Tbh it was disappointing. It had all the correct elements to be liked but one thing grated on me the whole time...the Bad Dialogue and lack of Elevated Speech! Why the hell were all these characters saying stuff like "these guys" "we're ok" and "literally" it took me out of the fantastical world sOOO bad. Super bummer because what I loved about Dune 1 (D-uno?) As someone who went into it before reading or knowing anything was how much it didn't explain, how it let the visuals and the world unfold before you, and how serious and somber it was in a way that gave it a sense of scale and time.

I can only wonder if WB saw all the complaints and tweets about people being like "we didn't understand the first movie!!! It wasn't funny and quippy!!!" And decided to simplify it down so characters just SAY things really obviously and inelegantly. The writing has some competence in moving the story forward but there's no poetry or rhythm to the way characters say things, it's serving "Rings of Power" scriptwriting to me lmao. And it's not like any of the actors are bad? I've seen them do well in the previous movie and in other things, so wtf was going on with the direction. I know people complained Abt Villeneuve saying that whole thing about being more into visuals than dialogue but maybe he was right...there needed to be LESS WORDS. bc much of the words we had were NOT GOOD.

Positivity: the middle and latter part was where the movie picked up for me. The Harkonnen Freak Villain behavior was everything I could have wanted! Finally instead of EXPLAINING everything obviously we got to see a LOT of character building, for Feyd specifically in a very short amount of time. I know a lot of us complained about Bald Feyd-Rautha but Mr Elvis did a very good job. And we got Madame Fenring and weird scifi femdomming finally, which is Essential for the Duniverse! Wonderful fantastic no notes.

Of course, getting back to our heroes, I anticipated this 2 years ago sadly and it was true...the Fremen were badass but SWAGLESS. More Learned ppl have already written about the frustration with the erasure of the Arabic/North African cultural presence so I won't reiterate that here since I'm not super knowledgeable about the specifics of that but even as a casual watcher there was a weird emptiness to the way I feel the society was portrayed. There were individual good character moments, such as fun bantering among the Fedaykin etc, but for Pacing or Whatever they cut out the community aspects that served to make them feel more like well, a People rather than just either Grizzled Soldiers/ Religious Fundamentalists aka Marks/Panicked refugees. I have to guess this was ppl were like "we can't show a culture too cool and colorful and the part with Harrah (Jamis' widow) would feel too ORIENTALIST!!! But the result is something sadly very dry. At least in more older orientalist works, the interest comes from when the ~exotic~ stereotypes figures are able to have charming personalities and personalities and be known as people despite the cliches sometimes but this sadly wasn't even like that....

Jamis' funeral is a good example of this; in the Book, it's a moment where you first get a good look of what rituals are like in this world, and how people relate to each other and to the dead. In the movie, the funeral is looks more foreign and even a little creepy as the water is extracted from the body. There's not really a Personal or community connection aspect to it at all.

The ending was pretty good as it satisfied all the Cool Dune Moments I think we all wanted to see, and also did literally the end of The Godfather Part 1 Framing which was hee hee heh. Anyways, Messiah is MY favorite book of the series personally so curious how they get to that.

Maybe I've been too spoiled by Cool Historical Fiction lately? I've been watching too much of The Devil's Crown where action happens mostly off screen but the dynastic drama is written and acted so compellingly, the historical mindset and setting so alien and yet so human and relatable, it's frustrating to see when works try to do the opposite? Idk??? Dune books themselves is fun in how action is mostly an "offscreen, offstage"' thing.

*if ANYONE in the Universe is a quippy Bastard, it should be Leto II esp in God Emperor where he literally has nothing to do all day but quip all day to terrified acolytes

I’d say Chris is a legitimate source; if he claims they are together then that’s the fact (whatever his way of statements have been), and it being a contract/stunt is the conjecture. Not the opposite. //

BUT HE HAS NEVER CLAIMED ANYTHING, that's the kicker. Even when he posted the video dumps, no where did he claim to be with her, but rather heart emojis and the year that was. Every word that he said during the SMA contradicted the actions that proceeded into the whole pap walk. Remember how he likes PDA? There is literally no where he has showed an ounce of affection for that girl, even in those videos. They are just cringe stuff that he has done with every random person he knows,just to paint a narrative.. just enough to creat a story but with enough room for deniability. Another little thing that people forget is , People magazine also reached out to sources and NOTHING was CONFIRMED. The same magazine that interviewed him before the public launch and claimed that if he was in a relationship he would say it himself. Just Jared coming out with a story before the dumps that was quickly deleted.

Now if liking posts is a confirmation of relationship then that man has been in a relationship with a lot of women.

My point is, even Chris is not a source. Because he has not said anything about them being together. Yet when he was with Jenny Slate,it was CONFIRMED by HIS people , with Minka it was CONFIRMED by HIS people.

But let's look at his recent activities, when he speaks when events have nothing to do with her. He has said that Dodger is his true partner, just recently at a Walmart event, he said that a dog gives you what no other relationship with a human can and again right before he deactivated, he said how good it feels to be ALONE. I don't know anything about that man or more than what is speculated about him on SM, but that doesn't sound like a man is in a happy and healthy relationship. That doesn't even sound like a man in a happy place at the moment IMO.

Food for thought, didn't anyone notice the timing of all this. The public launch aka pap walk was right on the day of WN series premiere and Chris deactivated right after Netflix released WN to be picked up by another service. What did Simon Barry do on that fateful day of the pap walk, he tweeted, "he could do this all day." He also seemed very proud that WN did so well with little marketing. And just recently,what did he tell his WN minions, that the show has been renewed even though that is clearly a white lie.

I don't know if the fact that it wasn't confirmed means something. I think that's usually how it goes with these types of articles: when a "source" talks about something rather than the people involved.

I always loved the scare videos with Scott because they were genuine and funny, but theirs with Alba was neither.

I agree that he doesn't talk about things like being super in love and being in an almost 2-year relationship. I'd get it if they were in a super secret or private relationship; however, they aren't. They did a pap walk, and he's shared several stories about their relationship. I'm not saying he would talk about her or mention her name all the time, but I think he would phrase a lot of things differently.

The fact that he was Captain America had nothing to do with what Justin's father was talking about. We know Chris Evans is dating Alba, and I'm pretty sure people know he played Captain America. It was all for the show.
