Just to add on to your point about Jimmy's violence, I think it also says a lot that Jimmy tied Swansea up before murdering him. He also commits those violent acts when he knows that the victim is vulnerable and can't fight back. It's a familiar pattern he sticks to as a whole especially the points you mentioned, he's a total coward through and through.

I think what’s also crazy about Swansea’s case is that it shows how he has to dehumanize the person in his head to feel like he has power. Like he feels genuine guilt over him and Daisuke’s death cause they never stopped being real people in his eyes. He actually listens to what Swansea says before killing him and it like fucks with his head. In every way he’s like a monster who’s afraid of the light, needing to lurk in shadows and blind spots cause he’s scared of being seen.

No matter how much he tried to do to Swansea what he does to Anya and Curly, he can’t. Swansea saw him for who he was always and he hated it.

It scared him.
