It's killing me that he is still flirting with her and yeah, it's a flirty joke, but throughout the season he has been desperately trying to get an answer to the question "who do you want to spend your life with?". At least now he was bold enough to ask directly if she has feelings for him, though it's too late.

And I love that she defends Fangfeng Bei and also that she doesn't pretend that what they had wasn't real.

And one can tell he is dying inside with every word of hers. Because he killed that part of him, that joyful, flirty, teasing part that could start a life with her. And everything she says it's true, he can't deny it. But the more she talks about how great FFB was, the more he feels pain for his loss, for what could have been.

“You are still a stubborn demon,” she said, but leaned close to his face and kissed his lips, lending him precious oxygen. When she pulled away, she stroked his cheek and they slowly reached the surface. Maoqiu was flying overhead as they floated still in each other’s arms.

“Then, you should still be afraid of me,” he teased her. “Who knows? I might creep into your dreams and turn them into nightmares.”

She brushed aside a strand of hair that clung to his face. “I am only afraid of one thing. Losing you.”

“You will never lose me again.” He craved her lips with a fervent hunger.

“You are so beautiful when you are angry,” she said. “Like an angel. You should look like the devil, but you look like an angel. How do you do that? That is why I don’t like you when you are mad at me. Because I can’t resist you.”

Xiang Liu was breathing heavily now, his chest falling and rising fast, the look on his face indiscernible.

“I could look at you forever,” she continued. “I want to kiss you here,” she pointed to his cheek, “and here,” her fingers landed on his lips, “and here,” her fingers traced the naked part of his chest that was visible out of his robe. “I want to kiss you everywhere. And I want you to kiss me too.”

He gulped. Fury and confusion meshed in his eyes.

She leaned and planted a kiss on his neck, but he grabbed her arms and pulled his head away from hers.

“What do you want? Why are you teasing me like this?”

“I am not teasing you; I really want to kiss you!”

“I can’t do this, you are not yourself. I’ll see you in the morning.”

He pushed her back on the bed and turned to leave.

“I lied that night,” she shouted.

He stopped.

“You know which night I am referring to. The one you asked me why I didn’t want to kiss you.”
