Description: Jack and Sara are getting tired of Brezziana and Mihaly's pretty clear feelings for eachother, so they planned a date for them. But, 2 henchmen of Night Swan's come to attack

Here we see the Danceverse 5's house, where everyone is just doing their usual things. Brezziana just got done recording a fitness video with the help of Mihaly

"Thanks, Mi!" Brezziana thanked

"No problem!" Mihaly replied "Just know, if you ever want to record more videos, I'm always here to help!"

"I know, I should've asked you for help, sooner. Could've saved me all that money I've spent on those buckets. They break easily."

"I know! I'm surprised those things last a week, cause it seems like every 2 days, they break"

"Oh my God! Tell me about it! Thankfully, unlike the other buckets, you'll never break!"

They just blushed and said "Aw, thanks!"

She blushed back and said "Don't mention it!" Then, they back in their own rooms to do their average activities

"They could've kissed right there, and no one would've been surprised." Jack said to Sara

"Thank you!" Sara yelled "It seems like they're the only two who aren't aware of eachother feelings. Everyone we've met, even the ones we've just met, already knew that they love each other. Even Picto knew, AND I STILL DON'T KNOW HOW Y'ALL WERE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH THEM!!"

"There has to be a way to make them see their true feelings towards one another" Jack said. They were just standing in the kitchen, thinking of ways to get Mihaly and Brezziana to see their true feelings, then it hit them

"You thinking what I'm thinking?" Sara asked

"Strawberry and Blueberry Ice Cream?" Jack asked back

"No- actually, that does sound good, but, the Brezziana and Mihaly thing"

"Oh, yeah. I know"

"We set them up on a date to the mall!" They said at the same time

"I don't know if that's a good idea" Wanderlust said

"Oh, come on Wander! Aren't you tired of them being clearly in love with eachother." Sara asked him

"Oh, no. Not on that front" Wanderlust replied "If anything, I could encourage this plan because it seems like even when you pair them up on missions, they still can't see their feelings for eachother. But, Night Swan has henchmen and minions looking all throughout any and every place we've gone and planned to go. Just be careful, okay"

4 hours later

"Hey, Brezzy! You wanna go to the mall?" Sara asked Brezziana

"What for?" Brezziana asked back

"Well, there's an arcade that opened up, and Jack and Wander aren't interested"

"Can Mi come?"

"Oh, I think they have other things to do"

Brezziana gave out an dejected sigh "Okay, I'll go"

Meanwhile

"Hey, Mihaly. I need a new pink fur to add on the closet of pink fur, but I don't know which shade of pink I need and Sara and Wander will just say "There all the same", can you come to the mall and help me?" Jack asked them

"Can Brezzy come with us?" They asked back

"I think she's got other things going on" Jack replied

They gave out a dejected sigh "Okay, I'll come"

2 hours later

Brezziana walked in the mall and looked around for Sara, but then stopped when she saw Mihaly

"Oh, hey Mi!" She said

"Hey, Brezzy!" They said back "What brings you here?"

"Oh, Sara told me about the new arcade, and we were supposed to play some games, but I don't see her anywhere. What about you?"

"Well, Jack said he needed a new pink fur, but how am I supposed to figure out which one if he's not here?"

"Well, we can do some stuff while we wait for them"

They blushed and said "Okay. Well, that new arcade sounds cool, let's go there"

She blushed back and said "Okay. Let's go." As they walked into the arcade

Sara and Jack were hiding behind the plant in the mall kiosk

"Wow! I can't believe they actually came!" Sara said

"I know, you know the plan?" Jack asked

"Yeah. They go out, play some games in the arcade, grow closer, go the the diner in there, fall in love, and we won't have to deal with their pining ever again"

"Yep!" They then heard the door chime as two mysterious people walked in

"Are you sure those the two in that picture?" The mysterious voice asked

"Yes, I'm sure" The other mysterious voice answered

"Okay. You know the plan?"

"Get those two, take them back to Night Swan, and she'll transform those two into her very own minions"

Those words set Jack and Sara off as they realized what that ment

"Holy shit, Night Swan sent some henchmen to kidnap Brezziana and Mihaly!" Sara said quietly, they looked up to see what they look like. There was a Giraffe with a monocle and a big Bowtie, and a Cat with a visor, a cape, and his weapon is a keyboard. They walked into the diner Brezziana and Mihaly went in

"Man, when do you think Jack and Sara would get here?" Brezziana asked Mihaly

"I don't know, but I'm kinda glad they aren't" Mihaly replied "I' just glad it's just us-" Mihaly was about to say before they were interrupted by a musical note that was slashed into their table

"WHO WAS THAT?!?" Brezziana asked, they then turned around and looked up and saw a Giraffe and Cat standing in front of them

"I am Giraffus and this is Keys. We've been sent to kidnap you for Night Swan" Giraffus introduced themselves before they fought. Brezziana blocked Giraffus attack and punched his snout

"Ow! My snout! You will pay!"

"Don't worry, bro! I got you!" Keys said as they pushed Brezziana back with his musical notes

"I'll take the fitness chick, you get the shaman"

"Good plan"

They just fought for another 5 minutes until Brezziana grabbed her Protein shake and quickly drank all of it

Mihaly put their hands on Giraffus

"Ultimate Zen; Force Palm!"

That's all they said as the force of that attack pushed Giraffus away and flew across to the wall

"Bro!" Keys yelled "After I'm done with you, that Shaman is next! Then, y'all can kiss in the heavens!"

"Wouldn't count on that!" Brezzy said as she buffs up from the protein shake

Keys has a surprised look on his face as Brezziana said "Shining Fist!" And she punched him and he flew across to the wall, landing on Giraffus as they both fell off the wall

"Whew! That was a doozy!" Brezziana said

"I know!" Mihaly said "Hey." Brezziana turned around

"You fight well."

"OH COME ON!" Sara and Jack yelled at the same time

"You heard that Brezzy?" They asked

"Yeah, it sounds like it came over there" She said as they went over to that plant and saw Sara and Jack under it

"Sara? Jack? What y'all doing there?" Brezziana asked

"We, uh... We got lost over here" Sara replied

"Well, y'all missed our fight. We kicked a Giraffe and Cat's ass!"

"Yeah, that sounds like a lot" Jack said

"Well, come on. Let's go to the arcade!"

"Can I come with? I think I got enough pink fur." Jack asked

"Sure, let's go." Brezziana said as her, Jack, Sara, and Mihaly went to the arcade

Background info

A lot of lore comes from posts the offical JD accounts make on social media, and there's a lot of open-ended plotlines at the moment.

Most of the story/maps take place in The Danceverses, a collection of ten planets with their own unique themes and inhabitants. It's completely separate from Earth, since two of the characters are canonically humans that got pulled into the game.

There's a mystical energy called The Flow that's generated by dancing, and some people can harness it as magic

Before the official story modes started, there was some lore laid out in 2022 Edition. Levitating, Rock Your Body, and Save Your Tears feature a pair of deities named The Traveler and Si'ha Nova. They're considered the King and Queen of the Danceverses

The Traveler and Si'ha Nova have a son named Wanderlust. Wanderlust has a floating discoball for a friend, named Discoball. Wanderlust and Discoball are also capable of crossing over to Earth, as is The Traveler.

Story Modes crash course

The first story mode is called Enter The Danceverses, from 2023 Edition.

Wanderlust meets a human woman named Sara, and pulls her into the Danceverses. They spend some time traveling around to the song Can't Stop The Feeling, meeting four other coaches along the way: Liza Friday (Last Friday Night), P2 of Temperature, P2 of Sweet Sensation, and P3 of I Like It. At the end of the song, an evil witch named Night Swan appears

Turns out, Night Swan wants to take over the world by possessing people. She turns them into swan-like minions who must obey her every command. Which is what she does to the four coaches I just named, in the song Witch. More on Night Swan's background later as the fandom is in a buzz over it. I'll also mention, Night Swan has a son named Jack Rose.

To stop Night Swan, Wanderlust and Sara recruit two other coaches to help them: Brezziana, the coach of Physical; and Mihaly, the coach of Rather Be. Brezziana is an influencer, and Mihaly is a shaman. Physical features Brezziana in a mall, hyping people up with song and dance. Rather Be features Mihaly dancing with their mentor figure, Master Panda. Like I said, pandas are very important.

The last person they approach is Jack, after he dances to the song Locked Out Of Heaven. Jack is an incredibly popular performer, and was about to appear on-stage mere minutes before Wanderlust and his crew showed up to recruit him. Which leads to the song Majesty...

Majesty opens with Wanderlust and Jack briefly dance-battling, as the floor below them rises up to an auditorium. Night Swan then possesses everyone in the crowd, including Wanderlust, while Jack watches in utter shock and horror. The song then cuts to Mihaly and Brezziana freeing people from Night Swan's clutches, specifically the four that Wanderlust and Sara met in Can't Stop The Feeling. The song then cuts to Sara confronting Night Swan. Sara manages to defeat her, causing her to flee for the moment.

Discoball and Wanderlust help free the rest of the crowd from Night Swan's control, and everyone dances to an Ubisoft original song called If You Wanna Party. Sara then returns to Earth!

And then we get to 2024 Edition, which is called Dance With The Swan

Wanderlust opens with the song Canned Heat, which shows him in his home having a good time. His friends all make cameos throughout the routine, including Sara while she's at Earth. At the very end, Wanderlust visits Sara again, handing Discoball over to her. But it turns out, that Sara was a trap! It was an illusion from Night Swan! She possesses Discoball and proceeds to target the real Sara, dragging her back into the Danceverses.

This leads to the song You Should See Me In A Crown, where Sara tries to fend off Night Swan by herself. Night Swan manages to possess her, turning her into Night Sara before targeting Wanderlust's other friends.

Brezziana, while working as a lifeguard on a beach, fends off Night Swan's dark magic to the song Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You). She succeeds in keeping everyone there safe, and joins Wanderlust when he calls her for help.

Mihaly reflects to the song Never Be Like You, after tearing a poster of Night Swan off their bedroom wall. With Master Panda in mind, Mihaly temporarily takes the form of a panda. However, Night Swan interrupts their dance and forces them to snap out of it, right before Wanderlust asks for their help with Sara.

Wanderlust then attempts to contact Jack, but Night Swan is able to shut him away from her son. She then shows Jack a mirage of who he could be if he chooses to side with her again, to the song Treasure. Jack is seemingly mesmerized by this mirage temporarily, and isn't able to join Wanderlust and friends.

Wanderlust, Brezziana, and Mihaly all confront Night Sara to a gritty cover of Swan Lake. And they all get possessed by Night Swan. At the last second, Mihaly sends a magic projection to Jack, snapping him back to his senses and showing him what happened to his friends.

The Night Dancers all dance to a cover of Tainted Love, sailing away with Night Swan. Jack arrives too late to stop them from leaving. And that's where Story Mode is at for now! Until 2025 Edition comes out!

Granted there's a leaked song featuring Jack (?) in a completely different outfit, set to Lose Yourself. And by god they better release it soon it is AMAZING

Night Swan's Backstory

We don't know all the details, but two songs were recently released about her past. One of them was originally supposed to be set to Sweet Dreams, but was changed to an original Ubisoft song called Darkest Hour.

Night Swan used to be a human named Leda Nox, who was brought to the Danceverses by The Traveler. The two share a dance to Murder On The Dancefloor, and Leda appears to want to stay in the Danceverses. Darkest Hour features her some time later, perhaps around when she descended into villainy.

It's possible that The Traveler might be Jack's dad (rip Jacklust shippers), but they've recently been teasing us about other possible candidates so nothing's confirmed about that quite yet.

Subplots (not all of them)

Night Swan imprisoned almost all of the Lady Gaga coaches. We don't exactly know why, but she did. However, they all escape to the song Telephone, led by a woman named Louise Dials and her backup crew. The other coaches are Adameve (Born This Way), Claire Obscure (Bad Romance), Jane Wayne (John Wayne), Shadow Rider (Judas), Aro'Ha (Stupid Love), Indra (Rain On Me), and Countess Butterfly (Applause). The only Gaga coach not featured here is a witch named Felicia, from Bloody Mary. Partially because Bloody Mary came out after Telephone, and partially because it's dubiously canon that Felicia is in cahoots with Night Swan.

There's another witch from the song Boss Witch (a cover of Boss Bitch), and Bloody Mary's map takes place in her manor. When Felicia dances, all the pictures of Boss Witch in the background are replaced with various cats from other routines (Kulikitaka and Kitchen Kittens).

Kulikitaka's coach is named Kitta. Aside from her and the pandas, there's also a reindeer named Rudolf and an unnamed DJ alpaca. Among other anthropomorphic coaches. They're a normal part of Danceversal life.

Rasputin and The Bride have been shown as a couple in multiple songs (background of Last Friday Night, playable coaches in Sugar). They were even supposed to get married, but something happened that caused Rasputin to be late to the ceremony. We don't know what it was yet. The Bride, however, panicked since she's already been abandoned at the altar before. She dances to Sweet But Psycho, destroys the venue, and leaves. Rasputin arrives late, realizes what's happened, and vows to make amends. Which he does by dancing to I Am My Own Muse by Fall Out Boy. Yes they made Rasputin emo.

There's been multiple superheroes that have been shown in prior games. Three to note are the Without Me trio: Hairman, Phone Girl, and Pool Man. They're shown fighting Pasta Man, Waveman, and Amanita. Amanita has a map of her own, an Extreme version of Without Me. They all dance together to My Name Is (the D Billions version, no way in hell is the Eminem version making it into the game). There's also Mr. Overload, who is also known as Rick Roll. Yes that is his name. I'll let you guess which song he's in.

The songs Good 4 U and Thank U, Next feature two girls named Ari and Grace. Ari and Grace are canonically in a relationship and dance to the song Vampire.

There's a Danceversal competition called The Showdown, where every verse sends a representative to compete. One of these reps was Cygnus, representing Eternyx. His map, Beggin', reveals that he works with Night Swan.

Cygnus built a clock-tower that has the ability to bend space and time. Two coaches, Blake and Liv, are trapped in that tower for unknown reasons. They dance to the song Bring Me To Life about it.

One of the Danceverses is called the Melosia Realms. In this verse lies the Sea of Melos, which is ruled by a man named Triton. Triton is married to Calypso, who rules the land while he rules the sea. The two dance to the song Provenza.

The song Provenza has ties to Black Mamba (featuring three snake goddesses) and Human (featuring someone named The Forgotten Queen), although we don't know what the tie is yet. Human is also tied to the song Sail, which features a pirate named Captain Crimson. Captain Crimson is also in the song Jump In The Line, with his lover Plum. The two were hunting for something called the Skull Cavern, which is where they met the Forgotten Queen. And we don't know exactly what happened in there, but it's haunted Captain Crimson ever since.

On a completely different note, the song New World features a CEO named Nithe Long. Her company, Long Inc., was collecting massive amounts of information on people and storing it in a virtual world called the Virtualscape. Two people, Freyja and Clementine, confronted Nithe about this. So she locked them in the Virtualscape. Freyja dances to Love Me Land about it, and Clementine dances to Can't Tame Her.

Vampires canonically exist, but we don't know a whole lot about them. One of them is Lilith, the coach of Maneater. She and a coach named Alano (from the song Familiar) share a dance to DJ Got Us Falling In Love, where Lilith appears to curse/possess him at the very end. Aside from her is Vester De Ville, from the song Sacrifice. He's shown in two very different points in time, and it's implied that he has a boyfriend.

One of the background dancers in PoPiPo is a carrot. Her name is Swaggy Carrot.
