This is low-key on par with me meeting my English Professor this year to talk about our final project and it ended with me showing him how to navigate Ao3.

I showed this 50-year old British college professor fanfiction because he asked about what medium I read with most often and I just HAD TO MAKE A JOKE ABOUT FICS. And then I had the gall to be shocked about him actually showing interest in a term he hadn't heard before.

This lead to a conversation about the transformative nature of fics and how they are actually amazing forms of expanding on series that you enjoy and him realizing he'd actually had his class write fix-it fics for books they've read in class as assignments. And he promised me he'd check ao3 out more if he had time.
