(I don't *think* I've mentioned her in any of my previous answers...? Correct me if I'm wrong though, but I'm just gonna go with what's coming to me now...)

Idk why, but Daisy is giving me very strong Majel Barrett-role vibes, particular of TOS? (Not the computer, obviously, and not Lwaxana - but actually, about the Lwaxana parallel: this is totally more complex than it needs to be, but with Della essentially being the Riker parallel and her imzadi being Selene and Penny (it's gonna be both bc I say so, although Selene fits Deanna better, especially since Deanna's actress, Marina Sirtis, is Greek, and both characters have the "mystical powers" thing and wisdom going for them - soooo...talking specifically about Selene here), the logical Lwaxana/irritating-visiting-parent-to-the-captain parallel is most definitely going to be Zeus. XD (Lwaxana's way better though. ;)))

Okay, so, DAISY...

I was initially thinking yeoman or a TOS "Number One" type, but since this AU is more TNG-era-based and Daisy would be of Donald's age range, that doesn't really work much. (And as for TNG "Number One", again, we've got Della in that role.)

It could be fun to make Daisy a doctor/nurse in Ludwig's sickbay, particularly bc one, she'd be an additional voice of reason to counter/work with Ludwig and his EMHs (and there's potential with the whole Section S.H.U.S.H. thing there and Daisy discovering it), and two, it would make her meeting Donald that much cuter (see below about this). And y'know, I'm still gonna list my other option for Daisy, but I think I'm actually becoming very quickly attached to Dr. Duck here?

My third option for her is that she is the ship's quartermaster, going off of her character in DT17 as a fashion designer and personal assistant. I'd think she'd help run a very fine ship (pun intended ;P) in the quartermaster's store.

Anywho, I probably should've specified before, but for whichever role I choose for Daisy (doctor), she's on the Klondike. And that is so she can meet a certain chief engineer, first as fellow officers, and eventually leading to more. But having Daisy specifically as a doctor would be so much cuter bc Donald being the unlucky ducky that he is (who gave him command of engineering?! right, me XD), I can guarantee you he makes regular trips to sickbay. And so one day he comes in, for a plasma burn on his elbow or something, and he finds that there's a new doctor onboard, a very cute doctor that makes him all the more clumsy just getting onto the bio-bed but she actually has a decent, and very soothing, professional bedside manner (versus the chaotic frenzy that is Ludwig's). And Daisy finds out very quickly that Donald is a frequent visitor ("Are you really this clumsy, or are you just making up excuses now to come see me?" she flirts. Donald, holding a very real plasma burn on his other elbow: "Yes." XD). And it just goes from there. :D

What do they each do/act like when the other is hurt/in sickbay? What, if anything, do they do (or not do) for Space Valentines Day? My headcanon is that Landry doesn’t say the words “I love you” often/at all; if you’re with me on that one, what do you think she’d say to communicate her love instead? ;D

SICKBAY

landry snaps at basically everyone other than michael for doing anything that has any minor potential of making her injuries worse. tilly once came and visited michael in sickbay while landry was on shift so that they could eat some ice cream and read old novels together, and landry “happened to be in the area” to come and check on michael during shift, saw them hanging out, and told tilly that if she REALLY cared about michael, she’d read TO her rather than let michael strain her eyes. after a while, it annoys michael just as much as it endears her.

michael devolves into someone whose only two moods are “clinically practical” and “blankly silent.” yes, she takes care of landry and visits her while she’s in sickbay, but she keeps their contact mostly professional and frequently drops into thousand yard stares while hanging out with her. she doesn’t want landry to worry about her worrying when she should just be focused on recovering. landry sees right through it but doesn’t call her out on it

on their first space valentine’s day, michael was going to sort of shyly run through some stereotypical holiday stuff, but landry makes an offhand comment one day about valentine’s day being stupid, and michael quietly abandons all her plans. somebody tells landry that she should go all out for michael since she’s never celebrated before, and landry seriously considers it before planning this quiet evening where they just eat dinner together and maybe cuddle afterwards. anyway landry surprises michael with this really soft evening and it’s super cute.

landry is almost as aggressively unsentimental as sarek, so yeah i’d buy her infrequently saying “i love you.” instead of that, she drops by michael’s station during shift and reminds her to take breaks. she complains about everything saru does loudly for a week after he says something mean to michael. she picks up weird alien flowers for her when she goes on away missions with the justification that michael likes that science shit. she makes sure michael doesn’t fall asleep at her desk and will carry her to a more comfortable place when she does. she acts aloof but is very deeply attentive to everything she does when she’s with michael. that’s love bitch.

HI I FINALLY DID THIS I KNOW IT’S BEEN YEARS

(Also this is the only one I’m doing today because it’s been a Day; my new roommate moved in, I’ll post selfies tomorrow! :D )

So here goes! I couldn’t bear to make it sad, so have this instead :D Hope you like it!

It’s pretty damn obvious that Leo is beyond pissed at Jim. Hell, Jim is pissed at Jim, and he isn’t as attached to himself as Leo was. Missing all but two days of their joint shore leave is just the icing on the cake.

And it’s not like Jim loves putting himself in danger! But he can’t stand aside while his crew is in danger.

And another thing is that ever since Leo is Jim’s primary care doctor, they’re not registered as each other’s next of kin anymore, since they’re not married or otherwise related. Meaning, even though Jim got back to the Starbase needing only one set of lifesaving surgery, Leo hadn’t found out until he had already looked for Jim everywhere.

And then there was the thing where Jim refused to take his meds because hey, they were making him feel really, really bad.

And last week he’d caught a snippet of Leo talking to Christine, “Chris, I don’t know how much longer I can do this. With him getting himself into trouble over and over and over. One day I won’t be able to do anything for him anymore.”

Jim hadn’t heard Chris’ answer, but he’d heard enough. So Leo was breaking up with him but didn’t know how to tell him. It’s why he doesn’t sleep at Jim’s quarters anymore, why he’s so odd during their meals together, like there’s something he wants to say but can’t.

Nyota has been shooting him looks too, wondering, sizing him up.

    “You know, I never thought you were relationship material,” she says during breakfast once. They’re alone - Leo ate quickly and wandered off to Sickbay, Spock didn’t even show up.

Jim’s heart beats harshly in his chest.

    “He’s going to break up with me, isn’t he?” He asks, hurting already. It’s not like Leo doesn’t have every reason to.

She looks at him strangely. “Why do you think that?”

He shakes his head. “Forget it. Doesn’t matter.”

She drops it.

Jim can’t even stand being in the same room as Leo anymore. Leo doesn’t come on the bridge, Jim doesn’t visit him in Sickbay, makes sure to hit the gym when Leo definitely isn’t there, and so forth.

At night he can barely sleep, staring up at an empty ceiling. They’d planned to draw Terran constellations with glow in the dark paint there.

The bed is far too big for Jim alone. It reminds him of when he was young and would hide in his mom’s bed, hoping it’d somehow give him strength to withstand the stepdad of the month while she was roaming the stars. He feels small and weak and stupid and cowardly - just like he had for most of his childhood. They aren’t happy memories.

He’s due for shots. Chris administers them, not Leo, and Jim can’t take it anymore.

    “Can you talk to him?” He asks, and Chris looks at him weirdly.

    “Leo,” Jim explains. “He - he’s been weird, and I know he wants to break up with me, I just wish he’d get it over with.”

Chris very, very carefully arranges the set of hyposprays. “I’ll talk to him, and I can tell him to meet you at O-Deck one tonight, but you’ll need to do the talking there.”

    “Thank you.” Jim’s voice catches in his throat.

True to her word, Chris talks to Leo and he shows up. Jim’s palms are sweaty and he doesn’t know what to say.

    “Can you get it over with?” He can’t look Leo in the eye either. “Just … tell me you can’t stand it anymore, and that you want to end it, that you want to remain friends or not. Just please say it already.”

Leo stays silent for entirely too long.

Finally, “You think I’m breaking up with you?”

Jim shrugs. “Figures. You’ve been avoiding me, and I heard you talk with Chris, that you can’t do this anymore.”

Leo chokes out a laugh, high-pitched and stressed. “I wanted to propose to you, you fucking idiot, -”

    “What?!” Jim’s head snaps up fast enough to give himself whiplash. “What?!”

    “I just - I’m a fucking shitty liar, Jim, you know that. I was so scared you’d know, I could barely stand being in a room together because the fucking ring kept burning holes in my pocket. Wanted to propose for the anniversary of you getting the captaincy. But -” He steps closer. “Guess I oughta do it now, huh? James Kirk, will you -”

    “Yes!” Jim says. “Oh God, yes!”

    “- let me finish my goddamn sentence.”

Jim grins so widely he thinks his face is going to split in two.

    “James Kirk, will you marry me?”

    “Hell yes I will.”

He only realizes much, much later, after celebratory kisses and sex and more kisses and both of them bawling their eyes out, that it’s not just any gold ring Leo, the sap he is, got him. No, it’s a proper gold ring with a diamond set in it.

    “It’s in the shape of the Enterprise,” Jim says in a small voice, utterly delighted, unable to take his eyes off the ring.

     “Well, of course it is. You’re already married to her.”
