Pokemon x DP
This idea just won't leave me alone for some reason.
So yeah, it's been a millenia and Danny has been the ghost king for a very long time.
Probably longer since time flows inconsistently and in a nonlinear fashion in the infinite realms.
He just finished all of Pariah's Neglected paper works and messed up and he's Stressed and Dead Tired™ that he needs to relax.
He completely skim through every media entertainment he could get his ghostly hands in to, managing to finish One Piece, Detective conan, MCU, DC, Spongebob, the entire pokemon franchise (games, manga, anime, movies included), complete slew of movies of different genres, games and many, many more.
He's still stressed though…
So Vacation it is!
He had a hard time deciding where he would go before someone joked about going to another multiverse just for a vacatiin and you know what? Danny like that.
(Tucker wasn't serious obviously, he was just kidding!
"Danny! Wait—! Aaaaaan he's gone."
Sam entered the office with a bunch of ghost behind her carrying ghostly paper works and request from multiple Gods, Death Gods, and Eldritch entities.
She take one glance to the office and to tuckers sheepish expression and pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Okay spill, where's Danny?"
"Funny, you see—"
After the explanation, Sam sighed.
"You do the paperworks then."
"What?!"
"You dig your own grave and your own coffin, you sleep on it."
"Excuse you! I'm not Vlad! And FYI! I sleep on my Sarcophagus!"
"Don't care, what ever.")
Danny then remembered pokedex entries:
[Phantump–the Stump pokemon]
[These Pokémon are stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died in the forest. Their cries sound like eerie screams.]
Just like the kind of universe he belongs to!
Ignoring Tucker's voice, he opened up a portal and immediately dive in.
(He could sense the presence of the dreadfull paperworks getting closer, better skedaddle before he got caught)
He grinned and transform himself into human before shifting his age to that of a teenager, this is gonna be fun.
___
If you tell Paul previously that he would end up travelling sinnoh again with a fresh team and a traveling companion like a certain World Champion from Pallet town does all the time, then he would have scoffed or sneer at you before insulting youe intelligence.
"GET DOWN HERE YOU MENACE!!!"
Paul screamed at the tooof his lungs towardshus travelling comoanion. The said menace just grin before—
"WAIT—STOP!!!"
The menace jumped off the fucking cliff.
Paul almost have an heart attack before his companion harmlessly lands on the ground with both of his feet.
There was a big explosion of dust and dirt that Paul had to cover his eyes. The ground gave in and he could see the dark haired teen standing on the crater unharmed.
He gawked, before sighing in resignation.
Of course, he just have to get a super human, just like a certain boy from Pallet, for a travelling companion.
"Come—on Paul! Live a little would ya? Look at me, I'm half dead yet I'm having more fun than you! Give it a try for a yourself!"
Its official, this is karma for being awful and for all the things he did and said before.

≡ NOTE ⋮ single as a pringle but I want my future relationship to be like this ૮꒰っ˕‹̥̥̥ ꒱ these boys make me fall in love hard
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
KUROO TETSUROU
It's the way he always stays beside you even though you're both doing different things. He'll rest his head against your arm as you type on your laptop/computer and he was on his phone, browsing for some random meme or nerd stuff. From time to time, Tetsu will show you some funny posts he'll come across just so you can laugh at it together. When he feels the urge, he'll plant a random kiss on your shoulder; and if he still can't get enough, he'll steal a kiss on your lips and who knows it might turn into something more. There are times when he's feeling extra so cuddly and will rub his cheek against your arm like he's your cat in human form, then he'll feel drowsy and fall asleep.
It can go the other way around too when you're caged in his arms with your attention on your phone and his on the TV. He'll nuzzle his nose on top of your head and you'll squeeze tight against his chest, just shrouded with his warmth and scent.
He doesn't have the perfect family growing up. He's awakened to the the impermanence of things a little too early that's why just by having you beside him is more than enough. Just the simplicity of basking in each other's presence—cherishing all the time you get to spend with each other no matter how mundane.
KENMA KOZUME
It's when he treasures every memory with you no matter how small. Kenma will sneakily take pictures of you whenever you're just simply eating fries, you're busy doing work, or crying over a tearjerking scene in a movie. That one time you looked so beautiful as you attend a party with him, the one when you are slightly snoring in your sleep and even when you have your mouth full as you munch on your favorite food, he has an album of all those. He has even created a private Instagram account with photos and videos of you alone and of the two of you as a couple.
Sometimes you will catch him smiling while tinkering on his phone and you just think he's playing a game, but little did you know that he is editing a video of you and the both of you.
He has been content being all by himself yet when you've come along, his world begins to be more colorful. It's like he's playing Pokemon but the one he's catching will always be you and your cute reactions, keeping every bits and pieces of your presence in his life as the greatest gameplay he doesn't want to be over.
IWAIZUMI HAJIME
It's how he wakes you up each morning. Hajime is always the early riser. Set aside the times when he'll surprise you with a breakfast in bed or the instances when you're running late, he'll nag at you so you can get your lazy ass up from bed.
What you treasure the most is whenever you find your head resting against his chest as he fidgets with the strands of your hair. The beating of his heart against your ear is like a sweet welcome in the morning.
Also, the times when you'll wake up to him watching you sleep. His gaze is full of adoration and filled with emotions unspoken. The way his eyes will crinkle in his smile as he say, "Good morning." You feel so lucky to wake up beside this man. Just seeing him you look at you like that makes you grateful of each waking day, getting another chance to spend it with him. You want to freeze the moment, wishing for it not to end anytime soon. Just you and him before the world.
OIKAWA TOORU
It's the pillowtalk you have before going to sleep. How you reminisce the first time you meet each other and how far you've come together. The sparkle in his eyes as he recall how much more beautiful you have become and stronger you have been, growing into the wondeful person you are today. His eyes convey so much fondness and love that they beam even at the dimness of your room. There's also something so special with the way he caresses the side of your facewith the backnof his hand as if he's trying to bury each dip and line of your feature.
You'll dissect your emotions together, the good and the bad. You'll both cry at the sad moments, embrace each other through the hurt and laugh at the silliest and most embarassing memories.
Tooru has always been seeking for external validation, seeing achievement as the metric for his success yet with you it's just so simple. You're all he needs to be fulfilled. With you, it's just so easy. and sharing every moment with you, every loss, every victory, is something he will never ever trade for anything else. For, despite everything, he has finally found the safe space he can come home to at the ebd of each day.
AKAASHI KEIJI
It's when he doesn't want to let go of your hand. Keiji has always been a gentleman, but he won't let anyone break your handhold whenever you stroll outside. He'll always have your hand in his never breaking away. His hold is tight and gentle, expressing how protective he is of you. His thumb usually carresses the back of your knuckles so sweetly and he'll occasionally whisper a kiss like you're his treasured princess. When it's cold, he'll slip your linked fingers inside his coat. Sometimes, he'll gently breathe out against your hand if he notices you freezing. Whenever your handhold will break, he immediately seeks out for you. He'll stop walking just so you can come back in his grasp again.
He has gained a habit of playing with your dainty fingers idly too. Sometimes, it can catch people's attention just by the sheer intimacy of it yet he isn't aware.
Even when you're alone and at home, he still reaches out for your hand. He has you in a tender hold as you watch your favorite show or eat dinner. There are times you'll wake up with your fingers interlocked with each other and it gives you so much comfort. Comfort in knowing you have someone to hold on to for the rest of your life and you know you'll never ever let him go too.
KITA SHINSUKE
It's the way he cares for you like no one else does. Shinsuke will always see that you have eaten enough and at the right time. You can't skip a meal when he's around. If you're busy and can't take a meal right away, he'll bring the food to you. Makes sure that you drink plenty of water and you sleep on time. He snatches your phone away when you take too much time with it even during late at night. When he's farming and you're at work, he takes time to call you during lunch, making sure that you are looking after yourself as much as he's looking after you.
He always checks the temperature outside and prepares the right outerwear for you so you won't catch a cold. Even if you have layers and layers of clothing over you, he'll still pull you close with an arm around your shoulder to keep you warm.
When it's raining, his priority is to get you under the umbrella. It doesn't matter if a part of himself is getting drenched as long as you are not.
He can be strict at times but he is easy to cave in and will allow you to eat your favorite junk food or sweet once you surprise him with a kiss.
Though he can be quite strict at times, he really wish you know how much you mean to him he doesn't want you to be harmed. Your hurt is his hurt and he just simply wants you to take care of yourself the way he cares so devotedly for you.
MIYA ATSUMU
It's because you're his perfect match. Tsumu often buys something in pair. People will see you wearing matching jackets, shirts and caps. You even have couple phone cases and wallpapers because of him. Whenever he has a new jersey, he'll give the extra to you so you can sometimes wear it together. He just loves seeing his clothes on you. You look so good in them that
Whenever he buys something in the grocery, he'll also buy one for you. If there's only ine pudding left, he'll share the other half of it with you. Always with you. He always has you in his mind and thinks of you as he thinks of himself.
Sometimes, he'll sacrifice what he has just so you can have it. He won't let you know about this, of course, but he wants you to feel that you have him as a partner, that he'll be with you in every step of the way and that he sees you as an extension of himself.
MIYA OSAMU
It's because he lets you mess up. Though it's obvious with the way he sweats and brows furrow, how he's so nervous with what the outcome could be, Samu will still let you take over his kitchen.
Normally, he doesn't allow any foreign hands on any of his kitchenware, but you are the only exception.
He'll let you use his non-stick skillet pan though he just bought it. He knows it won't come unscathed after your use but he still lends it to you and you know it so well. Instead of getting angry at you, he just laughs at your mistakes, carressing the top of your head and giving you a sweet kiss. He's aware that you're trying your best to impress him even if he is constantly reminding you that he doesn't mind making breakfast, lunch and dinner for you for the rest of your life.
Most importantly, you can mess up his brand new skillet or even his whole kitchen. He can always get another one again but he cannot get another one of you.

Dp x Dc AU: Jazz Fenton, after years of fixing her brother’s injuries, becomes a Doctor with an inclination towards behavioral health and psychology- In order to make the difference she wants to see in the world she joins Dr. Leslie Thompkin’s practice.
Jazz Fenton, M.D. has spent years of her life doing research, doing the hard work and the emotional labor, and finally, finally, she’s joining a practice she can feel 100% confident in. She’s goddamn good doctor and she wants to make the biggest impact that she can.
Dr. Thompkins (who insists that she call her Leslie as they’re colleagues now), is a kind woman, sharp as a tack and keeps her practice open at odd hours to help the most unfortunate. It took some time for them to bond and trust to be built, but now Jazz is being allotted a few night shifts here and there.
It’s incredible. Jazz gets to spend time with the kids who come in and really talk to them (in addition to getting them antibiotics, heating pads and pokemon themed bandaids) to help equip them with a few coping skills. Her passion for psychology never disappeared after all, but the expansive knowledge of how to heal the human body has made her find a sense of fulfillment like no other.
Having proven herself and worn Leslie down, Jazz now takes up about 1/3 of all the night shifts in the month. She’s hoping to get to 50/50 by the end of the year but she’s content with what she has. Danny keeps odd hours anyway so calling him after work on her walk home can happen any time of day and he will always answer enthusiastically.
It’s a particularly busy night before he comes in. The Red Hood.
He was known for being an ally to Leslie, despite being on contentious terms with the Bats, but Jazz had never asked directly. Never one to turn away a patient with bullet hole wounds, she hops into action to get his wounds cleaned, sewed up and gauze wrapped. She’s handing him a sheet (an Infographic! Dani made it with her! Graphic design is her passion!) on how to care for his wounds when he first seems to recognize that she’s not Leslie.
“No, Of course not. I’m Dr. Fenton. I can’t blame you for not remembering but I did introduce myself as you bled in the entry way. You’re Red Hood, right?”
“Hm. Didn’t realize the practice was expanding. Where can I find-” He grumbles before pushing her hand aside from where she had still been supporting his shoulder.
“Hold on there, mister. You’re going home, you’re following this infographic and you’re going to get some sleep.”
“Lady you don’t know-” His voice modulated ton came across antagonistically. As if he was trying to intimidate her. Ha, Jazz rolls her eyes at the inclination.
“Who I’m talking to? Who I’m dealing with? You’re hilarious. I can eat you vigilante’s hero complexes for breakfast. Tell me who I’m calling to pick you up and then you can say thank you.” Jazz snaps at him. It really had been a long night but his whole dialogue thus far is making her a bit batty.
“Oh really Doc? You know Leslie’s tough shit, and from what I can tell you’ve got nothing on her-”
“Trying to make me feel insufficient when I just saved your life? That’s cute. I’m sure a lifetime of abandonment by both of your parental figures gave you that. I’m also sure that you inherited this desire to prove you’re not going to be dependent on anyone who wants to help from whoever got you dressing up in tights to fight crime in the first place. Again, I’d love to talk at length about how predictable you-”
“Bwah- wait- I’m Predictable? You’re probably some nepobaby who had parents who told her she could have the world-” But Jazz cuts him off with hysterical laughter- he couldn’t be further from the truth. Her parents loved her, but nepotism? With what, the ghosts? If anything she got that from Danny, but he doesn’t need to know about her ghostly titles.
“You’re just some guy who came back from the dead and made his trauma everyone else’s issue. So shut it. And tell me how I’m getting you home from this clinic.” She seethes though her voice stays devastatingly level with each word.
Speechless for a moment, he eventually relents to Jazz that he’s already called for help on the comms but it will be hours before they can come for a pick up. The sun had already come up and the night had been over for most of them before Hood had walked into trouble. She groans and the realizes the time for herself and the empty clinic around them.
“Fine. My shift just ended anyway. I’ll get you home in one piece and I swear to all the ancients that you’d better follow the directions on the infographic.”
And that’s how Jazz ended up calling her brother while supporting the weight of a grown ass man (who no longer wanted to talk to her) on her walk home.
The next time Red Hood appears in her clinic, he’s brought a dozen roses in addition to the cut on his neck that definitely needs to be pressurized like ASAP. Did he stop for the flowers on his way to the clinic? He’s going to pass out from blood loss! She doesn’t even like roses!

ARAN RYAN HEADCANONS!!1! (explodes..starting w/ him bc he my fav..heart☹️)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
FAMILY.
Declan Ryan. (Father, 52.)
Peigí Ryan. (Mother, 54.)
Aofie Ryan. (Older Sister, 25.)
Ronan Ryan. (Younger Brother, 19.)
Sean and Cian Ryan. (Younger Brothers, 16.)
GENERAL.
Previously worked as a Dockhand in the ports before he boxed, it’s where he gained most of his strength.
Knows how to swindle someone out of a pretty penny, his Ma taught him how to charm his way through any situation.
He began fighting as early as he could, (18). Though he’s most likely been illegally weaselling his way into professional matches before hand.
ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS gets up at 7:00am SHARP. If he doesn’t get up at 7am he’ll probably be up at 7:07, and if he isn’t up at that time he’ll be extremely pissed about it.
He uses an unhealthy amount of gel to get his hair to stay like that. No fucking way does it just do that thang.
Apart from that, he somehow has nice-ish hair despite how ratty and unkempt it looks, his Ma' and Aofie taught him how to care for his hair once he started growing it out.
Still lives at the Ryan Home, with his parents, and siblings, (though Aofie has moved out.she visits.) he’s WAY too irresponsible with his money to rent his own apartment.
Got surprisingly decent grades for how he acts.
He eats Lucky Charms for breakfast, but he usually only eats the marshmallows.
Learned Irish Stepdance from his Father, he’s trying to rope his younger brothers into learning it as well.
SOMEHOW. SOMEHOW still has his drivers license. He drives this really banged up looking car, each time he has to drive someone somewhere they exit the car hyperventilating, dehydrated, malnourished, trembling, tense, teary eyed../j
He’s tasked with babysitting Sean and Cian more often than not, he most likely drops them off with one of the other Boxers if he can’t be bothered to deal with their bullshit™️. (Which, surprisingly, isn’t all that common.)
When he was a kid, he tried to sell or trade Ronan/Sean and Cian when they were babies for something ridiculous. Like a Pokemon card, or something of the sorts.
Also tried to make his Younger Brothers’ first words a curse. (It worked for Cian, his first word was ‘Arse’.) ((Aran was overjoyed, his parents not so much.))
Owns a lot of lucky charms, almost to the point where it’s absurd.
Most of his old clothes end up becoming hand-me-downs to Ronan, Sean and Cian.
He knocked out (one of) Cian's teeth when he was younger.
He has a couple photos of his family members haphazardly pasted onto the inside of his locker door.
Plays shitty, overused pranks on some of the other Boxers.
He's coaching Sean and Cian on how to box. (And cheat, he enthusiastically encouraged the twins to keep up with their whole 'Switch-Places' shtick.)
His knuckles are bruised from the horseshoes he has in his gloves, as well as a few swollen spots on his face. Probably has a dislocated or even broken finger or two.
There's merchandise of all of the boxer's in the WVBA, sometimes there's a figure or plush of Aran being thrown at the wall or kicked down the stairs in the Ryan Household.
Most likely would try to fight with Sean or Cian in the ring. (Sort of almost a..Bear Hugger situation. But not with a squirrel. I do not know how to word this..)
Buys the shittiest Birthday presents ever. Literally. He doesn't gaf.
Was somehow dragged into a Double Scull by Sean, Aran purposefully tipped the boat and Sean didn't speak to him for around 3-5 business days.
He goes to the pub from time to time, which gives him a lot of gossip and such about the locals.
Doesn't get into Bar Fights as much as one would think.
He DEFINITELY has messy, horrible handwriting.
here,, dumps this and walks away
therr will probably be a part two,,and maybe i'll do one soley focused on his relations with the fellow boxers because ive been too scared to dip my toe into that territory yet,,(I DONT UNDERSTAND SHIPPING FOR THE LIFE OF ME, hwo does it work..) anywasy thank you for coming to my ted talk and sorry for yapping heart heart

I'm really forgetful and can't remember if I already requested this but I feel like a really silly idea would be puppeteer reader waking up one day and they look next to them and wally is just straight up somehow a human 😭 like I feel like wally would be really weirded out and reader would kinda have to teach him how to act human and natural sobs
I think you did, but I lost it so it is okay! I'm going to base his human appearance off of the version I saw from Clown's Pokemon AU.
Suddenly Human Wally with a Puppeteer Reader
🎥 You wake up one morning, a sudden feeling of "something is wrong wait-" taking over you. First of all, the pupper you were holding as you slept is suddenly much heavier. Your arm is falling asleep... Second of all, you feel some warm air hitting your face. Wally doesn't breathe... He's a puppet.
🎥 You open your eyes, only to help when you see an odd man in your arms! His eyes shoot open, before he sits up and asks "What's wrong, my puppeteer?! Wait... Why is everything a bit smaller?"
🎥 The man has a tan/dark complexion, with a similar blue pompadour to Wally's. He's also wearing the same clothes as Wally, too. You watch as he looks down at his hands, before he gets up and stands. He then waves his arms in a panic as he cries out "Help! (Y/N), something is wrong! I'm supposed to be a puppet, not like you!" So this IS Wally?
🎥 You bring him downstairs for breakfast, only to be a bit confused at how calm Angela and Henry are. They seem to instantly recognize that the man is Wally. He sits at the table, looking around, before he starts glaring at his food. You watch him closely as you take a bit, before remembering that, as a puppet, Wally just ate with his eyes. You whisper to him "Wally... you do know that you probably have to use your mouth to eat, now, right?"
🎥 He looks a bit confused, before trying to copy what you do. He puts the food in his mouth, chews, then... just, leaves it there. He asks "Why isn't it disappearing?" with a full mouth of food, causing you to cringe and say "Swallow, Wally. You need to swallow. Think about like... swallowing from being nervous. Like when Sally told you to play the princess in that one play." His eyes widen, before he nods, then swallows.
🎥 He suddenly tenses, slamming his hands on the table, his eyes staring blankly at the wall. It's almost like a thousand yards stare, or as though his life was flashing before his eyes. After a few seconds, he returns to normal, before saying "Wow! That felt weird!" in the most chipper tone you have heard from him.
🎥 Teaching Wally about being human is going to be a rollercoaster of emotions, isn't it?

He is Emmet. He is a Subway Boss.
He repeats this mantra several times, and each passenger made well aware. Each passenger lost to his Eelektross. Each time, he laughed it off. Each time, he congratulated them on a battle well fought and sent them on their way.
Each time, he missed his brother.
Emmet had grown to miss Ingo's antics. The slight shoulder taps his brother would use to drag Emmet out of a slump. The loud boisterous ‘Bravo!’ he would call out after each battle.
He is Emmet. He missed how Ingo's Haxorus’ earthquake would render Eelektross unconscious.
What a silly thing to miss.
Sat upon the plush subway seats, Emmet's chin tucked between his pointer knuckle and thumb. His eyes closed, a smile pressed against his lips. The knowledge of the missing frown that usually accompanies his grin does not elude him. It sits in his chest, nesting its way into the crater permeating his heart, building a home out of the shards of Emmet's mask.
If Emmet could muster up the courage to move, he would be well on his way home by now. It was the lump in his throat and the shake in his wrists that compelled him to stay seated.
The train had stopped. It had remained stopped for a while. He sat in his seat for as long as the train had been stopped. He had been stopped.
He was stagnant.
He was Emmet, and he had stopped growing as a Pokémon trainer. He had thrown himself into other things.
Other things, being, finding Ingo. He needed to. He was Emmet. He had to.
Teeth bit the inside of his lip, gloved fingers curled around dampened slacks. Emmet’s eyes slipped shut.
He wished he had bore witness to Ingo's departure, at least.
It wasn't something he was used to yet. He still awoke each morning expecting his brother to have made breakfast or his chandelure to be chattering away at him like usual.
Emmet nearly always made far too much to eat for dinner, waiting at the dining table until far too late into the night. Waiting for the door to open and the telltale signs of Ingo’s arrival. His hearty chuckle, and boisterous greeting, delighted that dinner had been made and was waiting. The ever so subtle grin that would spread across his face as he hung his hat and coat, sitting across the table from Emmet.
One night, he was here. The next he was not.
One morning, he had made breakfast. The next he was gone. His pokemon, his home, and his brother left behind.
---
My first submas fic? Tell me how silly it is haha (incredibly nervous to post ANYTHING)
All in all, feedback,,is very heavily encouraged because I have no idea how to write (I have like 3 more wips for them)

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Seekers of Soul
[Chapter 54]
<< First | < Previous | Next >
-
A mission with Team Evergreen.
-
Tobias wakes at dawn, his internal clock as sharp as ever despite the earthquake disrupting his night of sleep. They’re supposed to join Team Evergreen for a joint mission today, so Tobias shakes Nia awake rougher than he usually does, not wanting Andyn to hold poor punctuality over their heads the whole morning. Nia whines, somehow even more difficult to wake when she has a blanket to bury herself back under. Finally, Tobias just rips the covers off her curled body, and is almost impressed by the sleepy glare she gives him in return.
Eventually, Tobias manages to drag Nia to her paws and get the two of them get moving. They eat a quick breakfast of the berries they’d brought back from Maggie’s the day before as they head down the Lexym Tree, until they finally reach the bottom floor underground.
“Whoa,” Nia murmurs.
While this floor is pretty much always populated, Seekers clustered around the mission boards and moving out into the forest through the spiderweb of tunnels circling the room, it’s rarely this busy. A bustling crowd of Pokemon are moving in and out of the space, more Seekers than Tobias has seen active at once. Some of the higher-ranked teams, powerful and scarred and more often than not evolved, are trailing in with exhaustion on their faces, while the lower-rank teams are tagging out for their own missions in the Haven. Must be taking shifts on earthquake cleanup.
Verene and a few higher-rank guild members seem to be directing teams on where to head next, the mission board not yet updated with all of the information coming in from last night’s damages.
“Oh! Over there!” Nia says, pointing.
Tobias follows her gaze to where Ezra is waving them over, the sneasel’s claws just barely visible over the crowd. Tobias takes the lead and weaves through the throng of Pokemon until he and Nia finally reach Team Evergreen’s side.
“Good morning,” Jaz says. The little stufful looks unruffled as always by everything going on, giving them both a smile.
“Morning! Where’s Andyn?” Nia asks.
Ezra jerks a claw over his shoulder.
Tobias follows the gesture. The deerling is shoving her way through the crowd towards a servine who is doling out missions, a solosis at their side communicating information with its telepathy.
As Nia starts up a conversation with Ezra and Jaz, Tobias pushes his own way through the crowd until he’s at the deerling’s side.
“D-Rank team,” Andyn is saying. “Three members.”
“We’re doing a team-up mission, actually,” Tobias interrupts, glaring at Andyn and daring her to argue. “So five members.”
She doesn’t look happy to see Tobias, as usual, but she doesn’t contradict him.
“Species?”
“Deerling, sneasel, and stufful.”
“Charmander and riolu.”
The servine’s tongue flicks thoughtfully as they look down at the papers in their short, leafy hands. The solosis floats closer to murmur to them, and the servine nods and crosses something off their list.
“Most of the Haven has been attended to, so we’re starting to focus on the guild. One of the tunnels down here caved in after the quake. We need the next shift of hands to help remove the rubble.”
Tobias feels Andyn deflate at his side, and tries not to do the same.
“Cave cleanup?” Andyn asks, voice bordering on a whine. “Surely you could use us somewhere more important? We aren’t even ground types!”
“Ground types are handling the unstable areas out in the forest,” The servine says, raising a brow and looking a bit impatient.
Andyn straightens up immediately at the expression. “R-Right. Um. Which tunnel, then?”
The servine flicks their leafy tail towards one of the eastern tunnels, before gesturing for them to hurry out of the way for the next team.
Tobias gives Andyn a sour look once they step away. “You were really going to lie just to get out of working with us.”
Andyn scoffs, refusing to meet his eye, and marches back to their teammates. “I forgot, okay?”
“Sure.”
Ezra and Jaz are unphased by Andyn’s mood or her news that they’ll be on cave cleanup. Nia, too, just seems happy to spend some time with her friends. Tobias resigns himself to the job and prepares for a long day of monotonous, tiring work and an evening of picking dirt out from under his claws.
When they head into the tunnel they were directed to, it almost seems like nothing is wrong. The rounded, grooved walls appear sturdy as usual, the blue stones jutting from the earth intact and glowing softly.
It’s as they move deeper that the damage and cleanup effort becomes more obvious. Temporary torches line the walls to offer more light, warming up the unusual darkness of the tunnel. The walls themselves are no longer smoothed, instead a lumpy patchwork of soil as if they had to be hastily molded anew after the earthquake. Hard dirt and rubble is scattered across the floor, not yet cleaned up or tamped down by footsteps. The blue stones that usually grow from the walls and ceiling are largely destroyed, mixed in among the soil in broken, dull shards. As they walk even deeper, five sets of footsteps absorbed by the earth, brackets of wood start to appear too, lining the tunnel walls like ribs. Probably helping to add stability as they excavate, if Tobias had to guess.
Tobias registers the quiet murmur of conversation right before they finally reach the worksite. The tunnel, as expected, is blocked by fallen rocks and soil, a mountain at least three times Tobias’ height. A large cart sits heavy on its wheels nearby, a ramp leading up to its bed and a couple of metal buckets sitting around its base. More torches are jammed into the ground around the area to provide extra light, especially without the usual blue glow of the gemstones available.
Two huge Pokemon are gesturing at the cave-in as they talk. The largest is a stout, familiar-looking hippowdon, her dark gray hide nearly blending in with the darkness. The other is a tall Pokemon, its head resting atop thin but powerful tentacles—a toedscruel.
Nia steps closer, grabbing Tobias’ arm to whisper, “Tobias, we met her the first day I came to the guild! The hippo. Um. Alana, I think?”
“Abana,” Jaz corrects in a whisper of her own. “She’s typically a tunnel guard.”
The hippowdon’s little ears flick, and the conversation between the two large Pokemon cuts off as they turn to look at the newcomers.
“Guessing you’re the next batch of hands, then?” The toedscruel asks, his voice gravelly.
“Looks like it,” Abana says, moving closer with steps heavy enough to rumble the ground beneath them. Her gaze moves over each of them, then pauses on Nia.
Nia gives her a shy, hopeful wave.
“Little riolu!” The hippowdon crows, giving a big, blocky smile. “Been a while since I’ve seen you around! I was wondering if you were still at the guild. You a Seeker now?”
“Y-Yes, ma’am! It’s good to see you again.”
The hippowdon chuckles. “You as well, little one. Happy to say I recognize everyone else here, too! At least a bit. You two are Maggie’s boy and Idris and Brielle’s daughter, right?”
Tobias straightens up and nods, flushing. It feels strange, to hear others so confidently call him Maggie’s when he wasn’t nearly as certain about it until recently. But it’s…nice, too. And at least Abana doesn’t already seem to hate him like a lot of the guild does. He hasn’t ran into her much over the years.
Andyn straightens too, chest puffing with pride. “That’s right, ma’am! Ready to make them proud.”
Abana laughs, and the sound is loud in the small space of the tunnel. “Good to hear! Don’t worry, we’ll certainly put you to work. Last group left just a bit ago all tuckered out. Let’s see if we can keep you going until noon.”
Ezra salutes the hippowdon. Nia, after a panicked glance at the sneasel, does the same. Tobias snorts.
“Listen up. Here’s how this goes,” The toedscruel says, crossing one tentacle over the other. “I’m Conifer and this is Abana. We’ll be doing the digging itself to make sure the tunnel stays stable. You all are on cleanup duty.”
Andyn’s ear flicks, but she doesn’t interrupt.
The toedscruel turns to point to the top of the cave-in, where there’s a black gap of space between the rubble and the ceiling. “We’re using a benching method. We dig out the top layer first to gauge the stability of the tunnel and what materials we’re working with, then go back to dig out the layers underneath.”
“But all you five gotta worry about is moving that spoil.” Abana nods to the bottom of the heap, where broken chunks of stone and soil taper off. “Over to that cart as we work.”
Tobias follows the hippowdon’s gaze over to the large cart against the wall, humming his assent. Not exciting work, but easy enough to understand.
Andyn takes a step forward. Her voice is respectful and chipper on the surface, but Tobias can hear something more strained running underneath. “That’s it? I—we can really help more with the digging itself, if you'd like! Surely we’d be more useful actually helping out.”
“You’ll be more useful unburied,” Conifer grumbles. “If you don’t want to do the work we need done, go complain to whoever sent you down here.”
Andyn hesitates, glancing back at each of them. Her gaze lingers on Tobias, as if hoping that he'll join her in throwing a fit. He raises a brow, unimpressed.
“No,” Andyn says, stepping back. “We’ve got it.”
And with that, they get to work.
Andyn and Ezra are stationed atop the tumble of earth itself. They work on jabbing away at the discarded rock and soil with their hooves and claws, breaking it up until it’s small and loose enough to be scooped into the provided buckets. The buckets are almost as big as Jaz, so the stufful’s job is just to fill them with her blunt paws before scooting them behind her for the next ‘mon to grab. Tobias and Nia are put in charge of carrying the filled buckets up the ramp to dump into the cart before returning the empty containers to the stufful’s side. Then the cycle repeats.
“What happens when we fill up the whole cart?” Ezra asks, pausing in his digging to look over his shoulder.
Tobias grunts as he picks up his second bucket of soil—almost half his size and just as heavy. They are going to be so sore after today. “Dunno.”
“A psychic Pokemon will come grab the cart to empty outside when it’s full,” Conifer says distractedly from where he’s monitoring the hollow shelf above the cave-in.
Abana, who had squeezed inside the gap, is nowhere to be seen. Dirt and rocks occasionally come spraying out of the opening to tumble down to Andyn and Ezra, though, so she must be digging.
Tobias can’t walk normally with the heavy bucket in his arms, so he waddles carefully up the ramp to dump its contents onto the empty bed of the cart. A thin layer of dirt and rocks spill over the floorboards, wood grain still clearly visible through the soil.
Nia’s footfalls, heavier than usual, plod up the wooden ramp behind Tobias. She overturns her own bucket and watches the dirt scatter across the wood, looking just as disheartened as he feels by how little it actually seems to add. Tobias bites back a sigh and turns to go back to the pile, where Jaz is already scooping rock and dirt into a third bucket.
Grab bucket. Carry up ramp. Dump. Ignore how quickly his muscles are starting to burn. Repeat.
Nia sets down her bucket after the next drop and shakes out her arms, looking between the cart and the mountain of earth with her ears low. “We’re supposed to do this for six hours?”
“I’m sure we can take breaks to rest and get water,” Jaz soothes, nudging the next filled bucket towards them. “The guild wouldn’t want us to hurt ourselves.”
“Correct,” Conifer rumbles, making Nia jump. “We will call for breaks, but take a breather if you need one. You are here to work, not injure yourself.”
That’s good at least, but it doesn’t make the work any less grueling.
“Why do we keep ending up in tunnels, anyways?” Tobias growls, more to himself than anything, as he grabs another bucketful to carry to the cart.
“The Asra mines were kind of your fault, to be fair,” Nia says as she approaches, then pauses. “Actually, you picked out the tropius mission too, didn’t you?”
“Yeah, yeah. It was a rhetorical question,” Tobias grumbles, flicking her leg with his tail as he passes. Nia laughs, but doesn’t push the point.
The process from there is long, monotonous, and most of all exhausting. Dig, scoop, carry, dump, repeat.
Dig.
Scoop.
Carry.
Dump.
Repeat.
Tobias is steaming with sweat and his shoulders and arms are burning within the hour. From the way Nia’s playful comments and Ezra’s lighthearted chatter die down to wordless, heavy breathing, they must be feeling the strain as well.
Abana and Conifer take turns digging out the shelf and then the earth underneath, stopping to discuss the process in quiet voices between each switch. Well, until—
“Seekers,” Conifer suddenly says, startling everyone. “Take a break.”
Tobias blinks, looking between the endless mountain of soil and the barely filled cart. It doesn’t look like it’s time for a break, much as his body would appreciate one.
The toedscruel waves a dismissive tentacle. “Go on. One of you grab water for the rest of the group. Rest up for a bit, then get back to it.”
Andyn grunts, then immediately jabs away at the soil with renewed vigor.
Ezra sighs. “Anne.”
“You take a break,” Andyn huffs. “I’m fine.”
Tobias rolls his eyes. What exactly does she think she’s proving by being a stubborn brat?
One of Conifer’s yellow tentacles reaches over to wrap around the deerling’s middle. She yelps as she’s plucked from the dirt and placed down closer to the cart.
“Rest,” Conifer says with a sharp look. “Or you will burn out too quickly. That’s an order.”
Andyn ducks her head in what could be an agreeable bow, if Tobias couldn’t see her annoyed expression from his angle.
The deerling reluctantly follows Conifer’s command, though, and soon enough the two teams are sitting around the cart to rest. Jaz had put up the world’s politest fight so she could be the one to go get the canteen of water and some hydration fruit, citing that she was doing the least physically demanding labor. Other than a token protest from Nia, no one had argued, too exhausted to move.
Tobias stretches out his arms and shoulders while they wait for the stufful to return. One arm over the other, then switch.
“I hope everyone in the forest is okay,” Nia murmurs, stretching out her legs. “They would’ve sent someone to check on Hadley, right? A-And the other families we’ve helped?”
Tobias frowns. “Where did that come from?”
Nia shrugs, concerned expression staying put. “I mean…the quake wasn’t too bad here, but I’m just worried about everyone else. There are a lot of Pokemon living in the Haven. How do the Seekers know they checked on everyone who needs help?”
Tobias honestly hasn’t given it much thought. He’s always just assumed that the upper-level Seekers know what they’re doing. Although now that Nia has put the idea in his head, he can’t help thinking about all of the Pokemon he has met in the Haven over the years. Even just the ones he’s interacted with recently, partnered with Nia.
That tropius mother and her lost calf. The teddiursa who got caught in the nearby dungeon, and their roselia friend who was so desperate to save them. The elderly gloom they escorted across the Haven to her sister’s house. The caves they cleaned out for that pancham and her cubs. The torterra and turtwig family they delivered medicine to. Hadley, infuriating as the golisopod is. All of the Pokemon Tobias has met when traveling with Maggie and giving out herbs over the years. Hundreds of Pokemon.
“Yeah,” Tobias says, uncomfortable with the weight of so many lives on his mind. “But the guild said they already sent out Pokemon to make sure the civilians are all right. They must have some kind of system set up so they don’t miss anyone. August knows what he’s doing. We just need to do what we can here.”
“I guess you’re right,” Nia sighs, though she doesn’t sound convinced.
Jaz returns shortly after that conversation, stumbling under the uneven bulk of the canteen and hydration berries strapped to her back.
“Let one of us get the water next time,” Ezra snickers as he moves to help his teammate. “This thing’s bigger than you are.”
Jaz huffs an unamused noise and flops to the dirt while Nia unstraps the items, handing Tobias the berries for him to eat. He immediately pops one into his mouth and savors the juicy burst of sweetness as the others pass around the water canteen, taking long gulps to rehydrate.
All too soon, though, it’s time to get back to work.

It isn’t difficult work, really, at least mentally. Hardly any thinking required. But that almost makes it worse, in Tobias’ opinion, having nothing to keep his mind busy as his body toils. Nothing to focus on but the growing fatigue in his muscles and the boredom in his brain.
Tobias is relieved when Nia speaks up as they wait for Jaz to finish scooping the next bucket. The riolu must be tiring too, but her ruby eyes are curious as she peers past Abana, to where Conifer is squeezed into the hollow above the mountain of soil and shoveling dirt down to Andyn and Ezra.
“Hey, Abana?”
The hippowdon hums, the noise a deep vibration Tobias can feel in the soles of his feet.
“Do all of the guild’s tunnels go out into the forest? Or do some of them go somewhere else?”
“Just to the forest around the Haven. Why do you ask?”
“Well…if that’s the case, why do we even have—” Nia cuts herself off, as if finding her own phrasing too rude. But then she continues, more carefully, “Why does the guild have a tunnel system in the first place? Wouldn’t a front door at the base of the tree work better?”
“It would certainly make it easier without the tunnels, wouldn’t it?” Abana chuckles. “They were originally made as a form of defense for the guild, but they do feel a bit silly nowadays.”
“Defense?” Ezra asks, pausing his digging. His feathery ear—usually a bright red hue—is dull from dust and dirt. “Defense from what?”
“The world hasn’t always been as friendly as it is nowadays,” Abana says. “When the guilds were first created, there were enough folks against the idea that they had to make sure the Tree was secure against any attacks.”
Jaz shoves the next bucket of dirt behind her. Nia grabs it, grunting as she takes small steps towards the cart. Over her shoulder, she says, “Why wouldn’t people want the guilds around? They’ve always been about helping out, right?”
“Mhm. But having the authority to say what is right and what is wrong—and the ability to dole out punishment accordingly—is a lot of power. Some ‘mon worried that those in such a position would abuse that power.”
“August would never do that!” Nia says, stopping in the middle of the ramp to give Abana an offended expression.
Abana laughs. “Agreed! But August is not the only Pokemon in the world willing to become guildmaster.”
“Still,” Nia says, frowning as she dumps the dirt bucket. “People trust the guilds. I can’t imagine what kind of jerk would take advantage of that.”
“That’s because you’re a sweetheart,” Ezra calls lightly, still digging.
Nia eeps with embarrassment, nearly tripping off the ramp. Tobias snorts a laugh as he picks up his own bucket and moves her way.
“And naïve,” Conifer grunts, head poking out from the shelf of dirt. He shakes some soil loose from his tentacles and squeezes out into the open again. “Even today, there are some guildmasters I refuse to work under.”
That has Tobias’ interest piqued, and seemingly the others’ as well, by how their ears perk. “Which ones?”
“I’m not at liberty to say.”
“Why’d you even bring it up, then?” Tobias mumbles as he climbs the ramp and dumps his own bucket. The wooden cart is filled with a thick layer of soil and rock by now, but it’s still only a fourth or so of the way full. How long have they been at it just to make this tiny dent? Two hours? Three?
There’s the quiet shifting of soil behind him, and when Tobias glances back, Abana is vanishing again into the hollow above the cave-in. Must be her turn to dig.
“So just to clarify,” Jaz says. “The tunnels were made to keep the entrances to the Lexym Tree hidden, so that Pokemon who were against the guild couldn’t easily attack?”
“Most of them, yes.”
Tobias stops as he reaches the bottom of the ramp. Most of them?
“Most of them?” Nia echoes.
Conifer, adjusting something on one of the brackets holding up the walls, says, “There are more tunnels deeper down, but they are not easily reached, wrapped in the Tree’s roots as they are. They're surrounded by a wall too thick to dig through without risk of damaging the Tree itself.”
“What were those tunnels used for?” Jaz asks, scooping dirt into Nia’s bucket and kicking everyone back into motion.
Conifer pauses to look over at the group of them, hanging on to his every word in their boredom. He sighs. “I asked one of the older diggers about it once, and he said they used to be storage bunkers before they became too inconvenient to access. They haven’t been used in decades, at least.”
“Huh,” Nia says, crouched by Jaz and helping scoop errant soil into her bucket. “Wonder what they kept down there?”
“Treasure?” Ezra suggests, glancing over his shoulder with a toothy grin.
“Don’t be dumb,” Andyn grumbles, speaking up for the first time in a while. “Probably just supplies or something.”
“Aw, you’re no fun.”
“We aren’t supposed to be having fun,” Andyn retorts.
Even Tobias rolls his eyes at that, and he knows he’s a stick in the mud.
Conversation trails off again, dampened by Andyn’s comment and their own exhaustion.

Tobias isn’t sure how much time passes before they’re instructed to take a break again. They still have some water and berries left, so no one is tasked with going to grab more from the cafeteria floor.
Tobias flops onto the ground and shoves a berry into his mouth, staring up at the ceiling where a few fragments of blue crystals are still wedged into the soil, glowing faintly. Nia lies down near him, for once a normal distance apart and not leeching his warmth. Ezra and Jaz join the two of them on their own backs a moment later. It’s quieter than their first break as they all try to catch their breath. Tobias flexes his tired, cramping fingers and arms.
“What kind of gemstones are those?” Nia eventually asks, also staring up at the ceiling. “I’ve been meaning to ask.”
“The tunnel crystals?” Jaz asks.
“Yeah! They’re so pretty. Do you know what they are?”
“Can’t be any form of evolutionary stone,” Ezra says. “Would’ve been mined out of here in a heartbeat.”
"Really?" Andyn scoffs. Tobias notices for the first time that she’s the only one still standing, shifting on her hooves impatiently and watching Abana and Conifer work. “It's not like evolutionary stones are worth all that much when we can't evolve anymore.”
“Before that, Anne.”
For a moment, Tobias considers that they could be the stones used to make damp rocks, which extend the use of rain dance. The caves beneath Asra had been lined with the crystals to make smooth rocks and heat rocks, after all. But the Lexym Guild hasn’t ever been a particularly rainy place. No more than anywhere else, at least.
Nia sighs. “We should’ve asked Carnelian. I bet he would’ve loved looking at these.”
“Carnelian?” Ezra asks.
Nia sits up to meet the sneasel’s eyes. “Yeah! He’s a researcher we met on the way back from Shivergleam! Apparently he was called in to look at some weird stones at the base of the mountains north of here.”
“The Silenfroar range?” Jaz asks.
“Yup! I bet he’d know what these are.”
“Does it matter what they are?” Andyn cuts in, voice sharp. She’s now pacing lightly back and forth.
Conversation stops as everyone watches her.
Out of the corner of his eye, Tobias sees Nia’s ears lower, just a bit. “Oh. I mean…I guess not, no, but…”
“It’d be fun to know, right?” Jaz says.
Andyn doesn’t answer.
Tobias sits up to glare at the deerling, half-wishing she’d notice and pick a fight so he had an excuse to battle. Just because Andyn is in a mood doesn’t mean she can take it out on Nia and the others. Is this all because she isn’t happy with their mission today? Tobias isn’t exactly thrilled about it either, but you don’t see him throwing a fit about it.
Abana calls them back over to work soon after, and Tobias channels his irritation into dumping his heavy bucket of dirt with a bit more force than necessary.

It’s quiet as they work. Just the soft shift of dirt and the occasional louder sound of hooves and claws chipping away at stone. Measured, raspy breaths and wood-heavy footsteps. Normally Nia—and probably Ezra, too, if Tobias had to guess—would never be silent for so long, but the work keeps them busy.
It’s almost too quiet, until Andyn speaks up.
“Why don’t we just use attacks to clear this out?” She pants. “My bullet seed could—"
“No moves,” Abana says, voice hard.
Andyn clamps her mouth shut. Everyone stops to give the hippowdon their full attention.
“This tunnel is unstable right now,” Abana says, meeting Andyn’s gaze until the deerling looks away. “Careless attacks will bring the whole cave down on top of us.”
“And then we will have to dig you out, and redo all of our hard work,” Conifer calls from within the shelf. “If you even survive the initial collapse.”
“That makes sense for us,” Ezra says, wiping some dirt from his cheek. “But you’re ground types, right? Couldn’t you just dig this tunnel out real quick with some of your moves?”
Abana gives the sneasel an amused look. “Can you perfectly control an avalanche, little flurry? Mold it to form a castle of ice and snow with a flick of your claw?”
Ezra tilts his head. “Oh. No, I definitely can’t do that.”
“The earth is similar,” Abana says. She scoops a divot out of the hard dirt as easily as swiping aside snow. “We could dig through it on our own in minutes, but if we want the tunnels to stand strong on their own even when we aren’t here, we must build them up more carefully than that. They must stand under their own weight without relying on our powers.”
There’s a moment of quiet as they all digest those words.
“This is the only tunnel that caved in, right?” Jaz asks. “So they must be pretty stable.”
Abana nods, red eyes trained on the gap where more dirt rains from Conifer’s digging. “This tunnel is used less often than the others so it didn't get checked as regularly. We’ll monitor it closer from now on to make sure it can withstand future quakes.”
Tobias frowns as he sets his empty bucket down in front of Jaz. He doesn’t like the way Abana said that—like future quakes are a certainty and not just a potential thing. Although with the increase in natural disasters, he guesses it makes sense that she wants to be prepared.
Everyone else must pick up on Abana’s implication too, because the silence that falls over the group feels heavier than it did before.

They have to have been working for more than four hours at this point. Tobias’ arms, shoulders, and back are screaming at him, pained from the constant lift and carry of a bucket almost as heavy as he is. He notices Nia and Jaz slowing down as they lose steam, and more than once Nia trips over her own paws and has to right herself.
Tobias feels like he’s been rolling around in the desert, gritty soil coating his scales and crusting under his claws. Even with his job having the least hands-on contact with the dirt, he swears he’s tasting the stuff. The only reason Tobias hasn’t complained much—out loud, at least—is because he knows he needs to save his breath.
Andyn doesn’t seem to have the same reservations. Tobias can hear her occasionally cursing under her breath as she works on loosening the soil with Ezra. She hasn’t slowed down at all, still as fervent as she was hours earlier. It’d be admirable if Tobias wasn’t still irked at her for her earlier attitude.
Ezra had initially been snickering at some of her comments, but at some point that had stopped. Tobias doesn’t think anything of that shift until he hears the sneasel whisper something to Andyn with a concerned note in his voice. Jaz, who had been refilling Tobias’ bucket with soil, pauses and looks up at their leader as well.
“No, I’m not okay,” Andyn snaps, louder than her partner. “We should be doing something more important than digging out stupid tunnels, Ez!”
Tobias snorts. “Well we’re not, so get over it.”
Andyn whirls around, barely keeping her footing on the shifting soil. “Oh, you shut it!”
“Whoa, Anne—”
“O-Okay, maybe we should—”
Tobias curls his lip and takes a step forward, flexing his claws. “No, let her talk.”
“We are not starting a fight here,” Jaz says, stepping in front of Tobias. He glares down at the stufful, expecting her to falter, but she holds his gaze with a firm stare. Her striped tail twitches to Tobias’ left. Tobias follows the movement and glances at Conifer, whose narrowed gaze has switched from Abana’s digging over to them. Watching.
Tobias growls, backing up a step. He is not going to get in trouble just because of this stupid deerling’s attitude problem.
“Andyn,” Jaz soothes, turning around to look up at her teammate. “Deep breath.”
“No! We’re better than this, Jaz!” Andyn says, voice bordering on a shout. “Cleanup duty? That looks like a punishment!”
The deerling sounds angry, but as Tobias looks at her face, he thinks she looks…scared, almost. Brown eyes wide, a noticeable tremble to her mouth even from a distance away. Against his will, some of Tobias’ own fury drains away.
Huh.
“Andyn,” Jaz says, voice firmer than Tobias has ever heard it. “Breathe.”
Ezra steps closer to the deerling and lays a paw on her shoulder, taking an exaggerated breath. Andyn’s expression melts into something a bit more grounded at his touch, annoyance showing through instead of fear. Reluctantly, she shuts her eyes and takes a shaky breath. Then another. And another.
When Andyn has breathed for a minute, tense stance a bit more relaxed, Jaz says, “Good. Go get the next round of water for everyone, please.”
Andyn’s eyes open, dismayed. “But—"
“Andyn,” Jaz says, unyielding.
The deerling frowns down at the stufful for a moment. Two. Then she spots Conifer still watching the whole scene silently, and stiffens. Immediately, she shrugs Ezra off and springs lightly down the pile of rock and soil, slipping past Tobias, Nia and Jaz. Back down the tunnel and towards the guild.
In the silence that follows, Ezra and Jaz glance first at Conifer, who has remained pointedly silent, and then at Nia and Tobias. Ezra almost looks embarrassed, while Jaz just looks…tired.
“Is she all right?” Nia asks, paws wringing nervously.
“Yes,” Jaz sighs. “Just give her a bit.”
Tobias and Nia exchange a doubtful look, but hesitantly get back to work as Ezra and Jaz start digging and scooping as if nothing had even happened. Still, the quiet left in Andyn’s wake is somehow even more stifling than before. Tobias is just glad that Conifer didn’t say anything about the deerling’s little freakout—as much as Tobias doesn’t like her, even he doesn’t want to deal with that secondhand embarrassment.
With Andyn gone and only one ‘mon loosening the soil, unfortunately the work moves twice as slowly as it did before. So slowly that Tobias and Nia are forced to sit and wait minutes at a time for Ezra to break down the rocks and clumps of dirt enough to pass along to Jaz. While the break should feel nice, Tobias is instead annoyed with the delay in progress. Eventually, he stands and puts his bucket aside with a quiet clang.
Nia, who had also been waiting at Jaz’s side and helping her scoop, turns to him. “Tobias?”
“I’m switching for a bit,” He mumbles, moving past them and scrambling his way up the pile of soil to Ezra’s side. The dirt beneath him shifts and gives under his feet, making his ascent much less dignified than he’d like. Still, Ezra needs help in order to pick up the pace. And Tobias wants to talk to him anyways, away from Conifer and Nia’s ears.
“Oh, hey,” Ezra says, blinking at Tobias. A hesitant grin crosses his face. “Couldn’t resist the most glamorous part of the job, huh?”
Tobias snorts. “Hardly.” He immediately gets to work breaking up the soil and rock in front of him with his claws before sending it farther down the pile to Jaz and Nia. “You were being too slow. And I have a question for you.”
Ezra resumes his own digging, ears angled Tobias’ way. “Well, you’ve got me! What’s up?”
Tobias works silently for a few moments, unsure of how to start. He’d been trained on this area a little bit, apprenticed under Maggie and living in such close quarters to Fen up on the medical floor. But it’s not exactly a comfortable question. Tobias would prefer to ask Andyn directly, but he has a feeling she wouldn’t tell him the truth regardless. And Ezra would likely know.
“Andyn,” Tobias starts, hesitant. “She seemed…panicked, earlier. During her little yelling fit.”
Ezra stops digging, visibly surprised. “You noticed that?”
“I’m not blind.”
Ezra is quiet for a long moment, before he goes back to digging. “No, I guess you’re not.”
Tobias narrows his eyes at the careful non-answer. “Does this have anything to do with what you mentioned yesterday in our quarters? About her parents having high expectations?”
Ezra winces. “…Yeah. Don’t tell her I told you, but uh. She’s freaking out a bit about what her parents will think of us taking this job.”
So Tobias guessed right. He frowns, digging harder into the rocky soil to break it up into smaller chunks. “Her parents don’t hurt her, right?”
“What?” Ezra’s head snaps up. “No! Arceus, no, nothing like that. They’re just…they have really high expectations. Too high. And they kind of…ignore Andyn for a while, if she does something they don’t like. Like taking on a cave cleanup mission instead of something more, uh. Flashy.”
Tobias’ own digging stops so he can stare at Ezra, almost in disbelief. Maggie would never ignore him or Nia to punish them for a mistake, let alone for the crime of…doing their job?
“Yeah,” Ezra agrees with a weak laugh. “Her parents are harsh. But their opinions mean everything to her. Jaz and I have tried to tell her before how messed up it is when they ignore her like that, but she refuses hear it.”
“Stubborn,” Tobias says without thinking.
Ezra’s eyes twinkle at him, as if to say, You’re one to talk, before his smile drops and he turns back to their work. Tobias follows his lead. “We try to tell her she’s more than what she achieves or what she can do, but it’s…hard. She’s almost tougher on herself than they are. I honestly don’t know if she could handle it if we ever failed a mission.”
“Maybe it would do her some good to fail,” Tobias mutters. Everything he’s learned since becoming a Seeker seems to have come from him messing up in one way or another, so. It could be good for her to see that she can fail and the world won’t end. Stupid parents’ opinions aside.
Tobias wishes the consequences of he and Nia’s responsibilities were so small-scale.
Tobias shoves that bitter thought aside. It’s not Andyn’s fault that Tobias and Nia have been saddled with the impossibly large task of saving the world. Just because their problem is so big doesn’t mean that Andyn’s family situation isn't terrible, too.
Tobias had been worried that Ezra would chatter endlessly when Tobias joined him in digging, since he’s a new and exciting target to prod at, but the sneasel is blessedly quiet after their little conversation. They work side-by-side on their own portions of the soil, save for Ezra occasionally taking over on a particularly difficult chunk of rock to break apart. Sharp as Tobias’ talons are—or were, before he dulled them on all this dirt—they’re still no match for a sneasel’s massive claws.
Tobias works with the dark-type until Jaz and Nia have more than their work cut out for them below. Then he huffs and sits back, wiping a wisp of steam from his brow.
Ezra spares him a glance. “Break time?”
“Moving back to bucket duty,” Tobias answers, already turning and sliding back down to the ground.
“Actually, it's a good time for a break,” Abana says from above them, shuffling her way out of the hole she’s been digging in. Her huge head blocks the opening entirely, and Tobias isn’t actually sure how she manages to squeeze in and out of there.
“Thank goodness,” Nia groans, stumbling back against the cart and sliding to the ground. “I’m ready to drop.”
Tobias goes to stand at her side, leaning against the cart himself. He looks down at the top of Nia’s head and has the incredibly strong urge to flick one of her ears. He stuffs the impulse down as Ezra and Jaz trudge over to join them.
“Guess Anne’s not back with the water yet,” Ezra sighs, flopping down.
“Should someone go check on her?” Nia asks, clearly worried.
“Nah, let her work off some steam,” Ezra says, waving away her concerns. “She’ll be back soon.”
“After dumping her part of the work on you,” Tobias grumbles.
“Yeah, but that just means I got to work beside my new best buddy,” Ezra says with a cheeky grin. “A real warm and fuzzy fellow. Gotta love him.”
Tobias wants to flick the sneasel’s ear too, but much more violently. Too bad he’s out of reach.
After that, Jaz and Nia chat for a bit, still trying to figure out what kind of stones line the tunnels and who they could ask to find out. Ezra is lying on his back like a staryu, eyes closed, and Tobias could almost believe he was asleep if not for how his ears angle to catch the girls’ conversation.
Tobias feels his own restlessness build the longer they wait for Andyn to return, until it’s tinged with irritation. Distraught or not over her parents’ judgement, the deerling was sent out to get them water. Tobias’ throat is bone-dry and he’s sure the others are thirsty, too. Soon enough they’ll be called back to work.
“I’ll be back,” Tobias says, pushing off the cart.
Nia blinks up at him. “Where’re you going?”
“I’m gonna drag that little twig back here with our drinks.”
“What?” Nia scrambles to her paws. “Tobias, I don’t think—if anyone’s going to check up on Andyn, maybe I should. I don’t know if you two should, uh…talk right now, when she’s already upset.”
Tobias gives Nia a dry look. “And if she’s still in a mood and refuses to come back? Or tells you to leave her alone?”
Nia winces. She glances down at Jaz and Ezra as if to ask if one of them would rather go.
Tobias is half-expecting the two other members of Team Evergreen to be just as alarmed as Nia, but instead Jaz looks almost…thoughtful. Eventually, she shakes her head. “I won’t be able to say anything to her I haven’t said before. I’m all right with you going.”
Ezra has sat up again, but he’s leaning back leisurely on his hands. He smiles at Tobias with more familiarity than Tobias feels he earned in their brief time talking atop the cave-in pile. “Nah, I think Tobias has this covered. Go for it.”
Tobias is sure he and Nia are sharing identical expressions of surprise. He…didn’t actually think they’d agree so easily. He isn’t sure how to feel about the sudden show of faith.
…He’ll deal with that later.
Tobias looks back to Nia. “Satisfied?”
Nia still seems unsure. Her gaze flicks behind him, in the direction Andyn ran off to earlier. “I-I guess. Just…try not to fight, okay?”
“No promises,” Tobias says, spinning on his heel and setting off down the tunnel. Nia sputters at the answer, but doesn’t chase after him.
Tobias quickly arrives at the open area where the mission boards are stationed. There are a few Pokemon moving to or from the web of tunnels surrounding the space, but the crowd from earlier has largely cleared out.
Tobias frowns, looking around. If Andyn actually went to get them water and hydration berries, she would’ve had to go upstairs to the cafeteria floor. He walks over to the steps, but pauses when his eye catches an out-of-place form at the entrance of one of the other tunnels. He blinks, noting the large ears and long, spindly legs as the Pokemon paces back and forth in the mouth of the cave. Andyn.
Tobias takes a bracing breath and marches over to meet her. As he gets closer, he sees that she at least did get the water and berries, both packs strapped across her back and dangling with every step.
Andyn’s ears angle around as he approaches, and she turns to face him in the blue light of the tunnel. Her tense expression sours further. “Great. First today’s mission and now this. What do you want?”
Tobias opens his mouth to say that he was sent to check on her. Maybe even joke that they need the water before they die of thirst. He opens his mouth to say that her parents are horrible and that she should stop caring so much about what they think.
Instead, what he says is, “I want you to come back and do your job.”
Andyn’s eyes narrow. “I am doing my job. Don’t act so high and mighty—it's not like you’re happy to be doing this stupid mission.”
Tobias snorts. “Of course I’m not happy about it. It’s exhausting and mind-numbing and I’m gonna be picking dirt out of my scales for a week. It sucks. But it’s gotta get done.”
Andyn rolls her eyes. “Yeah, but they could’ve at least gotten the total newbies to do it instead.”
There it is again. This apparent belief Andyn holds that low-level work is beneath her. Or at least not good enough for her oh-so-important parents. Tobias has only been partnered with the deerling for a day and he’s already tired of everyone dancing around this.
“We’re helping the guild,” Tobias growls. “It’s one day of work. Do you really need to whine about it so much?”
Andyn has the gall to look offended. “I am not whining! And you’re one to talk! I didn’t see you do anything but mope around and snap at everyone for years until Nia made you a pity partner!”
Tobias' lip curls. Right for the throat, huh? Sorry Nia, but if Andyn wants a fight, she’ll get a fight. “And yet I’m not the one throwing a temper tantrum.”
“I am not throwing a tantrum!" Andyn says, stomping a hoof. “We’re better than this! Even you two are better than this! We should be doing something actually worthy of a Seeker! This just looks like—like cleaning duties!”
“And that’s not good enough for a perfect Seeker like you, is it? Arceus, it shouldn’t matter who does what! It doesn’t make you better than someone else just because you’re a higher rank!”
“I know that!” Andyn protests.
“Do you?”
“Of course!” Andyn huffs. “But my parents—"
“Entei, shut up about your parents!” Tobias shouts, throwing up his hands. “Clearly they’re awful!”
Andyn takes a threatening step forward. “Take that back. I'm tired of everyone saying that! My parents just want what’s best for me! I just need to get better!”
“You ever think that your parents getting mad about you helping the guild makes them the problem here, not you?”
Andyn’s expression twists. “Oh, that’s easy for you to say! You have Maggie as a parent. She doesn’t care if you’re a screw-up.”
Tobias scoffs, though the words hurt more than he expects. If only because no one has echoed his own thoughts so clearly before.
Andyn glares Tobias down. If she’s regretful at all about her words, it doesn’t show.
Tobias crosses his arms. “You’re right. Maggie doesn’t care that I’m a screw-up, just that I’m trying. Because she’s actually a good parent.”
For a moment, Tobias is positive that Andyn is about to launch an attack at him. She’s practically quivering with fury. “My parents are good parents! They just want me to be the best Seeker I can be!”
“And that’s worth turning you into a nervous wreck, apparently.”
“I’m fine!” Andyn shrieks.
“Oh yeah, obviously.”
“You don’t know what you’re talking about! You’re lucky. No one ever expects anything from you!”
Her words are loud enough to echo down the tunnel. For a brief moment, Tobias thinks of Giratina and the whole Pokemon world, depending on him and Nia to keep it safe. Then, Tobias thinks of Vivi, of her scared little face looking up at him, latching onto him too tight with her claws. Terrified but trusting that her big brother will keep her safe.
Rage surges in Tobias’ chest like magma, and he takes a step forward to meet Andyn in the middle of the tunnel.
“I had someone who expected everything from me!” Tobias snarls. His eyes feel hot. His chest feels hot. Everything is heat. “But I let her down. And I have been trying so hard to make up for that ever since.”
Normally Tobias would be embarrassed by the way his voice cracks. But Andyn’s anger finally falters. Her breath catches as she steps back, suddenly looking unsure. So Tobias continues.
“Messing up isn’t the end of the world. It’s normal. Everyone messes up—even your stupid parents! They aren’t perfect, and you shouldn’t have to be either! And if this is all it takes to set you off? Not getting the perfect mission that you were hoping for this morning? I honestly hope you never find out what it’s like to mess up when you really, really can’t afford to.”
Andyn stares. Silence falls. Tobias’ tail flame is larger than usual thanks to his emotions, fighting with the cool blue glow of the tunnel’s gemstones.
“C’mon,” he growls. “Let’s just go already. They’ll be wondering where we are.”
“Tobias,” Andyn says, voice hushed. “I…”
“I don’t want to hear it.”
Tobias turns and heads back to the mission boards. He doesn’t hear Andyn follow, but he doesn’t make himself stop to wait. He storms past the other guild members still milling about on the ground floor. Then he continues to the tunnel with the cave-in where he left everyone else.
“There you are!” Nia says when he rounds the last bend in the tunnel. Her happy expression fades as soon as she gets a good look at his face. “Is everything okay?”
“Fine,” Tobias says, sharper than he means to.
Ezra and Jaz look worried too, quickly picking up on his mood. Their gazes move past him, probably searching for Andyn.
After an awkward moment of silence, Nia’s ears perk. Tobias watches as Andyn trots into the tunnel after him. Stubbornly refusing to meet anyone’s eyes, the deerling stops briefly at their group to bite the straps of her cargo loose. The canteen and the bundle of hydration fruits drop to the dirt. Without a word, she climbs the pile of soil and gets back to work jabbing away at rock and dirt with her tiny hooves.
“Anne?” Ezra calls, hesitant.
Andyn doesn’t answer.
Ezra and Jaz trade an uneasy, loaded look, but with the experience of someone used to the situation, simply let it lie. They both take a few gulps of water and then get back to work at their own stations. Ezra glances at Andyn when he reaches the top of the dirt pile, but seems to decide against pushing her any further.
Nia looks between them all with wide eyes, ears pinned back. “Guys..? Shouldn’t we—”
“Not now, Nia,” Tobias grunts, picking up the first full bucket Jaz scoots behind her and turning to take it to the cart. He certainly doesn’t want to talk this out right now, and he’s sure Andyn doesn’t, either. Poking at them in their current state won’t end well for anyone. He can still feel embers glowing in his flame sac, ready for a fight.
Abana, at least, doesn’t say anything about the sudden tension aside from a lifting of her brows. The diggers keep to their own business, apparently.
In choking silence, they get back to work.
Dig.
Scoop.
Carry.
Dump.
Repeat.
Tobias lets his mind blank out as much as possible, which isn’t too difficult as the exhaustion of the day truly starts to set in. He deliberately ignores Andyn’s furious digging, and avoids Nia’s concerned looks, too.
Tobias isn’t sure if they’ve actually worked as long as they were supposed to when Conifer suddenly calls for them to quit for the day, or if the toedscruel is just tired of the tension in the air.
Regardless, Tobias is relieved to finally set his bucket down by the cart and observe the fruits of all their labor. They managed to fill up most of the cart with soil, but even that is a hardly noticeable dent in the mountain of dirt left from the cave-in.
Well. Not his problem, at least for the rest of the day.
Ezra and Jaz join him and Nia by the cart. Andyn keeps working until Conifer pointedly clears his throat. Then, the deerling sighs, rough and annoyed, before turning and bounding down the soil with more energy than she should reasonably have.
“Come on,” the grass type says as she passes by, looking ahead with her gaze unwavering. “We need to tell them our shift is over.”
“Andyn—” Nia starts.
The deerling doesn’t even break her stride. She continues down the tunnel without losing pace until she's around the bend and out of sight.
Nia wilts, looking hurt. Tobias feels his own irritation with the deerling tick up a notch further.
“Will she be okay?” Nia asks.
Ezra and Jaz look first at each other, then at Tobias.
“I didn’t do anything!” He hisses, tail flame flaring defensively.
“We weren’t accusing you, dude,” Ezra says. “But…”
“You said something to her,” Jaz finishes. Tobias would bristle at her words, if her tone wasn't so calm. Thoughtful. “Something that made her think.”
Tobias shrugs, hating the feeling of their eyes probing at him.
“Hm.” Jaz looks at him for a moment longer, then nods with a small smile. “Well, thank you both for working with us today. Hopefully in the future any team-ups we do will go a bit smoother.”
And with that, the little stufful toddles off down the tunnel after her leader.
“We can just tell the servine that you finished up your shift, if you want?” Ezra offers, looking a bit awkward. “So you don’t have to, uh…”
Don’t have to bump into Andyn again.
“That’d be great, Ezra,” Nia says, giving him a smile. “Thank you.”
The sneasel nods, looking relieved, and hurries after his teammates with a wave. “See you later!”
When it’s just the two of them and they’ve stepped a safe distance away from Abana and Conifer, Nia turns to Tobias, brow furrowed. “Tobias—"
“I don’t want to talk about it,” Tobias says, barely keeping his voice even. He’s still simmering, but Nia doesn’t deserve him snapping at her. “We argued. Something came up with my family. It’s done.”
Nia doesn’t look satisfied by that answer, and opens her mouth to speak before visibly stopping herself. Then, she tilts her head. “Um. Want to grab some food and go see Maggie?”
Tobias is immeasurably relieved that Nia isn’t pushing the issue. At least not right now. But for once, Tobias hesitates at the offer. Maggie would help him feel better, but she’s probably busy right now. It’s only midday, even if it feels like it should be later.
“Or we could go back to our room and rest for a bit?”
“Our room.”
Nia offers a small smile and holds out a paw. Tobias stares at it for a moment, wrestling between embarrassment and his desire to take it. Nia laughs softly and makes the decision for him, linking their soil-rough palms together before tugging him away. She calls out a goodbye and thanks to Abana and Conifer as she goes.
Tobias does feel better after grabbing something to eat and returning to the privacy of their room. He even gives himself a light flame bath to burn away some of the dirt on his scales. Nia watches the process with a look of pure fascination (like a weirdo).
Afterwards, she laments her own lack of a shower before wondering if it’d be strange to ask Felix to use his water moves on her. Tobias pictures the wartortle accidentally hydro pumping her through a wall, and surprises himself with the loud bark of laughter that mental image prompts.
Nia’s stunned expression only eggs him on, and he can’t seem to stop laughing at the idea. Maybe it’s just the relief of getting to relax in their room after the tension of the morning, or his own exhaustion, but he laughs and laughs and laughs.
Nia joins him after a brief, awed silence. Tobias tries to explain why he’s laughing so hard and only gets halfway through the sentence before cracking up all over again. Nia seems to get the gist, though, because her delighted giggles kick up to match his own.
Nia is lying beside him on the plush red of their rug when the cycle finally stops, both of them still trying to catch their breath as they wipe away tears. Tobias marvels at how his stomach aches. He hasn’t laughed so hard in…well, probably at least a few years. It’s good. It distracts him from the long morning, and from all the regrets and worries that have been weighing on his mind.
As stressful as the day has been, Tobias is glad now more than ever that he has Nia as a partner.

hq headcanons <3 karasuno
Hinata genuinely cannot hate anyone; Not because he's incapable of doing so, but because he constantly sees and wishes for the best for everyone he comes across. (Even those that have wronged him.) (tears up) (BUT HE HATES PEOPLE JUST in very small degrees)
Kageyama is socially constipated, canon, but to the point where he kind of doesn't get jokes. Not because of the fact that he's socially constipated, but also because he's dumdum
Tsukishima makes homemade dino nuggets. I cant elaborate on this other than : he hates overly processed food and if he could make everything homemade, he would.
Kiyoko loves loves LOVES Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, and basically? musical classics.
Yamaguchi loves burgers, fries, onion rings, wings, ranch, you name it. caww caww
Tsukishima & Yamaguchi had a nerdy thing in middle school where they would have full-blown conversations via chem symbols. AS IN: Yama: Tennessine Uranium Potassium^2 Iodine Iodine Sulfur Sulfur + T + Uranium Phosphorus Iodine Dysprosium - Y. Tsukki: stop talking shit about me damn.
UHH Yachi listens to baby metal!!
Asahi loves sweet and sour fish. He looks like he would.
Sugawara would eat salmon roe for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if his mum let him. This man also regularly eats grocery sushi and doesn't heat up his 7/11 onigiri.
Daichi in the Police force had tons of officers squealing over him, he peaked in adulthood.
Tanaka swears that if he weren't bald he wouldn't have managed to be with someone like Kiyoko and Kiyoko thinks that if Tanaka had hair, he'd look like even more of a mobster than he already does.
Nishinoya loveslovesLOVES! pokemon. He loves Pikachu but thinks he'll get no chicks if he shows it off so he discreetly (not really lol) shows off the fact that he likes Pikachu to his friends.

A Purple Christmas

Mafia!Judgement Day x Little!Fem!Y/N

~
Feeling the cool air in her room and soon the light shining on her face, Y/N smiled as she had a long night getting stuff together for her sweethearts while they were at work handling business. The presents one by one still in her room. She wanted to make something practical, that they would wear all the time so she took the time to make bracelets. For each one of them has a special charm. She opened her eyes slow and she yawned some hearing holiday music downstairs. Getting up slow stretching, going to do her usual face routine and putting on slippers peeking out the doorway trying to look downstairs. JD walked by the hallways and smirked seeing her some, motioning her to come down as he was carrying gifts as well. She nodded and went back to grab the bag full of boxes. She walked down carefully and squealed soon getting scooped up by Finn. “Merry Christmas little munchkin!” He growled and play tickled her holding her tight so she doesn’t fall. That got everyone attention and gave a smile to the whole group seeing her smile in the morning. “There’s my little princess!” Rhea squealed some as she loved the holidays the most and had her big gift ready between her legs. Finn put her down in her favorite chair in the living room and kissed her on the forehead one last time before going to his pile ready for her. “Ok so, Dom and Damian are fixing breakfast, and I know you’re hungry but we made a wheel so you can do something before we eat.” JD gave her the wheel kissing her forehead as well before sitting back down. “Is papa making pancakes?” Y/N ask as she examining the wheel. “Your favorite pancakes and fruit bowl. They also made some bacon and eggs.” JD answered as he fixed the three gifts he got Y/N on his side of the L-Couch. “Yummy! But ok I’ll pick now! I wanna exchange my gifts as well!” She smiled happy as she spun the wheel.
The first name was Dominic, “Dom Dom! Come on in here. JD tag in with him.” Rhea instructed and both nodded trading places. Dom smiled and went to Y/N kissing her all over and giving her three small boxes and one giant one. “Open them in any order babydoll.” He watched closely as Y/N started to open them, the first was a pandora bracelet, blank canvas, her last one was broke from a raid that happened to their house earlier in the year and two of her charms were stolen. Dominik protected her while the others handled the men that intruded and held her close in her room calming her down so she wouldn’t have a panic attack. After that he wanted to check but she didn’t want him to leave so he stayed and comforted her the whole time. Y/N shed a tear and he smiled placing it on her wrist for her. She smiled at the small engravement and kissed his nose. “Thank you Dom.” Y/N loved it. The other two were boxes with 3 charms in it each for the bracelet, he slowly restored it back for her and added more. And the big gift was next. “I hope you love it ,it was literally the last one.” He smiled. She opened it smiling seeing it was a giant gengar, a limited edition one that was a pale purple. “You got me a shiny gengar!” She squealed as it was one of Y/Ns Pokemon on her team. She helped Dom get into Pokemon and they always play the newest game the DLCs and battle each other. Y/N held the stuffie close to her and kissed Dom on the cheeks making him blush. Little did he know that Finn already spun the wheel and shoved him to the side excited. “Hey!” He was ready for a fight with Finn and his cheeky smile but Rhea put an end to that giving a look to both. “Stop the rough housing and gift her.” Rhea hissed. She giggled and tossed Dom his gift she made him, “Don’t open it yet ok?” He nodded smiling at the semi wrapped well gift.
Finn proudly took gengar and put him to the side of her and gave her two gifts and one big one. “Sure that was sweet and all pipsqueak but mine is gonna take the cake.” Damien overheard him rolling his eyes and in the process saying in his language “Se va a llevar el pastel solo porque ayudé.” (It’s gonna take the cake only because I helped.) JD smirked some knowing what he said and Finn rolled his eyes. “Why is papa Damien so mean to me?” Finn pouted and it made Y/N pout hugging him. “Ok lass go at it.” She giggled and she started to tear the gifts open. One box contained a beautiful necklace, with Finn’s initials. “Awwww finny…” she smiled and Finn helped her put it on. She opened the next and it was vinyls that she wanted for her collection, limited edition. The last one was an envelope, she looked at it and she teared the top opening it and seeing it was tickets to her favorite artist. She squealed to the top of her lungs and she jumps up and down soon gripping on to Finn hugging him koala style. She’s been wanting to go to the concert for a while but due to how everything is set up she couldn’t go by herself. But Finn took the time to talk to Rhea and she subsided her overprotective ways for her this once, but there was a twist. He had to go with her. “I thought you did like my music teddy bear…” she pouted looking up. He sigh swallowing his pride and shrugged. “Eh I’ll live. It’s only one night and you’ve been wanting to go so bad.” He kissed her and hugged her close. The last gift she opened was another large stuffed animal, the pokemon mudkip. “You said it reminded you of me so why not?” He laughed some. She hugged it close and kissed his cheek giving him his gift. “Don’t open it just yet.” She stopped him before he opened it like a kid on Christmas. He nodded fast and Damien finally finished up breakfast.
After that they started up the wheel again, and Rhea was next. She smiled and she placed her gifts in front of Y/N sitting in front of her watching her rip them open. One small one and one big one. She started with the little one. A necklace, a small locket with her and Rhea in a photo. “Mama I love it.” She smiled and Rhea helped her put it on layering it so it doesn’t overlaps Finn’s. “Now this is very special babygirl, this was passed down in my family. And mama loves you so much that she’s giving it to you. You mean the world to mama, to finny, to Papa and Dom Dom and JJ. You mean everything to us. So I want you to have this ok?”Y/N teared up and Rhea kissed her tears away giggling. “No crying baby. We love you.” Y/N sniffles hugging her again. And the big gift was a giant mimikyu, she was grateful for all the stuffed animals but she’s scared she won’t have any more space in her bed. Next was Damien, he smiled and got his three gifts. “Ok flower, I can’t top tears or squeals I honestly just want that beautiful smile I love seeing.” She nodded and she started to unopen gifts. Damien was always the calm note in Y/Ns time being with them. She would have night terrors and she would need comfort and Damien was always there to calm her and hum to her. One night as they were having a meeting and drinks, and Y/N doesn’t do people well. She walked down the steps to get some water from the kitchen, running into one of the security guards for the other gang that was visiting for a meeting. She was in a big shirt and slippers, saying excuse me to the guard. But he was blocking her way, taunting her some. “You must be the goths pet.” He smirked and looked at her up and down. She was getting uncomfortable, “p-please move…” she said low and the man smirked getting to her level. “I could eat you alive talking to me like that pet.” She was shaking some whimpering and she ran the other way quick upstairs. The man wanted to follow her but was stopped by the last person he wanted to see. “Where are you going?” Damien hissed and looking down at the shorter man, “No where man-“ “I wouldn’t lie. Try again.” The guard was silent and Damien sighed. He walked away and went upstairs slow hearing some crying upstairs.
Damien was growing angry hearing her cry, he hated tears falling from her beautiful face. He knocked on the door and soon hear nothing. “Mamas can I come in?” He heard a broken yes and walked in seeing her hiding under her blanket. “Princess…are you ok?” Damien asked low. He slowly uncovered her from under the blanket and saw that her eyes were puffy, and her knife in her hand. “Baby, why do you have that? Were you protecting yourself?” She nodded fast putting the knife on the other side and getting in his arms crying. Damien was so hurt and that put rage in his heart, someone wanting to touch what’s theirs. He rocked her to calm her down, “I just wanted some water, I’m sorry papa I shouldn’t have left my room…he scared me…” she said in the middle of sobbing. He rocked her more and hummed in her ear holding her close. “No one is ever gonna hurt you angel. Not while we are around.” That was a promise. And the man that bothered Y/N, well Damien put Y/N to sleep and dragged that man outside doing some unspeakable things. His anger is something not to be tampered with. Or what he loves.
Y/N opened beautiful gifts from Damien, handwoven jewelry and rings with beautiful gems inside. “I’m scared to even wear these…” she muttered. It was so beautiful that she feels if she wears them they will crumble to dust. “You don’t have to wear them now baby but I’m so glad you love them.” He smiled and kissed her forehead and nose making her giggle. She put on the woven bracelet and smiled at the beautiful colors. While they discussed some in the living room happy that she’s admiring the gifts there’s still one more person. JD. He was honest nervous about giving his gifts. He’s been with the crew for a while but not as long as they stuck together, and they all been sticking together as a family. Sometimes JD feels like he intrudes into a lot even though he works with them. “JJ?” The sweetest voice took him out of his thoughts and he looked up seeing Y/N over him as he was sat down. “You wanna open mine with everyone first?” She asked feeling he was a bit nervous on his first Christmas. He saw the box in her hand and nodded. They all started to open their gifts and they all saw a homemade bracelet. “I know it’s not much I just didn’t wanna let you guys be without this year…” she rubbed her hands together slightly nervous from their expressions. “Babygirl it’s beautiful..” Finn smiled putting it on seeing it was a black and followed by his favorite color. The same patterns with everyone else and special charms that symbolized them. JD saw his charm seeing it was a small angel. “You are one of my protectors no matter how long I’ve known I thank you everyday for loving me, accepting me and being here for me JJ..” he sniffled some letting a tear fall. “Thank you dollface.” He kissed her cheek hugging her. Dominik has an angel and a mood checker charm, symbolizing him watching her and communicating her moods and tempers, when she wants to be little and hide away, he’s her protecter and keep her moods in check so she can survive. Rhea has the angel and a figure of them hugging holding a heart. Symbolism of her being her first love, Rhea was her first everything and will always be her mama. Damien had the extra charm of an angel and a lion, royalty and a proud papa like most lions are. And Finn a charm of an angel and a jokester icon, always making her laugh and playing with her to keep her little and making her happy right to left. JD gave his gifts next, an Apple Watch with a cute band in the next box and new AirPods. “Thank you JJ!” She said excited to set it up and get it working on her phone. Rhea was proud of JD, and so happy that Y/N had a great Christmas.
“So baby who had the best gifts?”Dominik asked while they were all watching some Christmas movies. “I loved all of them silly! I can’t choose.” She smiled as she sat in Damien’s lap playing with his necklace. “It was me.” Finn muttered. Dom rolled his eyes. Rhea threw a small object at Finn giving him a look. “I’m glad you had a wonderful Christmas babygirl.” The warmest smile was still on JDs face looking at the bracelet grateful of his gift. “The best Christmas.” He mumbled kissing the charm.
Merry Christmas~

-He was a disproportionate teen with big hand and feet and long thin arms.
-He was really into the pokemon trading cards as a kid, but now he collects postcards from the places he visits.
-His grandmother struggled to feed him, something she tried to hide but failed. So he still has pretty bad food anxiety to this day, often eating large portions, escpecially when the food is free.
-Due to his eating habits from childhood he has a bit of a tummy over his abs.
-After he enlisted his grandmother cried for days.
-He goes back for as many holidays as possible, her favorite is Christmas so he makes an effort to go back.
-His Father's family is Catholic but his mother's is Prodestant, so he makes an effort to go to both Christmas services.
-He is not religious himself, but he enjoys the Prodestant service better since he has trouble sitting still.
-During basic training he was so nervous that he didn't speak a word other than, Ja, Neil, Herr, and the various military ranks.
-Everyone thought he was a suck up, so he didn't make any freinds until he joined his first regiment.
-Although he wanted to be a sniper like his father he also understood why he couldn't be one and tried not to let it get him down.
-His hood belonged to his father.
-After joining his first regiment he became a nervous chatter. Often talking about nothing at all.
-Surprisingly everyone liked the chatter. It kept things lively and he became popular again.
-After his first assignment he became more depressed. He wasn't used to people being afraid of him, being bullied and all.
-He broke out of the slump when one of his teammates snuck a little black kitten onto base. It got loose and hid in Königs room, unbeknownst to him. When he woke up the next morning a kitten was asleep on the chair next to his bed, on top of his discarded hood. It wasn't afraid when he picked it up. König decided then and there that if this tiny kitten wasn't afraid of him, he wasn't that bad after all.
-The kitten was named Harold and loved with the team until they were caught a week later. König took the kitten home to his grandmother for Christmas the next day and he still lives there.
-Edit: Fanart of Harold submitted by my roomate
Tumblr media
-He goes to counceling every week. His therapists name is Andrea.
-He has a dirty mouth, and is always swearing and cracking jokes under his breath. But his demeanor completely changes is his grandmother is around.
-He has a strained relationship with his mother in adulthood, she doesn't even have his phone number.
-He loves music, things with loud base and emotional lyrics.
-Maybe old school emo?
-He can cook, but only basic German fair. Think fleischsalat, kartoffelsalat (with vinegar and oil, duh), boiled wurst, pfankuchen (and of course Flädlesuppe with the leftovers, his father was Swabian) and the like, nothing fancy.
-His favorite breakfast is fitness-brötchen cold butter, teo hardboiled eggs with salt and teewurst. With water and black coffee to drink.
-He likes to indulge in quarkäallchen if he's out and about early, but he can eat an ungodly ammount of them so he makes sure to buy a roll or something to help fill him up.
-He actually really enjoys window shopping, but clothes in stores rarely fit him. If he has a partner he would most definitely know their size and bring them back clothes.
-He wears all black most of the time, but with the occasional pair of blue jeans or tan cargo pants. Really whatever pants could fit him.
-shoes are even worse, he's probably a size 17-18 in men's shoes (US, I think its like a 16 UK and iver 50 in Europe) He's probably got black new balances for day to day use and then custom workboots.
-He knows how to darn and hem. Making him very popular with his coworkers.
-He hums while he does chores.
Ok I actually do have more but I'm tuckered. Let me know if you want more I guess. I do have plenty of spicier ones so I may post those anyways. Goodnight little people in my phone

Time Twins Headcanon's (PART 2)
⏳Krux:
•Hidden talent: Can play the piano and is really good at it 🎹
•Hates crowds
•Hates it when it's too loud
•Krux would be oddly good at video games
•The only thing he would actually play is Mario Kart with Acronix
•Loves reading (History books especially!)
•There's nothing that breaks his heart more than seeing Acronix cry (Which doesn't happen a lot, but when it does, he's a sobbing mess)
Krux would cook him his favourite meal to cheer him up and gives him as many hugs, as he needs 🫂
•Despite being in his 60s he's still as strong as he was when he was in his 20s. That's because he kept training in those 40 years 🏋️ (I belive in buff Krux supermacy 🛐)
•Silly time! Krux can pick up Acronix easily and Acronix has no chance to get free from his grip.
•Also he would win against Acronix in arm wrestling (Acronix is NOT happy about this)
•Fears frogs since he was a child 🐸
•Thinks he's the more handsome twin lmao
•Feels the need to always act strong in front of his brother (hates to show weakness)
📱Acronix:
•Loves listening to music. His favourites are pop, rock and rap 🎶
•Plays video games. Mostly on his phone or Borgpad but also has a Nintendo Switch
Mostly plays shooter games, Super Mario games and Pokemon
•Eats, a LOT, but his body stays healthy and muscular 💪 (no one knows how)
•Wants to try EVERY new food that he had missed out in the past 40 years
And wants to know/see everything in general that he had missed out.
•Swears a lot
•Veeeery impatient
•Sometimes wears Krux's clothes (it gives him comfort ◡ ω ◡)
•Needs Krux's attention 24/7. He annoys the shit outta Krux, when he gets ignored
•His fav breakfast is bacon and eggs 🍳🥓
•Can't sit still for 5 min for god's sake (adhd kicks)
•Is a whiny bitch when he's sick. Acts like he's dying
•Sometimes helps out Krux in the museum. Of course in his own disguise. He calls himself Nixon and pretends to be Krux's son.
⏳📱Both:
•Krux was actually gay first, but after he met Misako he was like "okay boys are hot..but holy shit this woman..."
And Acronix was straight first, but later he was like "damn, boys look fuckable as well.."
(these two are a fucking disaster pff)

A Spark of Something New - Chapter 8 (Title Formerly: Bound by Choice)
A/N: Enjoy!
Fandom: Pokemon (Black & White, All Media Types, Legends: Arceus)
Characters: Original Character, Kudari | Emmet, Nobori | Ingo
Rating: Teen Audiences
Summary: Andy has always been afraid of pokemon and what it is that they’re able to do, which makes their life rather hard considering they’re twenty-two, live in Unova, and work in Nimbasa City; which is known as the battle capital of their region. Their closest friend and semi-adopted mother being a former gym battle leader also didn’t tend to help matters.
A panic attack on a subway car they thought was empty, however, leads to them meeting the infamous Subway Bosses and learning that pokemon, while terrifying, weren’t the monsters they had grown up believing them to be. Getting sucked up into the lives of the two Subway Bosses and their best friend Gym Leader Elesa might be even more terrifying than the pokemon, however.

Chapter 8 - Emmet (Without Ingo) Makes A Friend
“I am Emmet. Today has been the worst.” Normally, that was the point Ingo would tell him he was being dramatic. Instead, over his xtrans, Emmet heard a little huff of agreement. It was definitely bad. “How are the Lines?”
“Once again up and running optimally,” Ingo replied swiftly, sounding as exhausted as Emmet felt. “The Drilbur infestation has been soundly and swiftly dealt with and all Drilbur have been caught and transferred to Professor Juniper’s lab for re-release! Time of arrival to the Pokecenter?”
“Almost there,” Emmet said instead of taking the time to calculate how long it would take him at his current walking pace. That involved math. He was too tired for math. He was pretty sure he heard Ingo make a noise that was either sympathetic or frustrated.
“You should have let me go since I’ll be the one using the team next.” Ah. An Ingo lecture. Emmet was good at tuning those out.
“No. My Doubles matches were this morning. It is my responsibility to see that they are healed before their Singles matches.” On a normal day Emmet would have let the healing staff at the station take care of their pokemon, but with the Drilbur infestation there had been a lot of injured pokemon to deal with. It was easier to use his limited time to visit the Pokecenter. “You also skipped breakfast to work early and assist with maintenance. Keep eating.”
Emmet brought up his wrist to glare at the screen, pleased to see that Ingo made a disgruntled scoff before munching bitterly on a forkful of salad. Emmet would have complained more, normally, but that could wait until he was sure Ingo was well-fed and not at risk of derailing himself. He was verrry bad at being selfish, after all.
“Ah. Entering the center now,” Emmet informed him, stepping into the Nimbasa Pokecenter and looking around to see it wasn’t too busy as he approached the front desk, only one other person there and waiting and the Nurse Joy most likely doing something in the back. It was the off-season for the Gym Challenge, he supposed. Winter would only be a few weeks away, perhaps a month at most. Most Challengers were back at home or had returned to school.
“Please be sure to eat yourself once you return to the station,” Ingo lectured, Emmet nodding along because Emmet, at least, was selfish enough to eat at least a few bites before rushing off to the next task. “A full meal, Emmet, not simply a granola bar!” Damn. His brother knew him too well.
“I will- Hm.” Emmet paused, staring down at the shiny Joltik that was staring back up at him from the counter. The Joltik gave a few taps to the counter with his claws before throwing off a few sparks, Emmet beaming. “I will call you back.” Hanging up on his brother and not listening to his response, Emmet reached out a finger to gently pet the Joltik’s back. “Hello, Spark.”
Looking back up at the other person on the counter, Emmet was highly amused to see that while it was Andy, they were wearing a lab coat and a tie. Verrry unlike their last few outfits Emmet had seen them in. Curiously, he watched Andy yawn, tilting their head towards their right shoulder before snapping up and looking around frantically. It was delightful to watch them look at Emmet before groaning loudly in what seemed to be disbelief. “Seriously, are you following me? This city is huge!”
“Mhm. Yup. It is verrry big. This is also the closest Pokecenter to Gear Station.” Emmet grinned as Andy scoffed and rolled his eyes. “I was not aware you worked in a lab.”
“A- Oh.” Andy looked down at their coat, shaking their head. “No. I don’t. They just make us wear these stupid- Hang on.” Nurse Joy had returned, carrying a small box that Andy sighed in relief at seeing. Interesting. “Thank you.”
“Of course! Thank you for bringing our own supplies back,” Nurse Joy laughed, patting at a box that rested on the desk behind the counter. “Was there anything else you needed?”
“No, thank you, that should be all.” Leaving Andy to check over whatever was in the package, which Emmet found himself curious about, he instead focused on Nurse Joy as she turned to him.
“Oh! Hello, Emmet. Healing the team here today?” Ah, the joys of having someone who knew their routines and was already preparing a tray for all the pokeballs.
“Yup!” Emmet set them all in carefully, delighted as always that Nurse Joy didn’t chain him down with small talk and instead went to work at once at healing the team. He did notice Andy’s curious look over to him. “Ingo and I will use the Pokecenter over the healing staff at Gear Station depending on supply level and time. Nurse Joy is verrry familiar with us here!”
“Guess you’re working yourself today seeing as you’re wearing your own white coat,” Andy said, tone making it seem like they were joking. They were very obviously not good at it. “The, uh, place I work for, they were expecting a delivery for some hard copy data, but it got switched with a supply of items for the Pokecenter, so someone needed to come collect it. I’m getting paid no matter what, so at least there’s that, and no one else wanted to go, since we were doing this group bonding morale hour thing after lunch.” Ah… Emmet was seeing the full picture.
Andy was still rambling, making no move to head for the door. They obviously were not fond of forced social obligations. Emmet could relate. It seemed they were looking for an excuse to not go back to work quite yet. Emmet could help with that. First things first, however. “Is it an Andrew or Andrea day?”
Andy, who had set the box back down and had been in the middle of talking, paused, stumbled, and blinked up at him. Emmet almost expected to get huffed at for interrupting, but instead they beamed, hands doing a few light flaps at their side that was wonderfully familiar. “Andrew. It’s an Andrew day.” Mm. They- He didn’t get asked that often, then.
“You were telling me why your work makes you wear lab coats.” Because Emmet was actually a little curious about that. It also seemed like something Andy was happy to rant about. He was very much like Ingo in that way. Once he found something to talk about, he was able to simply talk.
In the time it took Nurse Joy to return Emmet learned that Andy worked in data entry for the National Pokedex after Lenora recommended it, which made the surprise he felt less surprising, and the fact that Andy thought he would be working not in Nimbasa, which made much more sense for someone afraid of pokemon and battling.
“So,” Andy finished with a sigh, trailing after him with his box once the team had been returned fully healed. “I take it the Station is low on supplies if you’re here?”
“Ah. Drilbur infestation. Ingo needs the team fully healed for the Singles Line so I came here. He wanted to, but he needed to eat lunch.” Emmet paused at Andy’s laugh, bright and sudden. “Hm?”
“Sorry, just- Looks like we’re both using our lunch breaks to get some extra work in.” Lunch break? Hadn’t he said it was some morale hour thing he was avoiding? Andy must have been decent at reading facial expressions, because he gave a shrug. “Morale hour takes place after lunch, so I just got an early start on this and hoped it would take long enough I would miss most of it when I got back.”
Emmet nodded. “Which means you already ate lunch. Good.” Spark had jumped from Andy’s shoulder to the box, chirping in the tone Nugget always used on him when ratting him out to Ingo for not eating. “Ah. You did not eat.”
“I did,” Andy lied, Emmet staring him down. “This morning… Why do you know how to understand Joltiks so well, anyway! Can you just speak to pokemon?”
“No,” Emmet said, laughing in Andy’s face and delighting in the annoyed glare it earned him. So easy to tease. “And all safety checks must be performed!”
With that Emmet was easily swiping the box from Andy’s hands, turning and marching opposite the way towards Gear Station. Spark, delightfully, remained on the box. “Wha- Hey! Don’t just- Don’t just take my stuff and my pokemon and- Emmet!”
“There is a food stall this way that provides good, cheap food,” Emmet explained once Andy caught up, the other still grumbling and fussing as Emmet refused to return the box. It was likely Andy would just run in the opposite direction to escape. That’s what Emmet would do. Hm. Maybe he should distract the other with small talk? Ah, how did small talk work again…
Emmet managed to at least discuss the weather for a minute or two, and even comment on something he had heard Elesa complaining about the previous week. That was enough conversation to get to the stall, and then they were able to talk about what to order. Emmet got his food in a bag to eat once he returned to the station, waiting for Andy to catch up to him as he checked his xtrans.
“So. You don’t really do small talk, huh?” Ah. So it was noticeable. Emmet made sure to not look away from his xtrans as he answered. Less embarrassing that way.
“There is not much I find interesting. What I am interested in tends to be what others aren’t interested in.” Pokemon battling was one thing, but in-depth discussions on IV and moveset breeding was another.
The two of them were quiet as Emmet skimmed through his messages. Ingo was asking where he was and why he had hung up. He couldn’t exactly text back while holding the box and Spark with one hand, but Andy was finally eating, even if it was a food stall pastry. Emmet had a feeling Andy did not eat while working very often. Maybe-
“You could talk about trains.” Snapped out of his thoughts, Emmet shot his gaze to Andy, who was watching him quietly. “You and your brother like trains, right? I, um, I’d be interested in learning about that a little. I mean, I don’t know much, but, uh, that- That first night? The one we met? You and Ingo were talking about- About bullet trains, right? How they were more popular in Kanto than in Johto?”
Oh. Someone had listened to them. Andy had been coming out of a panic attack. He had been overwhelmed. Scared. Surrounded by two strange men and a pokemon he feared. He had still listened to them. He had even remembered. Emmet wasn’t sure what his expression was, but Andy smiled. “My office building is a couple blocks north of Gear Station, so, uh… I’ll be walking with you a bit, if you don’t mind.”
That was all Emmet needed before he started talking. It wasn’t as good as it was with Ingo, who could keep up with him and happily engage in the technical details, but Andy was actively listening. He even asked a few questions that let him go more in-depth. He had an opinion on the bullet train versus magnet train debate! It was nice!
Before he knew it they were at Gear Station, Emmet finally handing the box, and Spark, back over to Andy, who had finished eating. “Thanks,” Andy said, snorting when Spark hopped up to sit back on his shoulder. “Alright, you little traitor.”
“Please remember your safety checks in the future!” Emmet decided to settle on saying, grinning as Andy rolled their eyes. With the coat that looked a size too big and the fact Andy only came up to his shoulder he looked so small. Like a stray pokemon, truly.
“Yeah, yeah.” Andy fell silent, staying in place before looking at him properly. “You know, I don’t have anything that I’m really interested in, not like you and Ingo are with your trains and with battling. So, you know, it’s- It’s nice. I liked hearing about how excited you were about what you love.” Andy lingered a second more before turning to leave, shuffling the box around before giving a little wave. “See you later!”
Emmet waved back, quiet as he followed the familiar path to the Singles Line, boarding about to begin in two minutes and twenty-seven seconds and Ingo waiting near his battling car and scanning the crowd for him. When he made it to his side, Ingo was fussing at once. “There you are. You could have at least answered one of my texts- Ah, you have food!” Ingo paused, staring at him. “You bought actual food?”
“Yup!” Emmet shuffled the bag to his other wrist, handing Ingo the team members he would need for his battles. “Sorry for the delay, I was…” Emmet paused, feeling Ingo’s gaze on him as he stared down at his bag of food before smiling at his brother. “I was speaking with a friend.”

Surprise pokemon
Roark x son reader
Male reader, fluff, child reader
Tumblr media
Roark watched as his toddler tried to feed the gym leaders pokemon in the back yard, struggling with onyx as he was using the cup Roark used for Geodude and cranidos "you gotta use the big cup bud!" He said to the boy who slowly moved and looked surprised at the big bowl.
The thing is, the bowl was half the size of his little body.
(Name) eventually fed all three pokemon and followed his dad back inside "guess whose visiting tonight?" Roark asked as he prepared his son breakfast, the boy in his chair boosted by Roarks rock books, thick textbooks.
"Who?" (Name) asked as the elder placed food infront of him and his own spot at the table "grandpa!"
(Name) bounced happily and did his "grandpa dance" while eating, always excited to see his grandfather, Roark happy they're close.
"There's my little grandson!" Byron said when he came by a few hours later, lifting the boy up and into his arms "are you excited for today!"
(Name) had no clue what the two had planned for him, the boy just excited for grandpa.
Today he was getting his first pokemon.
Little (name) was confused as they went to sandgem town, the two gym leaders happened to friends with The professor who was more than happy to facilitate the tiny boy with a pokemon.
"But I got a pokemon already" (name) said simply and the three adults looked at him confused "no you don't?" Roark asked his son confused and (name) puffed out his cheeks "ya I do! I met him in our back yard!"
"What does this pokemon look like?" Rowan asked crouching before the tiny boy with a pen and paper and the boy drew a very crude picture of... "Are you sure you saw this pokemon?" The professor asked wide eyed and the boy nodded "they are my pokemon!"
"Come out!" (Name) said with a small basket of berries, all of which sweet as the adults stood back and watched as a garchomp came out of the bushes "see! I got a pokemon!" The boy was very proud as the garchomp let him pet him and feed him "by arcieus..." The adults were stunned to say the least as the little boy fed one of the single most dangerous pokemon in the region "have you caught this pokemon?"
(Name) shook his head and tentatively the professor walked to the boy and gave him a pokeball and went back as the pokemon got protective of the tiny boy "you wanna stay with me?" (Name) asked the giant of a pokemon who looked down at the boy blankly before a short nod, after some help from his dad the boy caught the pokemon.
"(Name), would it be possible for you to allow me to study your garchomp?"
(Name) shrugged and held his pokeball "gotta ask him" (name) said simply before releasing his pokemon, the boy and pokemon both quite happy "is there any secret pokemon you have?" Roark asked his son who smiled "I got Lotta friends!"
(Name) by the end of the day showed his family/the professor his "friends"
A garchomp
A ralts
And a strange looking ditto
"A shiny ditto?" Roark really needed to keep a closer eye on his son.
"He's shy about it" (name) said feeding the blob an oran berry "I have so many questions.." Rowan said taking notes and pictures.

Our Angel
Hello! Welcome to part 1 of my new fic series, featuring Greaser Submas! No need to worry! I'm still working on Beemas and Love That Bites! This was just something I've been wanting to write for a while. I'm still in love with the Greaser au... And had actually planned to write this waaaay before beemas, but the beemas brainrot hit hard haha. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy! (*^-^*) Summary: Walking home one day from college, you hear something strange in the nearby alleyway. Morbidly curious, you decide to venture off from your normal trek home, and come across a guy badly injured. Throwing caution to the wind, you decide to take him home to recover his injuries, unaware how drastically your life is about to change... CW: Brief description of injuries, injured Emmet, mentions of unhealthy family relationships, minor anxiety Word Count: 5094 words! Next: Here - - -
From the moment you woke up today, you had a feeling it would be different than normal.
You woke up, got ready for your college classes, ate breakfast, just like normal. Your father had even been kind enough to even drive you to campus for once, since you were up a little earlier than usual.
Classes had been almost painfully average. Most of it was just a review for some tests for Friday. As thankful as you were for the chance to study a bit more, you wish you could have just left to study at home.
Still, you dutifully took your notes (again), and left classes as early as possible. If you stayed any longer, you risked one of your classmates cornering you again, asking you to lunch. As much as your parents liked the man, you had no desire to hang out with him. He made you uncomfortable, and you knew you would be miserable if you agreed to go out.
Walking down the street, with your books in your arms, you held back the urge to sigh. The day had been painfully boring so far after all. Wake up, go to school, walk home… Now all you have to do is get home, eat dinner, study, and go to bed.
The perfect ‘good girl’ your parents had always wanted. You blew a tuft of hair out of your face, though turned your head when you heard the sound of laughing.
Over across the street was a park. It was average compared to Nimbasa’s amusement park, but it was a quaint little place. In the park, you could see a group of people having a pokemon battle. Your heart tugged at the sight, and you couldn’t help but be a little envious.
‘No pokemon allowed in our house!’ Your mother’s voice echoed in your head, a rule your parents kept, even as you were an adult.
Your head dipped low as you looked away. It would do no good to dwell on things you could not have.
Besides, all you had to do was finish college, and you would be free.
You couldn’t wait for that day. Until then, you would abide by the strict rules your parents gave you.
Even if you wished for more, at times.
Shaking your head, you continued onwards back home. You still had a bit of a walk, after all. It was best if you got home before too long so you could study some more. If anything, you would be prepared for Friday, and it would keep your parents placated.
Though you were beginning to get incredibly tired of studying almost every evening.
It wasn’t a rule per say, but if your parents didn’t like the place you wanted to go to, they’d heavily guilt trip you into staying, or make up some excuse saying they needed your help with something.
It was better not to push it. It only happened a few times, but they would hold your college over your head if you persisted.
‘We let you live here for free, and pay for your college classes. You agreed to follow our rules. You are not to go out tonight, or we’ll consider that you are going back on our deal.’
It left a bitter taste in your mouth.
You continued on your way, though your pace was noticeably slower than before.
As you got lost in your thoughts on your way home, you tried to ignore the heavy feeling in your heart.
However, you nearly missed what sounded like a clank in an alley you were passing. It brought you out of your musings, and you paused for a moment.
You stared into the alley way. It was a long one, one that had a crossroad down the middle. You could have sworn you had heard something.
Just as you shrugged and took a step to move on, you heard it again.
Clink!
You looked around you, to see if anyone had heard it, but no one walking down the streets seemed to care, all wrapped up in their own business.
Before you could consider just moving along again, you heard it once more.
Clink! Clink!
Right after you heard the strange sound again, you tilted your head when you swore you heard a groan.
It could be anything, you were sure. In fact, it was more than likely just a pokemon searching for food in the trash. Or it could even be someone who works in the stores on this street, restocking, or taking a break, or something.
Something easily explainable, no need to go check out a dark alley just for curiosity’s sake.
Though as you nearly decided to leave, you heard the same groan once more, followed by a very weak sounding cough.
Biting your lip, you debated with yourself. Going into an alley like this without a pokemon was just asking for trouble, but…
You couldn’t help but feel drawn to it. Like something wasn’t right.
Slowly, you took a step forward into the alley, feeling tense and nervous. You were ready to bolt at any second, should anything go wrong.
Your books were tightly held in your arms as you made your way towards the corner. If you were being honest with yourself, you were almost frightened by what you may find. And yet… The idea excited you. You couldn’t recall the last time your heart pounded like this.
As you came to the corner, you slowed to a stop, freezing when you heard another ‘clink!’ like noise.
It was now or never. Surely it was nothing, and you’ll get to ease your worries, and say you had a fun mini adventure on an average boring day.
Taking a deep breath, you slowly peered around the corner, and stepped back in shock.
On the ground was a man, with very obvious injuries. Even though he was a bit away from you, you could tell he had several bruises, and must be bleeding from somewhere, if the little pool of dried blood under him was any indication.
He was wearing leather, and had what you assumed was white hair, but it was hard to tell from all the blood in it. If you didn’t know any better, you’d say he almost looked like those greaser guys you heard about around campus…
You nearly jumped when you heard another clink. Your eyes snapped a bit to the left, and your eyes widened.
A Galvantula was by a trash can, hitting it with its front legs.
Was that his pokemon?
Just as you thought that, the spider pokemon saw you peering, and let out a little squeak. The pokemon then carefully scuttled towards you, but kept its distance. You noticed it stayed between you and the man on the ground, but didn’t seem aggressive.
Taking a step forward, you pointed to the man, hands shaking.
“M-May I check on him? Make sure he’s okay?” You asked, feeling a little silly, but nervous. You heard most pokemon could understand human speech, but you didn’t know for sure. The last thing you wanted was for the poor thing to attack you, thinking you were going to do more damage.
However, after asking, you nearly jumped back in surprise when the spider pokemon squeaked, and scuttled over to you. It gently tugged at your pants, tugging you forward.
Briefly, you wondered if perhaps the pokemon was making those noises earlier to draw someone’s attention…
You didn’t have time to think about it, with the pokemon now pushing you forward.
“W-Woah! Easy!” You said, nearly tripping over your feet. The Galvantula tapped its legs against the ground anxiously, but refrained from pushing you again.
Lowering yourself to the ground, you gently sat your books to the side, and looked over the man.
He was on his stomach, and slightly curled in on himself. He must have been taking quite a beating.
Gently, you poked him on the shoulder. He let out a groan.
“Okay… good news, he isn’t dead…” you mumbled. But he didn’t look good. He almost curled in further on himself, and was shaking with each breath he took.
You debated on what to do, before shaking your head. Glancing over at the spider, you showed it your hands.
“I’m going to try and flip him over, and see his injuries, okay?” You told it, and it seemed to nod at you. Pleased you got the pokemon’s permission, you gently grabbed the man’s shoulder that was farthest from you, and rolled him over.
The whole time, your heart was back to thudding in your chest. You were nervous, and a bit anxious over what you might see.
The man let out a moan of pain at the action, but didn’t resist you. Though you gasped when you saw a little bit of his wounds and face.
He had a swelling black eye, and a gnarly cut on his head. He also had a bruise on his chin, and a busted lip.
His white shirt was covered in blood, that especially had you worried.
Carefully, you lifted his shirt, and were surprised at the lack of open wounds. There were a few, but it was mostly bruises, and the open wounds weren’t heavily bleeding.
“Is this blood not all his own?” You mumbled, eyebrows scrunched together as you thought out loud
Taking another look at his jacket, you grimaced at the blood outside of it.
Well, this guy certainly didn’t go out without a fight.
Shaking your head, you slipped your backpack off, and reached inside. You had some tissues you could use to clean him up a little. You even had some band aids you could use on the smaller wounds.
Grabbing a water bottle with your tissues, you slowly began to clean up his face. He almost seemed to relax when the damp kleenex dabbled across his skin.
After a few moments, you reached to grab a new tissue, and when you looked back, you jumped.
The guy was awake, staring right at you.
Despite the condition he was in, you were taken aback by his silver eyes. They were beautiful…
You were frozen, and couldn’t look away.
Though when he spoke, it seemed to pull you from your trance.
“Am I in heaven?” He asked, his tone flat. You shook your head, giving a small smile to try and reassure him.
“No silly, you’re still-“
“-Because I must be looking at an angel.” He finished, cutting you off. His blank face then morphed into a dopey-lovey looking one with a wide smile. Your jaw dropped, and you felt your face growing hot.
“N-No! I’m no angel. I’m glad you are awake though, I should probably dial an ambulance-“ you spoke, and nearly squeaked when his arm shot out, grabbing your wrist.
He coughed a bit before speaking.
“No hospitals…!” He coughed again, wincing in pain, “Ingo will kill me if I end up in one again.”
You had no idea who ‘Ingo’ was, but given he was probably a greaser, he’d probably have a lot of trouble headed his way for ending up in one. “Okay, I won’t call a hospital then…” you told him, a bit uncertain with yourself. He really needed professional medical attention, not just tissues and a bottle of water.
His smile returned though, and you felt your face flush as he watched you.
You thought for a moment, and let out a shaky sigh. You didn’t really have anyone you could call, but you didn’t want to leave him here, or upset him by calling an ambulance anyway.
What could you do?
Suddenly, a stray thought crept up in the back of your mind.
‘Your parents are out late tonight, both on a date… You could take him home… It’s not far…’
Biting your lip, you wondered if that would be truly wise, bringing an injured stranger into your home...
But when you looked down at him, and saw his wounds, how some were still bleeding, you made a decision. You just hoped it wouldn’t come back and bite you. With your decision made, you quickly put your books away in your bag, and slung it over your shoulder, before reaching for the injured man beneath you.
“Come here.” You whispered, and gently began tugging him upward. He didn’t resist you, but he did look a bit confused.
“Angel?” He asked you, and you ignored the nickname. This was important. You could be flustered later.
“If you won’t let me dial an ambulance, I need to take you home so I can patch you up. It’s not far from here, and we can take the back alleys.” You quietly explained as you helped him to his feet, and wrapped an arm over your shoulders to steady him.
He stumbled a bit as he struggled to find his balance, but he eventually found it after leaning on you for a moment. However, you could tell moving put him in a lot of pain.
“Okay, Angel.” He slurred, his eyes narrowed as he tried to keep himself together. You couldn’t help but give him a worried look. This poor guy…
Before you got to walking, you looked at his Galvantula, who seemed curious, but ready to follow wherever you led them.
“I’m taking him to my house, would you please help keep an eye out on our way there? These alleyways are not very safe…” You explained. The little spider gave you a nod, followed by a chirp. You assumed that meant they understood.
It definitely made you feel a little bit better at least. You wouldn’t be defenseless if you both were jumped.
Carefully, you began to walk. It was slow, but the man was thankfully able to keep a pace without too much difficulty. You decided to take that as a good sign, though you hated making him walk in the first place.
Though every so often, he would talk, his words occasionally slurring.
“You’re verrry pretty, Angel.”
“I must be incrrredibly lucky, I have my own guardian Angel.” “Hng… Ingo is going to be so jealous… When I tell him…”
You decided he must have hit his head too hard. No doubt he must have had a concussion, with all the silly things he was saying.
Though that didn’t exactly help your anxieties about the man’s health.
Still, despite the rough condition he was in, he was able to make most of the walk to your house without much trouble. He only had to stop a few times, but otherwise, was able to keep up.
You thanked whatever deity was watching over you that the remaining walk home had been a short one. Especially since it was still daylight, and you had been worried about someone seeing the man, and asking you about it.
Thankfully, even as you escorted him past the main parts of the city into your neighborhood, no one saw you carry him towards the suburban alley way. If they did, no one said a word.
Finally, you approached the gate to your backyard, incredibly thankful that your father had not yet bought a lock for it. It was a small struggle, getting the old gate open, but you managed.
Carrying the man through your backyard, you carefully maneuvered him to your back door. Though you mentally cursed, realizing the door was locked.
“Here, lean against this.” you said, gently having him lean against the wall near the door.
“M’kay, Angel…” He mumbled, doing as you asked. You tried not to fret over how quiet he had gotten, compared to how he was mumbling earlier.
Quickly, you scrambled for the spare key, ignoring how shaky your hands had gotten. Once you found it, you made quick work of the lock, and pushed the door open. You hid the key once more, and once again had the man lean on you to walk.
Once inside your house, you made your way through the home, before making it to the stairs. It was a bit of a struggle, but slowly, you managed to get the injured man to the second floor, and to your bedroom.
Carefully, you led him to your bathroom. You especially thanked any god listening that your parents let you have a room with a bathroom, or this would be so much more difficult. As if you were carrying glass, you gently sat him down on the closed toilet, and took a moment to catch your breath. The man easily sat down, also happy to relax for a moment. All the while, his cute Galvantula jumped up onto the bathroom counter to observe.
“Here. Rest here, and I’ll do my best to patch you up. I have a first aid kit here.” you softly told him, hoping he was able to somewhat comprehend your words.
His head lifted up a bit, and he gave you a dopey smile.
“Whaaatever you say, Angel.” he slurred, before his head rolled a bit, before hanging low again.
You had to fix him up, fast.
Quickly, you grabbed the first aid kit under your sink, thankful your father insisted every bathroom have one.
Putting the large box on the counter next to the pokemon, you quickly opened it up, and nearly sighed in relief when you saw it was mostly untouched. You figured as much, but you did not want to dig around the other first aid kits, just in case your family noticed something was out of place. Moving a bit to a cabinet on the wall behind you, you pulled out a few rags. Once again, you were thanking any deity listening, especially for the fact your towels and rags were black. Blood could still be noticeable, but not near as bad as any other color. You could probably wash them out before your parents even got home if you are quick enough.
Carefully, you wet down a rag, and bent down in front of the man. You gently cupped his face, grabbing his attention.
“Sir? I need you to stay awake so I can clean your wounds, okay?” You told him. His eyes fluttered open, and he gave you a small smile.
“Okay.” You gave him a nod and a small smile.
“Good. I apologize, but this will eventually sting.” You warned him. You were cleaning the blood off with water, but when you used the medicine to clean the wounds further, you had no doubt it would hurt.
The man playfully scoffed, though it came out more as a wheeze.
“I c’n handle ‘t.” He spoke, trying to sound touch as he gave you a smile. Though he kept swaying, and seemed to slur his words even harder. You had to work fast.
Thankfully though, you didn’t have to worry too much about him bleeding out, most of his wounds had started scabbing over, only a few still trying to bleed. You winced as you tugged at his white shirt. You probably should have ripped some clothes or something to help it stop the bleeding. You were such an idiot, you were lucky he was still awake.
Tossing the rag into the sink, you grabbed another, and some peroxide and ointment. You then bit your lip, before tugging on his jacket.
“I need to remove your jacket and shirt, sir…” You told him, fighting the urge to become flustered. He was injured, no need to make it weird.
“I am Emmet.” You heard him speak. Was that his name?
“Okay, Emmet. I’m going to remove your jacket and shirt, okay?” You told him gently. He fluttered his eyes at you, his grin widening.
“‘Course, Angel, anything f’ you.”
He then started to shrug off his jacket, which you quickly took off his hands and tossed to the side. You had to help him with the shirt though, his wounds a bit painful to do on his own.
Though when he got his shirt off, you were incredibly thankful to whoever was watching your life right now. The wounds weren’t quite as bad as you feared, but you still had work to do if you wanted to help him get out of this alive without infection. You got to work, grabbing some bandages as well, and setting them off to the side as you began to clean. If you could get the bleeding to stop, and clean these quickly, you could get the wounds bandaged immediately. The moment you began to clean and put pressure on some wounds, Emmet hissed in pain. You were surprised when he jolted away from you, before making himself relax. Maybe he was a bit more lucid than you thought? Or he had one hell of a pain tolerance up to this point. Though you had to ask yourself just how big of a concussion he must have when he spoke to you again as you began bandaging a wound. “D’ya like what y’ see?” He teased, and you attempted to ignore his question. He had a bit of muscle, some slim abs, and noticeable pecs. However, you didn’t want to become distracted when the guy was still so incredibly injured. “You are very injured, forgive me if I am a bit more worried about your wounds than your muscles.” You told him, though your words weren’t harsh. You swore you heard him chuckle.
He then let out a whine as you cleaned and wrapped another injury, one of his hands curled into a fist, before relaxing. You couldn’t help but frown.
“Sorry! I’m trying to be gentle.” You told him. It wasn’t your fault, but you couldn’t help but feel bad for him, knowing this must hurt a lot.
He simply gave you another smile. You wondered how he could do so when no doubt in a lot of discomfort.
“S’okay, Angel. You’re p’fect”
Thinking for a moment, you spoke up, giving him your name. He blinked. “What?”
“That’s my name.” you repeated.
“Okay, Angel.”
You had a feeling Angel was probably your new name from him now. There was a chance he wouldn’t remember much of this, and it seemed Angel was the easiest for him to use.
After you had the bleeding wounds under control, you shifted your focus onto his head. That cut wasn’t bleeding, much to your surprise, but it still looked fairly nasty.
Leaning in close, you began to clean it, only to pause when you heard Emmet speak.
“You’re so gorgeous.”
You then turned to his Galvantula, who had been watching on the counter patiently.
“I think your master hit his head too hard.”
The spider made some clicks in reply, but you simply turned back to Emmet, who was now pouting.
“I mean it. Y’re gorgeous.”
You clicked your tongue, trying to focus.
“Hush. You have a concussion.”
You could test that, but you almost had no doubts he had one. It made blaming his odd behavior on it a bit easier.
This guy was also possibly a huge flirt, you had heard of his type. It would be best to ignore him and not engage in his compliments, no matter how much they made you feel warm inside.
After you finished cleaning the head wound, you began to put on some ointment, and get ready for some bandages. As you were unwrapping the bandages, Emmet spoke again.
“My beautiful Angel, no, a god!” he spoke, staring right at you. You wanted to rub your temples.
Dear Arceus, he upgraded.
“My own guardian angel… What’d I do t’ deserve you?” he mumbled, looking a little more out of it. It would be sweet, if you weren’t so concerned about him. It seemed the exhaustion was finally catching up to him.
You just hoped he wasn’t passing out from blood loss. But you patched those wounds, and they hadn’t bled too much after you found him…
Still, you couldn’t be sure.
Thankfully, you were nearly done cleaning him up, and finished securing the bandage around the wound on his head.
You bit your lip as you looked him over. Where would you put him? Your bed? Maybe you could hide him out on the floor out of sight from your door, in case your parents came to check on you?
That wouldn’t be too bad. You could grab some blankets hidden away in one of the hall closets, and make sure he was comfortable, and he’d be out of sight.
Looking at Emmet, the poor man was slouching, and was more than likely almost asleep. Biting your lip, you gently went over, and put your hand on his cheek.
“Hey, I’m going to move you now, okay? So you can get some rest.”
He didn’t say anything, simply humming in response. However, he did nuzzle into your palm. You decided to take that as an ‘okay’.
You also did your best to ignore how cute it was.
Nodding to yourself, you then gave him a moment, before looping your arms under his own.
“Here we go-” you spoke, grunting when you began to help lift him up. He was even shakier than before, and struggled to find his footing.
When he started to sway, you struggled to hold him steady, and nearly panicked.
“M’Sorry, Angel…” you heard him groan out, and he stumbled over his own feet. The moment you felt him start to tumble, you panicked, and tried to hold him still. It proved to be futile, he began to fall, and you were going down with him.
…Right into the bathtub.
You both fell in rather clumsily, with you landing on his chest as he fell in on his back.
It took you a moment to gather your thoughts, before you quickly began to panic. You were straddling the man, as he lay dizzy on the floor of your tub.
“Oh my gosh, are you alright!?” You asked, quickly looking him over. Did you open any of his wounds? Did he hit his head?
His eyes blinked open, and he gave you a lazy grin. You then felt his arms wrap around you suddenly, and pull you back to his chest. A squeak left your lips as you were pressed against his bare chest, and you felt your face light up.
“N’ver better, Angel.” he spoke, his words heavy as he laid his head down on the floor of the tub. You briefly struggled against his grip, before finally relenting. He held you tight, and you didn’t wish to worsen his injuries after you had just patched him up.
You stayed that way for a while, your own body pressed against his.
It wasn’t so bad. If it wasn’t for the fact you were worried about his wounds, and were in a bathtub, you would even consider this kinda… comfy, if the situation wasn’t so odd.
And the fact he was, you know, a stranger. A stranger that was half naked and injured.
You weren’t sure how long it was until you felt him relax, and his breathing even out. Carefully, you lifted yourself up, and put his arms to the side.
Thankfully he never woke up. You weren’t sure if that was a good sign or not.
A little bit shaky, you stood up, and stepped out of the tub. Your eyes met the Galvantula, who was staring at you curiously from the floor. Glancing back at her owner, who was knocked out still in the tub, you let out a small huff.
“I’m… Going to go and grab some pillows and blankets to make him more comfortable.” you muttered, and quickly left the bathroom.
It didn’t take long to grab the stuff you needed. As you put the stuff aside outside the bathroom, when you went in to check on Emmet, you nearly gasped at the cute sight.
The Galvantula had crawled into the tub, and was now resting on the greaser. Emmet, still asleep, had subconsciously wrapped his arms around her, and held her close as they snuggled.
It was a genuinely cute sight. Precious, if you dare say so.
Quietly, you carried a few pillows and blankets in. The pokemon only gave you a glance, before going back to relaxing on her trainer. Carefully, you placed a pillow under him, and two blankets on top of both. You set a few more pillows inside, before deciding it was enough.
You watched them for a few more moments, before a thought hit you. Just as quiet as you entered, you left, heading to the kitchen. You grabbed a few painkillers, and a sticky note on the way back in your room, and wrote a note, before putting both on the side of the tub.
Hopefully he’d notice the bright blue note if he woke up.
Gently, you closed the door behind you as you left, and sat down on your bed. Letting out a sigh, you dropped your head into your hands, and groaned.
“What am I doing?” you asked yourself, as everything hit all at once. For some Arceus-forsaken reason, you saved some random greaser guy on the street. You didn’t even call the cops, or an ambulance, like you should have.
This was such a bad idea. Probably a huge mistake.
The stranger in your home wasn’t even the only issue! What if your parents found out? No doubt the man would be arrested on the spot, and you would be locked inside your own home for years. Even if you were a grown adult, you doubted your parents would let you live freely for such a ‘transgression’.
Not only was it a boy, it was a greaser. A greaser who no doubt was trouble given how you found him.
But… you may have saved his life. If you hadn’t walked into the alley from sheer morbid curiosity, who knows what would have happened? Would anyone have found him? Would anyone have cared to even call an ambulance, given he was a greaser? You knew a large group of people didn’t care for the gangs running around, so would anyone have cared to call anyone for this guy?
It made you sick to your stomach. Even if you weren’t sure if this was a good idea, you can’t say you regret trying to help him. You wouldn’t have been able to live with yourself if you had just left him there.
You glanced back at the bathroom door, and bit your lip. Your hands shook as you finally took in everything that happened today.
Hopefully this won't come back and bite you.
