u.shijima wakatoshi is a high-school volleyball player who attends shiratorizawa academy. he’s the embodiment of an incredible player - a captain, one of the best aces / wing spikers of the country, a player for japan’s youth team... the list goes on and on.

for the past two years, ushijima had led shiratorizawa to the nationals , considered to be one of the powerhouse pillars of the team. he’s the captain, the ace, well-known for his name and face wherever he goes. 

but the third year is different. karasuno wins the way to nationals over shiratorizawa, but ushijima refuses to be crushed. although the spot for the nationals has been given to someone else, he still works hard, improving his skills until he can stand back on the stage with pride. 

ushijima’s default verse is after shiratorizawa lost to karasuno, but before the nationals officially start! 

COLLEGE VERSE

ush.ijima has been accepted to keio university, pursing sports and playing for keio’s volleyball team. 

while he’s skilled... it’s difficult. he’s used to shiratorizawa working around him, focusing him as a point of strength, so the way that the team works is different. but he’s stubborn, and works with the setter to try and improve for the team.

he’s got a professional making sure his body stays in tiptop shape!  he doesn’t want to turn out like his father where an injury stops him in his career (despite this, ushijima injures himself in third year by overexerting himself and is out of commission for approx over four weeks).

his teammate is @gadian-shin! you’ll find them at the gym from 1 am to 12 pm - FLAKSJDFLKSADF nah but they’re generally duo-practicing when the team isn’t practicing! also val’s iwaizumi is his roommate and they have a bunch of cacti bc ushijima brings home cacti when he wants to

ATLA VERSE

originally, ushijima is of the dai li - the elite, trained earth benders of ba sing se. his loyalty is to the earth kingdom and the earth kingdom only.

however, when their loyalties shift to long feng, not the earth kingdom, ushijima tries to leave the dai li. they don’t let him - they drag him back, over and over again, brainwashing him to bring them back into their ranks.

it’s when the dai li turn their loyalities to azula does ushijima disappear. he escapes and doesn’t show his face in the city for months. he doesn’t give out his real name- only the name utsui (his father’s name) when he’s prompted. 

after the fire lord is defeated, ushijima expands to leave ba sing se, but not the earth kingdom. after all, his heart still lies with his people. he grows a garden in a remote area of the earth kingdom and starts... healing! 

by that, i mean the traditional healing with medical herbs and roots that he grows with his garden and retrieves in the nearby forest. he’ll heal cuts of travelers who pass by. 

healing was not in his nature, but neither was the capturing, prisioning, and interrogating until the dai li hammered it into him. eventually, it’ll grow to be his trade, but it takes time.

BNHA VERSE

ushijima is a pro-hero, having grad. from u.a and got an internship! when he’s not working as a pro-hero, he works part-time at a supermarket and plays volleyball in his free time with some civilians. 

his quirk is a transformation quirk called igneous. The basis of the quirk is that Ushijima can turn his skin into a layer of  hardened igneous rock, and when that layer is broken, magma will flood through the cracks. He is able to turn his skin anywhere on his body, including his face, torso, legs, and hands. The most common area is his arms. 

his stats are as follows: Power - 5/5 A Speed - 2/5 D Technique - 3/5 C Intelligence - 3/5 C Cooperativeness - 4/5 B

KH VERSE

originally, he was fine. ushijima was fine, neither light nor darkness, but when the heartless overrun his world, he’s killed. what comes back is not ushijima - just his body and his soul. 

ushijima’s death leaves behind a nobody, one who takes up the name of naoki. he is not ushijima, he just has his memories and his face, and naoki never lets himself forget that.

hes fine with the entire.... being a nobody. not having feelings. at least, until he tries to find something desperately that he knows should be there: his passion. his passion for volleyball... he doesn’t have it anymore.

he tries to find it again. he goes through so many hobbies: music, art, knitting, anything and everything but nothing resonates with him. even volleyball doesn’t bring the passion he remembers in his memories. 

he has a friend named tomoe

his team:  blaziken, infernape, heracross, tyranitar, scizor, garchomp! will eventually get a blissey and a growlithe that he absolutely adores

ushijima hails from sinnoh, wanting to become one of the elite four or (which is what he prefers) the champion. he was one of the ace trainers on victory road, but now he is expanding his sights and visiting other regions to become stronger and more prepared. 

his name is known in sinnoh, johto, and hoenn for his strength. kanto is next :)

his pokemon are trained for fighting and fighting only. while most of them r punks and absolutely lovely to be around, ushijima hasn’t cared much about actually interacting with them. 

that being said !!! sb interact w him !!! get him to acknowledge how special bonds r w ur pokemon !!!! cmon u cowards!!!
